  1. Commandos/Merc's cannot use Shield Generators, which means that the only defensive stat they gain from tank gear is Defense itself. - PvP Tank gear gives about 153 defense, which i believe adds about 7% to ranged and melee avoidance. - Fully PvP tank geared Commando/Merc would have about 12% melee and ranged avoidance. (5% base) - Sage/Sorc got base avoidance of 10% for melee and ranged. I would say that the case here is that the hard to kill commandos/mercs you've faced have just been nearly or fully PvP geared with high expertise + biochem stuff, while the people trying to kill him have had few or no PvP gear / poor gear in general. Just a guess
  2. The game costs money, because it's not free to develop and make a game. Multiplayer games cost money monthly, because it's not free to run the servers that it requires. (Someone pays for that CS or BF3 server you're playing on. In MMO case, you.) Singleplayer games don't cost any money after the purchase, because it doesn't cost anything for the developers either.
  3. Not quite. I've won many times and on each of the warzones without healers, against teams with healers. Teamplay and common sense > having a healer (when it comes to winning a game). I'm not saying that because i hate healers, i'm saying that because it's true. My highest level character IS a healer, tank following it closely in levels.
  4. Tanks guarding a taget will lower the dmg taken on that target by 50% (and take the other 50% themself). Players taunted by a tank will deal 30%(?) less damage to targets other than the taunter(tank). All tanks got AoE taunt with ~45sec cooldown and single target taunt with ~15sec cooldown. Both taunts will last 6 seconds on the target(s). That 4k Demolution Round of yours just become a 1400 dmg one (on your target, the tank took the other 1400 dmg), thanks to the tank doing their job.
  5. When i'm playing my Vanguard and lower someone dmg taken by 50%, and even further 30% with taunts (be it healer or someone else). I do not expect thanks for it. That is my job. When i'm playing my Commando and keep people alive by healing them. I do not expect thanks for it. That is my job. That doesn't make you MPV... Where (on the map) and who you heal matters, not the ammount of healing done at the end. A healer with 150k healing done can have helped your team more, than someone with 250k. Just saying...
  6. You don't know what you're talking about. But on-topic: Companions do need a buff in my opinion. At least the healers/tanks. Currently my Dorne is around 1/4 of what human healer would be, which is not enough. And it's not because of gear, she got nearly full custom(orange) gear that got 33-35 blue quality mods on it, which equals to 37-40lvl greens. I'm 37 Vanguard, i got 9.9k self buffed health. Dorne got 1 cast time heal (heals around 500), instant aoe heal (heals around 500), a HoT (heals around 130 / tick) and instant that heals around 500 with 30 sec cooldown(debuff). Where my friend sage heals for ~1.3k on cast time heal, channeled heal healing for ~600 / tick, HoT that heals ~200 / tick... And my friend can cast the heals more often without going out of force, while my companion have fairly long cooldowns (4-11sec on) ald heals like 50% of what players heal... Also the AI needs fixing, because comps use AoE even if it will hit CC'ed mobs. (they shouldn't)
  7. This make me happy panda! I was leveling slowly so i don't have to replace my orange armor as fast, but now i can keep my look and have end-game gear with set bonuses!
  8. And i've eaten over 10k burst from a Juggernaut. Don't know which abilities he did use, but i saw -4.4k and -6.2k on my screen... 1.5 secs time in between them... And seeing a melee class doing couple 3-5k crits doesn't seem that OP to me when Sniper/Gunslinger can get similar numbers FROM RANGE. Ya ya stealth this, stealth that. At least Troopers on republic side get AoE stealth detection skill that lasts 10 secs with 20 sec CD. So i would assume that BH does have similar skill too. Thus "no counter to stealth" is invalid argument. It's a team game, not 1v1 game. No i do not play scoundrel/operative myself. I played Commando, and recently rerolled Vanguard as my friend started playing this game. So i'm not saying this because i would be afraid that my class would be getting nerfed.
  9. Torhead lists EVERYTHING with augment slot.
  10. And to prevent raiders being able to dominate in PvP because they cleared all the PvE content.
  11. World of Tanks got no repeative quests It got no quests at all, just xp grinding for higher tier tanks
  12. Most, if not all of those bugs/issues were in beta, and carried over to the release. I thought that beta was there to find and eliminate bugs before release...
  13. If i'm not mistaken, most (if not all) of the Flashpoints/Operations got entrance inside the Fleet, or in similar safe zone. So LFG finder (even if server wide only), wouldn't really touch world pvp. I could be wrong as i've only done instances up to 40lvl.
  14. How many years was SWTOR under development? 0?
  15. Because they are competing against each other as they are NOW. This few weeks old game is not competing that other game and what it was when it was few weeks old aswell. This newly born(=released) game is competing against what it is now. Any player playing game X or Y that hears about SWTOR, will OFCOURSE, compare SWTOR to that game X or Y and what it does offer NOW, when they decide which one to continue playing.
  16. If you pressed pass or greed, that gives others the hint of you not wanting the items for other than money or not at all. And that Smuggler might have seen you pass/greed for it and thought you don't want it at all, so he pressed need.
  17. First only those who pressed need will roll for the item. If no one pressed Need, those who pressed Greed will roll for the item. Pass means you don't want that ugly item in your inventory at all. If everyone passes the item stays in the corpse. Need's and Greed's do NOT roll against each other.
  18. Where did this myth for huge PSU needs come from? I got AMD Phenom II x4 955(BE, I believe - don't remember anymore) -Stock clocks Ati HD5770 M.S.I Hawk - Slight OC 4Gb DDR3 Corsair 450W runs the system fine. That is what "experts" did recommend for me when i custom built my PC couple of years back. And they have not been wrong so far. They say that PSU that sits on 10-40% load will most likely not live as long as one that sits on higher (~60%), as that's how they are desinged to work (when it comes to longevity and noise levels) I do not know how power hungry i7 is compared to my CPU, but would seem weird if that system would need much higher than my 450W (or higher than that 600W), as your GPU is the same as mine (just different brand). BF3 runs on mix of high/very high. Skyrim runs on ultra. SWTOR however, got problems on defaults(medium?) with shadows disabled... edit: Even with dual 5770's, i would say the same. What tests have showns (google some ) 5770 on 100% load eats 107W (i can remember the number wrong, however) and it's not often it sits at 100% non-stop.
  19. Want != Need Want = Greed Edit: Yes, wanting something and needing something are 2 different things, incase you didn't get it.
  20. But when no one else needs for companions, and yet you do, wont that imply that you keep your work more valued than others in the group? edit: What i mean is; If no one else needs for companions. You do and are asked not to. That doesn't make your work less valued than others, that makes it equal. As they are not doing it either. If everyone else would be needing for companion gear, and would ask you not to. THAT would mean your work would be in "less value".
  21. True, you can, just like you can here (some people are doing it). But i much prefer to change to my off-spec (dmg) and kill the mobs in few seconds, over staying in my healing spec and take 20 secs to kill that very same mob. Heck, even i've done stuff without companion at lower levels because he's running UW trading missions while i quest. Heck as far as i remember on my commando, at least up to tatooine, my companion got like a shot or two off before i had killed the group. So he was really doing nothing for me. Ps. Grouping all the time is not impossible. I've IRL friend i play with when i'm playing my vanguard = i'm always grouped.
  22. Eldren; World of Warcraft supports dual-specs, which means you have 2 builds and with click of an button can change between them. In that game, just like in this one, different builds prefer different stats (thus different gear). That secondary off-spec is part of your character right? For most of the classes it's also the build that they use for solo content (tanks/healers at least). Yeah, just like your companion is part of your character and tool for solo content. However, try your luck and start needed stuff for you off-spec (equals to your companion here) over someones main-spec (equals to your actual character here), and you'll end up blacklisted fairly quickly, and kicked out of the group. And changes are very high you will not end up grouping ever again with the same people. Also, if you happen to be in any kind of decent guild, and it's server build instance/raid run, you will end up beging reported to the guild leader and kicked out of the guild. (seen that too) (during DFT instances, if you ignore someone, the tool wont put you in the same group with that person ever again) In that game i've seen couple people like you, and never seen them again after that. Thanks to the ignore function and how it works with dungeron finder. Slightly off-topic; Eldren, you're the most selfish, arrogant and greedy type of person i've maybe ever seen in game forums, when it comes to things like this. It is not meant as a insult, even though it might sound like one. Your kind is the reason why there is wars at all. Really, that is true. Why you think there has been wars? Becase faction X or Y doesn't simply like the other? No, there is always resources/money/power/lands involved in it. The greed that is strong in you too. I've never needed an item for off-spec in WoW (~7 years of it even) over someones main spec. I've never needed gear in this game over actual players, just because my companion can use it and it's better than it does have. I've never had any need to have best in slots items for my companion while leveling, i'm doing fine with commendation gear (with left over comm's) as well as mission rewards. Or in some cases by crafting the gear my self (droids and cybertech). If none needs on a item, I always ask if it's ok to need for X or Y reason. You're doing group content, the items there are meant to make that group content and other of equal levels easier. Your companion is part of your solo gameplay, which gives you rewards that are meant to make solo content easier. Use those for your companion(s), those are more than enough. Also, if you were about to do that flashpoint again with the same group, you would have gained nothing from the last run, because the possible upgrades are now on your companion and not on the people doing the flashpoint. Instead of people doing more dmg / taking less dmg and so on, making the next run easier and faster.
