  1. Fairly convinced it is next week: Ohlen: SWTOR, for 2012, we want players to feel like they are getting their moneys worth. Huge changes additions, 1.2 coming next week (slipped, corrected himself). Reid on twitter: Did @JamesOhlen just drop a huge hint about when Game Update 1.2 will release during this panel? Yes, yes he did. Within moments of each other. Maintenance on Tuesday is Web Only Makes Thursday clear for a patch day which is the day 1.1 was deployed. Earlier marketing department slipped up and published a trailer with this week as release.
  2. Yer Torhead still displays this. Originally you could combine a item acquired through artifice/treasure hunting/what ever it was along with your matrix shards to produce a cube with an augment slot. Those items are missing and so are the augmented cubes.
  3. There may have been some kind of destruction like that planned at one point. Ages ago back in December or whenever you used to be able to destroy all the points on the station then at this point the station would just vanish and you would get a crash to desktop the same moment. They patched it but maybe there was a missing explosion animation? /madspeculation
  4. aye they could do a short term feature by buffing some of the other missions to 50 difficulty (like the escorts) and randomising the 2 daily token reward each day to a different mission. Ascendancy Barrier is really getting dull now :< Overall though love them nice little break/minigame and enriched the levelling experience somewhat.
  5. Im sad enough to have played the story line twice. Once in beta which I went through as dark side cause I wanted to be light on my main. I thought dark side story played badly but to me that's the same across all classes. There is just no depth to your character when all he/she can do is spout bad 1 liners and shoot everyone with a blaster. On the light side however I don't think there is a better story yet than the BH's and I've done all the other imps stories.
  6. Soa has always had some bugs in some form or another since launch. Usually they are avoidable so its not much of a problem. Last night we broke our personal record on our Soa NM farm encountering 6 bugs in 1 pull. 1) DPS placed in air tunnel thing then teleported to a different phase. 2) Invisible balls still dealing damage when waiting for a player to land. 3) Random phase 3 aggro 4) Ghosting pillars (There are 2 pillar animations - the drift then the drop. Sometimes the drift animation runs much further than the drop animation so the pillar actually comes down a ways behind. 5) Ghosting Pillars part 2. Soa can bug on his terrain and evade meaning pillars do not remove his shield. 6) Tank is mind trapped and Soa despawns. Q&A WUTS DAT!?
  7. Yep that's the one alot of people go for. Its a nice base spec giving some extra threat. At a certain point though you will have gear enough for threat anyway so you can drop prototype cylinders and ironfist and go 3/3 cardio package for a little more soakage if you are the mt. Every little helps!
  8. Nice watch! Thinking of giving pyro play some love myself for when my teams offline and im a lone tank :< Which variant of the pvp set are you using there?
  9. That and mercs are getting bored playing their turret defence minigame
  10. Firstly get a tanking spec cause threat is hella easy in swtor (im a full nightmare 16 cleared PT main tanker before the trolls start coming and chewing at my face.) http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301G0GrdorogzZMcbZ0c.1 Secondly yes guard your marauder if hes pulling aggro, if the assassin does after that improve your rotation or slap him and tell him to wait 5 seconds before key mashing. Make sure you are using the correct abilities (dont unload its a waste of time) Survival Cooldown if needed > Rocket Punch > Sure you dont need a survival cooldown? >Explosive Dart = Rail Shot > Flamethrower = Flame Burst pretty much, while keeping heat in check with Heat Blast. If hes pulling aggro early in the boss fight you have several tools to burst your threat gain. Pop explosive fuel and Thermal Sensor Override and go to town Vent Heat and Heat Blast at the end of your burst and go back into normal rotation. Knocked back? Use grapple for a threat boost on your way back. Dont be afraid to roll taunts in early on.
  11. Yer we've had a few re-roll PT alts. I've even had a few repubs whispering me after warzones saying they're going to make one haha. Others of course just rage whisper me and scream how OP they think PT is... Thing is empire wise a huge % rolled a SI to start with and now they're at 50 theres just so many of them they're rerolling for guild spots and groups. I remember seeing a massive gang of operatives starting up but with them getting nerfed shortly I should imagine PT numbers will increase.
  12. Its doable but yer its annoying. Torpedo 1 generator Immediately fire 4 missiles at 2nd Torpedo 3 generator Immediately fire 4 missiles at 4th Torpedo the command centre for bonus Split missiles between generators 2nd and 4th to save the Day!
  13. Yer theres bigger bugs but this is a small one just abit of value tweaking.
  14. As many others have said theres no big nerf needed to Op's they need a VERY VERY minor tone down on their burst but more importantly a large buff on their out of burst damage.
  15. 1 is enough for karaggas normal 8 man. We'll deffo be taking 2 for NM tonight. As for EV NM 16man: Droid: 2 (to taunt swap on sweep) Gharj: 1 (dog packs die quick) Pillars: 2 (can run with 0 just interrupters) Council: x (whatever works for you) Soa: 1 (2-3 if using ball soaker's) (Though there was a change in 1.1 that says Soa will target every member of the ops group once so 2 tanks will be essential for phase 3 if this is the case).
  16. You're half way there! DPS haven't realised yet that threat is more delicate than were they have come from so they still charge and mash their keys. You are missing some gimmes from your rotation that I'll quickly go through now and explain. Basically as you have noticed keeping aggro on large aoe packs is tricky with the tools we are given cause the threat modifier given by IGC isnt enough to make them stick to you when someone is going single target on something. Instead it's all about control. You have 2 amazing abilities for this - Explosive Dart (major priority) and Unload (second priority). I'll try uploading a vid of a typical trash pull later but it wants to go something like this. (Death from above if off cd obviously) You run towards the pack. You fire Explosive Dart at a weak enemy incapacitating him (and those weak around him if you chose well) You Jet Charge the Elite You Rocket Punch the Elite You Unload on another weak enemy incapacitating him You Rocket Punch the Elite You Rail Shot the Elite (Elite aggro will be pretty secure now) Rapid shot / Jet Charge to next target while dps mops up the elite. (In the bank you still have electro dart and grapple for anything nasty and loose) Powertech tanking is all about utilising that awesome array of utilities and mobility. Unload as a boss filler im not sold on, I've used it once on nightmare mode EV when I decided to run out and give the melee more room on barrage. Flamethrower is a better cooldown and does not suffer push back so is useful in aoe situations. Explosive Dart is well worth adding to your boss rotation as well large damage on a timer so you can be generating threat while you're knocked back / stunned etc. Grapple also has a nice threat component if you are knocked back you can grapple on your way back instead of charging.
  17. 50 Powertech Full Champion Supercommando gear. Love it. Absolutely love it. Ugly Helm (I also have a face rug showing through it) - Check Stupidly long title to get the attention of tiny baby men? <Ironsights Al'ori'ramikade, Grand Champion of the Great Hunt> -Check! Laugh with glee as the enemy focusses me over my healer and I burn them all - A thousand checks.
  18. My post was a little bias, sorry! As I said in the first sentence I actually agree with you on some points! I think arenas is pushing it too far in terms of a whole new separate gear/ranking system but I do think there should be smaller maps 3v3 4v4 added to the warzone rotation perhaps with a separate ranking but with the same rewards at the end of the day (maybe a armour recolour). Yes this is what I was kind of leaning towards but I badly worded my post entirely :<
  19. This has been talked about loads before but I agree with some of your points while not with others. There's a reason Rob Pardo of Blizzard Entertainment called the implementing of arenas a mistake. MMO PVP is never meant to be balanced off such small groups simply because it leads to severe homogenization of the classes. Again this is shown in wow were most classes now all have viable self healing, tanking and damage abilities. Fortunately SWTORS pvp comes from a long line of Mythics work with the 3 role mechanic (Tanks with guard and taunts). Over wows ever increasingly 1 class can do all. This is important as it means DPS are glass cannons without several kites and tanks (frost mages) and healers cant also tank entire groups without tank support. Mythic back in Warhammer put in some 4vs4 warzone maps which were very fun for the weekend they were enabled but they got stale quickly as people formed the most effective groups (biggest knockbacks and punts Black guards heaven). This happens in WoW aswell with people choosing the most effective set up for arenas. When only a certain combination of classes is viable for arena the concept of skill is lost instantly as you are simply exploiting the best of the game mechanics, sure you can exploit better than the next guy but really truly honestly is that skill? It is much better to focus on epic mmo battles (like warhammer) than attempt in futility to balance classes for 2v2 etc. If people want small perfectly balanced action give them a link to CS. And for the inevitable trolls: WoW Seasons 1-3 TBC Lock top 5% Warhammer RR90 SH
  20. Level 11 here still going!
  21. Al'Ori'Ramikade (Mandalorian for Commander of Supercommandos) My chars name was my standard handle for all games I play so I fancied something Star Warsy for my Legacy. Yes I do play a BH.
