  1. again not the point. im going to say this one more time. i understand that typically in all MMO's magic dmg isnt tankable, I am not complaining about survivability. I am not complaining about losing pvp matches. guard and taunt have ZERO to do with this. I am complaining about our PVP gear being itemized for useless stats, I am complaining about our talent tree wasting 80% of its points on things that rarely trigger. From the begining they have told us they set out to make all specs pvp viable. and the guard and taunt mechanics for the most part do just that. however, why would i stick with my pve tank spec in PVP when 80% of the talent points dont help me in pvp at all. why would i want a pvp gear set that has shield/accuracy when neither of these matter to my spec AT ALL. furthermore crits arenot mitigated by shields either. shields are usefull against ranged and melee only if they dont crit. now i know when i open my ability panel i have exactly 3 skills that are melee or ranged (default attack, unload, one other that escapes me at work) everything else is tech, rocket punch is not melee its tech and on and on. take a look at what youre abilities really are sometime you will be surprised. ok, i am done with this thread for today.
  2. i suggest you stop thinking that since your class is fine that every other tank spec/class is fine. Shieldtechs entire talent tree is based on shields (youres isnt) our pvp itemization is entirely based on shields (youres isnt). now if we arent meant to tank elemental/force/tech/internal then fine. but our whole tank spec needs to be reworked then. as well as all our gear.
  3. again, you raise points that have nothing to do with the conversation. As i said, if im not supposed to block this stuff then fine, but dont make my pvp set shield/absord/and accuracy. and dont make me waste talent points on shields. you are talking about defense procs not shield procs. i dont think you even know how mitigation works in this game
  4. does youre tank spec depend on shield procs to keep your abilities going??? no it does not. so you get protection points, that has nothing to do with this conversation.
  5. this is because you have ranged skill, one of the few classes. so you are being effected while other classes arent. you should be just as upset. this is not neccessarily a cries to buff us. it is calling otu the fact that our specs are based on shields going off which doesnt happen unless we are fighting you or straight melee classes. all tech/force classes arent effected by our shields
  6. please stay on topic. if you dont understand the issue please educate yourself or dont post. if the mitigation is working as intended then fine, but then we need a complete re itemization of our pvp gear and the pve tank spec is 80% wasted points for pvp.
  7. i get your point. but what you dont understand is that all our talent tree (pt bh) is centered around boosting shield procs, the majority of our abilities are based on our shield going off. but it never goes off because the only things it shields are ranged or melee. now open you ability tab and tell me how many of your skills are ranged/melee. im guessing maybe 3 of your skills. everything else is tech or force. if thats how it is supposed to be then fine. but dont give me a pvp set loaded with shield/absorb/accuracy ***? dont make my talent tree all shield skills. we were supposed to be able to pvp with a tank spec in this game, but the tank spec doesnt work in pvp. at all because only 3-4 of the 8 classes have any abilities that trigger the shield.
  8. more likely that they are referring to guild capital ships. as they have said in the past that it was something that they would like to do.
  9. id like to see some extra planets that are empty and allow guilds to build outposts for pvp ala AOC. constant resources needed to grow or maintain. I would like to see guild quests like rift. i would like to see an achievement system (rift/wow/swg/WAR) i would like to see side quests for each companion that open up at 50. (like a mini story you must run with that companion) there is alot to do in this game though. dailies space dailies pvp dailies FP dailies / weeklies datacron collection OPS
  10. as a shieldtech , i have to agree. 80% of my talent tree is useless and all the pvp gear is useless. but i want to tank in PVE to so i cant do anything about it. If this is working as intended then i will roll dps and leave my tank for PVE stuff.
  11. remember the rules of huttball. there are no rules. you need some defenders to not allow people in front of the ball carrier. although i thought i did remember that in betas they said no movement enhancing abilities were allowed while carryin the ball. meaning force run or whatever.
  12. i went imp solely because of BH. I would have much preferred to play Republic. i think both sides should have had troopers and BH's should have been both aswell. so design decision made me go Imp. now that my bh is 50 though i plan on rolling a smugg and a jedi so there you go.
  13. it is up to you to make a community NOT bioware.
  14. it is not biowares obligation to find you friends in a social game. if you want to do group content then get a group. when you find a healer in youre level range add them to friends, join a guild, etc. these FPs are not solo content that you can go do anytime you want, they have higher rewards because it takes a group. put in some effort. in my guild we have flashpoint friday's where we make an effort to get people what they need. Higher level people take a break from questing to help tank or heal or whatever.
  15. the thing about MMO's is this, they can add all the content in the world but in the end, it is YOU that makes it fun. Whatever you find fun, search for some likeminded people and go do it. you want a guild war. start one. you want to roleplay, make a guild based on your story. etc. etc.. go gank some lowbies on tat. go to the fleet and recreate a monty python video. whatever. people need to realize that MMO's are meant to be communities, where people make the game fun. its just like going out to eat with friends. some friends are fun and make the whole evening a blast. some friends are boring and you just go eat and go home. MMO's are not meant to be 100% scripted, dont count on developers to make your time fun. or you will just keep MMO hopping wondering why no one makes fun games anymore/.
  16. they way i read that dev post was the knight/warrior period needed survivabilty. the part specifically about the jugg/guardian was about Mobility. so heres hoping i interpreted that correct
  17. i got to agree with you. im not going anywhere, because im having too much fun with the class story. BUT the post today about the textures was an eye opener for sure. i cant believe thats what their going with. completely shocking that it was intentionally designed that way, and they thought they could get away with that.
  18. NO, respec is in the game in case you make a mistake allocating your points. And the cost increase is there to discourage people from using it too often. why else would they designing with an increasing cost. i have a bh tank, if i dont like pvping as a tank i will roll a different class. Dual spec cheapens the game.
  19. so you got all the pvp gear you wanted. you've found all the datacrons you want and made youre relics experienced all the flashpoints and operations, etc. Also this is a story MMO, i believe that Bioware fully expects a large portion of the population to experience more that one class story . youve got the 1.5 milllion credit speeders? etc. edit. three crew skills at 400 all companions affection raised all space missions cleared. help your guild level It never ceases to amaze me when people ask for more content in an MMO. for the most part you the player are supposed to make your time fun. not bioware. thats what MMO's are. take some guildies and hit the world bosses.

  22. its not what i would prefer. and i didnt read the other 100 page thread entirely. however i think we need to consider that it is functioning as intended. meaning, they dont want high-res texture in free play mode due to performance issues. and the the high rez in cut sceens are just for the cut sceens. i am guessing it was designed like that.
