  1. Star Wars IP... Lucasarts... BioWare... EA... All majorly impressive. Really. Watch any trailer and be blown away... Be completely amazed at how truly awesome the stories and characters are... Play the game and experience a not-so-great game engine (#neverforgetIlum1fps), and extremely stiff, choppy and clunky combat... Trip back to late 90s and early 2000s online gaming... Devs, think maybe about time to do this IP justice and elevate this game to next gen standards? Star Wars IP maybe deserves a powerhouse engine? Fast paced and fluid combat? Improved AI? Maybe get this game out of the online gaming dark ages?
  2. personal... preference... maybe?
  3. I didn't know that. well, good luck with your wish list and don't get your hopes up too high.
  4. How about this to start instead... 1. replace the terrible game engine so the game runs better and the devs have more options to create content for large groups of players. 2. make combat controls, movement, camera, attacks... less clunky. 3. cross server pvp queue and option to play the map that you want. 4. see guild wars 2 world vs world pvp. 5. your stuff...
  5. or you could just move out of the area and interrupt/cc/attacks the stationary sorcerer...
  6. unfortunately the game engine cannot properly handle any kind of mass pvp or pve. also,"fleet wars" will never happen. ever.
  7. are you aware that you can move out of the damaging aoe and attack the channeling sorcerer who is standing still?
  8. From the bottom of my dark side heart, I would like to thank you all for adding in companion lockboxes! Since you guys and gals are in such a generous and giving mood now, would you please allow us to convert our basic comms into elite and ultimate comms?
  9. we need a better engine to have any fun and meaningful world pvp.
  10. Corruption- While their healing is superior to the other two disciplines, apply pressure and make them move. Movement causes them to have extremely limited healing and attack options. Force them to bubble up early through cc and burst and watch them burn through their survival tools. Their heals will only slightly prolong death compared to Lightning and Madness. Lightning- This discipline has terrible healing, but makes up for it (not really) with burst damage output. Fortunately for you, this spec is forced to stand still to be effective and their burst damage sucks comparatively. Force them to move and bubble up early through cc and burst, and watch them burn through their survival tools quickly. Madness- This discipline has terrible healing, but has mobile dot application. Fortunately for you, the dots are weak and can be purged. Similar to Corruption and Lightning tactics, force them to move and bubble up early through cc and burst, and watch them burn through their survival tools quickly. Also, fortunately for any melee class, Sorcerers do not have any threating melee options. Get in their face while using your cc and burst, and watch them burn through their terrible heals (except for Corruption) and survival skills. Another also, Sorcerers and Sages only shine when their team covers them so please don't complain about these classes when you see them in the background standing still and free casting. Have a great day! edit- been playing around with lightning and it is more mobile when you get proc as others have mentioned. sadly, though, the ability to have any beefier attacks while moving is not dependable and overall the damage is still poor comparatively. same tactics to kill a sorcerer still apply.
  11. it's been over 2 years and nothing short of an engine upgrade will do the trick. sure, they can make some performance tweeks (such as opening inventory without stuttering), but this game will always run poorly.
  12. looks like sorcerers and sins need some buffs to stay competitive.

    BW Take note

Players have had their fingers crossed since alpha and beta. The only hope is that bio uses more of their 200-300 million budget next time to make or buy a better engine for Star Wars: The New Republic coming in 2050.
  14. another example of poor planning.
  15. The only reason you all won't run and record a steam is because you know you will get destroyed by any competent player(s) without a great team to back you up. gl peeps, keep up the unnecessary complaining that won't help the development team move forward.
  16. stop making excuses. we all know screen shots and edited videos are meaningless because they do not show the whole picture, and that's not what I'm asking for from anyone here. players are overdramatizing sages and sorcerers and claiming they are opcheesemodefacerolleasyunkillablegods who can singlehandedly out heal any attack, have mega burst compared, can cc opponents to death and live in their untouchable bubbles while casually laying waste to every other class or team of non-sage/sorcerer players, so I want someone to step up and provide the proper form of factual evidence. if they (or you) want something nerfed, then make those recorded steams and unedited videos to present to the devs and show that these classes are truly the indestructible walking death stars worthy of the nerf hammer so players can stop popping anxiety pills whenever they see a sage or sorcerer in warzones. edit- also, I'm not blindly devoted to this class. I played at launch for a while and leveled a sorcerer first and have zero interest in making another class because the combat (and a bunch of other things like engine, lag, responsiveness, movement...) in this game is absolutely terrible. I recently subbed for 2 months because I was bored, nothing more, and I have come back to the same whines about these subpar performing classes that read 2 years ago.
  17. Actually you do need to provide factual proof (best with unedited videos and recorded streams against competent players in all pvp modes) to the developers and intelligent players because they don't work off of hearsay, screenshots or board stats. Anything short of doing these shows nothing but a whine and cry forum post from certain player who like to cherry pick information because they are subpar at playing their class. You want sages and sorcerers nerfed hard? Then you need to provide unequivocal proof (again unedited videos and streams against competent players in all pvp modes) and documented evidence that sages and sorcerers are op/faceroll easy/unkillable/gods... against every other class in every scenario particularly solo (that means without hiding behind a team to hold you up).
  18. I challenge you (or anyone else making claims that sages/sorcerers are op/easy mode/gods/unkillable) to run a twitch stream and make a video library to show your sage/sorcerer face rolling people in solo, ranked, 4v4 and 1v1 duels as proof of your claims. I would particularly like to see you (or anyone else for that matter) dominating against competent players solo (solo means without a team to protect your squishy and non-bursty backside).
  19. I challenge you (or anyone else making claims that sorcerers are op) to run a twitch stream and show your sorcerer face rolling people in solo, ranked and 4v4 as proof of your claims. Feel free to run a sage stream as well. I would particularly like to see you dominating players (without a team to back your squishy and non-bursty butt) when you face off solo against classes that are smacking you around with 10k-15k bursts.
  20. Sir, Game lag, ability delays, movement delays, frame rate drops... have been there since launch. It is disappointing to see a $300,000,000 game (with the largest and most epic IP that should have the best and most fluid combat of any game out there), that earns $100,000,000 yearly, to have such a poor performing engine. I sincerely hope that some major overhauls to the engine and combat are in the works, especially before you all make your big marketing push come fall and winter of 2015. Thanks
  21. Simply put, the Shadow of Revan expansion has opened the door to a third playable faction. There would be tremendous pve and pvp gameplay benefits in doing so, and undoubtedly create stronger retention for players. All the bare bones stuff (lore, classes and npc characters) are in place to make this a seamless and sensible addition now. Imagine this (oversimplified idea description below) for the next expansion or near future update... -Order of Revan controlled planet, bases of operations and fleet. -Faction change missions. -Pve missions against Republic and Imperial factions. -Cross server open world pvp with objectives for 3 factions (see gw2 world vs world gameplay). -Cross server warzones for 3 factions. -All the other normal fluff such as new gear, creatures, yadayada... Thoughts:rak_02:
  22. It's nice to see changes to classes after all this time, so I'm hoping that bio can take this opportunity to spruce up the way combat feels. I understand that the game was originally designed with the "wow formula" in mind, but the combat in the worlds largest and most epic ip should not have such clunky and choppy "stop and go" battles, casting, attacking and movement. Honestly, if bio were to make combat fluid, they would have one of the best combat systems out there. Thoughts? Edit- Easy example to explain what I'm talking about... swtor classes meets gw2 combat (fluid with freedom of movement and no global cool downs) and has a baby
  23. apparently the current champion gear on live will be superior to the new recruit gear. you can find that info in the dev tracker. from dev tracker...
  24. bioware promised us "heroic" and "just plain exciting" combat, so this is a step closer in that direction. also, par for the course and another necessary rebalance to provide players with a richer combat experience.
