  1. That still doesn't count as solo winning apparently. I took the opposition node three times in a row the other day. The opposition scored zero at the end. Felt so sorry for their guy on defender, he must have dealt with a lot of insults. He did stand on the damn node though the *******. All that and not one MVP vote. You can't account for the stupid, even from your own team. You would have thought me yelling AND IT'S A HATRICK would have made my team realise why we won by such a landslide but no. Lol
  2. They are all valour sixty plus, so I even enjoy them all in PVP.
  3. I have five fifty plus characters. Those in my sig plus a Powertech (that's just to see the imp side). I always feel that I would get more out of the game if I focused more on a main. But I just can't seem to do it. Maybe bioware has actually done a rather decent job of spreading the fun and effectiveness of classes. I know in the past my main things I looked for were, ranged Dps, ability to spec full heals and stealth. Of my classes commando and scoundrel tick the most boxes. Two each. But all the classes have great fun elements. I guess I have grass is greener syndrome and can't focus on just one class. How do other people make this seemingly impossible decision?
  4. Does anybody know if using our roll, we can make it from the top ledge in hutball over the pit to the goal line ledge. Not able to get a pop of hutball for love nor money at the moment lol. Also does using talented sneak out of stealth for the speed boost, increase the range of the roll, since snares reduce it, that would be fair.
  5. It's swings and roundabouts. On my commando I was level 54.5 when I completed Makeb. On my scoundrel I was level 52.5. That difference is purely due to the mobs stealth gets you passed. I guess for the rest of the expansion, stealth will be a big advantage, but I was underleveled doing the plant quests and my first few runs through the dailies. Definitely too many mobs though, that level difference is rediculous for completion of the planet quests.
  6. For those PVP stats are you in tank or Dps gear. I have a vg and pt both at 50 and ran both as tank spec pre 2.0, so want to know what gear people are getting results with. Tank spec was always more fun and mobile than the easy pyro assault anyway
  7. Can't RE the oranges you craft. So green gloves are the cheapest way for armormechs. So that's an average 80 compounds 100 metals and 20 of the new flux. Yeah they are going to cost a good 200k pet kit on the gtn
  8. Has anybody tried the new bolster, with just shells of modable armour, with no mods in, to see if we can look good, but still have the same stats, as naked people?
  9. One thing free to play players can't do is................ Post on the forums!!!
  10. Want to give me an example of any game ever which let you trade in gear after an expansion?
  11. With a vanguard an commando in the group already, the last thing you want is another class that needs aim gear. Go sage it will give you the range and heal spec if needed. Also it's generally better than commando at healing.
  12. How dare you think outside the box, that's not allowed round here lol. Also forget headshot, it does not work on players also they are removing it in a few days. Good to see you having fun by trying your own thing. If you like the versatility of dirty fighting, when 2.0 hits try it with 11 in sawbones for slow release, that's going to have some really insane staying power with the heal on roll.
  13. Why 3 v 3 or 5 v 5? The obvious size for this game is 4 v 4. That would work well.
  14. We are not going to get anywhere with this. Essentially it boils down to people not being willing to try different compositions which may well work. People being unwilling g to think for themselves, rather than using a set up which is tried and tested is the real issue. We have used one and it had worked for us. If more people would be willing to try different things maybe things woe not have been so stale for the past six months. Either way I'm looking forward to 2.0, not just for my scrapper but for all my classes, as all I do is PVP on them all. Things are getting a shake up and that will make things better for a while anyway, then we will probably end up back at the same place with people being too scared to try their own thing.
  15. Right this is my last attempt to get some truly dense people to understand the point. I'm English and the only truly respected source of English linguistics is Collins dictionary and thesaurus (not a clue who your Webster's is). This is from Collins online- viable adjective = workable, practical, feasible, suitable, realistic, operational, applicable, usable, practicable, serviceable, operable, within the bounds of possibility • commercially viable products opposites: impossible, unworkable, impracticable, hopeless, unthinkable, inconceivable, out of the question I have filled in for a shadow on my scrapper on 7 occasions (other times I am my slinger), of those we have won 3. So it is possible to win as/with a scrapper in rated. We are not the best team so that's not really much different to our normal win loss average. If its possible to win as a scrapper on your, then that makes it a "viable" team member (heck even if you consider what is reasonable, 3 out of 7 is reasonable as anything over 50% would be classed as probable). A better team than ours and a better player than myself could probably up that percentage a bit. This is a team game, all that matters is the result a team gets. Just because some people will only play in a optimal team does not mean that a sub-optimal team cant get results. Optimal does not equal viable.
  16. So in what ranked game would the sawbones have infinite time to try to kill a solo enemy node guard? They would call for help, which would get there before you killed them. And you try to call me a derp lol. I have solo guarded in ranked, I know it can be done. I don't really give a crap anymore that you don't as you clearly know diddly squat, given your above statement.
  17. If your sole node guard does not have stealth, it's going to get jumped by an attacker that does. No sucessfull ranked team would use a healer as the sole node guard. Sawbones healer maybe. But that sawbones sure cant attempt to solo an enemy node.
  18. Akavi Sparr works wonders for sawbones soloing dailies. She does aoe, so keeps aggro, but as she is Dps things die much quicker than with corso. Also she is plain awesome, just avoid suggesting her and Risha fight over you, that doesn't end well.
  19. Lol I don't need to contest your points. I was only ever arguing about the semantics. We all know shadow is the best node guard. But scoundrel is the 2nd best of 8 classes. Its like saying Lewis Hamilton is not a viable formula one driver because Sebastian Vettel is world champion. I was only ever saying its possible to use one. If you ask the best rated guild on your server if they could still win with a scoundrel as node guard, id bet money on them saying yes they could. Its just a sad state of affairs that no one is willing to look at compositions beyond the cookie cutter ones. It would be great if we have 4v4 arenas here as then we could really see how the classes do (I think scrappers would do incredibly well here, as there's not really a single class that I cant beat one on one, some are harder than other though). Arenas would reward people who played different compositions as people would not know what to expect from them. Getting past the semantics now if the sniper situation really does happen and they become FOTM, I would not be at all surprised if scrappers then get their own spot in the optimal rated teams as sniper killers. Having said that, I don't think sniper will actually manage to become FOTM, as its a whole lot harder to master than people think. Its always been popular in low level WZ's, but always has tailed off massively in 50's. That's the class I play when I want to do massive damage and be involved in the main combat. I just accept that scrapper is used for a specific roll.
  20. Well they are getting resource management sorted out, no more need to refresh pungency, which is nice. They are getting a lot of mobility. The roll is borderline overpowered if used well, this will give them much needed utility in huttball, they are going to become one of the fastest moving classes, by a mile. Also we are kind of expecting an influx of snipers and gunslingers, which helps scoundrel dps, as we are probably the best in game at killing those. As I said before its not going to be the same roll as your Vanguard/Powertech, but it will be better than it is now in PVP (I do still maintain that it is fairly decent right now). Also it still the coolest class to play in game
  21. Still not there. Reasonable chance to succeed is viable. Best chance of success is optimal. You keep going on about the best chance and claiming that is what is viable. That is what is optimal. Tell me anything that can not be done with a Dps scoundrel on your team. If it can be done with one then it is viable. Also the point of this thread was about 2.0. Which considering they are viable before it and they are only going to be more so after it. I have often replaced a shadow (optimal node guard) in ranked when none was available. We still win, therefore it's viable if not optimal. I really don't do pve, so can't say about that. But in ranked PVP it is currently viable and will only get better in 2.0. People just need to understand its role (2nd best node guard or ninja capper). The below is from your Webster's as the definition of Viable- Synonyms achievable, attainable, doable, feasible, practicable, realizable, possible, workable Is a scrapper a viable (per the above definition) node guard in ranked? (not dependant on team carrying you, its the most solo role in the game). Then the only answer is YES!! I get that some people may not have like the tone I used at the OP, I was a bit rude, I know that. Essentially what I got from the op was this. "I used to play scoundrel when it was overpowered, as soon as it was balanced, I dropped it like a hot potato". It was still possible to do any role well with it, many of us stuck it out and can do very well with it. Allot just gave up on it, when it was viable all along. They gave up because they wanted an easy class to play. I don't really want any of the FOTM re-rollers that played it when it was overpowered, to come back to it. If the op loved the play style, then why drop it in the 1st place. People need to be willing to learn how to play well, not just easily.
  22. I think you need to look up what viable means, you appear to have confused its meaning with optimal. Which is kind of sad when you are trying to make a point about the meaning of the word lol. Also i was quite clear that they fill different roles. So you cant really compare, Scrapper Scoundrel defends nodes and ninja caps, even in rated. Pryo is in the zerg.
  23. My point is viable is not the same as easy to play. He played it in the past but went to pyro, presumably because you can have the same effect for less effort. It's not getting a lot easier to play just a little, so pyro will still be more his style if that's why he changed.
