  1. I'm 27 thanks for asking. I'm not really sure what connection my age has to do with calling the devs bluff. I personally /who'ed over 20 servers during launch, checked swtorprogress/forums, etc, finding a balanced server to roll my characters on. I haven't seen one server where Republic massively outnumbers Empire, meanwhile the reverse trend is normal occurrence. If you can provide one single server where Republic outnumbers Empire at least 2:1 (devs: "Huge numbers advantage"), I'll take my words back.
  2. How about you give me that magical server name where the so-called huge Republic overpopulation is occurring, and I'll go check their fleets. I need at least 2:1 ratio which is very common reversed in Empire's favor for many servers. Go on.
  3. The devs are either lying or clueless. There are NO servers where Republic has a significant majority over the Empire. It's either close (on RP-PVE/PVE servers) or super-outnumbered (PVP).
  4. There are no Republic-heavy servers unfortunately, thanks to Bioware's design. Your best bet is to find an RP-PVE server where Republic/Empire ratios are somewhat on par. Empire has the numbers advantage in every other server type.
  5. Bioware put half as much effort designing Republic as they did Empire. You can see that in everything from storylines, gear looks, saber-colors, fleet design, mirror abilities all favoring Empire. They still don't admit, as you can see that they have no plans to fix Ilum, which favors the zerg faction (Empire on most servers). And planning even more same-faction warzones because Imps are too "inconvenienced" playing Huttball all the time.
  6. They don't even admit that they put so much effort designing and hyping up Empire compared to Republic. From the storylines to gear looks to class mirror abilities all favoring Empire. And LOL at his ambiguous statement: "either the Empire or the Republic has a huge numbers advantage" What a bad liar. There are NO servers out there where Republic massively outnumbers Empire. Give me the name and I'll check it immediately right now. Republic only outnumbers SLIGHTLY on RP-PVE servers. Everything else from PVP to PVE servers I have seen go from 2:1 to 5:1 Imp:Rep ratios Still no answer on all the borked class mirror abilities not being mirrors. Project vs Shock. Full Auto vs Unload. Mortar Volley vs DFA. Dirty Kick vs IA stun. Each of these have dozen-thread discussions. Still no answer on Ilum favoring the zerg faction, and just being all around terrible.
  7. Because Bioware spent half as much effort designing Republic as they did Empire. Everything about Republic feels half-baked and unfinished. That and the endless commercials and videos hyping up Empire. Basically this is a repeat of the Warhammer fiasco.
  8. Nice run of the numbers, OP. And pretty accurate for most servers out there.
  9. Everyone is entitled to their opinion as everyone here is a paying customer whether you like it or not. There are A LOT of issues with the game right now, and anyone able to post here has the right to complain. So either don't read those threads or deal with it. Want to discuss strategies? There are lots of subforums for that.
  10. It's comical how they try to lay the blame on us, when they chose to ignore tons of feedback submitted since beta, like the warzones wins not counting and a myriad of other bugs. We pay 15 bucks to play the game, not test crap for them. They don't even provide a friendly PTS environment, no character copy, no 50-premade. Do they really expect us to level a character everytime 1 - 50 in PTS just to get it wiped out, and all the feedback subsequently ignored?
  11. Bioware is really making a habit of taking down servers multiple times per week. And everytime they patch something, they introduce new game-breaking bugs. I'm really starting to question their ability fix things...
  12. Bioware trying to lay the blame on us for "not enough feedback" is simply irresponsible. They chose to ignore tons of feedback issued since beta, yet they have the gall to point the finger at us about not getting right the cooldown graphics. Testing stuff on the PTS is us doing a service to them, not the other way around. We don't pay 15 bucks a month to test the game for them.
  13. You are simply being obtuse. Believe it or not, WOW IS the standard for MMOs, at least them-park ones. Players compare it against WOW, game media/critics compare it against WOW. Bioware devs themselves acknowledge that most of TOR's features are taken from WOW (check out old videos of Gordon Walton discussing WOW's success in the early stages of TOR). If TOR wanted to escape all these WOW comparisons, they should have made a truely revolutionary game: SWG-style sandbox, no factions, meaningful crafting, true player economy, no trinity, no same pvp-raid endless mill grind.
  14. This is an old interview and Gabe didn't really acknowledge the faction imbalance. He just basically said: "IF there is faction imbalance, we will uhm..think of incentives" From the massive population imbalance, mirror classes & stories all favoring Empire, and the terrible state of Ilum, you can tell this guy is totally clueless about the state of the game.
  15. It's sad that long-timers such as MercArcher are becoming more and more disappointed with this game. I feel the same way. I was hoping to make this MMO my home after becoming disillusioned with WOW, but it seems this game is way worse with the imbalances, blatant Empire favoritism, and extremely repetitive and boring endgame.
  16. Can't you just change all gear to require something like X warzone / Y mercenary commendations like every other MMO does? The point is we don't want any RNG at all! We're simply tired of playing the lottery with the bags all the time. RNG doesn't the make the game harder, it doesn't reward skill, it's not fun. All it does is make gear progression completely UNRELIABLE and FRUSTRATING. An unlucky r60 player still sporting 2-3 piece Champion and the rest Centurion is not fair versus a freshly-dinged 50 who was lucky and straight got 6 Champion pieces from just a week of warzones. Understand the point? Get rid of the RNG lottery bags!
  17. The problem is not that they constantly put down the server for maintenance. It's a new game, we understand that. The problem is that their patches don't even actually fix half the things they claim to fix. Claim to have fixed performance issues? They aren't, and now it's even worse with new crashing and d/c'ing issues. Claim to have fixed warzone win not counting? It was a "miscommunication" and turns that patch note which was up for two whole weeks was a lie. Now we have new bugs/exploits introduced with every patch, like the warzone exploit where a premade can deliberately have more than 8 people on one side, forcing the "not enough players" countdown (even though the other side has 8 players) and getting easy under 2-mins win, which the devs STILL not acknowledging.
  18. I was already considering dropping Synthweaving for Biochem. Good thing I held off till I read this news. Excited to hear about crit-crafted orange gear and the ability to pull out all the mods from current purple gear.
  19. Hard to take this developer blog seriously when they claim to have fixed the Warzone wins not counting in this patch, yet it still happens, and it also introduces new bugs and exploits. Check out this thread, tons of people still experience Warzone wins not counting towards the daily: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=257011 And this new patch introduces a new exploit of allowing more than 8+ people in the warzone, causing an instant win in under 2 mins. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=258511
  20. Any SWTOR forum veteran should know that ProfessorWalsh has been warning Bioware MONTHS before the game launched, telling them to stop the "Imperial Hype". Lots of people dismissed his idea as crazy, saying that Republic would be overpopulated citing examples like Alliance in WoW. Now he is proven right, and Bioware still has their collective heads stuck inside you-know-what. The Ilum "band-aid" won't solve a thing. Imperials will still be dominating Ilum after this server maintenance. They will just camp outside the Republic base, and Reps still won't bother showing up as no amount of skill can defeat 10 vs. 200.
  21. Making WZs cross-server will either push Imperial queue times sky-high, or go from 80% Huttball to 100% Huttball. If cross-server queuing is implemented, you can kiss Alderaan and Voidstar goodbye if you play Imp. Apart from a couple RP-PVE servers, there are NO servers out there where Republic are a majority. PVP/PVE/RP-PVP all have Empire majority with PVP servers being the most imbalanced.
  22. They are too busy making same-faction Warzones to notice.
