  1. i wouldnt say sents are overpowered, however, they are close to it, and a few other classes just really need a buff. cant wait to see all the fotm reroll sents leave when sorcs/mercs/whatever gets buffed. itll be nice to not have half the team the same class as me.
  2. ive been playing since launch--i quit for a few months due to pvp lag when i upgraded my comp(smooth as a baby's buttocks now). i came back, dfidnt have a 50. im an altaholic and couldnt decide on a main. i still cant, but since i usually played a warr, dk, or pally in wow i figured a pure m,elee class would likely be best, so i tested out my 30 guard and my 12 sent to see which was more fun(not which one achieved 300k damage and 1v2-5d[yes i said 5, only because i got the heal buff in voidstar mind you, and had a wz medpack, and one of them was a level 11 assassin with 1 single saber that only used shock and FL] baddies, but more fun). i decided sent was more enjoyable for me, mainly due to guardians not getting their damage things til 30s and 40s. so, claim i fotm rerolled if you will(i will admit its fun not being able to lose a 1v1 at level 12 and getting such high damage), but i do plan to stick with sent as my main even when they get nerfed just like my sorc and my merc.
  3. hmm...something like that could work extremely well. on dromund kaas theres a quest where something similar happens to a squad of sith troopers, so its obviously plausible in the star wars universe. hell yeah i like this idea. it sounds better and more like my favorite story/class every second i think about it!
  4. id love it, but how would you do the convo options? a droid follows programming. hk-47 was programmed as an assassin droid, so he was basically...well pretty much evil. other are more light, and they can develop personality quirks but they would still follow their programming...id like to see it but it would be rather difficult to do.
  5. well, my sorcerer is lightside and still a sith. she hates the sith and all they stand for. she would defect to the jedi if they wouldnt kill her for all shes done. but shes almost certain they would(not all jedi in this game are lightside, just as not all sith are darkside). so she deals with the sith. she doesnt come out and say she hates the sith in a public broadcast or anything, but she doesnt hide it either, because so what if someone finds out and doesnt like it? she can take em.
  6. see thats my thing too. i have a sorc and a merc at high levels, but i really wish i was commando and sage. even though lightning is coolor than rocks, being stoned to death kinda hurts right? so i wouldnt mind it. im slowly working on it but its just a lot of painful lowbie pvp, especially sage before bubble, speed, slow, or any talents really.
  7. my sorcerer most certainly would. she was born a slave, therefore she hates slavery, one of the empires main things. and due to her being a former slave and always mistreated she does have a dark streak in her(she likes shocking people at random times when shes talking but she has a mostly good heart, and only fights the republic because she sees it as her only option, as the republic would most certainly kill her after all shes done to them with her epic lightningzz.. so would all of my empire character but none of my republic characters would. because i like being the good guy all my chars are light side, and if i wasnt lazy i would just reroll to repub side. idk if im necroing or not and i dotn care
  8. play the knight or consular story. i find the consular, act 1 at least, to be very similar to kotor 2s story, and ofc the knight story is very similar to the movies and kotor 1. i like that they made an mmo, so i can now both pvp with my character, and play a LS caster that doesnt sit around buffing and throwing her lightsaber. yes they should definitely do this. and do kotor 2 and release them in a 2pack thing or something. kotor 2 is so much more fun, the story just seems so much darker and mature than kotor 1.
  9. yes t3s death upset me more than meetras tbh. it also upset me that they made revan fall to the darkside on his own again in swtor(say whatever you want, trying to kill 97% of the imperial population is darkside. and it was something hk-47 agreed with so its obviously darkside cus of that too).
  10. dont think anyone will mind a minor necro here... My scoundrel has the name of Dakota, soon to be Dakota Duo. Not overtly out of place, but with obvious meaning, and aliteration! my how i love names with literary devices in em!
  11. well i see your point, and while unfortunately it is more true than not, the same could be said to compare star wars fans to trekkies... though that does explain some things. revans story is more tradition star wars, "this is the good guy this is the bad guy go kill the bad guy". where as meetras is more subtle, and less obvious though quite possibly more significant.
  12. actually i have seen several. in fact, the main reason i used to be one of the revan fanboys was because most of the things exile fans put up for her were more made up than things revan fans were using. then you came along and i realised that those were just idjuts. but still, the majority of both fanbases i would say tend to over play their power levels. i still think that bioware/obsidian always wanted revan to be thought of as more powerful(drew who had bioware and lucas arts backing certainly did), but meetras story is much more mature, if perhaps a little less classical star wars, and the hardships shes overcame and knowledge of the lightside puts em at about equal in power in my eyes now. hmm...i got rather of topic there didnt i? i think ill just go back and put that part in spoiler tags or something.
  13. hmm. thats sad to hear. im still in the process of obtaining the others but i honestly did enjoy the first one. ofc, i honestly enjoyed the revan novel as well, but they(i claim EA, but most claim bioware and drew did it.) screwed meetra over, and revan even more. revan had to come back in the game and go completely nuts. meetra at least got to die a hero. i also realised as i was going through kotor 2 again that people claim that traya/kreia didnt know how powerful revan was, when she claimed that meetra was her greatest student, and also that she only claimed that because the exile was the means to accomplish her goals. but iirc, she actually admits that that was just her cover or something, and that she was making sure meetra was ready to go back to war with revan, and also im positive that she mentions at other points during the game events that happened during the revan novel, suggesting that she know all about what revan had been up to of late(i.e: revan telling canderous to become mandalore and unite the clans before leaving again).
  14. he did a decent enough job with the first bane novel. ofc, that was banes origin so we hadnt heard of him so he couldnt really screw him up. but point still stands. kinda. meh? reading that line again certainly explains why i was confused on it for a a while. you've got to admit it can be confusing for someone who refuses to read anything revolving around the movies, or characters from the movies(alright, thats a flat out lie, but i do always read something from the old republic period if possible over movie or later. i just dont find the movie period as interesting.) I cringe whenever i read something else lucas did with his own IP. He should have just made the movies and let it go. the original trilogy, not the prequals. if anyone was going to do the prequals, it should have been...well, anyone but lucas. i really should have someone really should have assassinated lucas after special edition. meetra > revan in coolness. meetra ≈ revan in power(many factors to consider here, and since we really cant put them against each other, the fact of the matter is we don't know. after seeing everyones post here, and having personally read some of his books, its pretty obvious to me drew is an extreme revan fanboi.)
  15. perhaps it is, i cant say whether it is or not. the dark side certainly seems perverted enough to me(hence why the only empire characters i have are a ls bh and a ls IA). but i still dont see how that defeats the point of my argument. however, after going back over my argument, could i ask someone to tell me my point? i think a few posts ago i pretty much gave in and basically agree with the other guy. i think maybe i was just saying that though meetra knows the ls better, revan uses them both and this gives him an element of surprise that might make him stronger? idk really. like i said, i think the only reason im even arguing at all anymore is for old times sake, and all my old revanite friends, seeing how going back over both their stories, meetra is a much more interesting and, well, heroic(as in she didnt fall to the darkside twice...)
  16. no you misunderstand me. i wasn't saying that was him combining them or anything, you got me on that i was wrong. i was saying that he just released the force, not the light or the dark. people aren't exactly expecting someone to come at them using just the force, rather than the light or the dark side. and there's also the fact that hes one of the few users who actually will use powers on both sides of the spectrum(again, no, not simultaneously) other than that, i would say his knowledge and willingness to use both sides evens out with meetras mastery of the light making them about even in a straight fight, only advantages revans got really is strategy, which meetra has got too, tho most sources seem to claim revan is better at it, if only slightly, surprise, in that they would have to counter both light and dark powers, though i honestly dont know if this is big at all, and maybe lightsaber combat. idk who is actually superior in lightsaber combat, revan defeated malak multiple times, right after defeating bastila multiple times, and fought off an unending army of droids sith etc, but meetra--well im sure you know well what meetra has done, so i wont go through the trouble of listing that. TL;DR: he didnt use them both simultaneously, but he can use them both(and will) and can also use just the force-not the light or darkside. other than surprise and maybe lightsaber combat they are about equal.
  17. Meetra was a master of the lightside and lightsaber combat. Revan on the other hand, was an strong adherent of the unifying force, and as such had a great deal of knowledge in both the light and the dark, evening out meetras mastery of the light were they to fight. The only real reason i would still claim that Revan is more powerful is because of the element of surprise--no one expects the spanish inq--oh sorry, i mean, no one expects to face someone using both the light and the dark, who can unleash the force in its purest form
  18. operative is more fun and is actually imo, due to stealth, easier to level. however, pt is easier for everything else besides leveling id say, can do more damage, can take more damage, has more utility. but i still find operative more fun, especially in pvp(yes thats right! pvp! with the nerfed class[yes i play concealment] and the buggy stealth!). if they had an operative pub side it would be hands down my favorite class. however, i like playing the good guy so every time i get on i have trouble deciding between playing a guardian, a vanguard, or my operative... oh and...HAHAHAHA ARRRIIIIIIIIISE! ARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE! ARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE FROM YOUR LONG SLUMBER MWUAHAHAHAHAHA!
  19. if it helps you can go back and solo him at level 50 and you might feel better because you were at least at the cap when you killed him? well, defeated him? anyways, revan is an odd character, one i used to idolize who i now see was always on a darth vader like path. he went to fight against the mandalorians cus the republic would have lost if he hadnt. ok thats fine. but he became just as, if not more ruthless than the mandalorians he was fighting, even before he went off and got minde f***** by the emperor, it was pretty obvious he had pretty much already fallen to the darkside, albeit for a good ends justify the means reason if you believe in that(which he obviously does). then he goes fights the emperor "redeemed", but hes betrayed and imprisoned for 300 years, after which when he is freed, he doesnt remember all his techniques and such, and has gone basically nuts, and plans to kill 97% of the imperial population by using something quite similar to the star forge(if it wasnt destroyed at the end of kotor i would have assumed that it was the star forge. instead its star forge # 2 out of what, 42? 9001?). So hes gone to the darkside again...and again he did it without the emperor dominating his mind. so no he wasnt at his full strength, however, they want you to feel heroic so even if he was you would still end up killing him eventually. I hate what they did with meetra, but at least she got to die a hero. revan got to be defeated and almost killed after being imprisoned for 300 years and going loony...they f'ed up revan a bit more than they did meetra... i blame EA though. i can almsot guarantee you that they forced bioware to include revan and meetra in the game, so bioware and drew had to find some way to plausibly bring revan forward 300 years in time...and idk for certain, but id say that EA probably made them make him someone you have to kill to make you feel more powerful...even though to me it makes me feel weaker...because i identify more with revan than i do my current character. until they give me an operative republic side that is. i love the operatives playstyle and the story is nice, but i really like playing the good guy. even though i know you get to do that at the end of agent story, its still not the same. and no, vanguard is not close enough. their too powerful. i just wenmt off on a really long rant that has nothign to do with this thread so i apologize.
  20. suriks a better character than revan. revan is more powerful though, which contributes to his popularity. but as someone else pointed out, in kotor 1 all we knew was that revan was hero, then he was evil, then he was forced to be hero again. kotor 2, the novel, and swtor introduced that he was mind controlled and fighting the emperors control the whole time. then swtor came out and they made revan go evil again, this time on his own(ofc, he was just about complete ds at the end of the mando wars before being mind f***ed by the emperor.) least meetra got to die a hero, rather than crzy evil wiping out 97% of the empire after falling to the darkside yet again... kotor 1 has the big twist, but the darkside/ls decisions in it is kick the puppy or pet the puppy...kotor 2 does have a darker and more mature story, and would have been a great game were it to be finished and some more bugs worked out.
  21. hey dont drag me back into this. i tried to get out by saying that i changed my mind and meetra is cooler, but there is a reason she follows him and is in love with him(not like bastila, you know what i mean, she says it herself). but revan is more powerful anywhere you look your fighting a very very uphill battle to say that meetra is stronger, despite being cooler. the book was published and is now just as canon as the sourcebook. just another case of conflicting canon. this is not the example your looking for, move along. me, and a whole lot of EU fans, have been ignoring lucas since special edition i wasnt stating that anyone used the "greyside of the force". i was stating that many, revan being probably the greatest example, used both, and believed in some philosiphies of, light and dark. whether or not revan was using them both simoultaneously, i cant say without going back and re-reading that specific part, however, iirc, it says that he released it in its purest form(something meetra has yet to be seen doing...or as far as i know, kyle katarn or luke, or vader, or........) being a revanite myself, i dont put him higher than he is, i put him in the top 5 at least of EU, and i put about all of the EU ahead of the movies(again, a choice finger to you mr lucas!). As far as im concerned, Meetra is in the top 10 at least of the EU, and quite near the top(ahead of revan) in coolness. but at least meetra just got to die in the novel. they made revan go crazy and try to kill 97% of the imperial population, using something quite similar to the star forge.
  22. Official Votes: 1: Rodian 2: Devaronian 3: Mon Calamari My "I Wish but Will Most Likely Never Happen Votes" 1: Droid 2: Mandalorian(might be more of a class, but technically even though many species make them up, they are a race so...) 3: Rakghoul/Nekghoul(some can obviously talk, and use the force, whats to stop em learning to use blasters, explosives, lightsabers, etc?) yes i realize the op quit. still hope that bioware takes this into consideration, and one of them or another poster might actually just copy his thread and continue updating it?
  23. it doesnt go against g-canon. the jedi believe that if you even touch the darkside you might as well be a sith. the sith basically believe the same. but there have been many grey despite what these two orders believe. jolee bindo, kreia/traya, etc. Revan used them both simultaneously in his fight with the emperor. normally using just one or the other the emperors attack would have overpowered him, however, using both, they were both staggered some. however, after playing through kotor 2 again i have changed my mind and agree that meetra is cooler. however, revan is clearly the stronger., though meetra is quite unique and powerful in her own right
  24. mmm....i must say i dont agree with meetras accomplishments being diminished by the book. i hate her ending in it, but i guess its not so bad as revans...seriously...they couldnt have just let him die a heroes death against the emperor? no he had to be betrayed by scourge and kept as a prisoner for 300 years until he finally gets rescued, but it turns out that after 300 years hes lost a decent amount of his combat skills and has gone crazy obsessed with destroying the empire(97% of the empire to be exact...) and has basically just fallen to the darkside again...at least meetra got to die with her accomplishments intact and not diminished by becoming crazy and damn near evil... again i still hate what they did with meetra in the novel. they did make her a bit too much of a sidekick. yes she idolizes revan and revan is the main hero, but still, they should have made her moreo f a hero too. instead they pretty much made scourge the main sidekick...they really should have made it obvious that meetra could have kicked his big red behind all up and down. but to be fair, i dont blame drew or bioware. i can almost guarantee you that EA forced bioware to include revan in the game despite it being 300 years later, so they and drew had to come up with some way for him to be in it. personally i got the game to play a new hero in a world shaped by revan and meetras journeys...sadly i got to be a hero in a world shaped by revan failing and going nuts, and meetra being stabbed in the back...literally...
