  1. You do have a point But i don't think(or at least i hope not) that would be the case. Ilum had alot of popup messages regarding capturing strategic locations, turrents, spotted players and player kills/valor rewards. Now there will be only one and i don't think that there is a necessity to be notified each time we land a kill. I have been very patient with the game thus far, even though i have cancelled with the intention to re-sub if things get better in the patch. If i get a single system stale due to this i will simple Alt+F4 and uninstall the game without second thoughts. I'm already getting nightmares of WH online.
  2. 1) Our damage and burst is amazing. I've had my share of 5k-5.5k crits and a constant 3-4.5k in my rotations. What the problem is, is not DPS; Its the fact that these classes can los and heal to full, then come back and kill us. 2) You don't get it...in patch 1.5 it won't be as important winning a warzone anymore...Getting your 4 medals will. Win or loss, the faster a WZ ends, the quicker you can requeue. The changes were done so that it will be harder to prevent the enemy team from capping, thus faster games. (dot interrupt nerf, Bike 3 second delay) The point of a gunslinger is to do damage. The one thing i can agree on at this point is that we do nothing than any other class cannot do better. EDIT: All the changes seem to aim to a quicker acquisition of gear to minimalize the gear gap in pvp and i'm content with that because when everyone is at a similar gear level it will be easier to balance each class. Now, if we got nerfed again in any possible way it would be an overkill.
  3. We don't have heavy armor, a sprint, bubble, heal or vanish. We are really squishy. Throwing a grenade or is like screaming HEY IM HERE!!! and that results in being decimated rather quickly. If we can't dot people to prevent them from capping, there is little use in throwing a grenades and dying every single time and waiting half a mintute to respawn. Calling Flyby is the only viable alternative and that is not a spammable ability (and it shouldn't be)
  4. I, myself was a bit shocked when i saw this. Now, the only worthwhile spec is SS and all we can bring to the group is damage. I don't see why they would implement such a change but i would now expect people to pay much much less attention to objectives and more attention to doing damage to random enemy players. With the buff to wz commendations and valor i have no intention to do otherwise
  5. at least 40-60% of the time i spend in wz's (rank 51+ SS slinger) half or more of the imp team is composed of inquisitors who are for the most part sorcerers. What bothers me the most is not that they do insane amounts of damage, healing, cc and have a bubble. Its their ability to sprint away at will as soon as they feel that they are losing the fight, LOS, heal and come back to kill you. No one else can do that. Let me give some examples from my experience: Gunslinger/sniper: Hunker down: Immune to cc but if you move it's gone. Operative: Los+ kolto injection but if you restealth or vanish with dots, stealth will break. Sentinel: Temporaty invis + defensive cd to take very minimal damage but you are kiteable But the sorc? No matter who is attacking them they can cc/root them, bubble, sprint, LOS, Cleanse dots, Heal, come back and finish you off without breaking a sweat. Last night i focused a sorc, started to give him some punishment, he notices me, sprints LOS, heals. I switch to another sorc who was next to him. He notices me, sprints LOS, heals. I sit right there and think...what gives? These people can also escape groups of enemies anytime without any sort of major cd. If i chase them, by the time i get to them, the sprint is reset. Before you go ahead and say "leg shot", don't forget they have a trinket and their sprint is what, 20 second cd? I don't know their abilities in detail like the OP but the combination of all those is way over the top and the sheer amounts of them in every WZ is quite of a proof for me that something is amiss. In the 50's bracket Sorcs constantly top dps between 300-400k or even more while having 50-100k healing. I don't care what's wrong but it needs fixing.
  6. @ OP as a sabslinger expect more utility, less kills, about the same/ damage overall. You simply cannot match in any way the burst of a SS. If you are a saboteur you are in for supporting your team by dotting a lot of players, preventing caps and occasionally bursting out low armored targets. Can you break 300k? absolutely, i know i have. Should that be your main concern? I think not.
  7. I'm a valor 48 GS and i have never, ever seen "a lot of " people pulling anything over 450k. In fact, i don't think i've ever seen anyone break 500k damage in a wz before. If Civil war/hutt ball end too quick, most people have barely over 100k damage with top dps being around 120-150k Bragging is one thing that you do when you have proof of what you say. What you are doing is coming up with inflated imaginary numbers so you can feel better with yourself.
  8. Just a small not about your rotation and approach. I believe you're trying to do too much in very little time. No competitive player will allow you a tenth of that time apply that lengthy rotation. Also, you split your damage in small increments. This tells your enemy: HEY IM HERE I AM ATTACKING YOU. You don't want that. Sabo damage comes like a stealth bomber. They don't really see it coming but when it comes it's massive. You want the enemy to notice when its too late. Lets assume you are in the 1v1 situation having my spec(0/30/11)This allows me all the goodies from sabo tree + shrap bomb for on demand aoe bleeds to prevent caps. 1) Cover+Hunker down is your number 1 priority if you even want to stand a chance against any class. 2) if its a melee leg shot and proceed to DPS(consider flash bomb+pulse detonator also) If its ranged proceed to defensive cd's and then DPS. Evasion+defense screen+scrambling field are your best friends. Abuse them. 3) My main rotation: Pop Relic+adrenal+smuggler's luck + defense screen and proceed with sabo charge+charged burst+quick shot. this combo will do devastating damage in a matter of 2-3 seconds that will take at least half the HP of your enemy(assuming they haven't popped all their defensive cds before hand they don't have 700 exp). You may have noticed that i haven't used incendiary charge, sabotage, aimed shot and many other abilities. The point is to be effective and use the best abilities depending on the moment. Some abilites are energy hogs and i simply avoid them. For aoe use flyby + shrap bomb. For heavily armored players use flourish+shrap + incendiary. Dot enemies who are trying to cap Good luck
  9. And i provided a suggestion of what i did to get past that issue regarding someone's problem with cover against the voidwolf. Relax;)
  10. ...Unless you wanna hear that story about juggling lightsabers in my underwear again....
  11. Or will i get slaughtered endlesly? Also, are there quests there? I'm done with main class quest and i want a change (even though i enjoyed Corelia)
  12. - Does aimed shot actually shoot instantly when the loading is off? - Does kick work without the character getting stuck?
  13. and leaps and bounds better than any other of my companions? 1) Since i've gotten him i rarely (and i mean rarely) died to an elite or boss 2) He cc's a mob while i clean out the rest 3) He heals 4) His lines are freakin hilarious 5) With him i've killed the last encounter boss from the first try at 48 Guss has been right all along in saying: "Pretty sure you won't die" Thanks Guss
  14. i've finished my final encounter against voidwolf being a 48 full SS slinger. Just use Guss tuno to heal you and kite the hell out of voidwolf/hide behind walls, etc.
  15. I tried DF from the point i got wounding shots until i got Hemo shot. My remarks: 1) Takes too much time to prepare a rotation until you can burst. 2) Your burst must happen within a time frame where your dots are on the same target. 3) You don't have any (very) benefitial procs 4) Shrap bomb which is essential for your burst breaks cc because its aoe 5) You can find yourself Energy starved very often SS on the other hand: 1) you can DPS with no preparation, just jump in and start your rotation 2) your burst combos are used very often and on a low cd 3) Instant charged burst, reduced aimed shot, trick shot procs help a lot and on a low cd 4) no aoe = no cc breaker 5) Energy regeneration is great In fewer words: Stay SS in any pve encounter. If you ever consider pvp SS is still viable imo but you will need some serious keybinding and reflexes because SS lacks in mobility. Hope that helps
