Well Ilum 1.0 probably was better, because it was equal for both factions. I think the objectives they replaced it with are actually acceptable. There were just some side effects that they should have know about and fixed before introducing it, but thats in the past. My problem with a complete Rehaul is it sounds like making a bunch of new content and adding a new zone, correct me if I am wrong. Once they have that new content if they havent fixed the issues that are making Ilum bad right now, that new zone will be just as bad. If they fix the issues before they introduce the rehaul, then Ilum wouldnt be as bad and its not really as necessary.

Ilum would be alright if it worked as intended, but it doesnt. Its meant to have 2 equal sides and for the game to run smoothly. A complete overhaul would actually take much longer and when it was finished we would probably still have both of those issues.

Ilum 1.0 was not the answer. The PvP may have been better, because there was no zerg, but having a reward system that is hurt by actually PvPing is not the way to go. If they could make the PvP battles in Ilum work well and be fun, then they already have a decent reward system in place. Not that it cant be improved upon later. Fix Population issues and frame rate issues and Ilum would be acceptable.

Ilum isnt very fun this patch had nothing to do with it. Who cares that a new RPRTS game is coming out?

PvP for the sake of PvP needs to work well and be fun, then you can add incentives and something to grind for. They completed step 2 before they finished step 1 and thats why people are upset.

I generally agree with you, but play a guardian in Ilum1 and tell us what you think.

If you are just tryig to provoke people into making a specific response you did a good job, because this is probably the worst idea ever.

It might not need a complete overhaul, but small tweaks arent going to make it fun. They need to identify the real issues and resolve them. The big issues are: 1. population balance 2. FPS If they could somehow resolves those two things it would be much better, those are no small tasks though. The problem with doing a complete rehaul is that if you tried to change everything, but didnt solve those two issues, it would still be bad.

I didnt realize this was an issue. I have a lot of problems with the game, but this isnt even on the list. I guess it pays off playing on the servers with the longest queues when the game launches.

I have had a guardian as a BM for a while now and its great for Warzones or Ilum before the zerg got there. The real problem lies with the population imbalance and horrible frame rate in Ilum when you are near the zerg. It may be different if you are on the zerg side. I had to level a Gunslinger to 50 just to contribute anything to Ilum besides guard and it isnt really much better TBH. I think its more of an issue with Ilum than an issue with Ranged vs Melee. Its true though melee is pretty useless compared to Ranged in big Ilum fights.

Bad idea. I could list the reasons, but Im not going to. I understand the desire to even out what seems to be an imbalance that favors ranged classes, but things really arent as bad as people make them out to be.

If PvP could be done in the forums there would be no reason to play the game. I can and do counter Tracer Spamming Mercs all of the time. If their team is much better than my team I might not be able to. Nothing can be proven on the forums, they can only be proven in game. People that want to debate "facts" or think that being right or wrong is attainable on the forums are ignorant or kidding themselves. If you realized that and tried to prove that you are better than everyone else all of the time in game, you might stop being so bad.

It was a War reference. Warrior Poets Zerg Recruited and Zerged that game just like you did in Rift and just like Im sure you are now. I think your claim to fame back in those days was that you had good fights with PRX who is and was another Zerg guild. I actually play on the same server as them now and they are terrible, just like both your guilds were on Badlands. To avoid hiding and calling someone out while being anonymous. Just to end this my point was based on your intentions you could have worded your OP a little bit better if you were interested in a good debate. You could have brought up a pretty good subject, but to me you came across like you just wanted to complain and thats why I am not going to add my 2 cents on the actual subject. I may be way off. If you were actually trying to debate rather than complain I THINK you should have aproached the subject differently. Take whatever you want from that.

If you were open to the idea that tank+heals wasnt the best comp your OP would have been very different. Why would I try to add anything to a discussion you started and have already decided the outcome of? I am open to exchanging ideas with people who are actually willing to listen and want to consider what other people have to say. You have obviously already made up your mind about what you think and are just complaining.

No your right, they are usually not even matches, the mismatch can work for you or against you though. Every class is easy so saying it takes no effort is a bad point. They can do good DPS, but being good DPS doesnt make you OP.

Some people like to have goals to reach and still focus on a specific role. The fact that they encourage everyone to do everything, by making most medals pretty low might not something that everyone likes.

They are never OP, but some people call anything they dont like OP so it depends on your definition. Are they easy kills? It depends. How good is your team? How good is their team? How good are you? How good are they? Who outplayed who? There is no magic button that lets them win every encounter and there is no magic button that is a guaranteed counter. Its just another class that performs a role, I dont see what the big deal is.

I was going to call you names and tell you why this was such a bad idea, but after thinking about it I dont really have a problem with it. It kind of takes away a reward for winning, but winning should be its own reward. What changed my mind is that you didnt try to blame your losses on anything other than the fact that your teams are being outplayed by the other side. There is no reason you shouldnt be able to get gear for time spent playing just like everyone else. Anyone who is against leveling the gear playing field is afraid of competition, which means they might be bad. I support your idea.
