  1. That is a major concern of mine as well. Sages just do not scale well with gear. Its a huge failing, that at endgame pvp a person with 1600 willpower and 1300 will power have very similar damage.
  2. Sages are not OP but fit into a niche that few classes can fill. Its a support class. Everyone one of its trees is a support tree. Healing, Cast damage (consistent), dot damage (consistent). No burst damage! Sages are balanced around kiting. Meaning if the player is experienced chances are kiting will not be successful without teammate interference. Sages are provided with plenty of utility and infinite resources at the expense of being soft, not providing high damage (burst). The also cannot attack while moving, the feared lightning roots them in place. The class is mobile to retreat but when engaged in attack is rooted. The class needs others to take the enemy focus so they can attack, hence playing support. Sages are not meant to 1v1 any class and as such lose most encounters with similarly geared opponents of the same skill level. Now if you get more sages together, just kidding they will still get owned by dps burst classes.
  3. I think the sage is built as a support class. There is no tree for the sage that is not support. Healer-health support. Telekinetic-crap damage support. Balance-dot damage. Sages have crap damage because they do not run out of force, so after the first target they can go onto the second, etc. However they lack the burst to hammer a similarly gear target to no health quickly. Sages are not meant for 1v1. They are required to kite, and experience players know when to slow, stun or pull the sages in. The utility that everyone complains about is required since they cannot do effective single target damage (to similarly geared opponents!). I personally would like them to fix the sage 31 point tree so they are not support damage anymore but its not going to happen.
  4. The sage has battlemaster equipment the others do not. They have 14k-15k health which means they are undergeared. I had to look at very small letters but sorry this does not really apply.
  5. This new patch makes the only sage spec worth anything is healer. The damage on hybrid, tele and balance were not high anyway. The patch makes it very difficult to defend with sages since they must continously kite to stay alive and now they cannot rely on dots to leave the battle for some time to prepare for the next attack. I take this patch as a nerf to sages which main damage comes from dots and channeled abilities.

    Nerf Good Players

    This is totally troll centipede.
  7. It runs the stragegic value of dots and dot removal. i.e. removal of dots = moar carebear.
  8. That guy was probably on since the beginning his name is- Fear. I think that guy must have gotten in on the first 10 min of the game launch.
  9. Like the first line Care bear stare. lol
  10. Gap closers, every class has one except ranged classes, not sure where your going with that when it is clear that 1v1 sages are not viable. I really do not care if they are or are not. If I wanted 1v1 I would have gone melee. Sages dont have all you mentioned, since you have to spec into all of those. Only the hybrid can use them, which I hope they nerf since it is just a stat padding class. Regardless I am more focused on discussing damage not utility, the class has to plant to hit and the damage it does is all fluff stat pad damage. The only viable spec for sages seems to be healer.
  11. When in stealth if a Op gets the first blow on a sage or sorc you get a dead sage or sorc. If they are in the open you get a dead OP. Thats balance.
  12. Lets not drag this into a qq thread and keep it civil. not optimal does not mean no attack though, so I am not sure what you mean. Sages have more than one weakness, its built into the class. They can be outdpsed (nearly all classes), slowed and have less health. The class is built as support, that much should be obvious. So its seems like its not really built as a dps support though more like a healer. (would you agree?)
  13. This post is not a reference to 1v1 but you should not assume that its always 8 sages or sorcs on beck and call either. Any class can dominate a warzone in terms of damage thats really a null point. Hybrids Sages depend on dots and channels for procs, which do not scale well at lvl 50 pvp. Sages have no hard hitting attacks and must burn the opponent through mobility (which is not that impressive) and cc. Sages are extremly equipment sensitive for damage so I really just wanted to discuss how well sages scale with equipment, because in my point of view they are very underpowered. broken (Think telekinetic 31 pt or Balance 31 pt).
  14. Shield is nice but other classes have much more dps, as well as equivalent armor. I think that sage mobility is overrated. You get sprint but sages cannot damage and run at the same time, they have to plant to attack and the hybrid is based off procs. So you fight for 3 seconds then someone attacks you directly and a sage has only one option run. Every class has something to prevent an opponent from running away. Troopers can attack while they kite, and have more dps. They only have 1 less cc a slow thats it. Sage mobility is really a myth.
  15. Well classes that depend on dots for damage just got that much weaker.
  16. I think so, at lvl 50 they are very soft. (they have plenty of hp at low levels because bubble starts off very powerful). Mind you I am talking high lvl pvp. Why do you think otherwise?
  17. I pvp because I enjoy it not because I am farming medals. The new system would allow more competition and if you want to go afk great, I would take the win.
  18. Sages are underpowered at lvl 50. Discuss.
  19. To Roger Of London Lane take the first letter of each word. What does that spell? This post.
  20. I agree, that should have stayed how it was. Sages main weapon was dots, I guess might as well roll a commando.
  21. That guy was a bad pvp player.
  22. I am currently working on getting full Champ gear. Almost at lvl 60 valor as well. The best gear should take time to get but it should be in line with the time it takes to get equivalent gear from pve content. endgame pve raids chance at gear for ~3 hrs played. A token should be gathered through pvp for the same time. 3 hrs of pvp chance at something 6 hrs of pvp = something. Cent gear: 10 hrs Champ gear: 20 hrs Grind to total battlemaster should take at most 30 hours. 60 hrs total of pvp for top tier, as it should be (in line with pve content).
  23. Apparently Sentinels are played by potheads because that guy sounds like that character from half baked (Jim breuer's).
