  1. Legacy Names have been around for a long time now and I think it could use a few tweaks. I don't like having the same surname for every character on my server account. As a role-player I would prefer an option that allows players to keep their Legacy name separate from their character's individual surname. I would like an option to grant any character I create a surname that is unique to that character rather than be stuck with one surname that is branded on all characters on my account. My suggestion would be to allow an extra option for players who wish to add a different surname to their character. Players could select either their Legacy Surname or create a new, individual surname to use instead.
  2. I like this idea. It definitely has some potential but I imagine the work required to expand the Stronghold concept into various starship maps might not be viable. Additionally, I think it would be very cool to convert the existing Starship maps into a customized Stronghold layout. The basic layout would remain the same but players would have the option to install additional decorations for that added personal touch. I am a big proponent of player customization at all levels. Having the means to indulge my creativity and imagination is a big part of what makes games like this enjoyable for me.
  3. The OP has some excellent suggestions. Since this game emphasizes and encourages playing several alts, it becomes very cumbersome for players to keep track of who is who. Allowing us the ability to communicate and search for our friends by including the option to search Legacy names would be a big help. With that said, I am a strong advocate for players' rights to privacy and think we should be given an option to decide which character Legacy names we wish to be publicly listed and which we prefer to keep anonymous.
  4. I agree as well. I am not much of ground PvPer, but I have been wanting to see them implement some additional tab on the Character Sheet that allows players the convenience of toggling back and forth between their PvE and their PvP gear. I don't like cluttering up my inventory with a second set of armor and weapons and it is a tedious process to switch over to PvP gear every time the queue pops. It would be great to be out doing PVE content while queued for a PVP match and simply toggle to PVP gear the moment it is required.
  5. I think this new expansion is fantastic PRECISELY because of the new story content! I have been a loyal subscriber since launch but this is truly the first time I've ever been so intrigued by the wonderful, nuanced writing. With that said, to all of you who are screaming bloody murder because this expansion didn't showcase any new Operations or PvP, just be patient and tone down the incessant rage-ranting. This game has so many unique and complex elements to it that the devs probably have to put their focus on just a few key things at any given time, so, be patient. I am looking forward to the next installment of story content and I'm sure we'll also be seeing more announcements about new Operations and other things in the future. For now, I thank Bioware for doing such a superb job in developing a Star Wars story line that actually *feels* like it's STAR WARS!
  6. 1) MIND TRICK -- I'm surprised this doesn't already exist in the game considering how iconic this gesture is. 2) CROSS ARMS -- Many people have been requesting this for a long time. Make it happen already! I would also like to see the following emotes modified. 1) DRINK -- Let the character continue to hold a glass in their hand until cancelled. 2) EAT -- Let the character continue to eat until cancelled. 3) PONDER -- The current loop is unbearably annoying. Allow the character to remain with his hand on his chin, pondering, until cancelled. 4) DATAPAD -- Let the character continue using the datapad until cancelled. It's a bit frustrating that some emotes work very nicely while others don't. I get the impression that sometimes they are released without much thought and consideration put into how they might work best--whether or not an emote should be a looped animation or not. Emotes make a fun addition to any RP and I'd love to see more of them.
  7. I am loving many aspects of this new expansion but the changes made to hypercrates is definitely not one of them. I am going to vent here. I'm very displeased with what they've done regarding cartel packs. The new CM hypercrate format needs to change immediately. I don't think they should even be considered as "packs". A single item coupled with a boring companion gift does not constitute a "pack" to me. A companion gift should not be considered as having any substantial value. It's little more than a disposable condiment--like a packet of mustard for your hot dog. That isn't fun or exciting at all. I want goodies in my packs! Like many others this game is a big hobby of mine. On top of being a dedicated subscriber I also regularly purchase a hypercrate with the justification and rationale that I don't mind investing in something that gives me a sense of satisfaction and value for my money while also financially supporting a game that I greatly enjoy. However, this drastic new change definitely makes me feel like I am getting much less for such a high cost. At roughly $40 a hypercrate, I am definitely discouraged from spending so much real money on so little imaginary items. They need to restore the following to each pack: 1) Jawa Junk. These were a nice staple for mat gathering and therefore are items of value. 2) Cartel certificates. One of the nicest things about these was they could be put toward acquiring rare and valuable items. I felt like this was a nice system that further rewarded players who invested in packs by offering an alternative way to acquire rare items they might otherwise never be able to obtain. 3) Credit Boon. These random credit bonuses were a fun and rewarding mini-prize to receive in a pack. Isn't the point of any game to have fun and feel rewarded? 4) Reputation. I like the Reputation system and the exclusive rewards it offers. It adds extra incentive for players who are already making that steady grind with regular pack purchases. 5) The exclusive Hypercrate bonus pack. I liked these a lot. This was a fun and rewarding bonus item to receive that guaranteed players who invested their hard-earned cash in a very expensive hypercrate would always receive a rare and unique item on top of the normal packs they purchased. People *like* perks! Things I never want to see in a pack again: 1) Space Mission, Exploration, Class Story, GSF, Warzone experience boosts. Leveling is no longer the grueling grind it used to be and these redundant XP boosts should never waste space in a pack again. I think Minor and Major XP boosts are still fine when considering the F2P crowd who will benefit most from them.
  8. A lot of people are in agreement about this. There is a great thread where the OP makes an articulate argument why the new CM format is terrible and makes some very valid points. Please check out the following link: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=844005 We need to be vocal about this and get the devs' attention on this matter!

  10. I've been wanting this very thing for a long time as well. I would love to have access to a cinematic archive that allows me to revisit past exploits of my characters. There is so much cool content that we are only allowed to view once and it's a shame considering I'm one of those people who really appreciates the elements that go into producing those cut scenes: voice acting, animation, direction, etc. I care about the story and the characters I design who participate in it. Seeing our custom characters engaged in dramatic cinematics has always been a very satisfying and unique element to this game. I enjoy watching these exclusive scenes and lament that they can only be viewed once per character. I would love to see some sort of "movie" option that would allow us the ability to either re-watch or replay exclusive cut scenes from class and companion stories as well as story content from all the expansions.
  11. I have been very keen on both GSF and Strongholds ever since they launched. I agree very much with this post and would really love to see more exclusive GSF decorations from the Fleet Commendations vendor. Despite having been completely neglected for the past year or so, the GSF community remains loyal and consistent on many servers. There are a lot of players racking up Fleet comms with very little options for spending. Starfighter artwork would be awesome. Also, additional space-themed artwork would be great as well. Animated personnel such as astromech droids, technicians, systems operators and flight crew would all do wonders to greatly enhance strongholds. Decorating is a very fun addition to this game and I want to see the developers expand more on this. My big hope is that maybe they will shift their focus back to GSF in the coming months that would include new starfighter themed decorations as part of it.
  12. While searching the forums for good posts I came across this excellent post by Jedi Boadicea. It is lengthy, but very well thought out and I feel is a very articulate and accurate commentary on the new expansion. I would love to read more posts like this and see less of the awful rage-ranting the trolls keep crapping out. Please give this a read! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=844064

  14. I had to delve in pretty deep--about 20 pages--to find this post and hoist it back up to the top. It's amazing how quickly things get buried in this avalanche of forum posts. This post is truly golden, however, and I think it deserves more exposure as more players keep weighing in with their opinions and reactions. The more I play the new expansion the more I agree with all of Jedi Boadicea's impressions and observations. I've made it a personal mission to try to weed through as much troll garbage as I can tolerate in my search-and-rescue effort for quality threads that offer thoughtful praise and constructive criticism regarding the new expansion. I feel like the game developers have dramatically raised the bar in terms of story potential and elevated SWTOR to the standard of storytelling that has always been a hallmark of Bioware.
  15. It's nice to find this little oasis of positivity and praise while I dig through the mountain of troll garbage. I agree with you about how fun and well written the new story content is. I'm trying to bump up as many posts as I can find by people who have constructive criticism and praise for the new expansion. I encourage others to do the same and help counter the troll invasion with posts that are more constructive and thoughtful.
  16. Loved reading the suggestions on these wish lists. I'm bumping this up!
  17. I hope you like it. I've only started Chapter 2 so far but something that I enjoyed right from the start was the immediate difference in tone this new story expansion takes. It's just so much more engaging and intriguing. Bioware really did a great job making this new story *feel* like Star Wars.
  18. Great post, Artemis. You had some good, constructive feedback. I especially liked your idea about decreasing enemy aggro range as you scale higher in level. Thanks for offering something that the Devs can take into consideration. I want as many sane people to be recognized on these forums as possible and try to quell the troll uprising I've been seeing on far too many threads.
  19. Thank you all for taking the time to say something positive about this amazing and incredibly fun new expansion. As I've been skimming over the forums I've been astonished by the onslaught of so many toxic and negative comments that ultimately are from people who are idiotic, immature and prone to temper tantrums over very trivial things. The problem with forums is that all the articulate, thoughtful and CONSTRUCTIVE posts get buried by this overwhelming avalanche of stupidity. I want to combat this and try to indicate to the game developers who have worked very hard at delivering something bold and exciting with this new expansion that they have done a wonderful job so I am dedicating some time to dig through the forums and bump up any constructive, thoughtful posts I can find to help counter the histrionic and deranged rantings people keep trolling out. I encourage other fans of this game to do the same. I don't want my favorite MMO to degenerate from Star Wars into Troll Wars.
  20. I really hope that all this neglect with GSF will lead to some mind-blowing payoff sometime in the hopefully-not-too-distant future. How great would it be if a few months from now we get word that they have some great new GSF expansion in the pipeline that included new maps and tons of GSF-related decorations.
  21. Why did you feel compelled to broadcast your decision on a forum thread? Was it motivated by some knee-jerk compulsion to express your anger and rage? Is this new expansion truly that upsetting to you? Did this game manage to stick such a poisonous dagger into your heart and soul that there is just no going back? EVER?! I don't have the emotional capacity to take such drastic measures like you have. I am currently getting a lot of enjoyment in what they did with this new story line. Outside of GSF, RP and doing casual Ops with friends this is the most fun I've ever had playing SWTOR. Even if your reasons are valid in quitting this game, the impression I'm getting from you is someone having a temper tantrum. Sorry you won't be around for 4.0. Maybe you'll come back for 5.0.
  22. I seriously hope you do. The only thing that is garbage is your idiotic attitude toward a really fun and immersive story. Do me a favor and get lost already. You won't be missed.
  23. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for taking the time to craft such a thoughtful and constructive post. I think your critique on the game is very comprehensive and I sincerely hope it gets the attention of all the developers who worked so hard at giving us such a wonderful new installment to the game. I have only completed Chapter 1 on my Jedi Knight so far but I have to say that I was absolutely blown away by how engaging and intriguing the story is so far. For the very first time, I feel like this game has taken a step in a really exciting direction in regards to story immersion, character development and writing. As much as I love my Jedi Knight I always felt that the Knight's class story was unremarkable and poorly written compared to the kind of intrigue and nuance that the Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent story had to offer. This new expansion, for the first time ever, has delighted me by breathing a new life into my Jedi Knight's story on a level that is far more sophisticated and compelling than anything the class story ever had to offer. I LOVED how the serious tone was established right away. Everything I have always loved about Star Wars resonates with this new story line and I am looking forward to savoring each new chapter. I hope others will post more comments and keep this thread from being drowned out by all the garbage currently being posted.
  24. The fact that you started this thread with such a negative title, then go on to post that this new expansion has killed your enthusiasm (melodramatic?) to continue playing, only to backpedal and say that you're the type of person who has trouble coping with change, tells me that you should take time to think a little longer before you post! I get your frustration about things being different, but just go with the flow and enjoy the ride. I'm really disappointed that there aren't more people posting praise on how excellent the new story is and how much more engaging and fun the new companion system is!
