  1. Makes you wonder what they're doing on the ship when you're not there...
  2. So Maul is coming back because he's a vampire.
  3. I interpreted that quest as: He wants to turn the Republic over to the Sith He's not going to directly say, "Hey, let's join the Sith!", because that will fail Instead, he's going to put forth a series of actions that he hopes will subvert the Republic until it is forced or tricked into joining the Sith The document details his true plans about his upcoming proposals. The LS option is the Lawful Neutral action - you really don't have any right taking his docs without a warrant. The DS option is the Neutral Good action - you're breaking to the law, but exposing an evil plot.
  4. Except in that situation you can probably wait for HT to refresh and use that for a net force gain.
  5. How often do you find yourself spamming that one big heal? That's the only situation in which alacrity is any real benefit. One you start mixing in your other heals, the value of alacrity drops off significantly, especially in any encounter that stresses resource management over throughput.
  6. Players stack surge because all the gear available to us stacks surge. We can choose between crit/surge power/surge We're stuck with surge either way. In addition, surge is always the primary stat. We don't have a choice between high crit with some surge or high surge with some crit. We can choose high surge with some crit: http://www.torhead.com/item/35Kx22D/advanced-assault-enhancement-22 or high surge with some crit: http://www.torhead.com/item/aif9Yj2/advanced-battle-enhancement-22 So surge was nerfed, and I am now way over the effective soft cap. But I will not be changing any of my gear because there is nothing to change to. If BW doesn't want players stacking surge, they need to tell their itemization department.
  7. You still have to activate Noble Sacrifice. Resplendence is a 10-second buff that will make the next cast of NS have no ill effects.
  8. This mostly affects ACs that have lower resource pools and high regens (like shadow or IA). This wouldn't be an issue for the Jedi Knight, as they would be able to build their resources faster. However, they can't because of another huge issue with Alacrity: It only affects some abilities. Alacrity doesn't affect HoTs/DoTs or the GCD. For some specs, this is the majority of their abilities. In order to fix this, Alacrity would need to speed up ticks and would need to lower the GCD. Then there's the issue of movement fights where abilities tend to be binary. You cast, then move; you don't have a real opportunity to chain. Alacrity is worthless if you are not chaining.
  9. The simple fix would be to make techblades gunswords and just have a barrel slot instead of a hilt.
  10. What rank gifts are you using? As your affection level goes up, the lower rank gifts stop working. At 6500, only rank 4 & 5 gifts will take you further. No more cute love letters; she wants diamonds.
  11. Yeah, he would be a much better comp than Theran. The reason for him joining you is much more solid. Whereas Theran joins you because he's bored, and he hates practically everything you do. It's also the perfect opportunity to have a sage archetype companion (there are currently no sage/sorc companions). I also would have preferred Hollow Voice over Qyzen. All our best characters come at the end. The first three companions are blech.
  12. Just do all your quests. There will be a lot more added before the level cap goes up. In addition, the daily quests give just as much xp, so if you're really set on getting a small headstart when the cap is raised, you can do so with the dailies.
  13. Surge caps at 30% now and it grows much slower. For low levels of gear, it's about a 10% nerf up to a 35% nerf at the top tier. Graphical comparison: http://sithwarrior.com/forums/attachment.php?aid=204 Nerf Discussion starts at post #307: http://sithwarrior.com/forums/Thread-SWTOR-formula-list?page=32
  14. There are a grand total of zero modable techblades in the game.
  15. No Legendary items in the game yet.
  16. They are changing it, but it requires them to add additional coding that slot-locks removed mods.
  17. Because the top level armoring is sold by the daily commendation vendor.
  18. I'm seer and run with Nadia the vast majority of the time, pulling out Iresso to do heroics. Her damage is just too good to pass up. Unless you quested with a Smuggler mindset, it wouldn't have helped. Otherwise, you'll likely lose more affection than you gain. Help a girl: gain affection Help anyone else: lose affection Demand money: gain affection Offer help: lose affection Use diplomacy: lose affection Tell everyone to go **** themselves: gain affection When I was testing his affection gains, there was quests were he literally gave negative affection on every choice. There are multiple threads here asking why he sticks around when he hates everything you do.
  19. Remember when role hyper-specialization meant 12 clerics spamming one heal for 40 minutes straight?
  20. Make sure he is in tank stance. The fix to keep companion abilities from turning themselves back on introduced a new bug that continuously turns stances off.
  21. How do you summon your companion in Huttball?
  22. Meanwhile, Theran seems to hate everything you do. When testing affection gains on dailies, there are some where he literally gives negative affection for EVERY choice.
  23. As a Light side Sage, I have received nothing but Dark side relics.
  24. In terms of maximizing rotations, bug testing, etc, a Recount-type combat log is great. Just include a squelching function that prevents someone from spamming it after every fight, or even make it so that only the ops leader can post it to chat.
