  1. Swtor is a great game, that could have been even better. People tend to focus on the later rather than the former.
  2. Case in point. The top teams in season 3 were Ours(POT5), Clickers(Bastion), Sibek's crew(Jung Ma) and Itcheye's Crew(POT5/Bastion Mix). The migration was largely due to the higher population on the server and the hope for consolidation. After season 3 though all the main teams went back to their respective servers. Mostly because the grass was NOT greener on Harbinger. Specifically, Solo Ranked was not very healthy compared to POT5/Bastion and the refugee teams quickly realized we were only playing against each other anyway. Harbinger is the go-to server for Reg pvp. You might get some Ranked(Group or Yolo) but those are definitely NOT the server's strong point.
  3. Harbinger has never really had a strong ranked population. It's been the "go to" server for regs though. The only times Harbinger has ever had a stable population was when POT5/Bastion refugees transferred to it for a while. (Most of which left shortly after) For East Coast? This is absolutely correct.

    Rating balance w/l

It's the result of an elo system with not enough players in matchmaking.
  5. It's not all that competitive compared to other games but, let's just be honest, even though only 1-2 teams queue a night.. the remaining Group Ranked players are generally the best of the best of all the remaining players. So, although we only have like 100 players that have even attempted Group Ranked on this server.. the top chunk within that group are generally the best of the 500 or so players that play Solo Ranked which.. tbh, are probably the best of the 2,000 people left on this server that do regs/pvp. So, it's not nearly as bad as you'd like it to seem. Regardless, it is a "positive/good" personality trait to try to strive to be the best. Generally, it is a character flaw to complain constantly about your circumstance while not attempting to better yourself.
  6. Ah.. that's a bit early for the prime time. Usually queues start popping around 11pm EST. Either way, when we queue up we usually try to get in touch with peopel via pm, general or pvp chat. I'll be sure to send a pm your way next time if I see you on. Carthy is the name, right?
  7. When do you queue? Primetime usually has at least 1-2 teams going. Except on Monday.. I couldn't get a pop at all. Yea, the class can do well when played well. Overall, I still think the biggest advantages of a Merc/Mando are still Dispel and Electronet. I'd like to see Mercs get Concussive as an Instant Cast baseline. That would be one step towards helping them a lot, so they don't have to waste other offensive cds.
  8. The current changes aren't sufficient to change much of anything.

    Learn how to CC

Holding other players to a certain standard is a slippery slope. I mean, I could easily ask why so few players use focus interrupts/taunts? I've seen very few players use focus modifiers tbh, and even fewer healers. (Although, I am sure many more do that I am unaware of.) My main point is.. "why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?"
  10. Everything else aside.. Commando/Merc are still too easily shut down and have trouble mitigating heavy damage. They are not ideal in Group Ranked still.
  11. Tbh it isn't really an issue. Good positioning usually is enough for innervate. Besides I'd much rather have the free utility point. Disagree. When playing against strong pressure comps, like double Hatred, every cooldown that you use that isn't directly going towards your hps hurts. Adding in an extra, instant cast, 4-7k heal isn't bad. Especially considering the other Tier 1 utilities are so bad.
  12. How can you guys playing the class not notice the bug? Honestly, it helps to explain why customer complaints about X being OP or Y being UP are so ridiculous sometimes.. I mean, for you to be playing a Lightning Sorc for almost 3 months and not notice you were basically immune to interrupts... zzzzzzzzzzzzz
  13. Well then. A lot of talking going on here but we weren't able to get a queue pop in Group Ranked all night yesterday. Just saying..
  14. As a Corruption Sorc in Group Ranked I usually grab- Heal on Overload 10% Healing Received 25% Extra Force Storm Damage Emersion on Force Speed Stun Bubble Instant WW Corrupted Barrier For Regs I grab the following- Heal on Overload 10% Healing Received 25% Extra Force Storm Damage Emersion on Force Speed Stun Bubble Root on Knockback (This is the only changed talent) Corrupted Barrier I am no real fan of Solo Ranked, if I were to play I would grab- Heal on Overload 10% Healing Received 3% Dmg Reduction Emersion on Force Speed Stun Bubble Shapeless Spirit (30% dmg reduction while stunned) Corrupted Barrier
  15. Yep, he isn't even using a shield. Full Power/Surge besides three pieces with Crit/Surge.
  16. Bioware already said that the "better than cross server queues" was misspoken at a casual event. So, unless they announce otherwise, never.
  17. What time do you even play? I don't think I've seen you since you came back to the server..
  18. Pubs on Harbinger have always avoided Ranked pvp. They do quite well in regs though. Tbh, if you want to get some Ranked pvp on Pub you should roll/xfer to Bastion. (However the opposite is true for regs)
  19. I tried to play a hard swap comp yesterday with a Jugg Tank, PT and Merc. It didn't work all that well against another Tier 1 team. AoE CC really is on the low. The comp probably would have worked better with an Operative Healer instead of me on a Sorc. I think for a Hard Swap to work effective you need at least 3 AOE CCs in order to get that healer. Otherwise you have to somewhat rely on bad enemy play. When we switched the Merc to IO and started CCing the healer and swapping between dps our results increased dramatically. So I think it can still work, but, with Sniper AOE gone and Warrior dps on the weak side it is hurting.. Once Warrior dps gets buffed it'll work better. I still think Jugg Tank and Operative Healers are the "go to" for the strategy. It might also work with a Operative Dps now as a Warrior replacement. Um, also with all the sorc healers running around though I think Merc is still much needed.
  20. I think the only class that is a huge detriment to your team is a Sentinel/Marauder. Any class can work besides them. (Even then, technically you can make Sentinel/Marauder work but it'll be the hardest carry) Be sure you know what your strategy is going to be before you just throw a team together. Are you going to hard swap? tank tunnel? or pressure? All three tanks are viable and do well in different circumstances. (PT has the most AOE damage but will suffer the most to dots, least utility. Sins handle dots the best, instant WW is awesome, great overall utility. Juggernaut has the best burst dmg and probably the most utility. Juggernauts do, by far, the least sustained dmg in tanking gear) All three healers are viable, however, Mercenary/Commando appears the clear weakest of the three since they can be shut down. Sorc/Sage comes out slightly ahead of Scoundrel/Operative in most situations. Ap PT and Hatred Sin are the current "top dogs" atm. Your performance should increase by running one of them, it will increase even more by running two of them. As I mentioned earlier Sent/Mara you should stay away from. Sniper/Slinger and Merc/Commando are both a bit tricky and will require a very high skill to perform with. Note: Just because every class can work, doesn't mean every spec can work.
  21. Powertechs go down pretty easily in this format. (Although, I will openly admit some other classes have it worse) They have very few counters to Dots and Internal damage.. which are both common in this format.
  22. Even once you get a good amount of gear Vanguards, despite what you might normally be inclined to think, are actually a glass cannon type class. They do very high damage, especially burst, but they can go down relatively easily. So, directly to one of your major complaints, even with gear.. your Vanguard will die a fair amount. (Unless you have tank/healer support)
  23. Vanguards are one of the two best dps classes in the game. Additionally, they have a tank spec that puts out the most damage. I assume your problem MIGHT be that you are using the Pyro tree. Switch to AP and you'll be fine.
  24. Actually, this is also exactly what it sounds like. Previously Hunters from WoW use to have a "deadzone" where they couldn't use any ranged abilities within 8 meters, with a max range of like 30 meters. So you would pull the melee like a "kite" in order to keep them as close to 30 meters as possible without allowing them to fall in the 8 meter range. Of course things have changed greatly since then. The "deadzone" is gone and almost every warrior class has an in-combat charge.
