  1. Quantity is not the issue. Thundering Blast is still predictable and will eat up the majority of the interrupts. Yes, lightning has more instant cast abilities now. That doesn't change the fact that the most threatening attack/combo is going to be the most commonly shut down. This will become increasing more evident the higher quality of opponents you face. (Read: Solo and Group Ranked)
  2. The primary strength of lightning right now is the conduction bug. As soon as that is fixed the spec will run into the same type of "lock out" problems it ran into pre-3.0. It's gotten slightly better at handling those issues but they will still be a problem. Madness will definitely outperform Lightning in PvP come 3.1.2
  3. I fully agree with your second point, nerfing Corrupted Barrier. I don't really know why it was added but it's a stupid concept all around. I fully disagree with your first point. I've been playing Sorc for a long, long time. Especially with roots as common as they are now.. Sorcs deserve the root break on sprint more than any other class in the game.
  4. Unless I'm mistaken.. isn't Harbinger still dominated by Pubs for reg queues? It's only Ranked where Pubs are absent.
  5. I can't speak to PvE. For PvP Lightning will be largely mitigated to a reg warzone spec. Madness should do perfectly fine in warzones still and should be mid-tier for Solo Ranked or Group Ranked. Corruption will still be fine in all formats.
  6. I've played against these guys a couple times. If you are a decent pub looking for a decent crew these guys seem like a good fit. Note: I don't know any of them personally BUT I'm speaking to their talent.
  7. Every PvP server in this game is Imp heavy. Most PvE servers are closely split.
  8. Childish response. You're not wrong though, some people hate for the sake of hating. Everyone desires purpose, which leads people to create enemies/rivals. I'd argue it's human nature.. the bad side of it. Plenty of people hate/dislike me or my guild for random effin reasons also. To be honest, you shouldn't take it too badly. Whether you're good or not is irrelevant. Someone considers you significantly enough to make you their enemy/rival. It's actually an indirect compliment.
  9. You're joking, right? Lightning has a history of poor pvp performance. Success was usually limited to Regs, if anything.
  10. Swtor? Lightning is only remotely viable due to the Conduction bug. As soon as that is fixed that spec is done.(Read: outclass in every role) Madness is a poor man's hatred. Just asking to get tunneled and killed. As for Healers.. Operative handles pressure better while Sorcs handle burst/hard swap better.
  11. Silly question but I'll bite. 1. Sin (Tier 1 dps and Tier 1 Tank. You could literally run 3 Sins on an Arena Team at top tier) 2. Powertech (Tier 1 dps and Tier 1 Tank. You could also literally run 3 PTs on an Arena team at top tier) 3. Operative (Tier 2 dps and Tier 1 Healer. Healer is equal with Sorc but Operative Dps is better than Sorc in Group Ranked) 4. Sorcerer (Tier 2 dps and Tier 1 Healer. Especially after the Lightning bug fix combined with nerfs) 5. Juggernaut (Tier 2 dps and Tier 2 Tank. Awesomely average.) 6. Sniper (Tier 2 dps) 7. Mercenary (Tier 2 dps and Tier 2 healer. Less viable than Jugg/Sorc, imho) 8. Marauder (Tier 3 dps. Poor bastards) My ratings are given the following priorities- 1. Group Ranked (the most competitive format) 2. Reg Warzones (the most common format) 3. Solo Ranked (Try-hard format)
  12. I play a Corruption Twi'lek Sorcerer that duos with an Immortal Twi'lek Juggernaut.

  14. So, just to be clear, because Powertechs dont have a defensive cooldown that can completely reset the fight.. they are a glass cannon class. Furthermore, since Hatred is more OP, Powertechs are fully allowed to also be OP. Listen, Powertechs aren't going to get Force Barrier, Shroud or Enraged Defense. I am fully aware that all 3 of those abilities are stupid strong in Solo Ranked and make classes difficult to focus down. However, that sure as hell doesn't make a Powertech a glass cannon. Additionally, the ability to survive focus fire in 4 dps Solo Ranked matches is hardly a final indicator of balance. I mean, if you want to survive Focus Fire.. nothing is stopping you from rolling Jugg.(A weaker class) Tbh, a lot of the defenses being put forward for AP Powertechs are fully disingenuous.
  15. Hatred Assassins and AP Powertechs are both significantly over-performing compared to all other classes in the game. How is that so hard to understand? Powertechs get all the advantages of being a melee dps WHILE also gaining the advantages of being a Ranged dps class. Combine this with excellent burst on top of strong sustained and you have a serious problem. Apparently the only weakness people seem to tout is the "weak defensives." However, those defenses are only real weak against dot classes. If Assassins are nerfed, as they should also be, and Powertechs are not.. we will just have another new overlord that far exceeds its peers.
  16. After all that analysis you didn't realize that as soon as Assassins are nerfed that Powertechs will be unchallenged?
  17. I'll simplify it for you. Classes in this game lack specific unique roles/utility/benefits. Therefore it largely all boils down to damage uptime, overall damage, burst and defensive capabilities. Not to say those didn't always matter, but in some games you might actually pickup a class with less damage because they offered some kind of utility to your group.. swtor really has no such feature. In fact, swtor has gone out of it's way to remove all such uniqueness. So, when a class/spec like AP Powertech has strong overall damage, burst, unstopped damage uptime and average/above-average defensives.. it would be overpowered.

  19. Canu did some 4s with me a while back. We wanted to do some 4s earlier this week but the team we were hoping to play wasn't able to field a team.
  20. Armor, in and of itself, is not sufficient. To deny that it is a variable towards a classes defensive capabilities would be outright lying. So.. when do you plan to stop posting? You should lead by example.
  21. Almost all of the info you provided was good.. except.. you can't really say the above as "undebatable." Especially Sapped Strength and KB Root.
  22. Hardly. It just doesn't do well for balance when 1-2 classes perform multiple roles better than other classes. To the point where bringing other classes doesn't make sense. It'd be one thing if every class had something unique/different which justified bringing them. Unfortunately classes have been so homogenized that we simply have the "better" ones and the "worse" ones. Because they fill the same roles.

  24. You guys are also choosing to ignore the amazing passive defensives that AP powertechs have. Specifically, Heavy Armor combined with the passive 30% aoe dmg reduction AND 30% dmg reduction while stunned. None of that even requires a single utility point. Powertechs are completely fine defensively. AP still needs some damage nerfs OR utility nerfs.
