  1. You forgot: 3. Vanity clothes slots. Now that WILL save the game !!!
  2. Not 'Bioware'. Not Mythic. Not EA. None of these guys.
  3. 6. SWTOR 'Space Combat'. Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha. 'Wipes tear from Eye'. Didn't I see this 20 years ago on the C-64 ?!?! Star Fox? Really? A 'Star Fox' rail shooter in 2012? Wow. Other Epic Fails : 1. Splitting every server into two mutally exclusive halves that really have no purpose and only serve to cut the population on each server in half. And reduce playable content by 50%. 2. Way to fast leveling curve to cap. SWTOR was not a 7 year old WoW with 85 levels to get to cap. It was a NEW game, with limited content, that needed to give players time to savor the experience. Not blast through the content to get to cap and start grinding repeated HMs, FP, OPs, and crafting, etc. 3. Failure to fix bugs, and instead focusing on providing new content for Lvl 50s that have blasted their way to grinding in the 'end game'. 4. Not setting SWTOR in the REAL Star Wars universe. 5. Not doing Server Merges when it became obvious to anyone playing the game that they were desperately needed. Mini-Fail #1 - SWTOR 'Customer Service'. What a joke. Mini-Fail #2 - SWTOR Fan-Boyz. Doing more harm than good. Nuff said. Mini-Fail #3 - SWTOR Forum Moderators. Constantly closing, deleting, moving threads critical of SWTOR. IBTL
  4. Based on what I saw during the first month, and what I see now? About 1/4 to 1/3 of what the original population was. Max. Most of the time? About 1/10 of the original population levels.
  5. GW2 Launches with Server Transfer of entire character roster available once per week (for modest price). Launches with a 'Guesting' feature that allows characters to play with friends on another server. Launches with PvP that is Server vs. Server vs. Server Launches with options for waiting in a Queue, or playing on an Overflow Server until room is available on the home server. Why should I even bother with SWTOR when this will be available at launch on a far more developed MMO?
  6. Not doing Server Merges when it became obvious to anyone playing the game that they were desperately needed. How to make a bad situation worse: ignore the problem an hope the next meager, buggy, patch will bring back players in their hundreds of thousands. Other Epic Fails : 1. Splitting every server into two mutally exclusive halves that really have no purpose and only serve to cut the population on each server in half. And reduce playable content by 50%. 2. 7. 4. Not setting SWTOR in the REAL Star Wars universe. I mean, really. Who is the fool that thought setting SWTOR in something OTHER than the iconic Star Wars universe was a good idea? Other Epic Fails : 1. Splitting every server into two mutally exclusive halves that really have no purpose and only serve to cut the population on each server in half. And reduce playable content by 50%. 2. Way to fast leveling curve to cap. SWTOR was not 7 year old WoW with 85 levels to get to cap. 8. The only way Server Transfers would have a chance at working is if a large number of servers were targeted to be shut down ( 1/2 to 2/3) and the players on them instructed to transfer to selected low population servers. Bioware is NOT going to allow people on low-population servers to transfer to high population ones. That would be an insane thing to do. Purposely overload already good servers and introduce tons of lag and queue waits. Not going to happen. Thus, if server shut-downs are not mandated, people are just going to shuffle randomly about, with the end result of virtually no change in overall average server population. What SHOULD be done is planned and targeted Server Merges. But that would be an outright admission on the part of EA that SWTOR is failing, and failing fast. That won't be done until it is far, far to late to do any good. Can I think of any other recent game involved with EA Mythic that has had this same sort of head-in-the-sand approach. One that has had ALL the same sort of bug, population, support, and censorship policies? Oh yes. Warhammer Online. There is a pattern here regarding anything EA-Mythic touches. And it is not a good one.
  9. Most of the Convo scenes use the base colors of gear, not the unified colors. I see my base colors in every Convo scene.
  10. No, not a wizard. But, I have been playing in the GW2 Beta. And have been studying the mechanics, classes, skills, crafting, etc. of the game. I can only recommend that you take a look for yourself and see for yourself. GW2 is going to be a true game-changer. Just like WoW was when it went in and unseated EQ1 from the MMO throne.
  11. Dream on. Then, take a look at GW2
  12. Until GW2 launches. Then everyone but the Fan-Boyz be gone for good.
  13. Guys, you ALL need to rethink statistical probability theory here. Yes, each RE has a 20% chance of succes. But, if it were an 'honest' 20% chance, then as you do REs, the odds of failure should go down as you progress through the rolls. Think of it as flipping a coin 20 times. Each flip is 50/50 for one side or the other. But, what are the odds of getting 20 Heads, or 20 Tails in a row? Very slim. So, to have a 20% chance of succes, and get 17 failures in a row is not a statistically probable event. And I can say I have experienced this sort of anomaly many, many times doing REs. There IS something wrong with the probablity generator they are using. In addition, I would point you all back to the 'bug' that was recently 'fixed' regarding the conversation win frequency problem where the first person to win a conversation roll would continue to win them.
  14. Nothing will keep me and my duo partner in SWTOR. GW2, which I am in Beta on, is just going to sweep through the MMO world and skim the majority of players right off the top of every MMO out there. Leaving most MMOs with nothing but their hard-core Fan-Boyz to keep them going.
  15. As of April 23, 2012, this bug is back. Probably was patched back in with the crapload of old code that got included in 1.2 Tried 3 times. All three times, we were in 'safe' quadrant and got toasted. The last time, there was not even any fire graphic; everyone just fell down dead. (My ping in the low 100s, so not lag) There are so few instances in this game, it really sucks that one of them has been broken for so, so long. Bioware develpers should be ashamed of themselves.
  16. Generally, I told him I would be playing the game for some while yet. But, specifically, here is the information I gave him : ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THe game is pretty basic and rough around the edges. Had a great start, but if they do not address a couple of critical issues in the design, I am thinking it may go the way of Warhammer Online. At its current state, I would give it 2.5 out of 5.0. * - 1.0 for the horrendous UI and Targeting systems * - 0.5 for the crappy PvP systems * - 0.5 for the bugs and graphics anomalies * - 0.5 for the arcade shooter on rails space combat system * + 1.0 for the relatively smooth launch * + 1.0 for the innovations in story and gameplay * + 0.5 for overall fun factor So, make of that what you will. If they are smart, they will address some of these issues fairly expeditiously. Otherwise, things will not go well in the long run. We shall see. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I like the game, but there HAS to be some work done on the design. Just one MMO player's opinion. I have been playing MMOs since 2000 and EQ1. This game, as it stands, will be about as successfull as SWG, if things remain as they are now.
  17. The Slicing Nerf. Who does it benefit? Who does it hurt? * Benefits Credit Farmers. Without a high yield player income option, the usual MMO Credit Farm and Spam industry will be in full force. Indeed, it has already started. * Benefits whinners and complainers who cannot STAND to let anyone have more than they have. * Hurts non-GTN Crafters. Slicers had a way to make income while actually PLAYING the game. Really not possible now. * Hurts GTN Crafters. Who the heck do they think was actually buying all the stuff they posted on the GTN? As a Slicer, I bought gear from the GTN all the time. I needed it; that's where I went. No longer. * Hurts questing GTN sellers. Slicers could affort to buy all that stuff for just a few points gain. No longer. Now, need to wait for a significant Stat Boost before spending scarce credits. * As a Slicer that also crafted Biochem & Bioanalysis, I purchased Diplomacy mat yields from the GTN all the time. I gave away Prototype healers & stims to guildies. No longer. In short, removing the profit from Slicing (or 'extra' profit, if you like) has cut off the flow of currency into the general gaming population. Your stuff is not selling like it used to? Wonder why? Wonder no more. Stuff you used to buy at a reasonable price (such as Mission Discoveries) now astronomically out of reach? Blame it on the Slicing nerf. Note that Scavanging, UWT, and some of the other Mission Discoveries have quadrupled in price. And that is just the start. All in all, what was a unique and interesting mechanic, that basically drove the economic engine, is now broken. Just like every other MMO that implements this sort of economy control, it is doomed to failure. And we are all doomed to be overrun by the Credit Farmers & Spammers.
