I think people are being incredibly fickle. There's always this myth with MMORPG's that they should have "never-ending content for hardcore players like myself!!", yet name one MMORPG that had more end-game content than SWTOR did at launch.

I think the funniest part about that is when he says that even when the task was a great successes and he comes back with epic materials.

In the same exact boat mate. I'm on one of the most highly populated servers and I still have an absolute torrid time trying to find an HM group. I log in to try to at least form a group but I end up just not being arsed in the slightest. I'm only playing this game to level an alt but even that is kind of tiresome.

LDF tools don't "destroy" the community, that's a huge exaggeration. Though I won't lie in saying that I've added quite a few new people to my friends list becauase we run FP's often together. Yet, this game needs an X-server tool. I got an idea for this. If you're still wanting to make friends with an x-server LFG tool, you can easily spam fleet general and say something along the lines of "I'm gonna queue for x dungeon, anyone want to join?", and BW should throw in incentives like a bonus 5% XP gain for each individual group member that you invited from your own server, or if you're level 50, a credit, or extra Tionese crystal bonus per boss. That way, you will still favor picking people from your own server to find a group for an FP, and eliminate the problem of the never-ending quest of finding a tank or healer. I enjoy making friends and building communities, yet I feel like I've missed a WHOLE bunch of content (Mandalorian Raiders, Cademimu, CWG, Red Reaper, etc.) Because I could never find groups for them.

Finally my somewhat low-level DPS alt might have a chance at getting a group to do a FP. I feel like I missed a bunch of content because I could never find FP groups while I was leveling, despite being actively social.

Right, so I guess I'll just mod out the Accuracy with a Crit / Surge mod? Is that we we're doing, fellow 'slingers?

I just got geared enough to begin running HM's since last weekend, and since then I've gotten the token for the Columi gloves and headpiece. I unknowingly bought the Scoundrel gloves because, well, it had better stats. I didn't need so much accuracy on the Gunslinger gloves, I'm already at 100% accuracy anyway. Now when I look at the majority of the Gunslinger gear, it's loaded with Accuracy, and it's a downgrade from my lesser item level gear. Am I missing something? Why is this?

Enrage timers are definitely not fine. You know it's bad when you have to start asking the healers to DPS, and HM Esseles is harder than normal EV. I'm not saying get rid of Enrage timers at all. But not only is it a lazy design, it's incredibly flawed in it's current state.

Sorry for putting on my rose-tinted specs.. but every former SWG player needs to look at this: Even though it's merely 20~ seconds long, small clips similar to them were constantly played throughout the game. It did SUCH an amazing job to immerse you, and give you that odd "warm" feeling of the atmosphere. It just swayed your mind. SWTOR would be such an amazing game if it did the same thing.

There certainly is a lot of half-arsed replies in this thread. The OP never said that we should remove enrage timers and that's that. There needs to be more of a challenge, because as it stands most fights are easy as hell to figure out in terms of strategy, but yet you have this ridiculous enrage timer to factor in which just reeks of laziness. The stupid enrage timers are the reason I have cancelled my sub. They're way too insanely harsh. And before you say "lol u ned 2 play betar and get good geer", I have my class rotation down to a T after reading and studying multiple guides, and have the best possible gear I can get without running HM's (full orange gear with lvl 50-51 epic mods), and yet I just CAN'T progress because PuG's keep wiping on these ridiculous enrages. I've attempted to run at least 6-7 HM instances and we ALWAYS wipe on the 1st or 2nd bosses. I can't go with my guild either because most haven't even hit 50, and i loathe PvP. So I'm pretty much stuck in a deadlock. The OP was right in saying that it spawns rampant elitism that already made me die on the inside during the WoW days. I've already been turned down because all of the stupid gearchecks and my "gear was lacking" even though I can't get any better gear without running HM's - so how the hell am I supposed to get said gear? Mind you, I WANT the game to be challenging, but not so much so that the game is practically cheating.

The only add-ons I'd love are customization and cosmetic UI changes. If there ever comes a day in SWTOR when I'm forced to clutter my screen with a bunch of meters just so I can PvE, a part of me will die on the inside.

Agree with most of what you said. Especially on the enrage timers - they're ridiculously harsh atm.

I think the notion that an LFD tool "destroys" communities is utter nonsense. WoW's "bad community" ship sailed long before the LFD tool was even implemented. And even then, there was more ******tery and ninja looting before then. If you wish on being social in the hopes of meeting new people or friends on your server, what I generally did was say in General chat "I'm going to queue up for x dungeon, anyone want to join?" and if we needed a tank, healer, or what have you - we'd just queue up and bam. To be honest, I think an LFD tool is a no-brainer. Sitting 30 minutes in the Fleet spamming in hopes a tank will walk by is not fun or engaging. And no, LFD tools do NOT destroy communities. You still have guilds, you still can ask in general if anyone wants to run with you, but just because you get one or two people in your group that are from another server does not automatically press the nuclear missile button on your servers community.

Is there a gear requirement for Heroic Modes? I'm a fresh 50 and just started doing dailies. Most of my gear item level is in the 106 - 112 range. Should I just wait until I do a bunch of dailies, get the Rakata earpices / implants and so on before doing HM's?

SWTOR needs more music and atmospheric sounds in general. Sometimes it is too quiet.

Seriously? BW came out and deployed 3 "emergency" patches over the past few days and have done well to update the community with what is going on. And people still say "b-b-but they should have livestreams!! They aren't doing enough!"

now i don't consider myself so much of a fanboy, but... Been smooth as butter and my 60+ member guild has never experienced any Agree My performance has been perfect, and my computer isn't exactly top of the line. What a bold statement considering nearly every single video game ever uses the exact same system. Never had a problem with it. Never needed to contact them so can't say. Never had a problem with it. In MMO's engines and graphics don't really bother me.

One small problem on Ilum, then.. OMG THIS GAME SUCKS OMG EVERYONE WILL UNSUBSCRIBE DOOM AND GLOOM THIS GAME IS COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE. THE WORLD IS GOING UPSIDE DOWN MARK WAHLBERG IS A GOOD ACTOR.

Yeah, this is why I hate hardcores. They think they're something special. Just because they have more time to spend in a video game is somehow worthy of being "looked up to". When in contrast, the first thing I'd say is "get a life". Jeez.

To be fair, I like space combat. And it leaves a LOT to be added and improved on. ie future patches or expansions.

Are people quick to forget that they are continually increasing the server cap in response to long queue times, hence the reason you don't see servers with "full" capacity as often as you did before?

This is odd considering their staunch stance on creating a community among the servers. The server forums are one of the best ways to create such a community. But meh...
