  1. Yup. SS is down. Well, at least the problem is not specific to my account! So that's a positive.
  2. Something is for sure wrong. Just logged out and tried to log back in and launcher 'updated'. Now it is telling me I have been logged out due to 'inactivity'. Oh well. Update: I can log into other servers fine. Just not SV where all my characters are located.
  3. My thinking is that it is actually the players themselves that cause this problem. Don't blame the company, put the blame squarely where it belongs. When I post on the GTN, and run into an inflated market, I try to post at a value that makes me a nice profit, and one that new players could afford to pay. Maybe that makes me stupid, but I get comfort that someone might find a good buy and be made happy. So, if you all want to see inflation go away, then start posting at reasonable prices. I guarantee that the prices will come down, and will stay down as long as folks continue to post at reasonable prices. This is not EA/Bioware issue - it is 100% a player generated problem. Just my 2c
  4. I think the solution is an easy one. EA should just remove the RP-PVP designation and make it a normal PvP server. Then, these servers could be included in the standard PvP server consolidations. Problem solved.
  5. To little, to late. After months of seeing that silly blurb on launching the game as to how better social standing got me access to 'better' gear.... All I could ever find was Light armor social gear. Great for Healers and Caster DPS. Sucks for any Medium or Heavy users. So, I just spend a few thousand credits for Belt and Wrist moddable pieces. The new system (which really should have been in place at launch) means nothing to me. I think SWTOR launched a year or so to soon. Just think how successful this game would have been (in the long run) if everything that is going to be in place by Dec 2012 had been there when it launched. How much additional content could have been ready. Maybe some of the disasterous design decisions, like splitting the population (and the content) into two factions, could have been reversed in time.
  6. Blonde, have a look at GW2. The devs there are really making some fundamental changes to how MMO mechanics are done. At the very least, go to the GW2 site and watch the *very* short vids that illustrate some of the Profession (Class) abilities in action. There are 5 vids for each Profession, and they are a real eye-opener. Then, maybe read about the game mechanics. GW2 really is something new.
  7. Glad you are enjoying the game. But what you are describing is NOT RP. In point of fact, there is very little roleplay possible in SWTOR. I won't even bother going into the reasons as to why this is true.
  8. Because Bioware did not write this game engine. It is the 'Hero Engine' from a failed fantasy MMO, "Hero's Journey". One would expect horse type mounts to jig up over obstacles.
  9. And, how are they going to give YOU special dispensation and refuse all the other thousands of folks that want to go there? Answer is that they won't allow you to go there, or anyone else.
  10. As one would expect from this sort of quasi-merge.
  11. That is a very recent modifcation to their server transfer rules. It exists that way now because there really are no very heavy pop servers in WoW anymore. Probably won't see Queues again there until MoP launches.
  12. This happens all the time. I have quite often gotten affection results on two or three companions for even normal convo responses in quests. There have even been times when I got no affection change for my current out companion, but have gotten it for the ones on my ship, or out crafting. I guess we maintain radio contact with all our companions all the time. :/
  13. Here is what I would consider a good baseline system : 3.0ghz CPU Dual Core minimum 3g RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 (not overclocked) Win7 Home Premium Anything less than this, and you will have to turn down the graphics.
  14. Heh. If you had an 'All' button, how is that different from clicking '20' ? A click is a click.
  15. Nothing has changed as regards gameplay. Tranfers will solve the pop problem temporarilly. Then, as players get tired of the same-old-same-old that is SWTOR gameplay, the servers will denude again. SWOTR is really a Single Player game dressed up in MMO clothes. Friend of mine and I played as a Tank/Healer duo from Lvl 1 to Lvl 50. We were NEVER less than 4 levels above any zone we were in, until the last zone. We cannot stomach running all this same content again, quite frankly.
  16. State of the Game? Dead. Just need to implement a Cash Shop and F2P. Then, EA can dig a hole, roll SWTOR into it, and cover it with dirt. Something EA seems very skilled at doing to MMOs. If it just doesn't put a bullet in their heads.
  17. Even when Paid Transfers become available, I can assure you that you will NOT be allowed to transfer to a Heavy population server, Fatman or otherwise. The most likely scenario is that they will do just what WoW does, give you a list of underpopulated source servers, and a corresponding list of Light or Medium populated destination servers you can transfer to. So, if you want to be on a Heavy population server, just suck it up and re-roll on one. Because that's the only way you are getting there.
  18. If being Dard Side is hard for you, I am afraid you don't belong where the real power of the Force resides.
  19. A SWTOR Fan-Boyz that was NOT leaving the game suggested I should post why I was leaving, even though such posts had been locked or deleted in the past. So, ok. Here is my list : 1. Splitting every server into two mutally exclusive halves that really have no purpose and only serve to cut the population on each server in half. And reduce playable content by 50%. 2. Way to fast leveling curve to cap. 3. Failure to fix bugs. 4. Not setting SWTOR in the REAL Star Wars universe. 5. Not doing Server Merges when it became obvious to anyone playing the game that they were desperately needed. 6. SWTOR 'Space Combat'. C-64 Star Fox? Really? 7. Using an MMO engine, the 'Hero Engine' from a failed MMO "Hero's Journey", and not building their own. 8. Creating yet another WoW clone. Mini #1 - SWTOR 'Customer Service'. Mini #2 - SWTOR Fan-Boyz. Doing more harm than good. Mini #3 - SWTOR Forum Moderators. Constantly closing, deleting, moving threads critical of SWTOR. And to that same Fan-Boyz that said that GW2 would have no impact on any other MMO (as if it were another SWTOR WoW Clone knock-off)? Well, I have actually played GW2. And I can tell you all it IS a different animal altogether. Read up on its mechanics and systems. Watch the videos. Read the blogs. Find out for yourself. See you all there.
  20. The Forum Moderators are unlikely to Move, Lock, or Delete this thread?
  21. The 'T' key has been broken for remapping since pre-launch. And the reason a lot of this stuff never gets fixed is because Bioware did not write the Game Engine. It is the Hero Engine, from a failed MMO, "Hero's Journey", that they got for essentially free and royalties. So, they don't actually have the kind of intimate knowledge of the code base that is needed for rapid, accurate fixes.
  22. Well, I am not going to list all the reasons for quitting SWTOR. I have listed them in other threads, all of which have been locked or deleted. It seems that the forum moderators REALLY do not like folks saying 'bad' things of a detailed nature about SWTOR. My playing duo partner and I are moving on from SWTOR near the end of this month. Our accounts are canceled, and we will not be coming back. I am sure the SWTOR Fan-Boyz will be happy to hear that, as they won't have to see, or respond to, my negative posts about SWTOR anymore. There is a new game coming out later this year (have been in the Beta). If I were to characterize EQ1 as MMO 1.0, and WoW as MMO 2.0, this new game is going to be MMO 3.0. It is really gathering up all the best of all the current and past MMOs and making a truly new MMO experience. For those of you that just HAVE to have Star Wars, I wish you well, and enjoy the game. For those of you that are looking for something really new, fresh, and different? Come join us in GW2.
  23. The FIRST time I went through (both Rep and Imp sides), I took my time and really saw, explored, and did all I could. In detail. Now, sadly, it is : Hi! Space-Space-Space-Space. On to my next WoW style quest. VO only works well the first time through, unfortunately. After that, it is an obstacle and an annoyance. Good idea in theory. Not so good in practice. More content would have helped. Glad you are haveing fun now. But will you the NEXT time through? If there is a next time.
  24. There is no patch now, but if you have not been on in over a week, you might be getting some old stuff. Otherwise, who knows.
