  1. Depends on your spec, I suppose. If you have zero cooldown on TK Throw, you may as well use that. I like Project as an opener though, since it stuns for 2s against normal mobs. I'm a healer, so obviously I'm not focusing on huge DPS, but if I have room to deal damage since nobody needs to be healed urgently, Project is my go-to ability, for all the reasons already stated, specifically that I can use it while on the move and that I can hit the button and then forget about it while I focus on other things.
  2. Can anyone confirm that Tumult works on players? If it does, I can add it to my arsenal of situational tools to use in PvP. The damage it does is beefy enough that it might get me out of a sticky situation occasionally.
  3. Are you sure about this? I could've sworn that each tick that crit reduced Potency by a charge. Then again, as a healer I use Potency more towards healing so I might be remembering wrong.
  4. There is a Republic or Empire emblem next to their character portrait if they're flagged PvP.
  5. This seems like an awfully loaded statement. Through certain actions in PvP you gain medals. Yes. Does that mean everyone who PvPs is medal farming? No, not necessarily. If you are trying to do exactly what you are meant to do in PvP, at some point you will inevitably be granted medals for SOMETHING. Does that mean you are medal farming? No. That's like saying, if a soldier gets wounded in war (which obviously happens, quite a lot) and is awarded a Purple Heart, your statement assumes he took the bullet just to earn a Purple Heart. What kind of logic is that? Anyway, in regards to OP's question, I'd say not to even worry about it. The problem is not something easily policed, and what will end up happening is that any healer who is sitting around damaging themselves and healing themselves is not contributing to the team. It's ultimately a lot more fun to just participate in the game than it is to sit in a warzone for 15 minutes and just heal yourself.
  6. Why complain? Leaving a delay actually allows for better spiking. Look at it this way: On a Sorc you can Lightning, wait for your global cooldown, then cast something else. Your target knows they are being attacked the instant you press Lightning. On a Consular you can Project, and when your global cooldown ends, cast something else that is instant damage (like TK Throw). Your target doesn't take damage until the rock hits, at which point they are going to take a pretty hefty chunk of damage.
  7. I'd like to know where you read this that specifically states servers will be broken down individually as sub-forums. I am looking and still haven't found that fact. All I have so far is that they will be broken down by type (PvP, PvE, RP-PvP, RP-PvE) and that there will be a subforum for guild recruitment.
  8. I definitely feel that the game needs specific server forums, rather than general forums separated by server type. First of all, look at the disparity: As of the time of this posting... Number of English Servers (both US and EU combined) - PvP: 62 - PvE: 91 (90 if you don't include Public Test server) - RP-PvP: 4 - RP-PvE: 12 French Servers - PvP: 8 - PvE: 5 - RP-PvP: 1 - RP-PvE: 2 German Servers - PvP: 11 - PvE: 15 - RP-PvP: 1 - RP-PvE: 3 --- I don't claim to know exactly how the servers will be divided by type, but I assume they will at least be divided by language. If RP servers get their own subdivision as well, then there are at least a few servers that almost essentially do get their own private server forum. Then compare that to the other extreme, which is 90 English-speaking PvE servers (91 if you include the Test Server). That means that BioWare's current plan is to bunch 90+ PvE servers together the same way they would bunch together just a handful of International servers? It just doesn't make sense. If we assume every server has the same amount of forum activity, then at any given time the laws of probability dictate that the average PvE player will have to swim through pages of threads before they even find a SINGLE THREAD that is even relevant to their own server. Then compare to the one RP-PvP French or German server who essentially gets its own private server forum since it is the only one that exists. How is that fair or accommodating? If moderation is that big of an issue, it could be very easy to implement a volunteer-type moderation system where members can go through an application and screening process to receive very, very basic moderation privileges on their specific server forum ONLY. Specifically, the ability to lock threads, and to report threads to higher moderators (but with preference or higher priority, i.e. a server mod reporting a thread would get reviewed more quickly than a regular forum member reporting the same thread). Yes, that system could be abused, but with proper screening and with feedback from other community members on how certain moderators behave, it will improve over time. I am familiar with several very large online community forums that utilize volunteer moderators and they are very, very effective. With BioWare's emphasis on developing server communities, I feel that it's absolutely necessary to give each server its own forum. This way people can actually get to know each other and get acquainted without having to sift through pages of extraneous information.
  9. Obviously Willpower and Endurance are a given. Here is my current priority for a balanced PvE / PvP concept: Willpower > Endurance > Crit Rating > Alacrity > Surge Rating Is that about right? I feel like I should place higher priority on Alacrity for speedier heals (especially in PvP where fractions of seconds can make a huge difference), but at the same time I don't know that it's wise to prioritize it over Crit Rating.
  10. You don't NEED Egress, all you need is 15 points spent (or 20 points) to unlock the next tier. As for why they don't synergize, I have no idea. Egress is an extremely useful addition but Valiance seems like a waste especially if you are going to get Conveyance which makes Noble Sacrifice cost nothing.
  11. Thank you, I was just about to post asking if this had still not been found.
  12. I suppose it depends on your build. As a healing Sage, most of my points are in the Seer skill tree, which gives me Noble Sacrifice to restore Force, and my crits on my primary heal skill give me stacks of Conveyance which makes Noble Sacrifice cost no health. Force pool is typically not an issue for me unless I get in really prolonged fights. My point is, yes I may be spec'd for healing but the extra force allows me to do damage. Especially when solo'ing with just a companion, the extra damage output is still helpful. In a flashpoint or operation though I see little use for me to be in melee range of anything though - so like I said initially, I guess it just depends on your build.
  13. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I've seen several weapons vendors in outposts on different planets that carry Techblades. I know for sure I did buy one from the Weapons Vendor at the main outpost on Taris.
  14. I noticed a weird bug where, if Qyzen gets knocked down in a fight, he will stay knocked down even after combat ends. When I move around, he teleports to my location if I wander too far away from him. He'll still stand for attack animations, but gets on the ground between attacks. I'm not sure if this is limited to Qyzen or if it applies to all companions, yesterday was the first time I'd ever seen it and didn't bother to try on any other characters.
  15. Yeah, I've set them up before. They're three of the same exact monitor model, so I know they will work. I had them set up Eyefinity style before, but I moved them around and used them for different things since I had no games that I wanted to play with Eyefinity. That's about to change.
  16. I have three monitors available at home (they're not all set up to the same PC). Before I go through the trouble of trying to do it, does anyone know if TOR supports AMD Eyefinity? That way I can save the hassle of setting everything up just to realize it doesn't work. If it does work though, I will be one happy gamer.
  17. Nobody can post on the forums without being granted Early Access. If you try to post from an account without an active subscription or game time, you get this message: Username, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? 18. Thank you! Alt+Enter wasn't working due to the way my remote desktop handles inputs... I'd have to select a specific command from a drop-down menu and Alt+Enter wasn't one of them. Your advice on finding the .ini file worked!
  19. I'm trying to remote control my PC from work (lol, don't judge me) But when I play full-screen games my remote client blacks it out to save on processing. As such I can't navigate to the menus in game that would allow me to toggle windowed mode.
