  1. Thanks for your post. If nothing else it serves to continue keeping this thread bumped!
  2. Solution: Complete the maps. It is obvious that free-flying mounts would require additional map rendering and a ton of coding work. Would it be worth the time and effort? Absolutely! This would be an enormous quality of life improvement! What I really think is that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. No matter what is done in any game there are going to be people who complain about it. That is a moot point. I would argue then that the primary reason why SWTOR lacks flying mounts is not due to lack of textures and map support. It is due to lack of budget. I do not play WoW, but I do know that it integrated flying mounts into their game a long time ago. I know that it started with a limited area specifically designed to accommodate flying mounts but I didn't know that they spent the next several years phasing it in to the entire game. What does that prove? You can do anything when you have a proper budget. Keep in mind that the point of the Suggestions Forums is for players to voice their ideas about what we want to see in this game. We can argue, debate and rationalize over the logistical challenges it may impose on the dev team, but remember that overcome challenges is part of their job. Integrating anything new into the game is going to pose challenges. Every MMO out there faces the same challenge in adapting and evolving to meet the demands of its player base. What makes SWTOR unique is that it sports the most universally recognized brand name known throughout the entire world. Flying speeders, skiffs, starships? Winged creatures? Hell yeah! It's a no-brainer! This isn't just any universe. It's Star Wars. Most of us would love to see this happen. I think the biggest frustration is that EA is putting Bioware Austin in a financial stranglehold. Considering how many billions of dollars in revenue Star Wars generates, I think it's a damn shame SWTOR doesn't get the support it deserves.
  3. We have been asking for flying mounts for a long time and I think this is something the Devs are capable of doing at least in some capacity. Back in vanilla, mount selection was very limited and all of them had the visual look of something designed for ground transport. It may have been boring but at least it made sense, but over time the devs released more unique and elaborate vehicle designs with many of them obviously looking capable of flying. I can't speak for the rest of you, but seeing a starship mount lumbering around on the ground looks very absurd and awkward to me. As a player I want the satisfaction and experience of seeing those vehicles fly in the game. SWTOR was ground-breaking on many levels, but I think the original architects of the game fell short in providing players more interesting and satisfying options for traversing the various worlds. I wonder what sort of logistical issues made them decide not to incorporate flying mounts? After all, the game does have a taxi system that allows players to travel from point to point, albeit being on a fixed route. I really do believe that flying mounts can be achieved to at least some degree. For starters, why not assign maximum ceiling heights to some mounts? Class 1 speeder: Ground level Class 2: 5 meter maximum ceiling Class 3: 10 meter max. ceiling Class 4: 20 meter max. ceiling You get the idea.
  4. This is an excellent suggestion and I support it wholeheartedly! I would be very excited to see a "Near Human" addition of some sort, whether that simply include exotic new skin colors and tattoos added to the Human customization options, or perhaps even adding a Near Human option as an additional new race. I would be perfectly content having Near Human skin colors and some exotic tattoos added to Human customization options. It would offer us diehard Star Wars fans so much more range and freedom to create those Near Human races that fans have been familiar with for years. Personally, I would absolutely love to be given the proper options to create an Arkanian Offshoot, with their stark white skin, white hair and white eyes. The current Human options fall just short of the mark, but fails to achieve the visual look I desire. Having additional skin tones like full white, full black, and a nice selection of exotic colors would be very awesome. I know a lot of people who would be ecstatic to finally have the option of creating a Zeltron, or other Near Humans like Pantorans, with their gold eyes, blue skin and yellow markings. This is low hanging fruit that could translate to a nice boost in sales if it were offered on the Cartel Market. It would be such an easy thing for the Devs to implement! The only minor hang-up I can think of pertains to class story, as some select dialogue choices are specifically written for players who choose to play an alien. If the Devs were even worried about a detail like this, I definitely think adding a new player race called "Near Human" would be the best way to go. Players would be given a template similar to humans except that all the skin tones would be entirely exotic, and there would be a unique selection of facial markings/tattoos that would include features exclusive to specific Near Human races: Pantorans, Kiffar, etc. I would still love to see some more iconic alien races added. Duros, Nautilans and Bothans would all be great, but Near Humans would be at the top of my list. Devs, please make this a reality!
  5. This is something I've been wondering about as well. I love SWTOR, but there are so many inconsistencies rampant throughout the game it feels like a neglected dam that keeps springing new leaks. It's very frustrating that simple little things like grade 8, 9 and 10 utility decos still haven't been added to Conquest Rewards or that Grade 10 mats still haven't been added to the Jawa Junk vendors. Devs, it is long overdue for these crafting nodes and Grade 10 mats to be included. Remedy this!
  6. I would love to see this! Great idea. Much like other pets, with their varied skins and color options, there could even be an entire series of carbonite pets that included male and female versions from a variety of species and class archetypes. Frozen humans, Rodians, Twi'leks, Zabrak, etc. and frozen Sith Lords, Jedi, Bounty Hunters, Troopers, etc. It would definitely be an awesome novelty pet for both RPers and non-RPers alike.
  7. I thought about that as well; adding a Z axis to vertically situate decorations would be a useful and welcome addition. For starters, having a Z axis for vertical positioning would enable us to adjust decos that would otherwise clip through other decos. For example, having a Z axis would allow us to place a Twi'lek dancer on top of a Hutt Lounger, or any variety of personnel or pets on top of larger decos. A Z axis would also be useful in areas where the Devs got lazy and placed a collision box that isn't quite level with the surface, resulting in charcters either sinking slightly or foating in the air slighlty. Being able to vertically adjust decos would help to remedy that.
  8. It's kind of a shame that the first sliver of GSF news we get in over 3 years is already being received with some derisive commentary. It'd be nice if people could take a pause from the same old nitpicking and simply acknowledge that we are finally seeing something from the Devs after such an agonizingly long time. I think most of us have learned to quell our optimism for any new development on GSF, but maybe this small move is a precursor of better things to come. Will bug fixes be next? I'm starting to get curious about Keith's pending roadmap. Dare to dream...
  9. Xina, Thank you so, so much for having the patience and stamina to compile this list. You seriously deserve a commendation for putting in the exhaustive work to bring this information to the forefront. It must be noted that there are additional glitches and inconsistencies that go beyond this list, including mounts and their corresponding hook assignments. While in the process of creating a flight simulator scene for my Imperial Agent's stronghold, I made the frustrating discovery with the following Kalakar Simulator mounts: Kalakar Advanced Simulator: Floor Medium, Floor Large Kalakar Escort: Floor Medium, Floor Large, Floor Medium Narrow Kalakar Strike Fighter Simulator: Floor Large These Kalakar mounts are all EXACTLY the same size, with the only difference being their paint jobs. It exemplifies how inconsistent things are and how it ultimately effects our ability to use these decos. I have no doubt that there are other inconsistencies to be found among the hundreds of other mount decorations. If there are any devs out there reading these posts, it is very important that your team realize players do not enjoy having to rummage through this convoluted mess that presently plagues the decorations catalog. This system is in dire need of an overhaul. All of these problems are the result of poor oversight and sloppy management and we need you to FIX THIS!
  10. When compared to the base costs of strongholds, I think it's a perfectly fair request to have the dev team adjust prices of starship unlocks to be more in line with their stronghold equivalents. With the advent of strongholds personal starships have lost some of their relevance since both support many of the same features, with strongholds having the popular appeal of player customization. It also didn't help that KotFE and KotET effectively removed class story companions from the ship altogether, turning them into desolate ghost ships. There is even a thread posted in the Suggestions forum titled "My Ship is So Lonely!!!!" While starships still offer Space Missions and Training Dummies as exclusive features, and while they are still essential to cut scenes, it would be great if we could at least populate them with companions again and it would be even greater if they added some additional features to make them more relevant once again.
  11. There is no reason why the devs couldn't deliver on this. It is a request that many players have been desiring for a long time. Somebody mentioned in a post somewhere that the Devs apparently stated it wasn't feasible because it would interfere with cut scenes. If that is truly their rationale then the guys who said that are being extremely short-sighted. If they can not find a way to code our existing starships to support custom decorations, how about providing players with a independent facades of the existing starship layouts that function exactly the same as other strongholds? Devs, the point here is that players want to customize their own starships! It's a cool idea. Most of us don't have the means to acquire Guild flagships, and even if we did, those things are enormous! The freighter-sized starships for each character class are far more suitable for solo decorating. Seriously. Do it.
  12. I support the idea of doing something fun and interesting with pets. SWTOR is the first MMO I ever played and when I unlocked my first vanity pet, the first question I asked myself was: What is this weird little thing supposed to do? What is it for? When my girlfriend explained to me that vanity pets serve no other purpose than just being a token vanity item, my immediate impression was that they were wasted potential. I think a lot more fun and interesting stuff should be done with pets in this game. One option would be having them provide some very minor, non-combat related buffs such as little increases to XP, or faster out-of-combat health regen, or a teeny-tiny percentage increase to loot drops or resource gathering, or perhaps decreasing a trash mob's aggro range, etc. Another idea for pets that I think would be loads of fun is borrowing from other MMOs like WoW and having some kind of "Battle Pets" optional mini game or some other clever mini-game that features pets. I think it would be a great little addition to the game.
  13. These are all really great ideas. One of the frustrations I've carried for many years playing this game is the lack of of interactive furniture, especially on hubs such as Fleet and Strongholds. The only instance that comes to mind where players have an interactive chair they can click on is in the pilot seats on personal starships. I would love to see a quality-of-life improvement that enabled more furniture, including strongholds to be interactive. Clicking on couches, chairs, beds, tables and having a few options to select from several animations such as eating, drinking, relaxing, talking, sleeping, etc. Sadly, I get the impression that the Dev team puts the RP community low on their list of priorities, despite the fact that the RP community tends to get a lot more out of playing this game than the average player. SWTOR provides so many fun and immersive locales that serve as great backdrops for stories to be told. While the game does provide an assortment of emotes for sitting, and sleeping, I would much rather see a system that enabled players to interact directly with existing furniture. A narrative / emote would be nice to see, especially for general RP on places like Fleet. The current work-around that I use is to create a custom channel where I can type out my narrative, but that can only be seen by people who join the channel. I wonder if anybody has ever created a channel called "Narrative"... Maybe that can be a workable alternative? I have also encountered the frustration of custom emotes not working cross-faction and would love to see a fix to this.
  14. Great idea. Cartel Certificates have become very difficult to acquire since they are no longer included in cartel packs. Having a better chance to win them with the slot machine would be awesome.
  15. Keith, I hope you and your team are reading this. It has been almost 3 years since Galactic Strongholds launched back in August 2014 and during that time many stronghold enthusiasts have encountered quite a few frustrations and problems that are currently inherent within the system, including limited locale selection, an acutely frustrating hook system, and many inconsistencies with classifying and organizing decorations. Regardless, there is still tremendous potential for strongholds and I would really love to see some major expansion on this front. The focus of my post will center around 3 major areas for improvement. 1) A revised hook system. Players would benefit tremendously if this were further expanded and improved. While I would prefer to see some sort of snap-to-grid interface instead of hook tiles, the ultimate idea here is that players need additional options for customizing their hook layouts without being restricted to the limited hook templates presently available in the game. Nothing is more frustrating to a stronghold designer than having their creativity hindered because of poorly laid out hook tiles. I can think of no finer example than the main temple of the Yavin stronghold, where only 5 large hooks are provided despite having enough space to accommodate 3 or 4 times that amount, or any combination of centerpiece hooks or even a starship hook. Players should be given the option of designing their own custom templates that can allow for additional combinations of hook sizes to be arranged however we wish, including floor hooks. I would also like to see the X and Y slider values further increased from 20 to at least 30 or 40, or possibly more. That may sound dramatic but for those of us who dream of having large bulky decos like a Droid Engineer Work Bench sitting flush against a wall, an increased value range would be a great benefit. 2) An improved, more accurate system for organizing and classifying decorations. This is an area where I have noticed a lot of inconsistencies that make the process of finding decorations time consuming and tedious. The following is a wonderful suggestion by a forum member named Darkside to revise and streamline decorations. You can read his full post here. 3) A stronghold for every planet featured in the game. Currently there are around 28 planets featured in the game. I would like to see a stronghold option available for each and every planet. Why stop with just planets? Additionally, I would love to see an option for Fleet housing on Carrick Station and Vaiken Space Dock, or living quarters aboard each faction's fleet vanguard vessel. Yes, I understand that there are limitations from the coding side of things, which is why we presently can only have 5 active strongholds (bumped up from the original maximum of 4). What I'm talking about here is a major expansion on selection and options. Imagine a massive stronghold directory that lets you purchase a stronghold for every planet. Players would still be limited to keeping however many active strongholds that game can handle (5? 6? 10?). Below are just some simple stronghold ideas for each planet: A Jedi retreat on Tython A Sith tomb on Korriban A safehouse on Ord Mantell A battle front on Corellia A toxic lake on Quesh A refinery on Balmorra A corporate office on CZ-198 A castle on Alderran A mansion on Makeb A seedy apartment on Hutta A frontier homestead on Taris An underwater complex on Manaan A remote outpost on Hoth A crystal cave on Illum A prison compound on Belsavis A desolate ruin on Iokath or Ziost A wilderness camp on Odessen A Kaliyo-inspired apartment on Zakuul An Alliance outpost on Iokath A pirate cove on Rishi A secluded grove on Voss An oasis on Darvannis A small living unit on Carrick Station and Vaiken Space Dock Not every stronghold needs to be as expansive as Tatooine or Yavin 4. Many stronghold locales might work better in smaller settings, such as a Hutta apartment, consisting of only a few dingy rooms, or living quarters aboard each faction's space station. Strongholds could be classified into small, medium and large categories which would be priced accordingly. Miscellaneous Ideas A Save feature. Every stronghold would have an optional feature that would allow players to save their layouts and reload them at any time. Need to deactivate a stronghold but don't want to lose hours of time and effort in your design? No longer a problem. Just reload one of your scenes whenever you reactivate your stronghold. A day and night setting. Daytime hours and evening hours available where applicable. It would be nice to see the Coruscant skyline in the evening or Nar Shadaa during the day. Climate Options. Rain, wind, snow, fog, smog, sandstorm, thunderstorm, blizzard, autumn leaves—each stronghold could have its own unique environmental effects menu. Texture skins. Would you like to see your Dromund Kaas stronghold dirty and dilapidated? Would you prefer to see your Nar Shaddaa sky palace painted in more lively colors? Provide more diverse texture options to help stronghold designers create evocative scenes. Some may think I am dreaming big here, but considering it's 2017, humankind has sent rovers to Mars, and cars are starting to drive by themselves, I hope that what I outlined is within the realm of possibility for SWTOR. The Star Wars universe has always had so much to offer in terms of exotic locales, and SWTOR has been an important platform for fans to experience this fictional universe we love so much. Players like me would love the option of inhabiting more of the worlds we have come to know through the course of this game. My hope is that the dev team can rise to the challenge and give our community more creative outlets to explore.
  16. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only player who has been frustrated by these holo effects being applied to personnel. I can't help but feel that the people making these decisions are being very short-sighted. Strongholds have the potential to offer so much more if they were given more thought and consideration by the Devs. I think it would be wonderful to see a new, innovative feature added for personnel decos that included a list of preset animations and special effects filters (such as "holo image") that can be applied to each personnel via a drop down menu. A feature like this would offer an incredible amount of range and versatility for creating interesting scenes to Strongholds. For example, every personnel and companion deco would default to a basic standing pose, but the animations drop down menu would allow players the option to change poses: pacing, flirting, gambling, threatening, cowering, patrolling, joking, sitting, sleeping, etc. A feature like this would dramatically improve the fun and immersion that can be had with strongholds.
  17. I support this, and want to thank the OP for offering very thoughtful and excellent suggestions. I have been experiencing the same frustrations with the present limitations on decorations, especially with the Coruscant and Dromund Kaas strongholds, which, despite being smaller than Yavin or Tatooine, I think offer a lot more thematic utility than more isolated and exotic locales like Yavin and Tatooine. I also agree that Strongholds should be unchained from the current conquest system and be allowed to cater more to people who actually enjoy designing and arranging strongholds. I have seen a disappointing number of strongholds listed on the public registry that have nothing but basic and trophy art decos spammed with no rhyme or reason other than the sole intention of maxing out the deco limit so the player can get their full conquest bonus (why these people choose to list them in the public directory, I have no idea). This is a prime example of a fun and creative game feature being overshadowed by a Conquest system being exploited by power-gamers. This is perhaps my most favorite suggestion and echoes the frustrations I've been experiencing with the way decorations are currently organized. The present decoration list is in dire need of a thorough, comprehensive review so that appropriate corrections can be finally made. Having a Decorations Collections feature would be a HUGE quality of life improvement! There is an alarming amount of inconsistencies present with how decos are categorized and what hook sizes they occupy. It seriously gives me the impression that the devs who are in charge of coding the parameters of each deco have never decorated a stronghold in their life. There are several dozens of decorations, including mounts, that need to be assigned to their correct hook type as well as classification. For example, there is a "Voss Altar" decoration that is currently listed under Furniture: Tables despite the fact that other similar decos are listed under Civic: Structures. There are holographic tree decorations with one listed under Technology while the other is listed under Environmental with the only difference between them being that one is blue while the other is green. It makes the process of hunting for decorations extremely frustrating and very time consuming!
  18. I think this is a great idea. Many of us put a lot of effort in acquiring weapons and armor sets and having a means to display them in a stronghold is an awesome idea.
  19. I support this. A big part of the fun of playing this game is having as many customization options as possible for character creation. I'm a very big proponent of quality of life improvements and having more options for Cathar hairstyles would be great. Additionally, I would love to see more customization options for every race, including more exotic skin tones for humans and cyborgs for players who wish to play Near Humans such as Zeltrons and Arkanians, amongst others.
  20. I like this idea. I play on an RP server and have utilized pets to help add some color to the storylines I create for my friends. It would be a lot of fun to have custom names for pets! I recently learned that World of Warcraft has a mini game where players can have their pets battle each other. I think a mini-game like that or perhaps some other kind of interactive pet feature would be a fun addition to the game and make the use and collecting of pets a little more relevant.
  21. I appreciate some of your frustrations but please keep in mind that there are also many of us who happen to enjoy PvP and GSF. I am not particularly fond of PvP but I don't condescend other people who happen to enjoy it. However, I am very passionate about GSF and find it one of the funnest things to do in SWTOR. Some of these activities may not be enjoyable for you, but please don't assume that we all share in your sentiment when it comes to PvP and GSF. We still have to wait to hear what the Dev's have to say is in store for us this year in their next livestream on 1/24. So far I haven't been very impressed with Uprisings. They seem to be smaller, gutted versions of FPs and Operations, with the difference being that FPs and Ops at least had some story and cinematics to make it more memorable. I would definitely be disappointed if the only thing they have to offer us in 2017 are Uprisings. Cheers to that!
  22. I would love to see more in-depth interaction with companions, including special dialogue and additional story scenes with whomever you choose to romance. One of the inherent problems that developed with KotFE and KotET was the dev team's decision to let the majority of class-story romances go by the wayside in favor of focusing on their main cast of characters: Lana, Theron, Koth and Senya. Because of that, most players who married one of their class story companions have been kept in limbo with regards to their spouse's fate. Despite several class story companions who returned and played a role in the events of KotFE and KotET, there are many still unaccounted for. We are presently left wondering what happened to the others and, also, whether or not the Devs intend to bring them back. If they do, will it be in the form of continued Alliance Alert missions? It would seem the most logical format so I would hope that's what they intend to do. I think it's a shame that the Dev team decided to change course on their original vision for KotET. My understanding is that they were getting criticism for the story being bogged down by too many "filler" chapters, so they decided to trim the fat and just cut to the chase by focusing on the main plot and disregarding the remaining companions. If that is true then I think it was a poor decision. I would have preferred they added as many additional story chapters/Alliance Alert missions as necessary so ALL class story companions could get their featured moment. That being said, I also wasn't keen on the idea of having to level multiple alts through the same story over and over. Unfortunately, the consequence of the Dev team consolidating all 8 class stories into a single generic story about the Outlander's fight with the Eternal Empire is that it ultimately diminishes the replay value. Despite KotFE and KotET's emphasis on story choice it is still essentially the same story with just a few different variations. Personally, I can probably run through the Outlander storyline about 4 or 5 times before I start getting burned out and lose interest and begin to see it more as a leveling hurdle for my army of alts. I wonder what lies in store for the future of SWTOR? Now that their story experiment is over I can only hope they will shift their focus back to other, long-neglected content, especially GSF and Operations. I would also love to see the addition of new Strongholds, more Flashpoints, a variety of quality-of-life improvements and especially the return of all those neglected companions who were kept out of KotET! If the Devs ever decide to produce more story content I would really love them to revert back to original format and produce more content for each of the 8 classes again. I would love to see a mature and talented writing team build on what was done before and go to a deeper level with all 8 character classes, including more nuanced and dynamic interactions with their original companions.
  23. Some really excellent ideas! A Guild Finder as described would be welcome tool to have and I really liked the idea of developing some kind of prestige system that could help give players a better idea about a guild's overall membership composition. I concur with some of your suggestions regarding companions and companion customization. I've filed a few tickets addressing the inconsistencies with customization that came with KotFE. Your suggestion for making companion customizations bind on Legacy would be an easy and much needed fix. I have also wanted the option of allowing most companions to wield any weapon. I think it would be a satisfying QoL improvement to remove the weapon restrictions for companions. Part of the fun in this game is design and customization so players should be given as much versatility as possible, especially since gearing companions is no longer an issue and all this is purely for aesthetic enjoyment. Personally, I was disappointed when I discovered I couldn't equip Master Ranos with a pair of vibro-blades because she lacked the requisite skill. I smirked a bit when you mentioned giving male Twi'leks conical ears like their female counterparts. Believe it or not, male Twi'leks are indeed supposed to have ears and not ear cones. I think I just learned this a week or two ago while randomly reading the Wiki on that species. Giving humans a few more exotic skin colors to achieve the near-human look would be great. In general I think it's overdue for some new cosmetic options for all playable races. I also would like to see more playable species added. I personally would love the option of playing a Duros. The Legacy System can definitely benefit from some streamling, though I still get plenty of use with my ship unlocks. I hang out there sometimes and use the practice dummies while waiting in between queues, crafting, shopping the GTN, etc. It would be nice to have some additional options and variety for starships. Once again, customization is key. These are all opinions shared by many of us. Without getting into detail here, I personally feel that the Strongholds hook system and decoration management is in desperate need of an overhaul. There seems to be way too much short-sidedness from the Devs on this front. I get the strong impression that the people who churn out these decos and who assign what hook types are appropriate for each decoration have never actually decorated a stronghold. The inconsistencies drive me nuts. The spa decoration would have been nice if it was indeed downsized to a large, or if the Devs were considerate enough to give us more hook layout options in our current strongholds. When I have more time I'm going to post more about this in the Suggestions thread. And, yes, a Manaan stronghold has been one of the most popular requests and we can only hope these guys are listening.
  24. Well... like... that's just you're opinion, man. GSF is great and space missions are fun, too. I'm surprised to learn they haven't already been integrated into Galactic Command. Isn't the whole point of the system to give every player a path to earn CXP by doing their favorite activities in the game?
  25. I support this. For those fretting over what legal hurdles the Devs may face in trying to accomplish this, the simple, easy workaround would be to go for subtlety. The Devs could design a stylized statue, perhaps something similar to the Statue of an Ancient Jedi and inscribe an epitaph that reads something like: "Our beloved Princess. May you find peace with the Force".
