  1. disable crossfire untill a driver update comes out from amd for improvments.
  2. you exist with the force and become a part of it and exist forever. the force is strong in this one!
  3. if they were helpfull suggestions for swtor then i could understand but many aren't. many are just asking for wow features to be dropped into this game for some unknown reason. which is why they say....if you want wow features go play wow.....it's not meant in any other way. complaining about the ui....wow has only opened up theirs to be changed by mods...it's not like they have a slick ui themselves. complaining about lack of an lfd tool, well a version that works for swtor would be ok but not the tool from wow sorry but that is a horrible idea for a fledgling game. generally complaining about anything wow has this game doesn't....just pointless...this really isn't world of warcraft which is something those complaining need to realise. there are many ways the above can be done that doesn't mirror or copy another games choices, those fanboys you mention are asking those others to just chill out and wait to see how bioware create and implement such things. just asking for wow to be dropped into here would be a waste of time, considering entire swathes of players in wow do not use the lfd tool because it is bloody horrible at times and while it gets you easy valor what will swtor give you as a reward to run them? and should it give you a reward? no it shouldn't there by negating any reason to have a tool for spam running insatnces. you know those are just a few reasons of many, but blizzard spent a colossal sum of money implementing an lfd tool, none of us know how many versions they went through before settling on the one they liked but there is a difference they had a game that was up for 4 years and there expansion had just come out as well as having already been working on ulduar for months prior to that as well. in any case if you really aren't happy that this game doesn't have alot of things the game you came from does then try to remember at least one thing...this is not the game you just came from...
  4. you can't be serious? so you rushed to level cap....and are surprised that few others did? i don't plan on capping a single character for months but i plan on capping 8 around the same time. perhaps you should have relaxed a bit...
  5. indeed the combat system in tera is very very nice and works, tis a shame about some other aspects of that game though.
  6. thats your choice though and you could have just ticked the box in the interface options to skip them instead of pressing space bar...but you didn't why? is it because deep down you actually wanted to see them? just because it doesn't suit you doesn't mean it was the wrong decision. when i get to end game i will be what you call an end game player, the difference being i will have enjoyed the leveling proccess and won't complain about lack of content when i get there.
  7. then care to explain why final fantsay 7 was the most successfull rpg for nearly 10 years? it was heavily story driven with at the time good gameplay but the story is what people remember they don't remember the gameplay.
  8. sorry didn't read the whole post. story is important though at least for some, wow had no story of note or worth that story was told in the rts games which was left out of the mmo thats why so many feel detached from cataclsym and will feel even more detached from mists of pandaria. for me the story is important it's what made star wars a successfull film and franchise for years, yes it is a simple story of light versus dark but simple story's with more complex sub plots are what make great games rather than great books where a complex story is better than a simple one. honestly and i say this without trying to sound like i'm offending anyone, if you don't like story driven games then really swtor is not the game to invest time into.
  9. i actually have to disagree with you, i'm 31 myself and most of the players i met in wow/aion were either around that age or older, i knew a guild on my old server that was 90% female with over 400 members as well as the guild i raided with where i was amoung the younger of members. now thats not to say there aren't younger players and alot of them so it's not like your wrong either, it's just that i got to know older players more than i did younger players, the few younger players i did get to know to any degree were just like the older players in terms of how they spoke and interacted with the game and other players. i know around 30 people where i live that all play wow and swtor and only one is under 25, maybe thats just those i've met but again they seem to be less of a minority than you seem to think.
  10. most wouldn't mind a same server lfd/lfg tool, personally i'd prefer an improvment to the current feature a big improvment but not an auto tool that groups me and sends me their. as soon as it goes cross server is where problems come, if you beleive otherwise you really are being niave or you were the bad player in wow's lfd. what players are asking for that are against this is to allow the community to get the chance to grow and succeed before it is ruined by auto spamming of flash points and not doing anything. players have been complaining about the lack of life in world of warcraft outside of towns because players never have to travel anywhere, thats not an improvment thats a disaster, wow is on a very heavy decline 3 quarters of purely negative growth is a very very bad sign and will only spiral downward, sure it may slow and eventually stop but when and where is a different point altogether. i'd like to see some sort of a feature that is more user friendly but not something that does what lfd does in wow.
  11. well he's not wrong just half right. it was created to make money please fans of star wars and kotor and smack blizzard....not in that order but you get the point. i see no reason why it can't be all of those to ea/bioware and it's fans.
  12. people hated occulus....thats why no one would group for it..i don't know why though it was a stupidly easy instance crap to do but easy. i'm not completly against a feature to aid grouping i just don't want a feature that does what lfd in wow does for this game, i don't feel it's needed here and it wasn't needed in wow either. their should be limits placed on such features and that is why lfd in wow is so bloody awfull at times. now i rarely had a bad run in there when i played my main, but then i hated using lfd so much i did look for server groups...was actually quicker for a dps as well than waiting in the que mostly. yet for all the good runs i had in lfd the bad runs were trully worthy of frapsing to post on a website for everyone to laugh at, the lfd gave people far to many freedoms they should not have had as they just abused it and other players. add one sure but do it right.
  13. hard to disagree with that, i like the whole instant thing in fps games, but i utterly loathe it from rpg games, having played all types for coming on 20 years from the first warcaft game in the early 90's and fps games of all types and many others i expect the least instant gratification from rpg's, when i get that i stop playing them.
  14. your paying for continued service and content, if you want it all now yesterday last week then your really playing the wrong genre of game. oh i never said stop playing if you don't like it, i didn't even hint at that untill my above remark. i'm sorry but i don't need a degree in game design to know that you need a working product to build on before you build on it...thats common sence....and something that is taught in more sectors than just gaming.... do you put the doors and windows on a building that is just gonna fall down? no same principle, you wait till the building works as a structure before doing anything. all bioware have done is create a product in a genre of gaming that relies heavily on patching and updating and alot of support. also and i say this assuming you didn't read it, they have stated there will be a rather large content patch this month...so patience maybe?
  15. wow set a standard for blizzard not the genre. and they themselves failed to deliver that standard over multiple expansions, they themselves even admited that. while udluar their finest raid came after a long period of a reused naxx it was still in it's own right the best raid to grace that game, thats because it had lore and quests dating back years with dungeons preceding it in classic wow like uldum...or what ever that one is in loch modan. oh and they aren't doing a raid on that scale again so what exactly is there to look forward to in wow when it's most glorious time has long since passed. wow has some great aspects that can not be denied the user interface(default or modded) and reaction of the characters is nigh on perfect. however it seriously lacks the rpg element of the genre, that has been a major thorn for many a player joining the game from other games that have done it far far better. now wow did get the mmo part right then they added cross realm lfd...and for some that caused serious problems whether you seen them or not does not mean they weren't there. like it or loathe it tera could have brought a whole new dimension to the genre with it's non target combat, i was really hoping it would have been better than it was, as a game it had the potential to truly do some good for the genre but some additional features added somewhat ruined the game for pvpers and pvers alike. gw2 will be dropping the whole trinity system so again we'll have a game coming that could either help to revolutionize the genre or find it's self stuck with a system that isn't workable for top teir gaming. wow presents nothing new even it's so called new features aren't exactly ground breaking, and mists of pandaria is offering a side game that was invented in japan in 1995 clearly not a new feature or a feature that many regard as needed or wanted...some do obviously but then we wonder what the hell they are doing spending that much time developing that instead of epic raids that are trully memorable. i don't compare swtor to wow why? swtor has rpg wow does not, it's been a long time since wow had a story worth telling or paying attention to.
  16. here's a hint into game design on this scale. get the game to work first then start adding features. features can be added at will, however should bioware wait to add such features means the game is not gonna go live. mmo's should not be compared to other games they are living breathing games that need alot of support to work. i could point out many a film that really shouldn't have been released if you like, badly edited piss poor scene continuity amoung other things, wooden actors that should have stayed in their previous jobs, cgi that would make a kid with crayola think he's awesome as he did a better job at the tender age of 4, crap scripts that should have been binned the moment they were read and burned just to be sure they never grace a cinema screen. so the game isn't fully ironed out yet some problems and some issues are still present in the game big deal the fact is it has not been tested on this scale yet and even with all the beta testing it went through bugs still slip through the cracks as now were starting to really push the games boundaries to the point of breaking. this is a new game and while your right it is not an excuse it is a valid reason to have patience, they can't release bug fixes for a shoddy film they can release bug fixes for a game that is the core difference you forgot. and it's not being batted about as if to say it's an excuse, if you are so skilled that you can debug this games code for every viable computer build and make it bug free and i mean completly bug free then apply for a job with bioware and stop assuming it's an easy thing to do.
  17. all true, however he is right, players need to have more patience with bioware. they have a huge content and probably bug fix patch coming in january and people are like ''i want it now'' smashing there forks off the table and throwing tantrums. sure if you read my post history i state that i cancelled my account but thats because i'm worried about all the stuff the players keep asking for, so many threads for things wow has....if i wanted to play wow i would still be playing it, what i want is the same features but for THIS game not the same features with the same options.
  18. server only can't drop in and out at will, perhaps some cooldown after leaving, we all know the types that drop out and just find another group to annoy....just a thought peeps not actually asking for it. with that i'd be ok i'm no fan of lfd or their kind but i see no reason to thwart a version that is actually workable and suits THIS game i really couldn't care what xx game has or had this should be about how to make it work for Star Wars the Old Republic.
  19. absolutly correct, it takes ages to understand an accent your not familiar with and sometimes we never grasp it, i for the most part understand people from many different places but i still struggle with those from glasgow some of the slang used i just don't understand and thats only 35 miles away. when a scot starts ranting on even the person they know best sits back and wonders what the hell they are on about sometimes.
  20. hi ray park has a dojo in stirling, scotland, don't know where he's from originally though. he might not have the most intense voice going but by god he's not someone i'd piss off.
  21. auction listing time...is fine....are other games offering much more? mailing to opposite faction....again are other games doing this? no lfd....oh my god the sky is falling run for it....seriously now. some really silly reasons right there. me i cancelled for different reasons and may well change my mind if enough players with your deluded ideas leave before the end of the 30 day period.
  22. i agree but none of the games come out with those features either, they are added in after, which is ok too. windows 7 is by far microsofts best work, arguably and quite rightly the best os on the market, some like it some don't. honestly it's working as intended, i'm not a fan of apples os never have been while it looked pretty frankly that wasn't enough it lacked compatability and still does, linux is free and by golly it is good to use if you know your way around the command structure but if your new to linux it is painfull to use....just my opinion on that though... were looking at a game which could have a 10 year life cycle and were asking for everything yesterday, if we give bioware enough freedom to just do it their way by that i mean the features then we could get features we need that work well with the game we have without making them the same as every other game on the market as well. essentially all most here want is a little patiance and to allow the game to evolve down it's own path rather than the path laid down by other games, it's great that blizzard changed the face of mmo games for them but that may not be the route that is best for the industry as a whole, when you break down mmorpg to it's elements blizzard fall short on rpg by a collosal margin it's not small by any stretch but they did work the mmo aspect well, some and even myself think blizzard actually ruined the mmo aspect of their own game with lfd, while it did expand the mmo from one side it hindered another side the more social of sides of the genre. lfd is great in concept and essentially in practice untill you add butt hurt players to the mix that think they deserve everything and the game revolves around them, which is when it all starts to go south, for me i had a relativly easy time using lfd in wow but there was on occasion groups i just had leave not for the abuse they gave me as i usually just sat quietly by and did my job but the abuse they often gave each other, i found it disgusting that the level of annonymity they had and lack of repercusion for their actions meant they could do what ever they wanted to whoever they felt like, once they learned they could do that they didn't stop. but that alludes to the thinking that all groups will turn that way, they don't i had far more good experiences than bad, but the bad ones were bad enough for me to not use lfd very often i wen't months without going near it or thinking about, so it did not do what it was meant to but at the same time for others did as well, it has positives and negatives.
  23. software can be updated....cars have to be remade...thats a freaking massive difference. take a lexus is200 built in 2000, to this day there are still cars being made that don't even features some of what it had as standard never mind as optional extras, and that my friend using your logic means the car industry has failed miserably as they have not taken what has been done and implemented it into new cars. i've just taken your comparsion of the car industry and ripped it asunder all because of 1 car. now take cars like the bmw 3 series e36 first released in 1993, it had the most balanced chassis of any car in existance only ever beaten by the honda nsx for sheer balance, now both are out of production and what has the car industry learned from this? nothing they still make cars that don't even come close to being as well balanced as either of those. bioware can and will update this game, they don't have to release a new game to do those updates. when they come you will be happy no doubt but give them time, and we don't want all of wow's features, they worked in wow but may not work in this game...perhaps the same reason they don't add every car feature that worked to every new car? just think about it.
  24. haha, it's true. while i put down british on forms when i served in the army, i was by all intents a dual national there, british and scottish, i would tick both boxes. try pissing off a scot and see what happens, tis funny our voice becomes incredibly evil sounding and rather aggresive in a very short space of time, while friendly we may be were a rather *****ly bunch too. the regional differences are so vast in britain that even people from say newcastle can't understand those very well from liverpool, use of slang between each area would screw your mind over as you tried to fathom what the hell they were saying. Alan rickman is a good example, well spoken but a good script and he can have alot of fun sounding very sinister, Ewan Mcgregor (nearly a neighbour to me lived about 10 miles away his parents still do) has a very similar accent to my own a very soft scottish accent missing alot of the harsher tone you will find here in some places. yet even where i live there are quite vast differences in how people speak, most are well spoken with a soft accent yet there are places where a far harsher accent is common place. the accents in the game are fine, i have no objection to the American accents or the British accents used, they do seem somewhat soft at times i do conceed that point and perhaps could have done with some aggresive flare at points but by and large they do the job.
  25. yup it really is, i even considered myself at one point in that bracket...never expected a damn thing other than to play the game the best i could...a role model...oh hell no.
