  1. I'm not new to PvP, i have vengeance jugg, shield tech tank bounty hunter, vigilance jedi knight, engeneering sniper, deception assassin, and other classes, these mostly valor levels from 75-80. Yet my gunnery commando around valor 65, in full war hero, with some elite pieces, gets pwned like there is no tomorrow. Sure i'm ok (and just OK) dps compared to some other clasees i play, but thats only if i can play a stationary turret, which is almost never. It almost seems is anybody even looks my way in pvp i fallover dead. I have literally had operatives get on me and stunlock me from full health to dead, with me maybe getting in 1 attack. Anyone got any tips to help me on my gunnery commando, or maybe something i'm doing wrong...your help is appreciated.
  2. Really...just buy a weekly pass off the gtn for 100-150k, play for 7 days, make around a million creds selling medpacks from the warzone commendations, buy more weekly passes from gtn +profit = problem solved.
  3. I don't see why people don't see this debuff coming. Swtors taken many of its systems and designs from WoW, no one can deny that. If anyone remembers wow, it was a 30 min debuff for leaving a pvp zone....and that even includes THE YEARS where there were 40 alliance vs 15 horde in alterac valley, and all horde wanted to leave and re-que because it was fruitless. (though eventually it evened back out after the lich king came out) So at that point, people in a lossing match did just what you described, went next to a tree and stayed there the whole match, and went and watched tv or made a sandwich, if the team won GREAT, you still got rewards too, if not... setiing afk in the battleground was no worse than setting afk in the city because of the debuff. They stopped that action too, people were then allowed to mark you afk, and basically boot you from the battleground, you had like 30 seconds to respond by getting tagged in combat etc. People act like this debuff thing has only been talked about in swtor, and its never been implemented anywhere else. Not only has its design been implemented, but has been done so by the king of mmo's. It's just a matter of time before it happens here.

  5. Are you on crack? Seriously? Insane DPS as a tank....lololololol. Very difficult to kill..lololol. DPS can use the same taunts i can, and A tank gives up about 80% of its damage to get about 10% more survivability over the same class dps, in my case bounty hunter. Bioware seems to care less if anyone plays a tank, look no further than these very boards to see the host of tank/pvp threads, and how there are no true tanks left in pvp. because the damage/survivability tradeoffs are so wacked.
  6. Healers almost get all the votes on my server. Never want votes? Try playing a tank, then cry some about votes and selflessness.
  7. Totally agree, faction imbalance wouldnt be an issue, because of ques and tenacity. No one really likes illum the way it is, pvers hate it, and pvpers don't like it, because its ffa. only people that really like it are groups that form up to camp singles trying to do the pve, and they will eventually get bored of it. This could have been so much more than it is. If this had been set up like a wintergrasp, everyone would have been excited, and devs gettin g high praise, but things is as it is. Just hope its a learning experience for them, game still in the 2 year growing pains.
  8. There i said it. Faction vs Faction fighting over actual objectives that matter for actual rewards that can only be gotten there. Whether that be items, toys, armor, weapons, trinkets etc. Or winning side getting access to quest, raids, etc. while they controll it. All this new illum is is outlaws den 2.0 This is not pvp. In pvp if you or your party get ganked or camped, you can call others in your faction to come help you. In illum they will just come kill you too. What is the purpose? There is none. Illum could have been Tor's version of wintergrasp, but instead its outlaw 2.0
  9. To be honest...did anyone ever REALLY expect this to be free after you had found out you had to pay for your own holiday items/experience? If you expected this to be free your either naive or deluding yourself.
  10. But we have already bought the BMW with our sub....to frame your analogy would be we bought the BMW, but they want to charge for the steering wheel, lights, gas tank, heat and air.
  11. Lotro does this all the time when you complete deeds (achievements) and i don't think there are doing too badly over there, actually they are doing great.
  12. 31 Bounty hunter tank in tank gear here. Leveled as shield tank questing/pvp all the way up to 50. My thoughts on the bh shield tech is as follows. 1. Your not going to kill anyone...your not dps. If you want to kill anyone even in recruit gear, play something else. Do damage from your attacks, because you are doing damage, but thats just not your role. 2. Find a healer, guard him and know your guard range, stay in it, fight in it. stick to him like glue. 3. if someone is on your healer, attack them, not the dude in the corner. 4. always be casting your taunts...think of casting your taunts off of cooldown even before an attack. 5. use your jet charge every time its off cooldown, you will get 2 free flamesweeps, and can add a third and not really that big of a heat, you are the node saver....no one caps while you are there. 6. You are very hard to kill, but you will eventually die in a 1 vs 1, so don't do that, if left alone you can guard a node long enough for help to arrive and probably survive. backed by a healer you are nigh unstoppable, as he only has to heal you some...giving team mates most of the heals. 7. Ive had same healer on my bh tank in tank gear, and my dps jugg in dps gear, and there is not even a contest of who will live the longest, bh wins handsdown...and if tank is alive, healer is alive and healing. if your dps and dead, you'll probably meet your healer at the spawn point. 8. I don't believe in stance dancing. I think if your not running the stance that your supposed to be running, your actually a hindrance to the team, because alot of spec abilites require you to be in that stance to work off of. Hate to make a WoW reference but learned along time ago....sure a shadow priest can heal, might even be beneficial at times to do so....but he shouldn't pop out of shadow form to do so, because its more beneficial for him to do his job and dps, which is what he was made for. 9. You have to search yourself and see what you really want. be a tank or be damage, but there is no way to be both. As a tank your not going to get many MvP votes, because no one really cares about the protection stat, so you'll be the unsung hero, because every votes heals first, followed by dps. I can't tell you the number of games where my bh tank got most medals, most protection, and not 1 vote, so if mvp is your thing as well, might want to go dps. 10. There are very few shield techs, so use that to your advantage, 95% of bh are either pyro, or advanced proto, so they are not going to espect you to have a jump, this is killer in huttbal, when you go into the lower levels with ball, jump to someone on the edge, carbonize the whole bunch, and score 11. Playing shield tech tank in pvp seems just more rewarding to me, knowing that by my actions, with my healer we probably aided a very great deal to the teams win, i don't get that feeling on my dps jugg, even though alot of timesi'm first place in medals and get lots of votes...the same feeling is not there. 12. Whatever route you go for tank ot dps, try to make up your mind before you start buying gear, so you don 't have to aquire 2 sets of pvp gear Most of all just pick what you are going to have fun with, at the end of the day swtor is a game and is about having fun, and thats exactly what you should do.
  13. Are they really wanting everyone to roll assault/pyro?? Gunnery was bad enough before about getting away from people or putting distance between us and melee, but now it has just gone beyond retarded. I'm specced into concussive force, and stock strike doesn't stun anyone in pvp, and concussion charge doesn't knock anyone back in pvp...neither works, and i have pvp about 6 hours and neither worked any time i used them regardless of rersolve. Upon asking Gen Chat...the response was working as intended...as stock strike stun and knockback from concussion charge only apply in pve.....lolololol. So i guess if melee ever makes it to me i'm just fubar right? more so than i even was to begin with. Atleast with assault/pyro i can run and gun and not have to be a stationary target.....so what exactly is the point of gunnery in pvp now...to be a free kill for the other side???????

  15. If this went through...just who in thier right mind would ever play a shield tech in pvp. Its already been said about a gazillion times on the pvp forum, playing a tank in pvp is gimped, and you want to take the one thing that makes the holdouts keep going tank and make it baseline...The question then becomes "Who in the heck is so retarded that they wouldn't play pyro". You'd be getting 500k trade in damage on pyro, vs 150k damage from shieldtech in matches, and still get the jump, the thing keeping the shieldtech holdouts; the holdouts. You would have to give shieldtech something just as awesome as you think jump is to replace it, to make it base line, a quicker cool down on grapple ain't it friend. Do you just not want anyone playing shieldtechs in pvp? Thats what this change would lead to.
  16. Thats why people are always told "if your playing sorceror dps is in pug L2P AND RESPEC HEAL" which i heard atleast 15 times just yesterday. If its broke...even by measure of other players that aren't even your class telling you that it is...it needs to be fixed.
  17. The juggs that you see getting 500k damage at the end of the warzone are rage spec, the juggs getting 150-250k are vengeance, and the 75-150k are immortal spec. So lets make rage even better, and give them more tools to give even more damage, when they don't even need it. Even before all these new buffs go in effect thiere are entire guilds that will not let you do rank pvp unless you are rage spec, can you honestly imagine what it will be like when these rage buffs go into effect...it will be the case of even in a pug pvp match if you play anything other than rage (they wil definately know because of your numbers, they already do now, let alone when buffs go through) that pvp pugs will be telling you L2P or L2SPEC Noob. Is that really good for the game or the jugg class? That in no case whatsoever will a ranked team allow anything other than a rage spec (almost that way now), and even in a pug if you are not rage you will receive more smack talk than the guy that wanted to pvp in his level 42 greens. I'm all about giving buffs to jugg where they are due....but its not the rage spec that needs it, its vengeance and to an even greater degree immortal.
  18. I'm a vengeance jugg who mostly pvp's. Vengeance was already told we were gimped in pvp compared to rage, so why in the heck is rage getting buffed, and vengeance and immortal not even getting touched, and they are the ones that need it? Isn't that backwards? Why was a buff to rage even thought of and put on the development board, when it don't even need it...the other two specs did. beyond rediculous.
  19. a tank in tank gear does FAR FAR FAR worse in damage than a tank in dps gear but have the same survivability...which is utter bull, no one can effectively argue that fact. The game is broken in that area. The problem is tank in tank gear gives up almost all his damage to receive a negligible amount of tanking ability. A noob with a can of beer in one hand can effectively kill a tank with just spamming buttons, because a normal rotation will yield a great nember of attacks that the tank can't even defend against, making the purpose of tank stats on his armor utterly retarded They should either. 1. Get rid of all PvP tank stated gear altogether 2. Boost all damage abilities coming off of that gear so a tank be on par with others that are not so gimped. They should really just get rid of all the pvp tank armor all together, and not let people gimp themselves. Yes, i chose tank armor route long ago too hoping and having faith that the devs would change this and make tanks in tank gear effective in thier role in pvp....but as time goes on i think they either don't care or have adopted a "working as intended" design descision about it. In the end Tanks are the only role that when choosing battlemaster or war tanking gear for thier role/character, totally bork themselves...and thats not right by any stretch of the imagination.
  20. They can't mess with core bounty hunter abilities without borking the shieldtech tank in pvp, which already is already borked.
  21. barring the fact that a hybrid jugg is really a dps, in dps gear, trying to be tanky...does not a tank make. A jugg tank is full 31 immortal and in tank gear...you should base all assumptions from that fact first.

Never knew that about vote kick for afk...i'm wondering how it is that certain guilds that que for pvp are able to boot someone from the team that they don't want there or they don't like...i hear of this happening atleast 2 or 3 times a day in gen chat. Either way I would be interested in seeing if the hard core raiders, doing top end raids would say anything about people wearing PvP gear to thier raids? Albeit if pve gear and pvp gear as said being relatively equal.
  23. isn't it really a moot point, because the vote kicks begin the moment someone realizes that someone is wearing pve gear, when the starter set of pvp gear is free? and even if not the pve'er will get shat talked so much in the game and general chat that they become known as the pvp noob, that will not conform and cost the team matches, and who wants there character or legacy totally borked like that?????
