  1. The whole thing was funny enough to get me to smirk irl, but then I actually chuckled slightly when I got to the bold part. Translated into internet that's like a solid ROFLMAO. Give this guy +1 internet.
  2. lol @ OP trying to get people to stay subbed to this game out of fear of them being outgeared by other people while they are away. Fear-mongering to get people to stay subbed? And you think anybody who is un-subbed cares what happens while they're gone? lol lol lol lolololololololololololololololololol good stuff
  3. Ooohhhhhhh, that's the reason lots of people are crying for sorc nerfs and saying there are too many of them - they have no life. Well that makes perfect sense now. I mean, not having a life a well-known reason to cause outbursts of "Nerf sorcs!" and "There are too many sorcs!" Thanks for clearing that up for me OP, here I was always thinking it was the overpowered and overplayed aspects of the class that kept garnering those cries. In other news OP is a douchebagel.
  4. PT Pyrotech is so viable that unless your tank gives you a threat bubble, he will constantly be taunting things off you. It is fantastic endgame deeps. I'm not sure where some people here are getting their info about AP doing more damage than Pyro, that is false. AP's damage, sustained and burst, is significantly lower than Pyrotech's. Pyro heat management is a non-issue with a proper rotation, it's easy to never get above 40 heat. It's flat out disinformation to say AP does more damage than Pyro. I have tested both specs on the council fight in EV. AP takes roughly 33% longer to kill the same Council member. Give or take 5-10% for a randomness factor that doesn't really exist but which some people want to think does to try and defend AP, and you still have Pyro doing far more DPS than AP ever will. Anybody making any claim that Pyro does less damage than AP has simply not tested them both. This is really not a debatable issue, Pyro does significantly more damage than AP.
  5. When Tenacity says she "prefers" prototypes over pyros for PvE dps, keep in mind her preference is just that, personal preference. Pyrotech does empirically much higher DPS in any PvE and PvP scenario. The heat is also a non-issue with a proper rotation although it does take some getting used to. Play however you want for sure, but any information indicting AP is superior to Pyrotech in terms of damage is disinformation. As to the "hate" for AP, it's really not hate, it's just that AP is under-performing compared to Pyro at it's own game - PvP. It's more like....wishing AP could be more. Pyro is the straight-up massive DPS tree, AP is the utility/pvp DPS tree...the problem is AP doesn't gain enough utility to make up for what it loses in damage. A Pyrotech will consistently far outperform a prototype in damage and kills and the get same amount of protection. What does the AP gain for losing that killing power? Not enough, is the problem. It either needs more utility or more damage to compete, and lots of people yell at Bioware every day (or would if we lived near their office with a megaphone) to buff it. Although to be fair Prototype is a fantastic spec for carrying a ball in Huttball, you will never be knocked off those damn ledges.
  6. You can't guard using this spec. Guarding requires ICG and a shield gen. Pyro uses CGC and a power gen. You also don't really have a choice as to what stats to stack, as Eliminator gear is mostly Power and Accuracy with some crit thrown in for flavor. You'll be wanting to use the Eliminator earpiece, generator and implants to cap expertise as well, the only other options are Supercommando which is for tanking and Combat Medic which has alacrity which PTs don't need. I have found though that using 4 pieces of Champ Eliminator gear for the bonus and having the 5th set item be Champion Combat Tech gloves is nice. The Combat Tech gloves have 44 crit on them, and I've found the regular eliminator gear just doesn't give very much. Good job OP keep on kickin ***
  7. I have never attacked you. I have never asked to speak for anybody except myself and the people in my guild who I know for a fact all feel the same way. Any "we" you read refers to the guild mates that all experienced the same bugs I did. You can stop claiming I was trying to speak for anybody else, I have now repeatedly told you this was never the case. The fact that you have no endgame characters but yet are still trying to squelch topics like this is offensive and makes you look stupid. I am not saying you are stupid. I am saying talking about things you haven't experienced makes you look stupid. You can avoid that by not talking about these serious problems which plague a great potion of the community until you have also experienced them. When you have experienced them, everybody here will respect your opinion on them. Until then, you are blowing smoke.
  8. Prove me otherwise and again I will apologize to you and admit I was wrong. Since you can't, it means I'm right; not arrogant.
  9. Well I'm doing so, and I'm right about it. So I feel justified. Give me a SS of your level 50 character in raid gear and I will concede I was misinformed and apologize to you.
  10. Andryah, you are quite clearly speaking as someone who has never encountered the game-breaking problems I have discussed in my OP, or any other of the bugs that make much content in this game either impossible to play or impossible to enjoy. As I am addressing problems which you have not yet encountered, you have no right to tell people not to discuss them and raise awareness of them. We will do so. If it hurts your feelings and you just cant bear to read it, well...no one is forcing you to be here. Keep leveling your level 30 Jedi. You'll be complaining here with the rest of us when you reach endgame too.
  11. He would only be part of the problem if he were aware of the problems before subbing. As it is, all of us are finding these glaringly painful bugs out after subbing, after we've already sunk money and time into the game. It is logical then to request fixes and improvements.
  12. I respectfully disagree. I agree that my wallet is one way to voice my displeasure, but I do not think it is the only way. I am hoping, and many people are hoping, that simply making Bioware know damn well how displeased a great many of us are, that we will get some info on how they know what the problems are, and that fixes are incoming. If that is indeed not happening, than you are right, and I should leave. But I am hoping that is not the case.
  13. You sir have not been dismissed, and I wish I could somehow replace my main post with this one. +1 Internet, and f*** Gharj.
  14. Flawless. I should have been so simple in my first post. Expounding on that got OP up in a tither.
  15. In what way is that arrogant? Do you even know what that word means? At worst it means I'm misinformed and haven't seen the information which talks about the problems I've faced and how they'll be fixed soon. Which I haven't. This is in no way shape or form arrogance. And I never said BW didn't think there were 0 problems at all, I was complaining that I haven't heard any news about the ones I have discussed though. They are big problems that prevent people from playing their game. An update on them would be nice. If I didn't, I wouldn't still be subbed, would I? Honestly you're apathy is astounding. I experienced game-breaking difficulties and want them to be fixed for the better, and you call me arrogant and tell me to leave and come back in a year? What is wrong with you?
  16. No, I know you're not playing semantics, and you have a point except for this - The customers are not the game developers. It is not their job to think of ways to program this game, not unless Bioware were to pay them money to do it. It is the customer's job to pay $$$ for this game and enjoy it. If there is something they do not enjoy, that is a problem which the game developers are paid to fix (so long as it's a large enough problem and a legitimate problem - saying "nerf this class because it killed me" is not a problem, game-breaking bugs that prevent people like me from raiding are a problem). By complaining it lets those developers know that something needs to be fixed. Truly helpful customers might, out of the graciousness of their hearts, proffer ideas to correct the problems. Whether the developers build off that idea is their prerogative, but regardless, that's hardly the customer's job. I, for example, posted this thread - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=237928. There are no suggestions in it. There are complaints in it. By making this thread I am hoping to help bring enough awareness to the problem to at least get BW to tell me they are aware of the problems, preferably that they are working on fixing them. Otherwise, how can I be sure BW so much as knows about the problems, if they don't even talk about them existing?
  17. What is it with you and claims? You said I made a bunch of claims that I never did, you're asking if this guy is making a claim that has nothing to do with what he said... Are you in reality dude? What's so hard about just dealing with what we actually say? I am now willing to risk losing my job by putting whatever it is you're on in my system. It sounds fantastic and worth the risk.
  18. Which statement of mine do you disagree with? The only assertive statement I've made here is that people have a right to complain about this game in hopes the problems become fixed and the game gets better. That is the single point I have argued for in this thread. Oh, I guess also claiming people are leaving out of boredom. I don't have facts to back that one up but I strongly think that is the reason if any. Maybe it's bugs that are making people leave. If that's the case though, I feel my main assertion to be further justified.
  19. Just for the record though, first your arrogance is astounding, second, you assert this only after claiming I made claims which I never did, and then saying those claims are wrong. You are so. Freaking. High. And I am getting a serious kick out of you thinking you're some debate-master when you're just inventing a bunch of things then calling it a debate you're winning. This is absolutely fascinating. Let me try - OP said green is red. If you can prove this, please continue. Otherwise, I win this argument. In doing so I clearly exceed OP's level of debate, logic, and reading comprehension.
  20. Are they? Because I tried raiding last night and couldn't do it because of bugs. I have yet to see BW say "We are aware of some people not being able to raid because of bugs, fixes will be incoming shortly." There are countless issues which need to be addressed but have not. "Rage and tears" are things nobody likes. But OP also said people should just not play the game if they don't like it. I think that is wrong, and this game would lose A LOT of subs if that's what everybody did. The game has a lot of problems and bugs and people would rather these be fixed than not play the game at all. Ergo, raising as much awareness of these problems as possible is a logical thing for these people to do in hopes that they will get attention. If there are some rage and tears in there that hurt your feelings to read, ignore them. Nobody forces you to come here and read them. The rest are legitimate complaints and hopes that things get fixed for the better.
  21. I never made any such assertions. The only assertion I ever made is that people have a right to complain about things so that they will be fixed. Whatever you're smoking, will you sell me some? It sounds danky. I don't know what you're reading but it's nothing I ever said on this thread. You're inventing things buddy.
  22. This man has a flawless sig.
  23. I'm not strawmanning you, damn you're desperate to avoid confronting your own points. My rebuttal is directed at your main argument, but since you're trying so hard to pretend like it isn't, I'll lay it out as clearly as possible for you - Your argument is: If you do not like this game, rather than complaining, just don't play it. Correct? Correct. My counter-argument is: If people do not like this game, it is their collective right to complain about what they do not like so that Bioware can become aware of these things and change them. Where is the strawman in that? Do you even know what a strawman is? My point counters your point directly. In other words - I disagree with you.
  24. I believe OP's forum moniker is self-reflective, as many names on the internet are or try to be.
  25. Why not bring the issues into the light and hope they get fixed? That's why people are complaining. If you're insinuating everybody shut up then Bioware will have no incentive to fix anything and sub rates would plummet and this game would die. Criticism is necessary for the growth of any MMO into its fullest potential. People want this game to succeed. They're not criticizing it because they want it to fail.
