  1. Indeed.. So until they have a more permanent fix for this issue they should limit the amount of players that can be present in an instance... they did it not long ago with the fleet pop. Now do it with the instances also until they can really fix it proper. Just do something as this is pushing me away from having a fun time playing.
  2. See, this is what I've been thinking myself. High server pops def. have a large impact on performance.
  3. Not that I disagree with you mate. But what you talk about is design flaws in your opinion. You and others may not like/agree with the way Bioware have done things, but it has nothing to do with this issue. When a core mechanic in the game (the combat) is not working properly due to the engine/server-client communication they really need to throw some resources it's way so it can be fixed. Ignoring it would be the same as ignoring people randomly disconnect every 5-10 min during peak hours. Wiping on bosses that our guild has on farm due to this is not fun. And tbh I think they should get things like this fixed before they try to please the unpleaseable crowd out there, because ignoring this issue will ondoubtly cause more harm than a few design decisions some people don't agree with. Remember, this lag issue is effecting everybuddy, not just a portion of players.
  4. So my server (The Red Eclipse EU) was/is one of the distanation servers and I can tell you that before the transfers we rarely had lag problems. After we got floded with people the lag increased exponentially day by day. The last 2 weeks our guild had to call off 2 EC HM runs simply due to the lag issues. But there is more to this than just lag. All our guildmembers incl. people I know outside of our guild also got another just as annoying issue. We call it ability/GCD skipping. Basicly it's when you activate an ability the GCD will fire off, but the ability won't. Sometimes the problem is so bad that people skip 4-5 GCD in a row. Last Tuesday when we called the EC HM run we did that due to lag and ability/GCD skipping. The ability/GCD skipping was so bad that on average, people in our raid had this happening 15 to 20 times during a boss fight. Now if you add all these ability/GCD skipping up it would translate to people not doing anything for 22,5 to 30 sec during that fight. That is simply not acceptable. I can deal with bugs and such, but when my char is unresponsive for around 20% of a bossfight it's not fun anymore. And ontop of that you can add the 3-5 sec lag spikes wich accure on average every 3-5 min. All these problems started as soon as people got transfered to our server so I'm in no doubt it's due to the servers being overlaoded and can't handle the data traffic presented to it on peak hours. So imho I think Bioware should maybe, just maybe fix this before pumping out new content. At peak hours the game is so laggy that it's not even enjoyable. I stayed with the game since beta in hopes that the game would improve and tbh it did on alot of fronts, but this issue is really starting to get on my nerves. I love the game and I want Bioware to fix this. But my patiens is really running low. Of all the bad things that IMO can be said about WoW, there is one thing Blizzard have nailed down perfectly and that is the combat. The combat in WoW is extremly responsive and enjoyable. Sad thing that Blizzard flushed the game down the gutter a couple of years ago (This is my personal opinion and I'm not presenting this as facts). If bioware could uptimize their servers to make the combat feel just as responsive I would be a very happy gamer. Or atleast get it back to the state it was before the transfers.
  5. No.. this is another problem on it's own. What people are talking about is the stupid amount of lag that followed with the character transfers. My server (The Red Eclipse EU) was/is one of the distanation servers and I can tell you that before the transfers we rarely had lag problems. 6. You might have been lucky, who knows. But you do see that being locked to 1, 2 or more bosses severely diminish your chance at finding a grp right? This is all fine and dandy if thats the way you do it. But doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of having a grp finder to begin with? The whole purpose of this tool is so you can que up whenever you want as solo and get into FP, Ops etc. Since my guild aren't bothered with story mode I have to solo que for this if I want those 5 coms. And this is what the grp finder is made for. So why not make it so you can run story mode ops through grp finder as much as you like but lock you to only have loot once a week per boss? This way people can always que up again if the grp they are in fails cos of whatever reason. And I wouldn't have to worrie about if the grp I join will make it or not so I can get my coms this week. I don't no why people can't see these problems, or maybe this is their first mmo and their first experience with a grp tool like this.
  7. Ok.. I'll try one last time. Lets say you are not guilded and just wanna pop into an ops to get your BH for the day just like you do to get them from random FP's and something goes wrong for whatever reason. You now wasted your try this week to get your coms because the system have locked you and you have little to no chance at finishing it. Don't you see this as flawed. (I',m not talking about myself here. Just voicing my concerns for the average player out there trying to get his coms).
  8. Let me start by saying that I really love the game and that I think Bioware is doing a great job. That said I came upon a problem today with the groupfinder when signing up for operations. First of all, why have the reward say DAILY reward when it clearly is a weekly? I know you are able to run EV one day and the day after KP and get 10 BH coms in all. It still doesn't make it a daily reward in my opinion. Second. The way the system works is extremly flawed in my opinion. Keeping the weekly lockout in a LFG finder is just not gonna work well. I went into EV through the groupfinder the other day and started out on the second boss since someone left. Now thats all fine and good, but when we reached Soa, 2 people dropped and we were unable to find anyone to replace them. Now I'm locked for this week without the possibilty of getting those BH comes from finishing EV. I know I can que up again with the "Match With In-Progress Group" enabled, though since I have this wierd lockout (first and last boss stal available for me). There is little to no chance at getting into a grp to finish it up. And what if I que up again and get into KP and the same thing happens there also? Then I just lost out on 10 BH coms this week. In my opinion. What you should do is copy the system Blizzard use for their raid finder in WoW. There you are able to run a raid, in SWTORS case operations, through the groupfinder as often as you like just like Flashpoints. But you are only able to have a chance at loot ones a week per boss. This system doesn't punish the rest of the group if one a more suddently have to leave for whatever reason. You can simply just leave the group and que up again. Please consider this, because the way the system works now will just ruin the whole point of queing up if you are gambling with the fact that you might or might not get you BH coms for this week trhough this tool. Best regards, Szander
  9. Am I the only one that see the flawes in the system when it comes to LFG ops?
  10. look. I know how the LFG tool works. But if I wanna run ops through LFG tool for my coms (by myself) and I get screwed over cos people are bad, suddently leaving etc. I think it is a flawed system that I'm now locked. If I get halfway through an ops and it falls apart I will have little to no chance at getting into a grp on the same progrsseion as I'm on, making it impossible for me to get those BH coms that week. If you and the other people in this thread can't see the flaw inn it I really don't know what to say. EDIT: One thing you guys apparently don't get is that I would survive fine without those coms anyway. I'm just as much thinking of people still gearing up and looking at this as a sorce to get BH coms.
  11. I know this... but it will severely limit your chance of getting another grp since people can be locked at certain bosses, something I find a bit stupid tbh. Still think it would have worked alot better to just use the system WoW uses for it's LFR tool. Loot lockout. But let us run the ops as often as we want from start to finish. It would solve alot of problems.
  12. I know... and I just tried the LFG to get into an ops for ***** and giggles.. and it turned out to be a horrific exp. that resulted in not completing the ops cos people where either undergeared or simply bad. Now imagen these same rules applied to FP. Woulnd't you be a bit annoyed about that? The matter is, that it says it gives 5 BH DAILY and since I coulnd't drag my guild trhough it since we are farming EC HM, it is still 5 BH coms daily. I just think it's wierd to limit it like this. Alot of stuff can happen and screw it up.
  13. So basicly what you are saying means that if I get into KP or EV through the LFG and halfway through it 1 or 2 have to leave for whatever reason, the rest of us are basicly srewed since we are now locked and won't have it popping again if you sign up. They really need to fix things like this since it only takes one person to screw over 7 other people.
  14. Ok, so I've search around and haven't found any threads on this or I'm just blind. I really only have one question I hope someone have an answer to. In LFG it tells you, you can resive 5 BH coms DAILY for doing story mode EV or KP. But since the ops are on a weekly reset timer how would it be possible to run them daily? In wow's LFR finder Blizzard have solved this by loot limiting. In essence it works like this. You can run a raid as many times as you like within a week (just like a normal or HC FP), but you are only able to get loot the first time you do it and you are locked out from loot the rest of the week. Is this the same Bioware have done or is it simply a typo from their part?
  15. Nice to here that Ryofo. So hopefully they are doing as I suspected they will. Continue to copy the rest of the people that signed up in time before the deadline.
