  1. Devs, Would it be possible to add a button on the Character Pane (or under Customize Appearance) that would export our currently equipped gear (and mods) to an XML (or JSON) file in our Documents folder (much like Screenshots and Combat Logs)? If so, we would greatly appreciate it. This would allow us to keep track of our gear without having to be in the game.
  2. I didn't see it either, and I was online for the entire hour leading up to the time when the server went down. Seemed more like a crash, but if it's scheduled, I feel better knowing that.
  3. So by your logic, after you are done using the bathroom, you don't wipe your backside because you don't care about impressing anyone. You know how to wipe your backside and you are an intelligent person, but you decide not to because you're too lazy and could care less about what other people think of you. Excellent point! </sarcasm> Think of proper grammar as verbal hygiene. And we all know how people with poor hygiene get treated...
  4. By the way, I think a lot of people are missing the point. It's not the fact that people type 'lol' or 'rofl' or "LFG HM Esseles." These are accepted internet/gaming short-hands. It's when you are carrying on a conversation that does not require the use of these short-hands that people's lack of elementary grammar is apparent. Sample Conversation: I rest my case.
  5. Bad idea posting this on SW:TOR forums. At this rate, you may as well post on 4chan or Reddit. -- LOL I wish more people would do that. Oh, so you're a college student? Please share with us your infinite life wisdom. --Willy Wonka A.K.A.: Lame Excuse #1 -- In Elementary school, a student learns how to spell basic words and know the difference between your and you're, there, there, their and they're, to, too, and two. A.K.A.: Lame Excuse #2 -- I've owned a computer ever since I was 3 years old, back in 1987. I have always had access to the highest degree of technology in my neighborhood. I don't produce any literary marvels, but anything I do write I still try to use the best grammar I can. When I write anything on my computer, I see that dreaded red squiggly underline, and I check and recheck that word. That red squiggly line appears once or twice per document I produce, because I will admit, nobody is perfect. Spell-check is supposed to be an aid, not a crutch. Reasonable Excuse #1 -- I can get behind this statement; however, I can say that generally a lot of people who learned ESL in a foreign country tend to speak it and write it with more correctness than the typical American. A.K.A.: Lame Excuse #3 -- I am 28 years old, never went to college, and have better grammar than most that have. In the words of Charlie Sheen, "BOOM! WINNING!" Grammar Error: Their -- Shows possession, as opposed to there -- a place. That's a 50 DKP minus. Fail: Failing at grammar in a post about improper grammar. (x2) for a total of a 100 DKP minus. Reasonable [unreasonable] Excuse #2 -- This claim gets made all the time, and it's a crap-shoot. My personal belief is that no matter which medium you choose, whether it be a speech, letter, internet post, or even a casual conversation, you are judged based on your diction. If you talk like an idiot, my first impression of you is that you're an idiot (please note the use of the contraction "you're" based on the words "you" and "are," for those of you who are unfamiliar) and you lack a decent high-school education. I know people who grew up in the back-woods of Tennessee and North Carolina (states known for their piss poor education), people who dropped out of high-school, and still have better grammar than most people who have obtained their high-school diploma. Besides the English as a Second Language (ESL) excuse, I really don't see any other for tlaking liek a noob cuz ur n idipt! This is America, and you have the right to be an idiot. I also have the right to treat you like one. And as always, have nice day. --FPS Russia PS: An interesting YouTube from SourceFED on the "Autocorrect Generation"
  6. I am signing this petition. I would spend either $25.00 or 5,000,000 credits to change my Legacy name. This has a lot of potential, BioWare... I suggest you strongly consider adding this feature.
  7. If you want this, hit up your local cantina. If you want a lot of this, go to the clubs in Nar Shaddaa. Problem solved.
  8. Give the WoW players and Rift players time to come to the realization that their MMO sucks and then they switch over to SW:TOR. Population is continuing to rise. SW:TOR is here to stay.
  9. I won't renew my subscription unless BioWare releases panda-jedi and panda-sith. /sarcasm I quit Rift after they nerfed the end-game content to the point where I would faceroll my tank through it all. If guilds are "stilling banging their heads against bosses" as you said, which I am pretty sure is not English, then they just suck at MMOs and they should quit Rift and start playing Farmville. Seriously. PS: On my server, most guilds have not downed all 10 bosses on Nightmare difficulty. Hell, on my server, most guilds haven't downed all 10 bosses on hard mode. Unless you're sitting in full T3 PVE and PVP gear, with multiple L50s, you haven't experienced everything that the game has to offer.
  10. Will you be implementing a SW:TOR Armory of sorts? A web site which allows us to view characters' gear outside of the game. If so, can we get a status on how far in development it is? Will it include API for other web sites to be able to query data from it? Thanks.
  11. Nope, they sure don't. Also, barrels/hilts/armoring do not drop from what I've seen. As far as recipes go, I am not sure if Artifice/Armstech recipes drop for #25 mods. Reason I am not sure is, I imagine that recipes drop for Crew Skills of people in the raid. This may or may not be the case, but I am pretty sure all the people I've raided with are either Cybertech, Biochem, Armormech, or Synthweaver, so I have yet to see any Artifice or Armstech recipes drop. #25 Mods and Enhancements drop in raids and are BoE, but I haven't seen anything else.
  12. Aim stat is virtually useless to a companion that uses Cunning stat and is a healer. I have checked this out first hand. Aim may add to tech power, but does virtually nothing in the way of bonus healing. Do you have any Advanced Skill Barrel 25's available for sale? Because afaik, they cannot be crafted and they do not drop from bosses in any existing operation on any difficulty. Obviously BoP means my companions and I, that's not the issue. The issue is blaster pistols with cunning are not available to Imperials, period. (Unless it's a quest reward with the companion's name on it). And I have two companions that use pistols with cunning. It would seem that way. Usually, most game-programmers would use already existing classes and inherit them for these purposes and then alter them accordingly, which is why I thought it was strange that Quinn looks like an operative, talks like an operative, fights like an operative, but isn't an operative. Hopefully they will unlock the base mods soon. Broonmark is sitting in Full T2/T3, Quinn is getting close to full T1/T2, and LT Pierce is sitting in T1/T2 as well. One of our core raiding snipers is full T3, so I get a chance to win T3 Imp Agent gear, and our bounty hunters are close to full T3, so I get a chance to win T3 BH gear. Only thing that's going to be rough is the weapons...
  13. TL;DR: Lol Verbose: If anything, a "Flashpoint finder" makes less sense on SWTOR than any other game before it. Take WoW and Rift for example. Every dungeon is spread out around the world, and some in enemy territory and do not have easy access. In SWTOR, 90% of the flashpoints available are all located in Imperial Fleet / Republic equivalent. The only two that don't reside in IF are False Emperor and Battle of Ilum. General chat and LFG comments work just fine for finding groups. The future introduction of dual-spec will make grouping even easier because people will be able to fill dual roles easier than paying over 100k for a respec. I play on a light server, and we still have plenty of people for groups. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them are noobs and/or idiots, but occasionally we'll run into a good player who needs a good guild, and we recruit them, then we run groups in-house because we know we don't suck. And if we spend more than 5 minutes looking for a fourth player for a flashpoint, we just give up and summon a companion then roll through the instance anyways.
  14. Expand your Companion's ability bar and turn off AOE when you are going to use CC. And you can level up to 50 questing solo without the use of a companion (except for storyline quests that require a certain one). Quite easily. So I wouldn't say we're dependent on companions; they just add more to the game. I find them quite fun and enjoyable. They are also amazing in world PVP
