  1. Great post NJoyTheSilence. I agree, people should focus on good tactics in PvP. If you are truly good at knowing how to PvP, then this game is more than balanced. A good PvPer can roll any class and still be good in this game. Frankly, I think that speaks volumes as to how good this game really is (ability lag aside )
  2. True Perhaps people don't realize that sage/sorc are very easy to counter, even easier when they are focusing on slowing someone down. Just start attacking them, either they will sit there and die very quickly, or you will put them in a defensive posture and they will force speed away. In both scenarios the sage/sorc are unable to continue slowing anyone down, or even deal any significant amount of damage. Never let a sage/sorc stand there beating you up un-harassed. Easy.
  3. Force lightning is also a 3sec channel. Meaning that that damage is broken up over 3sec (or 2 GCDs) and you cant do anything else while channeling. Essentially the player has to take them selves out of commission for 3sec and stand in one place just to apply a 50% speed reduction, the damage is negligible against any level 50 PvP geared opponent. I really dont understand why people think this is OP, seems like a fair trade off.
  4. FYI sorc/sage does not have the same damage output. In fact Sage/sorc has a very low damage output, its just consistant. There is NO burst damage what-so-ever, its all dots. Dots that dont hit for much. Project is one of the hardest hitting attacks and hits for 1k-2k and has a cool down. Its not easy to whittle someone down from 15k health with nothing but small dots and the occasional medium damage proc. That is the reason BW gave them so many slows. Its the only way to survive, and you still dont survive long. What level is your sorc? You must be a GREAT mmo player if you really think "its retarded how easy it is". Either that or I would guess you dont actually have much experiance playing that sorc. What is you sorcs valor level?
  5. If you go 1v1 with a sorc/sage and they pop a bubble and start healing, your in luck! all you need to do is keep attacking them. By the time they get there 3sec heal cast off, you should have easily burned down the shield and rendered the heal that is about to go off completely useless. It is a terrible strat for a sage/sorc to pop bubble and start healing, total waste. I can understand that at level 30 it would be harder to burn down the bubble, but it can be done. At level 50 you will kill ANY sage/sorc that tries to do that tho, because the shield only absorbs one good attack. Only a TERRIBLE sage/sorc would stand in an open fight spamming heals (unless they are a healer spec) I hope people realize that for a DPS spec sage/sorc the only viable heal is a 3sec cast, and it only hits for 3k when it crits.
  6. Please explain more. IMO: Tracer missile - I have never found it to be difficult to LoS TM spam when I am paying attention. Snare on Force Lightning/Pebble Throw - They have to stop doing everything to channel this, and it does VERY little damage. It doesn't seem to unfair that they have to stop doing everything to channel what is essentially a 50% speed debuff. What was the problem you were having?
  7. I like this idea. Actually, I support any idea that would give us more in-game info on stats
  8. Follow the post sir. This was in response to a claim that a sage/sorc could just stand around healing themselves (somehow immune to interrupts) while getting DPSed. I can see your point about running away and healing being a survivability technique, but it really just resets the fight. Anyone with half a brain would use that time to heal themselves/regen before reengaging the sorc/sage. Its not survivability the in the same way that, Medium/heavy armor is or a damage reduction cool down is(or multiple dmg reduction CDs stacked are) or a damage reducing debuff is or gauard is. Resetting a fight so that everyone involved can get topped off is not that powerful.
  9. Heals?!?! what are you talking about, the 3sec cats thats heals for about 2k? or the 2.5 sec cast that heals for 1.5k? if you cant DPS through those crappy heals, then L2P. Any DPS spec sorc/sage that tries to heal/tank through any DPS will die before the first heal is cast. Seriously, roll a sage/sorc and try it you will die every time. If you have ever witnessed a sorc/sage surviving any amount of DPS focus, then they had a pocket healer AND guard on them. THERE IS NO SURVIVABILITY FOR SORC/SAGE (and for the record LoSing and running away when necessary don't count as survivability. Thats just good strategy)
  10. You must not have played this class very much. There is no way you could stand in one spot, take melee damage, bubble, nuke people down AND heal through it! that's just crazy! once we are caught we die in about 1-2 GCD. How much damage does the bubble absorb? i dont know exactly but it cant be more than 3k damage, it can absorb ONE big attack at best. Sorcs/sages are easy to counter, use a stun or a silence and we go down quick, and if you cant DPS through are weak shield... gear up.
  11. Balance not good in PvP..... wow you must not have played much balance, or maybe you just never got very skilled at it. imo balance is the single greatest PvP tree in the whole game, BW shouldnt even touch it!
  12. I play Sage and there is nothing OP about sages or sorcs. 1) the bubble can only mitigate maybe one high damage attack before it pops. 2) The healing sucks, 3 second cast on a heal that hits for 1500 (2500 on a good crit) 3) As soon as the other team notices you, and starts to focus you (which they should do), you have about 2 GCDs to live 4) Only one skill tree has an ability that slows and does damage at the same time and it does not do much damage (tiny little DOT) Bottom line is that they are a difficult class to play. Some people are great at playing it, just like every other class in the game.
  13. @OP, Thanks for the thread! I noticed this problem but i could never put my finger on it. I like this game about a million times more than WOW, but SWTOR has felt "clunky" sense the beginning. The ability delay is obvious when mounting. Its less obvious in solo combat, but its noticeable. PvP is painful, this ability delay has impacted just about every Warzone I have played in some way. It has not made Warzones "unplayable" but I cannot even comprehend how one would pull off competitive PvP gameplay as of right now. I know that the devs mentioned some sort of ranking system for PvP (which I am eagerly awaiting ) but ranking seems pointless until they ability delay is dealt with. I know plenty of avid PvP players are concerned about ability delay, and they should be! Thanks again for the constructive OP!
  14. This game does rock. It most certainly has some balance issues, but for a game that is only a month out the gate it is damn good. The last patch was a little hectic but the PvP bracketing was a great idea. I am looking forward to playing this game for a long time:) Thanks BW
  15. I fully support this. I use to be a healer, but lack of mouse-over macro killed it for me, as response time is critical for those awesome last second healing saves. Those were the best moments for me as a healer, throwing up a shield on someone with less than 100HP followed by a big heal or two. With lack of macro support (and horrible fps/lag issues) all of those saving moments in PvP have turned into moments of clumsy targeting followed by choppy graphics and by the time you think you have it figured out, you and the person you were trying to save are dead. I want to heal again. Please support Mouse-over macros and focus macros!
  16. I agree, targeting when healing is a pain. Targeting in general is not that great, but when it comes to healing the last thing I want to do is spend all my time just trying to target properly.
