  1. Unstub and enjoy another game and don't spend money on this one until they fix it is the best thing you an do.
  2. I can't take it anymore. Started to level a Sith and it was so much better it just upset me even more. I canceled today. If they fix operative I'll likely come back. I really expected to play this game for a long while, and loved it until I hit the point where it became clear how bad my character was. Oh well.
  3. Hey! Those companion bugs are important! After all they heal better than you do.
  4. Concealment is still the way to go, but drop 7 points into Lethality like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401ZG0GodzZhr.1 The extra 10% dmg of shiv and being able to use deliberate twice on an elite if you use it once early in the fight, or just use it on a mob in every fight instead of every other one make a big difference.
  5. I've leveled concealment mostly so far to 39. I tried Lethality tree for a few levels in the mid 30's and it was horrible. It looks good but in practice it is not. You run out of energy completely if you aren't watching it closely. For any elite even 4 levels below you if you don't burn your first TA on stim you will run out of energy or end up using your basic attack way too much. You kill things way slower and die far more often and are always in energy trouble. Your main talents cost more and you don't get backstab for free which I didn't realize how important that simple skill is until I didn't have it. I don't recommend anyone using that broken tree for anything, ever. Concealment is the way to go. Start like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401ZG0GodzbZhr.1 Get the 7 points in Lethality early on, then work your way up concealment like that. From there just keep working up and drop the points into the cunning whenever you want. The extra endurance keeps you alive through more fights which saves time in the long run over faster walking in stealth imho. Early on keep your first tank pet well geared with at least a modable chest, good tank stats on everything. And use backstab and shiv and overload shot like crazy. Once you get lacerate add that in your rotation right before you do another shiv when you already have 2 TA's up. Once you get your second pet who is DPS gear him up good and use him, take agro and use your doge and shield abilities then when you start losing health use the reduce hate skill and give him agro and finish the fight. It is way fast.
  6. I haven't played healer spec yet, I plan to try it soon. But personally I use Kolto Infusion on my concealment op and use it from time to time. No other healing is really viable and sometimes using that TA to heal yourself or your companion makes the difference. It has a prized place on my hotbar, which is freaking too full and I really need more options but that a different topic. I think Kolto Infusion is for the DPS ops myself and not meant for the healers which is why it seems bad to healers. While the healing tree needs some work, I don't think this skill is going to change since I don't think it is for that tree.
  7. Oh bummer. I need to fix some of my gear too. For god sake reducing defense sounds like it should help shiv. This whole no talking and no documentation and no info thing is a pain in the ***.
  8. I wonder why they spent so much time and millions of dollars on voice acting for the small part of the game that doesn't matter? Or maybe it is because that is most of the game and the story quests are enjoyable which is why this MMO is popular. And when your class blows so hard it pulls you out of the story it isn't as fun. On a side note I can finish a planet with an SI in about half the time, it kills faster and there is way less downtime. If you really don't think it matters why would you want to spend twice the time on it? So either way, you aren't making any sense. But the fact is, questing does matter, for this game anyway. And DPS ops blow at it.
  9. This is probably one of the best uses for social gear, it is perfect for him. Personally I use Traditional Thermoweave Vestments for his chest which is a craftable orange. I think it looks cool as heck. He is my own personal jedi/bug guy. My favorite companion so far. I think +force power works for his attacks too and I have that on his focus. He is a bug jedi, robes work for me.
  10. Leveling a DPS operative is is key since operatives are so OP strong mobs can take you down, and you can use it on strong mobs. It kills their DPS and lets you do the big stab that you can only do to stunned targets. Maybe at very high levels it isn't an issue but so far up to 39 it helps with strongs a lot. It is worthless on normal mobs they are too weak to bother.
  11. Maybe for end game raids. But then why do so many people say DPS OPs aren't wanted in those groups? Even if you are 100% correct, so freaking what? My Op is level 39. Level 50 content and raiding isn't the only kind of PVE. It seams only PVP'ers and level 50 raiders are the only people that come to these boards. Maybe that is why leveling with an OP is so painful, everyone else has no voice.
  12. Look I get lethality is a dot class and you can do a lot of damage in raids against big bosses. But running around solo trying to do your class quest, taking out elites = to your level Lethality is just terrible compared to just about every other option and still not nearly as good as concealment even after the patch. Maybe if you raid all the time you don't notice because everything is 4 levels below you when you get around to doing your class quests. But if you want to solo quests designed to be soloed that are level appropriate, Lethality is terrible. And it doesn't make you smart if you can watch your energy and make it work by micro-managing it. It makes you not-smart by not simply going concealment and killing twice as fast and having more fun while missioning. Saying concealment is not for PVE is silly, clearly you should be able to do solo quests with it and in all cases other than raiding it is for sure better than lethality anyway. So come on dev's. Show some love.
  13. You know people still need to get to level 50 and most like to do so by PVE, class quests and the quests around it. While it is interesting how good or not level 50's are with this or that gear. The fact remains any DPS op is slower and harder to level up and quest than other DPS classes. Concealment was and IS still the best option since Lethality is so bad for leveling. Yes, yes, some level 50 uber gear person can now tell me how great their dots are for uber bosses that take 10 minutes to kill. Fine, I'm sure you are right. But getting from level 35 to 36 with Cull and watching your energy bar blows so I don't care. Yes I tried it. Now concealment in the 30's and 40's are worse than before for leveling and they were already not as good as they should be and the only other option is healing to level which not everyone wants to play. So the OP question is, what the heck? It is a valid question and I see no reason why it shouldn't get an answer.
  14. Not too different but thank you for the link and bump. If you add these ideas to that thread we can let mine die. The problem with the idea of overload shot and shiv sharing a cool down from that thread is it would further hurt concealment. You often get blown back from your target especially starting in the mid 30's. Your best option while running back to them is overload shot. Also while in their face overload shot is part of the rotation while backstab and shiv cool down, so sharing that cool down would leave you with less DPS skills. For PVE concealment does not need less regular DPS. Making that change would really hurt the other tree. My idea wouldn't hurt concealment like the idea posted in that thread. You could make overload shot have a slighly longer cool down if needed. I don't see how being able to generate more TA easier will make the OP more powerful than anyone else in PVE nor should have a huge difference in PVP, the burst will be the same either way really.
  15. Replace Deadly Directive with Hardened Barrels: Each rank granting 50% chance of a TA when using Overloaded Shot (100% with 2 ranks) and reduces the energy cost of Overloaded Shot by 3 (or whatever works for balance). Replace Flash Power with Advanced Stim Boost: Each rank increases the amount of energy of Stim boost by X. Whatever works for balance. Hardened Barrels would also increase the DPS of Concealment and fix the PVE damage issues with the acid blade reduction. So two minor changes fix both DPS trees. Concealment gets more DPS due to more TA’s. Lethality gets a ranged TA and some better energy options. Simple. And easy since almost no one takes those two skills anyway, it will impact almost no one in a negative way and what you replaced it will is better. So really, simple and easy. Please? Pretty Please?
  16. Have you ever played a DPS op in PVE? Lethality is the most broken least fun horrible tree there is. If that tree in op worked at all for PVE there would be far less PVE rage against this patch. Concealment is a far better PVE tree than Lethaility, far better. First off Lethality doesn't have enough DPS at all until you get Cull which is way high in the tree. Once you get it managing energy is a nightmare and if you keep your energy high you do so by limiting your DPS a ton. People say it is a kiting tree but you need to stab someone to get a TA to do the cull. Most people who try to make it work go half up the healing tree so it is really a healing spec with more damage not really a DPS spec. Why they aren't fixing the Lethality tree which is totally worthless should be causing more rage this the changes to concealment. That said, concealment is still far better post path for PVE and the changes only affect very high levels with acid blade. As long as you can stay 2 levels above everything and keep both your gear and your companion's gear current and mostly blue you are fine. It is harder than most but still doable. Raids and end game are a problem. People like me who like to PVE and don't want to be a healer and picked op because they like the rogue style are ticked off and rightfully so. I would be good with them fixing ether DPS tree myself. If they don't I'll finish leveling with concealment until I hit a wall, then around level 50 I'll make him a healer and have fun playing my SI for DPS and likely shelve my agent once I get through the very cool storyline.
  17. Waylay would be huge assuming you can often be behind the target since you always run into power issues having a free backstab would help that a ton. This may work. I'm not level 50 yes so I'm not sure. I can tell you I tried Lethality for 3 levels, 35-37 and I had cull the whole time. It was the least fun I have had in this game. It was so much worse than concealment. I had such a hard time killing things quick enough, I had huge energy problems. You just have to waist your first TA on stim boost if you are doing an elite fight which hurts DPS and you have to watch your bar close and hold back on DPS skills or you will run totally out of energy in middle of the fight. It is far worse than concealment. Concealment was nerfed for PVE, which blows. But Lethality is totally broken from what I can tell, which is way worse. Anyway, I think this build will help with the power issues, but I don't think it would be better and it will be less fun. Just my thoughts.
  18. More vibroknife options are really needed, at least for PVE. There are only a few blue ones that crafters can make with huge level gaps. There are damage stats on them but I don't know if the knife really affect the damage or if it is a pure stat stick. Either way, being able to have blue ones would help leveling. Other classes can have blue off hand items without skipping 15 levels, I don't know why IA's can't.
  19. That may be true, but why can't we more easily get blue stat sticks like everyone else? I can get a blue focus easy enough, but not a knife. Lord knows we need it.
  20. THIS! The bug makes it so the 2nd and 3rd time you have to start the fight with you doing a melee hit not a range and not a companion. Once you do that is is all about interrupts to keep you both alive. You will get it, the bug killed me a few times too before I figured it out.
  21. I'm in my mid 30's Op doing PVE mostly. These changes don't yet impact me, but it sounds like they are with PVP in mind. My question is with these changes will a concealment ops even be able to solo their class quest at higher levels? In mid 30's I can tell you missioning is far harder than SI for example and a single melee elite my level can often kill me. I need to make sure I stay 2+ levels above everything. At the end that isn't really an option and by reducing the dmg at those levels I'm afraid PVE will be close to broken for this class. Any thoughts on that?
