  1. "Prioritization" is a matter of "what can I get today?" vs "what can I get tomorrow?" In one week of dailies you can get: 3 epic hilts/barrels 7 +power color crystals 20 epic armoring patches 7 epic enhancements 7 epic mods 7 blue enhancements 7 blue mods For most slots, gearing yourself and a couple companions can be done VERY quickly. The only slots that take any saving up are ears and implants. Will people still buy enhancements? Are they really going to pay 75k for one (it costs me 50k+ worth of missions to get the gems), when they can get it with one daily? Maybe 6 months from now when someone has 1 billion credits on their main and they want to gear up an alt for raiding without doing dailies. Right now, at 50, Artifice provides offhands and vanity crystals.
  2. Treasure Hunting gives you the gems needed to craft blue and purple Artifice schematics. It also provides yellow and orange color crystals.
  3. The only thing stopping me from switching to biochem is that I know as soon as I hit 400, Bioware will slice its power in half. I'm going on vacation for a couple weeks and will see where things sit when I return. If there aren't any major changes announced/discussed, then I will be picking it up.
  4. You can also tell by the cost of the mission. The higher the cost, the higher the chance of rewards.
  5. Within hours of hitting 50, one run through the quests will net you: A hilt better than artifice can create A color crystal better than artifice can create An enhancement equal to the best artifice can create Also a mod equal to the best crafting can create And 4 armoring patches better than crafting can create A mod and enhancement one step below the best crafting can create. After a week, you and two companions will be sporting items equal to or better than anything that can be crafted. The market for crafting is only those people who are still leveling (which is itself greatly diminished by the other commendation vendors). Once the majority of players are 50, crafting will be obsolete. You can get a +power color crystal from one of the dailies.
  6. Zabrak have facial tattoos that symbolize bloodline, place of birth, etc.
  7. Kits are all over the place. Some planets have specific companion customization vendors (check the vendor hubs at the starting area for each planet) and there are also some on the CE and authenticator vendors. The ones I have seen have ranged in price from 12k-35k. They change skin color, hair style, tatoos, etc. You can preview them by Ctrl clicking.
  8. Your class storyline should always be leading you to the next planet with quests appropriate for your level. There's more than enough quests to hit 50 without doing any grinds, FP or PVP. If, somehow, you skipped enough quests that you've finished Corellia at 49, the dailies on Ilum and Belsavis should top you off.
  9. Yeah, I think the hair-down option for Zabrak looks better than Humans. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/mltsandwich/SWtoR/Screenshot_2011-12-23_00_21_33_587410.jpg
  10. Ilum and the daily area of Belsavis have a mix of Grade 5 & 6, randomly spawning from the same nodes. I would guesstimate that the nodes spawn Grade 6 about 25% of the time.
  11. The reason they couldn't do that was they didn't want PvP gear to allow you to leapfrog PvE progression. When Naxx came out, in order to be successful, you still needed to complete the earlier tiers. In addition, they didn't want someone who did raiding + PvP to progress in raiding faster than someone who did raiding only. That's the purpose of a PVP-only stat; it prevents PvP gear from affecting PvE progression. Expertise is not the problem. If you removed expertise, there would still be a gear gap between vets and fresh 50s.
  12. What makes it worse is, at 50, the commendation vendors have stuff that is better than what you can craft. It should be tiered like this: Crafted gear with raid mats Raid drops/token gear Crafted gear with FP mats FP drops/token gear Crafted gear with standard mats Quest gear/general random drops As it is now, 45 mins of dailies will get me a better hilt than anything you can make with Biometric Alloys.
  13. A & B are true. C is mostly false; it is true only for a top tier raider who decides to dabble in PvP. The fresh 50 who is wearing PvE Newb Chest +60 Endurance +60 Aim +15 Crit +5 Surge +5 PvE Expertise will still get destroyed by all the top tiered PvPers and raiders. There's still a gear gap for truly newer players. If you want fresh 50s to be on equal footing then you really only have two options: Brackets based on gear - which will increase queue times Stats independent of gear in PvP - which removes replay incentive for a lot of players in a gear-centric game. There really is no magic bullet. There will be problems no matter which way you go.
  14. Yeah, some of the suggestions in the threads have been to change Project into a saber toss. One of the suggestions for TK Throw was channeling the Force to animate your saber and strike at the enemy. Both of these suggestion would get the saber more involved and get rid of the endless supply of rocks that magically appear from the ship decks.
  15. They should just make race a slider on the character creation screen since the other races are just human models with appendages/face paint added on.
  16. Yeah, right now it's set to always attack strongest first, which is the opposite of what it should be.
  17. The first tier of TK becomes vital by your 20s. I waited until I had Resplendence before putting points into TK Defense. I wanted to have a larger toolset before buffing up existing abilities.
  18. That's why I prefer to have mount speed be based entirely on skill level and be disconnected from the mount itself.
  19. If you're so inclined, you can mod out a slave outfit for her...
  20. Yeah, at level 18, spamming one heal is mostly all you do. You won't have Rejuv, Healing Trance or Salvation yet. Benevolence is rarely used and Force Armor is on cooldown (but should be used whenever it refreshes). That leaves Deliverance as 90+% of your casting. It seems they really wanted to ease people into the complexity of healing, but the resultant lack of healing diversity at low levels might scare people off. It does get better, though.
  21. There's also very little market for that. Right now there are only a few level 50s and many of them are self-sufficient (are more likely to be GTM sellers than GTM buyers). Level 10-30 stuff sells very well. Try again in a month.
  22. Ragefire! Another thing I would never expect to see in WoW or TOR is: in a PUG, there would be a master looter who would loot everything, sell it all to a vendor at the end of the run, then split the money equally amongst the group, and you could trust the other players to be honest. Reputation mattered. Most guilds were self-policing too; if someone in your guild was an ***, it could get your entire guild blacklisted. As for the main topic, we do need an LFG tool at the least, that lists level, role, and desired grouping location. An LFD tool is nice in a lot of ways. Some will say it causes people to sit in cities waiting for a group, but you're just sitting in the city if you have to spam the chat channels. At least you have the option to go do other stuff while waiting in the queue. Increased ******tery bred by anonymity is a very real problem, though. So if an LFD tool is added it needs to be server-bound or come with a rating system.
  23. In a similar thread I suggested using a heal as a workaround for the lack of /roll. e.g. I have a heal that heals between 949-1058. I tell eligible people to whisper a number in that range (use whisper to prevent the Price is Right strategy of previous guess+1). RaidMember1 picks 952 RaidMember2 picks 1000 RaidMember3 picks 1040 I then cast heal on another player. We both verify that it heals for 988 (lack of combat log means not everyone can see it ). RaidMember2 is closest and wins the item. Reduces the chance of the raid leader lying about the closest number.
  24. I first had this problem on Taris where they had an admitted memory leak. I have since experienced it on other planets and wonder if it's a similar issue. I have discovered, though, that if I alt-Tab out of the game, then go back into it, the graphics reload and the lag is gone.
  25. Biochem is medpacs (less useful if you can heal), stims, adrenals (short duration super-stims), and implants. Synthweaving is basically tailoring. The big part of it will come when you discover schematics. Bioware has said that every green/blue item will have an orange schematic available to crafters. (i.e. If you like the graphic of that quest item you got at level 7, there should be a schematic for an orange item with the same graphic that you can mod). Artifice allows you to make lightsabers, mods (hilt, enhancement, crystal), relics, and foci/shields. Cybertech allows you to make mods (armoring, mod), droid armor, ship parts, relays and gadgets. Armormech and Armstech are not useful for Consulars.
