  1. 1. It's a cash sink, not a time sink. 2. You generally want either type of sink to be fun, or at least reasonable. 3. People already put the time into getting the Legacy level. There's your time sink. 4. Just because mmorpgs feature many time/cash sinks, doesn't mean EVERYTHING needs to be one. 5. Sinks can be more enjoyable than slapping a huge price tag on something. That's the laziest form of cash sink possible. Rather than coming up with interesting, or enjoyable things to blow money on, like pazaac or tauntaun races, arcades with mini-games that cost money, housing, cosmetic clothing that players can craft, etc. Bioware, as usual, took the easy, joyless, minimal effort way out.
  2. Make the gear orange, with slots. Have different/unique models with upgraded stats every 10 levels or so. Make it so these stupidly overpriced chunks of mediocrity, aren't totally worthless after a few days of play. Done.
  3. If you don't like criticism toward games you like, don't force yourself to read and respond to every thread.
  4. Stay away from the fleet?!?! F*** YOU. Why don't you resist the urge to blindly ram your infected character into every single player you see, like a child with a new toy? Take your own advice and go do something, rather than sit on the fleet all day infecting people because you think it's funny. God I can't even begin to dissect all the logical fallacies and strawman arguments you just wrote so I'm going to stop now, before I forget how to do math. I participated in the event and I never sat around infecting people. Is that the event? Because i could have sworn it was to do a bunch of missions and boss fights.
  5. People keep saying that those not amused by the this feature are hating the fun and excitement. "Booooo...why do you hate fun?!" Really?!? I mean I don't really have an issue with this crap, as I'm barely on as is. But is this game THAT stale, and trite already, that standing around passing off a glowing green debuff that simply kills the infected, and gives five tokens that can be used to purchase maybe one pet and bunch of green color crystals -is somehow a refreshing change of pace? Reminds me of the lame zombie event from WoW, except there is a slight reward potential. Definitely not as bad though. That was designed just to grief people. This way easier to avoid.
  6. Unlike yourself, who is showing tremendous retraint....
  7. Yeah the event is pretty cool. Unfortunetly I'm getting more lag and more graphical errors than ever before. It's making the event unenjoyable and frustrating.
  8. GREAT ADVICE! Just be on when no one else is on. I mean there is no way other people aren't also going to do that, and I can't imagine anyone not being able to stay up until all hours of the morning just to click an item in a game! WOW.
  9. The loading time is awful. The delay is worse. Today my character stopped animating completely. I'd run, but all of my combat animations didn't work, even force leap would do the damage and I'd just stand there.
  10. Thank you very much, this was a huge help. A shame it takes a player just to help people figure out how to find the damn thing just to begin their own event.
  11. You can tell which ones migrated from WoW...
  12. A rare item gained by simply standing still and right clicking an object? How creative and exciting!
  13. Good lord thanks for showing us all what maturity looks like whiny entitlement blargh Mature people whine about whining and flamebait!
  14. Not even close. The equivalent would be if that box of cookies was placed in a public place swarming with starving people, only contained one cookie and opened every two hours for one week.
  15. Meh. The Legacy system is joyless, mechanical and little more than a blatant cash sink that most people will never fully make use of. All the really good features, aren't even in the f***ing game yet! It says coming soon in 1.3? F*** YOU. Not that it matters, I'd have to grind dailies until I hate the game just to afford any of it. Worse yet, the same God d*** graphical bugs and performance issues are STILL around. Issues from f***ing beta are still around. I'm getting real sick of Bioware over-hyping mediocrity. I had an issue while doing the latest "world event" an hour ago, where my character just stopped animating. He was still attacking, but didn't move. Even force leap did the damage and I never left the spot I was standing. I also spent half my time online, invisible. Which happens every time I play. I was a staunch supporter of this game but I'm almost completely out of s***'s to give Bioware. Mass Effect 3 didn't help.
  16. I know Rakata Ops weapons have Black/Blue and Black/Red (for either faction) Black/Green was for ordering a Razer tie-in product (and is available during this new event on Tattooine I think) Black/Yellow was for preordering SWTOR.
  17. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=410458 Alright, now this, this is good. They're listening and did something to fix the issue. The free time requirements are being expanded to allow people time to qualify. I'm going to give credit where credit is due, and give props to Bioware for fixing the issue, and doing it quickly. This is a perfect solution, Thank you.
  18. Ironically, that's a lazy answer, made by people who don't really want to do any of that pesky thinking, before they speak. But that's every generation for you. Oh and I started playing games on the Atari back in the early 80's. What is YOUR generation exactly? Just when you thought it couldn't get lazier. Farmville? The game that takes months to get anything? The game that's nothing but the same grind day in day out? The game that's based entirely around exactly what is being complained about here? Do you even think before y...oh wait, you have 'LOL' in your name....never mind.
  19. God, it's like all of those words got drunk, passed out, and woke up in the same sentence together. From what I gather, you're trying to call me stupid, but a portion of what you wrote, doesn't even qualify as functioning words. I haven't tried out what? I've been playing since beta. I have my third tier speeder (the Light Side vender model), and I've made well over a million credits in my total time playing. Mostly due to selling crafted magenta crystals, back when they went for 400k a pop. Chances are, I made more money than you have. But I'm not everyone. Trust me, I know how to make money on this game. That doesn't make these prices good.
  20. Exactly. Some examples of better ways to clean the economy: Gambling - Make a giant casino and have things like slots and pazaac and entertainment. Work it into the immersion. Maybe one big vacation/entertainment world full of games and tons of small money sinks. Housing, complete with furniture crafting. Cosmetic items There are tons of things they can do to provide cash sinks. They just don't give a crap enough to do them, and would rather do the laziest job possible and just make a bunch of things really expensive. It's all dailies and million credit speeders, just like WoW woulda did! all it takes is Bioware thinking outside the box for a moment.
  21. What is the point of lying? Well, it's generally to deceive. Adults lie all the time. Adults lie more than kids. Also, overusing the word "crying" for complaints you don't care for, and playing as much of this game as you admit, isn't helping disprove this notion.
  22. Because maybe you're lying? EDIT: Or you didn't spend money on ANYTHING. Which is so much fun...Ignoring so much of the game to make a buck. and after all of that money is gone, how will you make that kind of money without leveling another alt to cap and again, ignoring a ton of things players occupy their leveling time with. I guess if I wanted to avoid doing anything with my money for all 50 levels I would have that kind of money but that covers what, maybe ONE unlock in Legacy system? and you sacrificed a ton of experiences along the way just to do it.
  23. Except that you don't make money doing those things, you lose money on repairs. The only way you get the kind of money this Legacy garbage requires, is to play the game like a job. A joyless grind of dailies. Yeah I see how many solutions you gave me. Zero. Thanks. People like me? F*** you. You have no idea what I want, or what I'm willing to do to get it. your abundance of free time and a willingness to blow it all on repetitive crap isn't making games any better. Make no mistake superstar, you ain't some kind of gaming saint because you decide to slog through artificially elongated systems for pixels. F*** your weak *** entitled crying bull****. You aren't making anyone feel bad, because you have an abundance of free time, and little standards on how you spend it. I don't mind earning or working for things, I don't want everything right now. I would however, like things to not be an unenjoyable f*** grind for easily entertained OCD gamers with tons of time to kill.
  24. I play quite a bit and I disagree. I have operations and flashpoints to keep me busy in the long term. "Do something for it" How about doing something FUN for it. Rather than taking the absolute laziest method of applying longevity, by simply attaching a giant price tag to a bunch of s***.
