  1. Much as I like the character, she's gotta go at some point, and that site lightsaber rattling had some good ideas. Might as well have her go out like a ******. I've always felt they should tie her story in with Starkiller somehow. Maybe in an 'epilogue' of the series, show a young Starkiller fighting PROXY who uses Ahsoka's appearance from season 1/season 2? And the single-bladed reverse grip. Afterwards, Vader tells PROXY never to use the program again, but it already stuck. Personally, I like the idea that Palpatine decides to use her as another way to nudge Anakin towards the dark side. Say, he sends Grevious in to have some lightsaber based 'fun' with her. The Jedi try to console Anakin (IE, Yoda's little 'celebrate the fact she's one with the Force' modified to fit the circumstnaces from RotS), but that just ticks him off because, in his mind, they're just being the usual calm, uncaring type when really the Jedi are trying to help him, just in their way. Palpatine is the actually caring arm, maybe, or perhaps Rex offers some sympathy in a different way than the Jedi, a way that Anakin can actually relate to. All in all, having her survive for long is going to be pushing it. If they have her survive, she has to go relatively quickly in the Rise of the Empire. As in like, ran around with Kota's milita or some early pre-rebellion forces that resisted the Empire and get taken out by that... perhaps have Rex, if he follows through Order 66, be forced to kill her? Say, she's about to take Rex out in the fight, but she hesitates and Rex realizes its then or never and takes the shot. Or maybe she's about to take out a Stormtrooper Fives, Jesse, Kix, Coric (from the novels), or any 501st Trooper really and Rex shoots her dead trying to save them despite it being clear he knows the entire galaxy just got screwed up. *shrug* There's a lot of ways they could end it, and I'm personally hoping that, if they had 8 different ideas, they at least reveal the general gist of it to the fans after the big reveal is over. Perhaps do a vote of sorts? IE, after the finale is made, an online poll that asks, "Alright, what do you think is going to happen?" and offer the 8 (maybe a few more just to cover their tracks to people) as options. It doesn't change anything, but offers an interesting little thing.
  2. It happens eventually; just keep racking up affection with Aric and you'll get it eventually. You also need to be in Chapter 2 for the next part of it; there's one mission per chapter for companions (though only the first companion actually is a mission-mission, the rest seem to just do it themselves)
  3. Just saw it wrong. He wasn't taking cover; he just happened to be standing where cover was and the NPC Troopers next to him were using cover.
  4. I took it thinking it was a great addition to my Vanguard's melee arsenal, but now I've pretty much reglated it for mopping out the trash mobs while they're stunned with cryo if it's somehow lasting that long. So yeah, Bltiz is underwhelming mostly because it requires a stun and can only be used on trash. I'd say get rid of the stun and leave it on the trash; maybe up the cooldown to 60 seconds because of that, but otherwise... yeah, it needs that.
  5. Did you just say "okay, you can go"? The other Light Side option is to get their ID tags so the police can pick them up later and get them checked. I ran with that option (Light Side Pramatic, for once) and Jorgan was absolutely fine. Jorgan isn't a guy who's going to go about killing everyone just because his boss said so, but he's also not just going to let a potential threat walk away without a second thought as to the risk. That's really what Jorgan is; he's mostly light side, but he's primarily Logical Good for the Republic. He bucks actually pretty well with a Light Side Trooper. Elara is hands down the most Light Side member of Havoc Squad (not counting the PC), but Jorgan is easily second most light side, but with more dark than Elara by far because he's actually a fairly realistic soldier. Based on what I've read around here, a lot of people hate him for railing on you in Ord Mantell... he's just being a realistically portrayed soldier, and he only rails on you when you fail or because as far as he knows you don't have combat experience. Even with the best training, experience is a big thumper. He's just a realistic soldier. Sure, did I think he was a bit annoying? Yeah, but I also know that he's just being a hard but fair taskmaster. He also warms up to you as you keep succeeding on Ord Mantell, because he understands that you're a competent soldier who can do the job now, because he's seen in.
  6. Sounding like a broken record, but to echo above statements I agree with: A: Wrong section; belongs in "Star Wars Discussion" B: Fate hasn't been revealed. Just 'cause there was a vison in the Mortis arc doesn't mean it'll happen. In Yoda's own words: "always in motion is the future. And many possible futures there are." Finally; I agree. Ahsoka's character started annoying (albiet with hope for better characterization), but once they matured her out/ironed out the exact characterizations, she became a lot more likable. I'm going to be very interested to see how her character goes considering she's already showing signs of possible Dark Side falling considering how she hasn't blinked at Anakin's latest DS moves...
  7. and makes Light Side troopers want to put Garza in an airlock even more? Heh, my Trooper wanted to do that after Coruscant... but he knows her knight templar attitudes have their uses... *cough* *COUGH*
  8. They really should let you find out about that WITHOUT having to press the Senator about it. Like, after Chapter 1 you get a codex entry representing a file that Elara dug up or something about Havoc Squad's past... that seriously changes things if it's true.
  9. Honestly, I find the animations are fine... Mortar Volley: Okay, I don't know how we load multiple mortar shells into our blaster rifle, but then again we seem to have frankenguns anyways... Gut: What's not to love about gutting that cocky Force-user with a wrist-mounted vibroknife? Stockstrike: Honestly, I love stock strike. Like gut, it's very statisfying to use as a finisher, and Vanguards get to use it plenty. Pulse Cannon: Hey, when you have enough lightning to make a Sith Inquisitor throw chunks, you know it's good. I agree, HiB needs to be a little flashier instead of a dinky little shot (TBH, in its current form you'd think it was more of a sniper round than anything), but otherwise troopers are fine. They aren't meant to be flashy like other classes; they get in your face, leave you bleeding/burning on the floor, move on.
  10. Gerald. Simple, yet it stuck very well. Legacy name is Perkins, but really I don't display Legacy names.
  11. Why does everyone assume Jorgan is just waiting for you to die so he could take command of Havoc? He litterally says when he went career he had it split pretty squarely into two categories of promotions: 1: Fight the Empire. If it lets him get a crack at the Imperials attacking the Republic, he's in no matter what. 2: Career dressing. Everything that doesn't have to do with the above falls in here and its very expendable. Pretty much is just here to set up for number 1. Letting you die would only fill the second one, which he doesn't really need to do anymore now that he's in Havoc Squad. So where's this conception that he's waiting for you to die coming from? I mean, he probably would take command after you left (if you promoted him), but he's not the type who's going to leave you for dead. Heck, take a look at the Deadeye's, his class story.
  12. I thought the generally accepted idea was that he's refering to the post-Ruusan Republic, not the whole Republic?
  13. Even unfished, KOTOR II was probably once of the most nuanced Jedi-centric Star Wars games out there. I think that if they had been allowed to finish instead of rushing it out the door for Christmas, it'd of been even better.
  14. If Traviss wrote anything right, I'd have to say her TCW work, the novelization of the movie itself and "No Prisoners", was best. The novelization generally lampshaded/called out a lot of the movies' problems, while "No Prisoners" basically deconstructed the entire Clone Wars (series and the war itself) by the third chapter, and did so in a way that you could see the point but didn't make the Jedi entirely horrible. As in... the first thing Pellaeon (yes, that Pellaeon) does when Ahsoka comes aboard his ship is make her put some stanging clothes on (keep in mind this was released at about Season 1's tail end)... I couldn't stop laughing at the scene, told from Rex's point of view.
  15. I'm personally waiting for 'multi-class' stories; IE, a Trooper/Jedi Knight story together. Sort of like a flashpoint, but class oriented. For example, the Jedi Knight teaming up with Havoc Squad to do some near-Clone Wars esque defending of the Republic, or the Smuggler/Consular seeking ancient knowledge in some archeological site discovered by the Smug's underworld contacts. Stuff like that to give a sense that there's intertwining stories besides the (soloable) world arcs.
  16. I'm actually disapointed you can't go on some quests with your companions. I can get that with her Bro she wants to go alone, but dealing with the
  17. My guess? The differences are trivial. Compare modern humans to Romans; about 2000 years difference, but not distinct enough that you can really say "neanderthals to ****-sapiens". Probably also a case of no plot relation, no need to deal with it, and its such an ambigious thing that it's probably best not to get involved. Now, I'm sure there's some changes. IE, generations of people living on Hoth would be more adaptable to cold regions, while those living on Coruscant might be more adaptable as far as industrial fumes go, Mando generations are inheritly tough, etc., but its never something distinct enough to be different species. (Note: For some reasons, the first part of the scientific name of the human race is censored; probably censored for when its in the other context. Poor scientists...)
  18. The Jedi really just went for a 'kill them all' approach to the possible methods as far as stopping potential Sith are concerned. Not as in kill anyone who's even remotely dark, I mean they tried to kill any ideas that could lead to it. They saw love/attatchment as one of them because they probably realized how far people with power could go to protect someone they love, and saw the spiral from there. Honestly, I think the Jedi would of been better off to try and teach maturity in this than just ban love/attatchment altogether. Anakin's big problem was attatchment, and in TCW they pretty much establish that the reason Yoda assigned Ahsoka to him was so he could learn to let go when she was ready to become a Jedi Knight. That, I think, is a bit better. Let them learn in a (hopefully) safe enough enviornment that they can rebound, realize how stupid they may of been depending on how they handled it, and learn to accept that they need to let go sometimes. I don't mean become cold and heartless, but at least understand the pain.
  19. Revan has always been a well intentioned extremist. He has the right intentions, but he goes ab-so-lutely nuts trying to implement them. I mean, take any Trooper who's friendly with Elara; if I'm reading what HK said right, even she'd be a target for the droids because she probably has some actual Sith species somewhere up the bloodline (you can't have a primarily human Empire with what, 98% of your people with Sith descent unless it phases out really fast). As for the Great Hyperspace War; can't comment, but Revan at least was always the guy who was willing to do what it took. A bit like Anakin, in a sense, falling towards the Dark Side because he's trying to protect something. The Foundary was Revan's initiative, and I'd bet my Vanguard's shielding that Garza was the one who set him up with all that Republic support; she's definitely in the 'extreme' camp as far as fighting the Sith is concerned. The fact that Republic players don't get a hint that he's going to go do this is a sad thing, as I think a version of the Foundry would be an epic piece for the Republic players: Do they support this effort which throws the morals of the Republic and will cause more civilian casualties than the Empire has caused, probably, or go with him in hopes that it'll save countless more? Plus, it'd be the one time likely that the Light Side option would be to pistol whip/saber bonk someone in that scenario.
  20. If you mean Sith as in force-wielding, red saber using? Jedi Knight. If you're looking for a Sith as in anyone of the Sith Empire... well, take a look at why nine out of every ten Troopers chose the alternative to promoting Jorgan and you'll see an example of Sith-turned-Republic.
  21. That's a good point, but I presume its a mix of Obi-wan is hiding his Force 'signature' and Anakin being too consumed with grief/anger/etc. to properly sense Obi-wan. Or maybe he thinks he's sensing what Obi-wan would want, as he did say "You're lucky that the man you killed would rather you rot in jail". As for Ahsoka, we can assume similar issues, though less grief more 'If you want to gut him, Master, I'll look the other way'.
  22. "Never say no to Bacta". It's basically a wound like any other. A lot harder to field treat, but it's not an instant you-lose-this-body-part-forever strike. You just have to survive (which is the tricky part, of course). Of course, surviving a lightsaber wound usually means they only grazed you (read: Obi-wan VS Dooku in AtoC), or you're just kriffing tough... or you're wearing beskar/cortriss/phrink/insert-lightsaber-resistant-metal-here armor.
  23. This always gets me when people rail on Ahsoka vs Grevious; they keep forgetting that after a few seconds it's pretty clear that it's taking all she has just to avoid dying. Heck, she nearly died (would of if Anakin didn't have Rex set off the demo changes). Plus, I think Grevious was probably playing with his food, to be proverbial. To put it in game terms; Grevious is about to take off the last bits of HP Rex had, so Ahsoka steps in and draws Grevious' aggro. Once she has it and Rex is clear, she runs like there's a crazed cyborg with multiple lightsabers after her so she doesn't get killed in a slug fest she can't win. Grevious follows her, Rex pumps out Adrenaline Rush (He's probably a Trooper) to patch up and gets the glowies with no baddies hanging around to be a problem Anyways; I'm pretty much echoing the 'Old Series was really action, new one is more nuanced plot'. There definitely was plot in the 2D series, but it was definitely focused on action. Heck, IIRC there were some explanations that considerable chunks of the 2D series was meant to be propaganda, and some of it was made prior to Episode 3 (IE, Grevious in the 2D series was made before they finalized him for RotS), so there's that. Really, it breaks down to this bulleted list, in my personal opinion. 2D Series: - Action oriented; it's a thriller, no doubts about it. - It had a good feel of the SW universe, even with less plot. - The scale was definitely meant to be 'hundreds of guys at once' - Overexadgerated a lot. I mean, FFS, Ventress, who's not exactly a hotshot like Anakin, taking out 24+ V-19 Torrents in a span of 5 seconds where explicit ace Jedi like Anakin need missiles to do the same? Artillery platforms exploding just because someone scratched it with a lance? Cool action none-the-less, but stuff like that really breaks your suspension of disbelief. 3D Series: - Plot oriented. It certainly has its action (see Landing at Point Rain), but it is much more dedicated to story. - It clearly shows characters as we really expected them to be. Anakin most notably probably benefited the most from TCW. He went from a whiner to being a hero, pretty much. A brooding hero with serious issues, but a hero none the less. - (Likely due to budget reasons) The series scale is sometimes far too small for a battle; take the Bothuwai battle from Season 1 or the first round at Ryloth in "Storm over Ryloth". The Republic deploys what, 12 V-19 Torrents and the CIS only one squadron of droid fighters at a time? (Not counting cruisers). Kinda hurts your disbelief, but as time went on they got better at the scale. - Too much of a hit/miss series. It's like a glass cannon. If it hits, it's awesome. If it misses... bring out the body bags. However, the misses are becoming much fewer as the team gets used to the series, so it's likely a lot of early misses were a case of early awkwardness. As episodes like "Rookies" show, from the begining they were capable of amazing things.
  24. If you want to get character affection negative, just bring them along and keep picking choices that disagree with them. I got Vik to -84 during the intro quest because my guy just wasn't a corrupt Trooper... of course, a few weapons fixed that
  25. As I understand it, the promotion has nothing to do with the romance. People just think it does. To be honest, if my Trooper knew what all his other Troopers' reasons for promoting Dorne, he's probably shove them out an airlock... without a fifty meter head start. As a Light Side Trooper. (He'll probably just do it in atmo and not while flying, but you get the idea...)
