    No respect

lol'd hard Gotta agree entirely with the spirit of this post. Thanks for sharing your disrespect with the community, OP. Everybody who you don't respect surely cares so much that they will re-roll a different class that you respect more.

    Vanguard/Powertech

    This is 100% the case.
  3. I agree with OP entirely. I have a full set of champ gear gained through a lot of PvP and I just can't do it anymore. I hate it now, I've done all the same content a billion times over, there's no OWPvP, it's not dynamic, it's the same stale popcorn WoW gave us nearly a decade ago just with different skins. And that is shameful.
  4. Listening to whoever that was whining endlessly at about 40 seconds into video made me exist right then and there. I'll try again later with the mute button on. It might be a great video man, but hearing that made me want to kick whoever was crying like that in the mouth. Why nobody told him "DUDE, S T F U" astounds me.
  5. You don't see because you're speaking from the inexperience of not having tested both specs at level 50 in pvp gear. The fact that I'm going to explain the following to you is a bad sign because it means you haven't discovered this for yourself, like every level 50 PT in pvp gear has already. The problem is that everything you think is great about AP can be done nearly as effectively as Pyrotech, all while doing twice the damage. Notable talents I'll explain for you - - Hydrolic Overrides. It makes you hard to kite, whereas Pyrotech combats effectively from range and can perma-snare, so kiting a Pyrotech is pointless. Requiring a skill to counter this weakness of AP's is bad. What is good about HO is scoring in Huttball, which seems to be what this ability was made for - running across the ledges without worrying about getting knocked off. Although you can still be stunned in a fire trap. On stuns - - Stabilized Armor. 20% less damage while stunned is arguably the most situational talent in the game. The vast majority of stuns you break out of. Many of the ones you don't break out of are because you don't need to due to having a filled resolve bar. Knockdowns like from Operative and Scoundrel openers and Force Push are not stuns and you still take full damage while affected by them. On the relatively rare occasions you have to eat a full-duration 4 second stun, 20% less damage during those 4 seconds is almost never going to save your life. It sure won't in a fire trap or acid pit in Huttball, which is where you're stunned the most often as AP trying to carry the ball. Finally, you haven't tried a full ST build in DPS gear, because that damage isn't far behind AP's while maintaining comparable mobility due to Jet Charge. All while having significantly more survivability than any AP hybrid spec ever could, as well as higher burst damage potential due to huge RPs that can be reset. I know you're going to be defensive and protect what you think is a good spec to your dying breath to save face, but I hope you understand that 1 - I'm not attacking you, I'm just stating facts, and 2 - if you want to play AP I hope you'll join the crowd yelling at Bioware to buff AP. It needs serious buffs and will hopefully get them one day. You will discover this for your self when you're level 50 in PvP gear.
  6. Partially correct. AP is a DPS tree, so the point of spec'ing into AP is to kill things. Considering that AP was designed (poorly) with PvP strongly in mind, the idea then is a PvP DPS class with utility from things like Hydrolic Overrides and easier heat management. However, as mentioned, the DPS is so tremendously less than Pyrotech that the tradeoff of very minor mobility gains and handy heat management are not worth it. Pyrotech's heat is slightly more difficult to manage but considering you usually kill your foe in seconds this is negligible, and the slightly increased mobility from AP is only really useful in Huttball for ball carrying. So yes... I would consider AP terrible because it's a DPS tree that doesn't DPS half as effectively as the other DPS tree, and the utility tradeoff is remarkably situational at best. These are objectively valid reasons to consider AP terrible. Any 50 PT in Champion gear will PvP much more effectively as Pyrotech than AP in every circumstance with the single exception of ball carrying in Huttball. Hopefully Bioware will buff AP soon, as of now it is widely considered useless at 50.
  7. Just for the record, you guys know that tank stats as a whole have largely reduced effectiveness in PvP? There's a large controversy about this in the tanking community, and I'm fairly positive you're making this build under the assumption that it makes you significantly tankier when that's not really the case. - Shields only proc off weapon attacks. Tech attacks? Nope. Force attack? Nope. Scoundrel scatter gun attacks (technically tech attack and not a weapon attack, just like operative knives), sage rocks, hell most attacks in the game that don't come from Gunslingers. All of it has a 100% chance to bypass shields. - Same with Defense. You cannot dodge a tech or force attack. - Armor is a nice defense vs kinetic and energy damage, but most class' high-DPS spec (including Powertechs, for example) consists of largely internal/elemental damage. This completely bypasses armor. Final thing to consider here - AP is by and large a useless spec at 50. The damage is horrendous compared to Pyrotech, and all you really get for spec'ing AP is some slight mobility advantages (although you can get that in Pyrotech too with Degauss) and easier heat management. This tree will hopefully be buffed significantly in the future, but right now it's terrible.

    500k+ DMG Club!

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/717/screenshot2012010911075.jpg/ Pug, no healer anywhere. Actually, I had the most healing on my team purely from my Rakata MP and Kolto Overload. No PvP consumables, just BC ones. Also had the most protection. As above poster said, if I had a premade guard or healer rolling with me the slaughter would have been much more intense. I easily understand how people are getting 7/800k+ now.
  9. I really hate disarming a bomb, seeing the timer hit 3.0 seconds, my hands drop down to my side further signalling I have completed my task, then I get hit and it says "interrupted" and the bomb goes off a second later.
  10. Speaking as a 50 PT in full Champ gear with 400 Biochem - 1. Agreed. They released this game earlier than it should have been (props for hiding it pretty well though, mostly hard to notice until level 50). They won't do it though, because as somebody else already said, they can never be wrong in their world. Only in everybody else's. 2. Agreed. Remember what gear I'm in as I say this. Alternatively, halve the effectiveness of expertise and stop adding useless PvE stats like Accuracy to PvP gear and start putting useful stats on it instead. 3. Disagree, I prefer the nerf to consumables they are giving to BC. Allow them to be used just make them nowhere near powerful enough to be an I-Win button on a short CD. Also, buff all other crafting professions to be useful in pvp! BoP epic expertise gear, ect. Why should only 1 crewskill be useful at endgame? Crafting in general is a wreck at endgame. 4. Yes. 5. Yes. 6. Yes. 7. Brackets should fix this for the most part. But still yes. 8. Agree entirely. Illum is a wreck and shameful. SHAME. FULL. FULL OF SHAME. 9. Yes. 10. Yes.
  11. Since Republic is always outnumbered the only fair chance they have right now at Illum is trading objectives. That goes away next patch, and with them being constantly outnumbered completing their dailies/weeklies will be very hard. I predict a lot of them just not going there any more, which means Empire won't be able to complete dailies/weeklies, which means the place will be less broken but even more dead than it is now. It needs to be scrapped entirely and Bioware needs to start all over again. They won't do that because it's too hard and would take too long (basically - "we screwed up so badly we're not going to bother fixing it"). Which means we get stuck with their inferior product that they try to fix with a band-aid instead of a proper reworking.
  12. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/14/screenshot2012010911075.jpg/ - Full Champ gear - 4/6/31 Pyrotech - Voidstar or Huttball - Alderaan doesn't usually give as much opportunity for damage - This was in a pug. I actually had the highest heals on my team just from Rakata Medpack/Kolto Overload, I could have easily broken 600k if I had a pocket healer with me. Also had the highest Protection, taunted as much as possible. The poster above me is wrong entirely about AoE damage, the only AoE damage a Pyrotech does is Death From Above, and I did it maybe a couple times that match. The above poster is further entirely off regarding kill count - if you divide my damage by kills you get an average of roughly 9k damage per kill. That is appropriate; often I killed people from full health in a 1v1, but sometimes I just aided others in killing their target. His math of 200k damage with 50 kills is absurd. That comes out to 4k damage per kill - that makes no sense at all. Nobody with 200k damage deserves more than 20-30 kills, and 30 would be an unusually high number for that damage. I hate to sound harsh but he has no idea what he's talking about.
  13. 1. You say you want spike damage, but sacrifice TD which crits for well over 3k in standard champ gear, and can be timed to go off exactly as you get a 3k+ RS crit. This makes no sense to me. 2. You take Degauss in search of more mobility, but don't pair it with Energy Rebounder... 3. You sacrifice 3% tech crit chance, +30% DOT damage on enemies under 30% health (which affects the re-procs of CGC from FB and RS btw), and one of your best burst skills (TD), all for only 9% aim and a shorter CD on grapple. The shorter CD on Flamethrower doesn't count because a good Pyro never uses this skill in PvP. Nobody with an IQ above room temperature should consider this a fair trade. I highly respect individuals such as yourself for searching out interesting hybrid builds. But all you did with this one was sacrifice some some vital components to a full-pyro build for comparatively terrible trade-offs. 3% less tech crit chance, 30% less DOT damage on enemies below 30% hp, and no thermal detonator is a MASSIVE loss of damage and burst-potential that is nowhere near made up for with 9% more aim and 10s less on grapple. This build is just bad =/
  14. If you're looking to absolutely cap PvE raid DPS, an extra 2% fire damage over 3% RS damage might just barely be more worth it considering your fire DoTs do a significant amounts of damage over a very long fight, and Flame Burst is used extremely often. 3% Rail Shot damage is arguably better for PvP where you want that skill critting as high as possible. The damage will be so similar either way though that even if you had long-term damage recording during a boss encounter, going one way or the other won't lose or gain you much if any noticeable DPS. I take the full 6% RS damage personally, but this is just preference.

Did 800k damage in a wz

To everybody here arguing that Powertechs have more AoE than Death From Above - you have no idea how foolish you look. You're are speaking out of pure ignorance and embarrassing yourselves. Allow me to explain: - Flame Sweep is an absurdly expensive AoE that does pittance damage. This is not a PvP skill, this is a PvE tanking skill. No PTs use this in PvP unless they have no idea *** they're doing. - Explosive Dart is an AoE skill, but shares a CD with Thermal Detonator. OP being Pyrotech spec uses Thermal Detonator exclusively and never ED. - Flame Thrower is a skill given symmetry with the Advanced Prototype tree, which OP is not. Pyrotechs do not use Flame Thrower in PvP. I say this as a level 50 Pyrotech PT in full champ gear. The only AoE a Pyrotech Powertech uses in PvP is Death From Above. To argue otherwise is to tell every Powertech reading your post "I am clearly completely ignorant of what I am saying, please disregard me as somebody who has no idea what they are talking about." And we do so. You can all stop grasping at straws trying to explain away his damage as AoE. You are empirically wrong and blowing smoke out of your azzes.
  16. Coming from a PT in full Champ gear - I agree with this completely.

Did 800k damage in a wz

ITT: a lot of people who think they're hot stuff getting 300k in WZs, see this damage, then look for ways to brush it off as unimpressive while secretly being incredibly jealous. Congrats OP, that's damn impressive and regardless of the palpable butthurt many people in this thread are displaying, you did really well.
  18. Agree on all points. As the poster above me mentioned, Pyro already makes tanks just about break their taunt button if they don't put their agro bubble on you. Fantastic damage. AP needs serious lovin' though. Complete wreck atm. Not in a good way, I mean the designers of this tree made it crash and burn, then pissed on the wreckage.

    The GIMME Generation.

You do realize that us players are a CUSTOMER BASE and we withhold our right to use our own wallets for products we prefer/do not prefer? Did you grow up in Cuba, OP? Here in America when a customer is unhappy with a product it is their right to request a change to the product or take their money somewhere else. What sorry nation-state did you grow up in where businesses had the luxury of telling their customers "If you don't like our product, TOO BAD SON, live with it!" Western MMO markets do not have this luxury, apparently you are not aware of this. You must also not be aware that player-feedback, requests, and concerns is what GROWS any MMO into a fruitful product. Without all of it - including the negative no matter how much it hurts your feelings - no MMO would ever reach optimal experience delivery. Your fanboi is leaking through, OP. I'm surprised you haven't bled dry yet. We can all tell you like the product and seek to squelch all dissenting opinion. However people like you wont stop the rest of us from voicing our opinions in hopes that this game gets better.
  20. Coming from a 50 PT in full Champ/Rakata gear. Agree 100%
  21. I appreciate your self-righteousness over a videogame. You go, Mr. White Knight. Defend this game to your last breath! Opinions other than your own != whining. You'll notice a compliment I originally threw in there along with my valid opinion. How about you get over yourself too. I wonder what makes you think you're so special...I salute your mother for working so hard, although she clearly worked a little too hard. Don't worry, when you grow up and have to work for a living one day you'll realize you're no more special than anybody else.
  22. Haven't console gamed in about a decade. Although your fantastic lack of maturity for not wanting other people to voice their opinions is showing through your Jr. High uniform buddy. People like you are always worth a chuckle or two. Like any opinion other than your own is so outrageous you just can't stand to hear it and ask them to leave. Get over yourself.
  23. I pretty much agree with this whole post except for the classes part. I thought they did a decent job of mixing up class roles (stealth/healer for example) and the classes were pretty flavorful... Too bad that's not nearly enough to get my subscription...
  24. Some people consider people who think 20% damage reduction while stunned is good to be inexperienced PvPers who have not actually tested the talent very much and seen how rarely it makes any difference. But we're all positive that your opinion out of everyone else's is the only empirically correct opinion, as you have clearly demonstrated that you are vastly more knowledgeable than everybody else here.
