  1. You living is not always the answer. It's harsh but it's true, sometimes your team is better served by you dying and jumping back into the fray with full health rather than needing to worry about yourself when you could instead be healing others. That's obviously situational, but it does turn out to be the case occasionally. I was not attacking you when I said it was a L2P issue, which is why I tried not to word it as an attack - I apologize if it came across that way. My point is, Salvation is a decent ability, yes. Making it instant-cast makes it unreasonably good. What happens when a team gets three Sage healers? Once one Sage casts Salvation, the others can cast it as well, providing a total of ~1100+ healing per tick to up to eight players (and that's already accounting for 30% trauma debuff, assuming caster has approx 1100 willpower). Salvation needs to be interruptable. If you are having problems casting it, stand out of view when you cast it, stun a player who is targeting you, burst run somewhere safe to cast it, fake a cast with Benevolence to bait an interrupt... there are lots of ways to help increase the chance that Salvation will fire. Making it instant is not a viable solution. But that's not even the crux of your argument; your argument is that Trauma unbalances healing in PvP when that's simply not the case.
  2. Sages and Sorcs breaking 1mill in Warzones is well-known and has been accomplished several times by several players already. I think you are grasping at straws here. I don't say this often, but if you are having trouble healing as a Sage, you should reconsider either your gear, your talent spec, or your ability to play the game. This is a L2P issue, not a balance issue. As people have already pointed out, Trauma is intended to offset the overhealing done by healers compared to PvE bosses. If Salvation were instant cast, it would break the game. That would mean once every 15s you can INSTANTLY (meaning zero chance of interruption) drop an AoE heal over time, and you can still heal on top of it since it still runs while you can cast other things. Trauma debuff is fine as is. Salvation's cast time stays. Sages and Sorcs are already currently one of the best classes in the game, they don't need more buffs.
  3. I agree with everything already stated, but there is one addition I'd like to add, personally. Metagame and making good reads. Knowing when people are about to do something or change something about their behavior because of current situation in the game; the best example I can come up with on this is on a map like Alderaan Civil War for example. If you are defending two turrets and have been successfully defending one turret from attacks for a long time (and there are a lot of your forces there), knowing when to pull back is vital so that you can be at the other turret in time to defend it when your enemy ultimately decides to change which turret they are attacking (which will almost always happen). This is more prominent in games with more wide varieties of choices, especially in fighting games, but it exists in MMO combat as well.
  4. Sorry, edited the first post with a link to the trailer.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stUOwXStj0A I compiled a list of the things that appeared in the flurry of info near the end of the trailer. This is in addition to any changes mentioned in the body of the trailer, like Customizable UI, new Armor, new Flashpoint, Operation, Warzone, Expanded Legacy system, etc. New Lightsaber colors New Vehicles New Crafting schematics Ship Droids gain affection Extractable Tier 2 mods Craftable Augments Legacy Item Drops New Roleplay Emotes Increased Chance of researching schematics Reverse Engineer random drops Stackable companion gifts More craftable color crystals Trade Vendor in Corellia Spaceport Cybertech vehicles no longer bind on pickup Crystal Formations on Alderaan (not sure what this means, maybe like the crystal formation in Ilum?) Augments in craftable orange gear Companion gift cooldown removed Learnable Tier 2 item crafting COMBAT LOG I may have missed a few things but I am pretty sure I got most of it. Enjoy!

Had to view in 720p and pause the video and squint at the screen to try and figure some of these out lol... There are others that I'm missing too but the text either cuts off or is too small.
  7. You will know that it was a critical hit if the number that pops up is in larger text than most of your other fly-text. The font size will be several sizes larger. The amount of extra damage you do is determined primarily by your Surge Rating.
  8. The version that should have more Willpower than Endurance should be the Force-Mystic version, not the Force-Master version.
  9. Okay. In the current system, when your warzone queue pops and you click Enter Warzone, it puts you directly in the warzone. The problem with this is that if players go afk or suddenly get busy with other things, they don't enter or click Ignore. From a coding perspective, I don't know how easy the solution to this problem is. But from a common sense perspective it's simple: Don't start the warzone until 8 players from each side have confirmed they are going to play. If the timer runs out on the Warzone Notification and there still aren't 8 players on each side, nothing happens and all the players can continue going about their merry business until the last few spots fill up, at which point the queue notification comes up again. Once it hits 8 each, then all the players are transported to the warzone for the match. Not only does this solve the population problem, but it also helps to prevent people with slower connections from getting far behind since everyone starts loading at the same time (rather than some people starting earlier than others since it depends on when you click Enter Warzone). As far as I can see, there are no downsides to this solution.
  10. ITT: QQing about people QQing about people QQing about people QQing about people leaving warzones
  11. I thought Vivicar and Sidonie Garen were much more difficult than Stark (though maybe it has to do with the fact that I was slightly underleveled for Vivicar and Sidonie, and slightly overleveled for Stark). I ran Stark with Nadia, who I geared with hand-me-downs, which were slight upgrades over her existing gear. I'm a 31pt Seer (healer). I basically just kited Stark around the boxes while occasionally popping out to reapply DoTs, hit him with Project, and interrupt his heal. Nadia, I would estimate, did close to like 75% of the overall damage against him. His heal was the ONLY thing I attempted to interrupt since he has so many different casts that it's not worth it to try and stop anything else, since he only has one heal. Kept Force Armor up on Nadia as well as Rejuvenate whenever I could, and if she was taking a beating I'd Healing Trance -> Deliverance combo her back to full health. Once Stark was down to about 10% I just helped Nadia focus him down.
  12. Even with 31 points in Seer you still have modest DPS. It's not fantastic, but it's there. Project + Tumult works wonders in PvE against Strong and Weak mobs, TK Throw is still very effective even with a cooldown, Disturbance is good, Weaken Mind and Mind Crush are effective dots (and Weaken Mind has no cooldown). Forcequake is also great for when enemies are bunched up together. But, on the other hand if you don't want to heal as a Sage you don't have to.

    Spotting healers

Yes, but it's reusable. If you find them again, mark them again! Lol.

Also, do your team a favor and mark them with a targeting device that you can buy from the Social Items Vendor on your Fleet for cheap.
  15. You definitely can delete it. I received a duplicate (when BioWare resent all the pre-order bonuses) and deleted it with no issues... much to my surprise.
  16. It's selfish (and foolish) of you not to vote MVP, period. Always try to vote for SOMEONE. Why? Because voting provides extra commendations, which ultimately helps contribute to that player (and thus, your faction) getting better gear. Extreme example, but if one faction never voted MVP and another faction always did, the gear imbalance would be clearly noticeable, especially early on. Even if you lose horribly, always vote for someone.
  17. I've been hoping for a bounty system ever since the game was announced. The surprise element of PvP is hugely fun. I think this is a fantastic idea, plus it would add some spice to PvE servers. The great thing about the system is that nobody is technically forced into it - in order to get a bounty placed on you, you have to have participated in PvP at some point anyway, so you'd have to know the risks.
  18. Not trying to nitpick, but who calls it an "L-saber"? Just seems like a weird abbreviation.
  19. I play on Space Slug and have never seen this, and I PvP quite a lot. Admittedly I'm staying in the 10-49 bracket while I can, I'm at the cusp of breaking Level 49 and am dreading being a fresh 50, but that's beside the point. I have never heard anyone call out Snow or Trees/Grass. If I have the time to specify, I'll say "left/west" or "right/east", so that there is a little confusion as possible since, not only am I saying the subjective side, I'm also specifying the objective direction of the node on the map. I do prefer East/West though.
  20. There are a lot of Sages on my server. Also, yes, one meaning of the word "sage" is a particular family of plant life. But the most typical definition is why it was chosen: sage  [seyj] noun 1. a profoundly wise person; a person famed for wisdom. 2. someone venerated for the possession of wisdom, judgment, and experience.
  21. Every time I've seen it so far, it has been whoever attacks last (i.e. whoever defends first). You can go ahead and say it's not true, and maybe you're right. But that's been my experience so far.
  22. I am wondering, can anyone confirm that it is, in fact possible to critical craft an orange item? I looked through the previous patch notes looking for anything regarding a change to make them possible to critically craft but haven't seen anything, despite talk in the first few posts of this thread that it was now possible.
  23. As far as I know, only Orange-quality lightsabers can be modded. There are some situations in other equipment where purples can be modded but I've never seen that in a lightsaber.
  24. That is exactly what I do. Link. Our builds are exactly alike aside from the one point difference. I put the extra point into Disturb Mind, so if I'm about to die while defending a capture point, I can cycle through and try to DoT as many players as I can, then try to get back in time to keep defending.
  25. As a Shadow I can definitely see how it might seem uninteresting, especially if you go into it with a DPS mindset like you want to tear things up and be a justice-dispensing killing machine. The story doesn't really suit that mentality well. In a lot of ways it's very diplomatic (and many times, it literally IS diplomatic), but it has natural highs and lows. Act I drags on a little bit longer than it probably should, but Acts II and III are pretty good. It's a little bit more of a thinking story rather than an action story.
