  1. This is how I do it as well. I'll start with it on the healer, but if I ever see a dps pull threat from me in the middle of a fight, that dps is guarded from then on.
  2. It does look at lock outs, and if the group leader has already done one (thereby forcing the group to do the one he hadn't) apparently only the leader gets his BH comms. Kind of stupid, if you ask me. I could understand if it wouldn't let you do a premade if someone in the group already had locks on both, but if the entire group has one raid available, and some have both still available, everyone should get credit.
  3. 27th was a day after 1.3 hit, that's probably why.
  4. The reward itself is set as a daily so you can do it two consecutive days if you want, or can spread them out. But yes, you can only claim the Ops reward twice in a week.
  5. Hop on the computer and log in roughly 15 minutes before you put the kids to bed? By the time you are done and able to play, you should be sitting at character select.
  6. Concern 1: RP Server - Transfers are only offered between servers of the same type anyway, so you would be transferring to another RP server. Concern 2: Login Queue - Even after transferring to a high pop server, I have not had any login queues to deal with, and I am on a normal PvE server. I would wager that the same would hold true for an RP server. Either way, this is something you can monitor before transferring by looking at the server list and seeing if there is a wait time on the destination server you would be moved to. Concern 2.5: People Ninjaing - A valid concern, not really something you can monitor beforehand. Overall, many people are happy with the LFG tool as it is implemented. You are part of a very vocal minority, and it is entirely possible Bioware is spending more money running the server you chose to stay on than they are making from the people who also chose to stay on that server. If that is the case, losing you and the subs of the others on those origin servers, who are too stubborn to transfer, would actually save them money.
  7. Well, if you are so worried about it, then I can only assume it's a valid worry. Also, since you know what your destination server is going to be, you can create characters on that server to see if those names are taken. If they aren't, delete the characters you just made to test, and transfer. NO RISK INVOLVED when you act intelligently. You are causing this problem for yourself, deal with the consequences.
  8. Thank you for finally admitting you are on a crusade for cross server because you are stubborn. Maybe try and make some more original names next time, and you won't risk losing them. Of my 8 characters, I lost 4 names, which I fully expected to lose because they come from a highly popular series of books. My other 4 names I have used in about 5 different MMOs and have never had issues with them being taken, because I actually came up with them.
  9. Yes, the tooltips say they are cumulative totals.
  10. Personally, it depends on what type of bad they are. If they just aren't understanding mechanics, or AOEing and breaking CC, then it's logical to help them. If they ninja loot, there's no helping them.
  11. You apparently don't understand the post, if you think it assumes every server provides the same number of tanks, heals, and dps to the queue. If that were the case, there would be no change in queue time for anyone, as the proportions of tanks:heals:dps would be the same either way. The ONLY thing changing it to be cross server, if every server did that, would be adding the complications of people having no reputation to keep track of. Let's just state the truth: You people who are too stubborn to move to a higher population server are pushing for cross server because it will drastically improve your queue times. Meanwhile, those that did take the transfers will take a hit to theirs. To quote Spock: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one." Single server is fine for many people, and those many people would be hurt by going cross server. In contrast, single server is bad for a few people, and those few people would gain by going cross server.
  12. TOR already has an easy-so-you-can-experience-the-content mode, it's called Story Mode. Prior to LFR in WoW, you needed a decent endgame guild to experience endgame raiding, as there was no easy way to PUG raids. We currently have an easy way to PUG story mode raids with the LFG tool. Cross server is irrelevant to the point you are making.
  13. Ok, let's assume the distribution is roughly the same on all servers. That means you gain nothing in terms of queue time, and have the added complication and higher likelihood of bad behavior due to anonymity. As for the issue of smaller pool to grab players from: Yes, adding cross server would form a few extra groups, due to some servers being more tank heavy, and others being more healer heavy, but is that (relatively miniscule) amount of extra groups formed worth the hassle that anonymity creates? That answer depends on the person. For me, it is not. In other words: Pros of cross-server queues: 5-10% more groups formed across whole game population, due to balancing of tank/heal populations. Cons of cross server queues: Anonymity allows people to be more irresponsible with their actions, since their name has no meaning.
  14. Neither, 30% total. 2 + 4 = 6 + 6 = 12 +8 = 20 +10 = 30
  15. Funny, I'm having more fun in my new hyrbrid spec on my juggernaut than I had pre-patch.
  16. If they gave you an choice of single character or legacy-wide, then the legacy-wide rice needs to be 8x the single character price. Otherwise it would be stupid to purchase single character versions.
  17. Actually, it is correct. Almost every server has a shortage of tanks and healers in the queue, and a ridiculous number of dps compared to them. Take this example: Server 1 has 15% Tanks, 20% healers, 65% dps Server 2 has 20% tanks, 5% healers, 75% dps Server 3 has 25% tanks, 25% healers, 50% dps (optimal) Add all 3 together and you end up with: 20% Tanks, 16.66% healers, 63.33% dps. For servers 1 and 2, dps queue times go down. For server 3, they go up. BUT, servers 1 and 3 now have a smaller proportion of healers to queue with than they had with the single server architecture, whereas server 3 has a much larger proportion of healers. So 1 and 3 take a hit to their average queue time. Now, obviously It's impossible to know for sure, but some servers would experience an increase in queue times by going with cross server, and some would experience a decrease.
  18. How, exactly, is it highly contrived. It's common knowledge that LFG tools have a shortage of tanks and healers. The perfect server would have a 25% tank, 25% healer, 50% dps population using the LFG tool. Granted there may be servers that are actually low on dps, but that is EXTREMELY rare. Fact is, the closer your server is to 25/25/50, the better off you are. Some servers are fairly well balanced, others are not. Those that aren't will INCREASE dps queue times for those that are, and those that are will DECREASE dps queue times for those that aren't, if combined into a cross server model. Thing is, most servers don't have good balance, so it usually only results in a small total decrease in wait time, possibly even breaking even.
  19. Correct on one level, incorrect on another. Allow me to quote my previous example. So yeah, more groups will be formed, but DPS (the ones who are complaining about queue times) will potentially have longer queue times. This was on page 3 of the thread...
  20. How, exactly? I'm would wager the number of people who stayed on their origin servers (and will quit if it becomes mandatory) is less than or at least equal to the number of people who came back with transfers + lfg tool. Bioware has stated the game only needs to maintain 500k subs to remain profitable, and they likely aren't in danger f going under any time soon.
  21. You reap what you sow. If you choose not to transfer, you deal with the negatives (and positives) of being on an extremely low pop server, just as those that transferred deal with the negatives (login queue times) and positives.
  22. You were given a chance to transfer for no cost, you chose not to take it. You are now experiencing the problems associating with not transferring. This isn't BW's fault, they provided you with the tool, and the opportunity to make use of it. On a related note, yeah, there will be massive disparities between servers based on population, and what cross server does is average them all out. What you are saying is, since you CHOSE not to transfer, you want everyone else's queue times bogged down by your servers abysmal queue times?
  23. Leaving would put the tank or healer on a 15 minute lockout from queuing again, so that's not a viable option. That leaves vote kicking as the only option, and that's hard to manage if they are only slightly annoying to 1 person. Currently, the most viable option is to suffer through it the first time, then put the bad dps on your ignore list. After that they will never get grouped with you again using the lfg tool. Bad dps does this too many times, and they effectively screw themselves over.
  24. Or they are a person who realize that cross server won't solve the problem, and, for a majority of the people who play (dps specced people) it will make the queue times WORSE.
  25. First, HM Ops require more coordination than a typical pug group can muster, so very few people would actually use it for them. Second, with the daily rewards from lfg, you can get 45 black hole tokens a week, add in the black hole weekly for 51, and the Kaon+LI weekly for another 8, to total 59. The most expensive pieces cost 60, so no, it doesn't take months to get just one piece.
