There are other ways to be competitive in raiding as well. Its just not the same type of contest. Raids arent a contest where people compete directly. What I mean is my performance doesnt have any effect on how well the person I am competing with performs. Thats really the biggest thing that make PvP more competitive if you ask me.

It is not your right to have anyone you choose play with you. All parties should willing participants in any in game endeavor. So of the ways people filter who they want to play with are kind of ignorant, but its their right to do that. It bothers me that people advocate taking things like this out of the game so that they can group with someone who wouldnt want to group with them otherwise.

Why does that term bother you? You couldnt possibly be claiming that there arent people who play games at a much lower skill level than others.

PvP and PvE are different skill sets. Ive done both and enjoyed both. I like PvP more personally. You can be good and bad at both. People who prefer one and say that the other takes no skill are wrong. PvE is a scripted fight, but its not going to make any mistakes. PvP you dont always no what to expect when fighting a person, but people also make mistakes. If I had to choose I might say that at the highest levels of competition PvP might require more skill, but the difficulty of PvP is relative.

Your problem is that you place blame for people actions on things rather than the people who commited those actions. Elitism should not be thrown around the way most people use it. There are people who take games very seriously and dont really want to play with people who dont take it as seriously as them. Then there are people who try to be ******es. Its possible to be one without being the other. I personally dont think their is anything wrong with the former.

Pretty much sums it up. There are two reason I can see that someone wouldnt like recount. They either dont like people using it incorrectly and calling out people who dont deserve it. Or they are against people being called out for reasons that they deserve to be called out for. If you dont like recount and you claim its for a reason other than those 2, you are probably lying.

It can be used for things like this but idiots and ******es are going to be idiots and ******es with or without recount. Recount shows what actually happened, taken with a grain of salt of course. Either the person pointing out someones flaw was wrong in the way they interpreted the data, or the person being called out deserved to be called out. Its not recounts fault bad people use it incorrectly.

Meter are a convenience and they can be used incorrectly. You dont need a meter to tunnel DPS and ignore fight mechanics. They only show what they show. DPS meters alone can tell you some good information without having to do much work which saves time and energy. Meters like recount can give you lots of good information as well. Meters not being able to tell you everything and having to use your brain to understand things, based upon those meters and other things that happen during the raid that meters dont show doesnt make them bad.

DPS meters dont instantly make anyone good, but the only reason people could have to be against them is they dont want everyones DPS easily available for everyone else to see. A = A You can come up with all sorts of arguements or put downs you want on either side. You either want everyone to know everyone elses DPS or you dont. If you are against everyone knowing everyone elses DPS I implore you to give me a reason why that makes you sound like a good player. And the argument that only bad players need DPS meters is ignorant and is just a bad attempt at trying to turn the tables on reality. Meters neither help nor hinder your ability to deal damage they only show you what you and everyone else is doing.
