  1. I play an honorable but ruthless and violent Sith Warrior, which means taking some Light side options, like fighting honorably . I have Light I because of ~3500 light side points for ~2200 dark side points. I wanted to recruit the Dark Side Jeasa, because she fit my character's RP better (my character is female so not for the romance option). I murdered her former Master, her parents, and tortured and killed her new Master. I choose every option I could to break her and turn her to the Dark Side. But it didn't work. Since I have more Light points, she decides I am a great person. She agrees to my plan of "reforming the Empire" (a plan that I have chosen or hinted at in with exactly 0 dialogue options, but which my character now seems to be motivated by). She even said that "your actions reflect Light" ! I MURDERED EVERYONE SHE LOVED ! The choice for her to be Light-side wasn't made by RP or choice, but by maths: Light Points - Dark Point. And apparently now there is exactly nothing I can do about it now. No re-loads, no new choices. What really annoys me is that though everyone I know tries to create their own moral code and principles for their characters, it seems we are forced into a binary choice - A Light-Side Sith can only be a good person trying to reform the Empire. It is a bit frustrating. /rant over
  2. From what i understand they are merging the "farmville-style" impulse-buy microtransactions for the F2P players, while subscribed players get everything for free. It's a pretty great system imo, since according to all my friends in game developping, this social-game micro-transaction system works insanely well ! I do think it's a mark of "failure" that the game has to open itself to F2P and that is too bad. But i will stay subscribed. I don't care about, well, anything, as long as i enjoy the game.
  3. Let's not take into account the Extended Universe since the vast majority of people never read it. Also, Chewie dies and it makes me sad. I would say that the closest thing there is is the Jedi Consular. Now true, Leia uses blasters in the movies, but from a RP/Clothing perspective, the Consular is much closer since she's a diplomat (like Leia), cool-headed, etc.
  4. And by that, i especially refer to the new LFG system. I play a tank, and as the tank, i hold the most "power" since if i leave it basically kills the group (on my server, other roles wait 20 minutes for a new tank, maybe 10 for a new healer). As such i can usually dictate how i want things done. I know this will sound evil, but i have a decent history of playing a tank in MMOs, and i know how to do my job and don't trust PUGs, especially DPS since healers seem on average more mature, to know how to do theirs (too many bad DPSers has killed my faith in PUGs over the months and years). As such, at the beginning of the Flashpoint, i like to point out a few rules, like "if someone wants to Scavenge all the droids, wait for them" or "let me pull" or "if someone doesn't want to spacebar their way through every cut-scene, that's okay" But that's a lot of things to type for each FP, especially since DPS has a tendency to run in and start hitting things before i even have time to finish a sentence. I remember in the days of WOW, i could spam a few indications, asked if anyone had questions, and we'd be on our merry way. It was simple, it made for better groups, and i had a blast. All in all, i would really appreciate a "macro" function, if only for chat functions. if there already is a macro function that i havnt found, then im going to look absolutely stupid
  5. For Republic the best storyline in my opinion is the Trooper one, every planet has a satisfying and story-important ending (not ¨find one of four artifacts conveniently on the 4 planets¨or ¨Destroy 4 random never-heard-of Terrorist Cells on 4 different planets.") and the Trooper himself is an interesting character - the Jedi Knight story is a bit too straightforward, and the Consular story a bit unfocused. The Sith Inquisitor storyline is, well, just amazing, especially Act II and following.
  6. I HATED the Harkun character. I've seen way too many movies and TV shows where there is a character exactly like that, who then gets put back into place. Every single line of dialogue was spent forcing our hate on him, and he was a very one-sided character - not very interesting. I knew from his first line of dialogue that we'd end up shoving it in his face. And knowing that early makes the face-shoving itself not very satisfying... What WAS very satisfying, on the other hand, was beating down every single one of these ghosts and forcibly binding them under my heel
  7. I disagree with you for Novare Coast, but i agree for Civil War and Hutball. However for Huttball, I do think that the team with the most goals deserves to win, and if they got 4 goals in while the opposite team didn't get any, then they deserved as much. For Civil War, well i think there should be a way to make it harder to defend nodes, that way there will be more movement. After all there is none in Novare Coast and i havn't seen anyone complain about it. But it is true that once you have twice the opponent's score you can hole up at one node and win.
  8. ....AMAZING !!! I mean...the Dark Council already has its sights to off her (Thanaton much ?), and she is dying from old age. Even if she gets a new body, she stills risks being destroyed. So just taking over a body isn't enough, she needs a new life. Using the set-in-stone tradition of "Student Kills Master", she manipulates EVERYONE into thinking we won and she is dead. She even uses fake prophecies, arranges contacts, all for the purpose of cheating everyone. And then takes over our body and can start a whole fresh new life, with no one knowing the truth. I mean, we expect awesome stories from Bioware...but still, for an MMO story, that was pretty amazing.
  9. I just finished the Sith Inquisitor campaign (and what a finish that was !). I like that, as a real MMORPG, it's possible to actually create different character but being constrained to certain limits. See, in the RP servers of WoW, my guild was full of half-vampires, half-demons, all kinds of crazy boring Mary Sue stories because everyone wanted to make themselves interesting and there was no role-playing in the game itself whatsoever, it was a blank slate. And the truth is, people kindda suck at making up stories ! Which is where the directed RP comes in. To add to that is the character creation that, while constraining us to only a human with different colors and appendages, still allows for characters that fit well with the RP you want to give them. Example for a female Sith Assassin: - A former slave, ninja-like Assassin ? Human, Short grey/purplish hair, "asian" features, light body build, light robes. - An ambitious, arrogant Assassin hungry for power ? Sith Pureblood, heavy jewelry, heavy flashy-coloured robes, taller build. - An experienced, mature Assassin ? Long grey/white hair, scars, grey/dark robes. - An insane, psychopathical Assassin ? Short hair, heavy tattoos, very light build, scars. And then multiply that by the 16 classes, and you can play pretty much anything ! I really enjoy that part of the game. It also has the slightly dangerous effect of character-creation-dependance-syndrome... Anywho, i'm enjoying the game. Just sayin.
  10. HOLY MOTHER OF BABY JEBAS THAT WAS AWESOOOOOOOOOOME !!!!! Seriously, the moment when Thanaton desperately uses all of his remaining power to try and shut me down, and when the smoke clears all the Force ghosts appear behind me, then HUGE BALL OF LIGHTNING AND BAM !!! IN HIS FACE ! SUCK IT, THANATON ! WHO'S A CHILD NOW ??? But more seriously , i LOVED how the ghosts all appeared because it really felt like the end of a long journey: each ghost has its own story and i struggled to catch every one of them, and then had to fix both my body and spirit. All of that preparation, all that scurrying about the galaxy chasing wild rumors and insane aliens, all that finally paid off in all its glory. Holy crap that was cool. I heard alot of people complaining about Act III but i think it makes sense: power comes at a price, that's the rule, but our character goes "well F°°° the rules, i'm going to have my cake and eat it too !" I mean, every story of power gained too fast ends at our Act II usually (heck there is even a Trope about it http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TooMuchForManToHandle ). But nooooo we take decadent amounts of powers and THEN rebuild our shattered body and mind to keep it without making any sacrifices whatsoever ! And when the ghosts asked to be released i just told them to bugger off, they're MINE ! MINE FOREVER ! ULTIMATE POWER IS MINE ! AAAAH I LOVED this inquisitor campaign ! This mad lust for power ! It really felt like what a Sith should be like. Also, i met the Dark Council. That was awesome. Darth Marr is ******.
  11. I don't know if everyone has this issue, but i get an announcement every time either side loses 2% off of their base....This leads to a constant repeat of the exact same message, that gets REALLY annoying after a while. Probably should be fixed.
