  1. Thanks for those who actually discussed things somewhat. Insightful, I appreciate that. Personally, if I was in Bioware's shoes... I would make the Legacy unlocks actual Codex unlocks. So in order to get a target dummy on your ship you had to have gained a critical hit on an actual target dummy 100 times...or something like that. OR you can buy it I guess... That seems more fun to me instead of leveling an alt and amassing tons of Legacy XP.
  2. Obviously, no one is understanding what I'm saying. I think it's crap that I have to pay for Legacy items. Some of us don't have 10 hours a day to play games. I understand the time-sink factor of MMO's. What I DON'T LIKE, is adding a time-sink factor to MMO's just so you can swindle players into subscribing longer. I don't want to "have" to run dailies because it's practically a requirement to get credits. To me, logging into a game and doing the same thing every day for months on end isn't very much fun; and you're paying for that mind you. They need to decrease the grind without sacrificing the fun-factor of the game.
  3. Millions of credits for Legacy features... Should be rewarded for the characters we ALREADY LEVELED. No, I don't want to level 7 more characters just to get buffs and crap. I leveled a guy to 50, I made my Legacy. Give me my rewards, don't make me PAY FOR THEM A SECOND TIME.
  4. Grayson I wanted something that sounded sci-fi-ish, but common. So I settled on this one
  5. Just an FYI... If you want to get some sort of idea of where the money goes, click the "Credits" option at the character select screen and watch the 30 minutes of people listed that they are paying to keep the game running. It's EXTREMELY long.
  6. Who says you can't put all of that into the game? It was said that in this game, the player would be able to do most anything they wanted to do that they saw in the movies. But we can't really, not technically. You need to put all of those things listed, into the game. It's a lot of work, and perhaps, nigh impossible, but DO-ABLE. Take a risk and make people able to do in this game what they could only dream in other games.
  7. I like the romance thing, but it would've been WAY funnier if the points gained were something like "+5183" or something. I actually laughed at the thought of that when I watched LOL. Good stuff.
  8. I have been playing Pyro for the last couple weeks and I will say that I definitely prefer it over Arsenal in PvP any day of the week. Mind you, I'm not saying one is better than the other. Pyro works extremely well against Force users, (Sweltering Heat managment will get you a win everytime) and the only real problems I have had killing comes from; surprisingly, Arsenal Mercs, and Troopers. Arsenal Mercs do a ton of burst damage that I have yet to counter, but that could be a matter of timing my stuns better. This is assuming I am NOT using line of sight. Troopers take longer for me to kill because of their defenses I am guessing, but if I don't keep the DoT's up non-stop they simply will not die. Stealthies are cake, melee classes are cake. In a more logical sense; Pyro can run away while still doing damage, Arsenal cannot, because once they give up their Tracer Missile casts they pretty much have nothing. I can't tell you how many times I've run after players trying to get a Tracer Missile launched because my stuns are on cooldown; and failed. In conclusion, I personally like Pyro, I HATE spamming Tracer Missile. I think they are equal and what it comes down to is personal preference at the end of the day.
  9. Thanks man, appreciate your time. I'll check 'em out.
  10. I have been messing around with a few different specs on my bounty hunter, and I am just wondering if ANY hybrid spec is viable in PvP or PvE, or the system is made such that optimal damage output will be gained when specializing in one entire skill tree? I would REALLY like to see a dev post on this because I like using hybrid specs, but if they're completely useless, what's the point?
  11. First impressions were good. Now, after a month of playing I spacebar through every quest, save for story ones that I have not yet seen. (I actually knew that would get old because it did in the first 2 ME games, as well as Dragon Age). Quite honestly, there has been too much emphasis on story, and not enough emphasis on other game systems. This game needs some serious updates and innovation, otherwise it will not last it's first year, plain and simple.
  12. The problem isn't the existence or absence of an upgrade LFG tool. The problem is THE COMMUNITY. When you have a game where you can pretty much solo through all the way to level 50; and continue soloing from there (I know plenty of un-guilded people that run end-game content) what is the point of finding a group, EVER? There isn't one. Heroic quests for example; most everyone I know skips them now because it's a complete waste of time. No one wants to look for a group for 30 minutes. Plain and simple, it's a community issue, and also partially the developer's doing as well. The state of the game right now, with little to no bug fixes, this thing isn't made to last a year.
  13. There are plenty of these located FAR WEST in the last area of the Balmorran Arms Factory. This is also the area where you can find a datacron, for reference.
  14. If this happened, you can expect the game to be finished with the new engine in a few years. Funcom is working on updating the graphics engine for Anarchy Online, and it's literally been years in the making. Unless the game was made with the Unreal engine, there is no chance I could ever see this happening (although it would be awesome). Simply because the amount of work required would be like making another MMO of this magnitude.
  15. If you got your wish, and Bioware answered your post; what would they do? Force players to play Republic? I don't think so. It's not a Bioware issue, it's a player issue, people just like to play Empire, you can't change their minds. I would recommend looking around and finding a server that is Republic-dominated. That's really the only thing you can do.
  16. Mods were made to help, but they are RARELY used as such. Always assume that players will abuse the privilege of having mods. I see no reason for any type of mod like Recount in the game right now. I am doing just fine, and so have all the operations I have been in. It's really nice because people are just enjoying themselves, and so am I. I don't care if a Flashpoint or Operation takes longer because someone isn't geared, I'm just here to enjoy myself.
  17. From one gamer to another: You play too much (I am assuming this from your post, because that's what it sounds like, I honestly don't know...). Play in moderation dude. Too much of a good thing doesn't make it a good thing anymore. I get sick of playing this game; I get sick of playing a lot of games. Last night for example I was about to start the Hoth story missions, and I could've finished them last night, but I needed to take a break. Now today, I am excited to get to it and see what's goin' down on that planet. On another note; and I say this humbly. What is your poison? What kind of games do you like? What are you looking for? Figure this out before you play another MMO; because there are enough out there to find what you like. I was looking for a good, solid sci-fi game, that is why I play this game; and I have also played EVE online, but it wasn't everything I was looking for. I tried out a lot of games, and this one I enjoy. You can compare it to WoW all day long. And if that was your first MMO, you will do this; everyone does. I still compare games to the original Star Wars Galaxies. But I've learned to find what I like and enjoy myself. I say all this because it sounds like you are frustrated. I can honestly tell you my leveling has slowed because I've been doing other things; running dailies mostly. Which I enjoy having that option pre-max level. I've also been doing space missions and discovering crafting recipes. I also took some time to find a lot of codex entries on planets because you get an xp bonus if you find all of them for a particular planet. Besides that, I go back and progress my story in between running warzones. So there isn't a lack of things to do; you could even work on getting your social ranks up for titles and cosmetic rewards. In conclusion my friend, you could try finding a good guild. And if this game doesn't do it for you, then look up The Gaiscoich on Faeblight realm in RIFT. They have over 1500 members with hundreds of people online at any given time, and they run server-wide events weekly. No, I'm not exaggerating. If that's not enough, they also have a website where you can buy gear in the game with points earned from donating gold/items, materials to the guild bank as well as just attending guild events. A strong community. Good luck to ya.
  18. They stick around because they want to play a good sci-fi game, plain and simple. And this is one of the best ones out there right now.
  19. Who cares, I just want to enjoy myself and have fun playing the game. I don't care if everyone is at level 608473589307548. Think about this: When you make an alt on another game, everyone is already at max level. Did you care then? Why care now?
  20. Bioware guaranteed people early access on December 15th, NOT December 13th. So if you have access now, consider yourself privileged. For anyone else, you got two days until your access starts. Deal with it.
