  1. I would resub in an instant if SWTOR allowed me to buy: - Sith armors available to wear for Republic - New ships - Ship customizations - Purple and white crystals - Bring back the Korrealis mounts or make decent-looking vehicles.
  2. That Cathar is still in the game. Jedi Master Quilb is the NPC in the Tython Jedi Temple who you deliver the baby flesh raider quest.
  3. What is shortsighted is expecting every single player to have a bunch of alts, or expect them to level one even if they are not interested. A lot of people like to stick with their mains and are not interested in playing other classes, they like to focus and devote time on the class they like. So what really is the downside to have rewards appealing to every class? Nothing, apart from developer lazyness.
  4. Color crystals were usable by everyone, no matter how much difference it makes visually, the stats are useful, unlike bowcasters where melee/pistol classes cannot equip it at all. If you don't understand that concept, you have no hope. Stop posting.
  5. I guess Windows 8 is another OS most people will skip, just like Vista. Guess the Golden Rule of using Microsoft OSes, "skip every other OS version" still holds true.

  7. Now you went from touting yourself as a super important and serious "guild leader" to "wildly successful business owner". Pro-tip, if you feel the need to insert your "credentials" in every message, you just look insecure and most importantly, no one here cares what you are IRL and no one is interested in joining your fascist guild. And then people keep pointing out from your own examples that you don't seem to know what "zero-tolerance" really means.
  8. Players wanted KOTOR 3, not a WoW-clone with story slapped on top. So no, Bioware didn't give players what they wanted.

Any MMO can be successful if the developer is humble about it, keep it realistic, understand your audience, and just make a unique and niche game that your core fans enjoy, instead of trying to cater to everyone out there. For example: why does EVE Online retain a healthy number of subs even after all these years? It understands its fans love the open space, spreadsheet-strength economy, and no bars-hold PVP, so it continually improves upon that formula, instead of trying to shoot in all directions. Why does LOTRO remain successful? It has housing, crafting, great RP-friendly atmosphere and mechanics. Something which sets it apart from other games. What does SWTOR offer? Just story, story, story. That's the only thing that sets it apart. And worst of all, it spent hundreds of millions of dollars mostly on story and VO alone. But that's not sustainable. The other end-game stuff is mediocre compared to the competition. It could have been a very successful single player game. Maybe single-player game of the year. The KOTOR 3 that everyone clamored for. But noooo, Bioware got greedy. Instead, Bioware thought it could just copy WoW's mechanics and just add story on top, and then try to pass it off as a competitive MMO. Sorry, but you can't out-WoW WoW.
  10. For the limited slots, that's easy to get around. I could just create another F2P account to play another class story. The only incentives I think that could be enticing to new players are Operations, and good looking-customizable gear. Currently the races are one of the weak points of SWTOR and not incentive enough, because they're all just different colored humans. If they had playable Wookies or Jawas on the other hand... So the problem is, apart from the story, SWTOR has very little to offer in the endgame, compared to the other F2P titles out there. So, yes, selling additional story would be key, but that's pretty darn expensive with the voice acting and all, and I don't even know BW can pull that off anymore with the dowsizing and all.

  12. That's not what I said. I said the "main attraction", the distinctive "fourth pillar" of SWTOR, which is the stories, is free, then there is little worth to be paying a sub for. Please reread my post again. Or here, let me copy pasta for you:

  16. Why subscribe? When the game goes F2P, there is really no need to. As Taugrim mentioned in his latest vlog (which I highly recommend to watch): , Bioware is putting SWTOR's crown jewel, the storyline content 1-50, for free. You get to pay for the boring, grindy stuff like Operations and PVP, things which other MMOs do much better. The meat and potatoes of this game is experiencing the leveling, the stories, and the voice acting. And this is all planned to be free.
  17. The only game worth paying a lifetime sub right now is LOTRO, but they don't offer that anymore. LOTRO has managed to retain a strong RP community, and part of that success is how they included many sandbox elements like Housing, Actual Crafting, Events, etc. Elements that also made SWG stand out. I don't see this happening with SWTOR.
  18. Good to see at least someone understands the difference between just requiring DirectX 11, and ACTUALLY taking advantage of its features. Unless the game is very graphic-intensive, which SWTOR isn't, there really isn't any point in updating to Dx11. It's almost like pontlessly updating a program from 32-bit to 64-bit, when the program internals don't even need 64-bit space or calculations.
  19. Yup, when you are in charge of a game that has spent hundreds of millions of dollars, only to have it turn F2P just after 6 months, the executive board WILL find someone to skin alive. Someone high up in BW had to stand in front of the chopping block, and I believe poor Greg is it.
  20. The quality of the class stories varies wildly with only a few ones worth experiencing like Imperial Agent, Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight.The rest range from meh to terrible. Take it from one who has experienced almost all the classes' storylines to 50. So it depends on which class you picked up.
  21. Like Leggomy says, "planned long-term vacations" for top executives like Greg are usually codespeak that their time with the company has come at an end. Not always, but it happens a lot.

  23. Saturday Night also means prime time for MMOs, where it has the most people playing out of the weekend. But good job trying to impress people that you somehow have a life in an internet forum lol.

Even though GW2 is traditional fantasy (and I am bit of sick of fantasy due to the game oversaturation), I will be playing it instead of SWTOR because I am disappointed with the direction the game has taken. Many of my friends have stopped playing SWTOR back in March, with only me staying because I paid for 6-month subscription =.=, foolishly believing that this game would turn around for the better. I have 4 50s, completed all their storylines, and have no desire to keep rerolling alts. I participated in operations pretty heavily when my friends were still playing and got to see Karagga's and EV and even done hardmodes, got one character to War Hero but the same 4-warzones over and over again got too boring. With the F2P announcement and the massive loss of subscribers, I am seeing the writing on the wall, and I do not foresee any meaningful content to come, just cash shop items. I was hoping to continue my classes' storyline, but SWTOR has already been considered a failure by EA and tossed to the F2P bin. Many people will probably play GW2 alongside with SWTOR because the former is B2P and that's fine. However, since my time of the day is limited, I only play MMOs one at a time. So I will be playing GW2 with my friends in the coming months.
  25. Problem is, WoW's playerbase is massive enough that they can take a significant drop in subs while they take their sweet time making content. SWTOR cannot afford that.
