  1. Currently, 200 surge rating. 250 - 350 crit rating.
  2. Generally speaking the fight should not be close. Obfuscate basically ***** on Pyrotechs for the first 6 seconds of a fight so hard it should be nearly impossible for them to recover.
  3. It's a common client-server sync issue with many games that appears very obviously when your target is using a movespeed buff (cough, Force Speed, cough). It's usually pretty predictable if you're watching for it though. Sometimes I end up doing a 360 when I land and spam my attack until it lands though. Sigh.
  4. Reasons why charge doesn't "work as you think it is intended": #1: Dodge dodge dodge dodge. #2: Client-server sync.
  5. Heh. Pyrotech: As stated, Obfuscate destroys Pyrotech. If you don't use Obfuscate versus a Pyro, reroll an easier class. It's like an auto-win button, especially at the start of the fight when the Pyro dumps a lot of attacks to burst. The only threat a Pyro really has is if they burst Rail Shots on you before you press a defensive cooldown because you got cocky. You should be using Obfuscate on every melee-range, single-pistol, blapp-sfx BH. Even if they're not attacking you. One button cripples them harder than it does another Marauder. Shield Tech: Make sure you rotate your defensive cooldowns slowly, and Berserk every time it's up. Self heals > tank spec. A Shield Tech PT is like a tank assassin that can't heal themselves. E.g. /zzz.
  6. I don't know for sure, but many seem to imply it is random. Worth testing ... someday.
  7. Slight buff for Marauders, mostly around the Obfuscate / Disruption changes.
  8. 1/2 already gives you 50%, plus whatever Cloak of Pain or Defensive Roll you have going. The last 20-30% damage reduction is superfluous. Also, Camo gives you 100% damage reduction to targeted direct attacks as a baseline. It also gives you a good chance to dodge AOEs with the run speed bonus. Stop wasting talent points giving yourself 157287482x safety nets you don't need.
  9. This is where you shift to abstract assertions about the capacity of individual players. This is incorrect. Your argument requires that the player in question has perfect awareness / interpretation of all the actions in the scenario. This is far from reality. In the event that the player has to make a decision with imperfect information (e.g. all the time), the question is how much information a player needs to process to identify a reasonably good decision. For a Marauder, whose decision components rely on "counter attack" or "pro-active mitigation", the player needs to interpret more information than other classes whose decisions involve abilities that give the player initiative (e.g. anytime non-channeled stuns and alpha strike damage mechanics). They need to use their options in more creative ways. I suppose those ways could be construed as "more options", though, but that's parsing words. All the problems are not perceivable, recognizeable, or communicable. You can shadow box all your life, but the real deal is going to be slightly different. True, if a person were able to perfectly interpret all inputs, then they would never make an incorrect decision. Too bad this never happens. I believe we both understand the general parameters of the discussion. However, you seem to have a low bar of / underestimate what it takes to completely observe/understand/interpret a situation in "real" PvP.
  10. It's hilarious that you repeatedly highlight the worst PvP -> PvE gear tradeoffs and try to pretend you actually know what you're talking about.
  11. Why are people ************ about a class designed to excel in 1v1 winning 1v1s? Sure BioWare could shave off some of the DPS around the edges -- and probably buff the +armor% talent for the non-tank stances -- but, shrug? It's not a big deal.
  12. If you mindlessly copy what random scrubs with poor analytical modeling on the forums state as fact, you're just bad. Then again I have players like you to thank for getting me my 5k hit medals.
  13. I have the silver/grey and red versions. The main problem with it, IMO is that the width of the helm is wider than most. Looks rather awkward on most chestpieces.
  14. Tbh I think he was looking for responses like: "A SORC STUNNED ME WHILE I RAN THROUGH THE FIRE, MARAUDERS ARE OBVIOUSLY OP".
  15. I value Seeping Wound higher than Malice, but that's a reasonable tradeoff. Note that Malice only increases your relative chance to crit by 6/(30+15+(100-30-15)*.33) = 10% (you get 10% more crits with 3/3 Malice than without it).
  16. Every point investment has an alternative cost. In the eyes of good economic analysis, you are giving up an alternative investment for your 2/4/6% force crit.
  17. I love it when I'm randomly spec'd Carnage for trololol and I see some Watchman/Anni dude training on some random person on my team. I walk up with a full rage bar all quiet-like, and 100->0 them in 4.5 seconds with a little RNG.
  18. And what are you giving up from Annihilation to get that?
  19. Because 30% damage reduction from AOE attacks is better.
  20. The "point" seems to be that "wow, why are people complaining that Marauders are overpowered when tankassassins are too stronk?" However, the point becomes very unclear when the situation cited includes some epicly fail Marauders who probably need re-learn how to play PC games in general, nevermind SWTOR or the Marauder class in particular. I apologize but I was unable to progress past that point in the facetious example.
  21. L2camo / choke / roar the FL. Oh, and get some Acc/Crit rating.
  22. How is Blade Storm more effective when it's now on a longer cooldown with no other changes? Isn't that obvious? You never played Focus against good groups, did you? You have a chance of more refunds on crit Slashes, so the spec is more Slash-spammy. With Berserk, you should actually gain 3 focus when the new talent procs in conjunction with Focused Slash. The net sustained DPS is probably the same, with marginally higher instant spike on the Sweep, but you lose the 9-18 second high-pressure AOE sequences.
  23. You should just go through my post history and copy, say, 1/3rd of it.
  24. 1. I already do. 2. Pretty much, except for Ops, because Ops still have a 15% run speed buff, and a snare, and they cleanse your Rupture, all at the same time. So you will still stack the Cripp to snare / buffer against cleanse.
  25. Considering we're talking about jackalbad, I wouldn't doubt it. Whitney Houston music has its moments.
