  1. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600GGdRrd0dGzZf00MZ0M.2 This is a fairly common build for straight healing in Warzones. This is typically the base, take what liberties you want with it. Some people like to put points in Concentration (in the Telekinetics tree) because casting Disturbance then improves your Force Regen. Others like to put points into Egress (in the Seer tree) as it provides more mobility and frees you from roots. As for the bubble spec, really you just want to make sure you have Preservation (lower cost of Force Armor), and Kinetic Collapse (Force Armor stuns enemies when it ends). The rest is yours to toy with.
  2. I blame the coming generation in society where the kids weren't beaten for doing things wrong. I'm sure this is grounds for a totally different discussion entirely, but laws and schools are so strict about these things that parents can't discipline their kids the way a lot of current adults were disciplined as children. It makes them think they can get away with anything and causes them to disrespect people who are, in many cases, trying to help them. That's the mentality I've been seeing in a lot of F2P games and, recently, been seeing in TOR. For better or for worse, we just gotta deal with it.
  3. If that is so, enjoy trying to figure out how to continue playing the game (the one you paid for) once service is discontinued. Good luck by the way; the SWG Emu team has been trying since 2005 and they still have a long ways to go. Regardless, yes I enjoy the fluff that I purchased with the Cartel Coins.
  4. Klarick, Are you serious? See link: http://www.swtor.com/free/features The ONLY thing free players get that is the same as subscribers is to play the entire campaign. Let's take a look at how even that is affected: That is too much for free? Let's not even start addressing the fact that you feel two quickbars is enough. For most classes (if not every class), two quickbars is not even enough to house every ability available to you and while yes, certain abilities get more use than others, any even mediocre player knows that there are situational uses for every ability. Needing to fire the ability from the Abilities Window simply won't cut it in those situations. I really hope you are trolling. Because asking to give F2P even less than they already have is absolutely ridiculous. I am a founder, just like you. I am a subscriber, just like you. I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition the moment it was available. I have an account that was created the DAY the SWTOR website and forums were first opened (not this account, but I can link you to it and post from it if you need proof). I'm of the opinion that F2P players don't have enough.
  5. Shameless bump. Does nobody agree? Everyone wants cookie-cutter colors???
  6. I thought it was a solid 8 or 9. If you go into it with the mindset that it is not really about you, but rather that it is about setting in motion a bunch of events that will cause greater change, it can be very interesting. As a Consular player, I envisioned my character as a diplomat, so I thought this worked out really well for me. I can understand why some players would dislike it though. My only gripe is that the two romanceable companions join so late in the game that any romance with them feels rushed and forced.
  7. The fact that players are used to it doesn't mean it's good. I personally don't see why Project can't just utilize sort of a telekinetic ball, represented graphically by like a semi-transparent sphere that we hurl at foes. I have no issue with the animation from a balance perspective, but I agree that the old animation was much more impressive to look at.
  8. Okay. I have looked through the forums and have seen plenty of requests for the ability to dye armor, but most are just requests or a "when will we get this" type post. None go into much detail. In the hopes that it will make it easier for BioWare to understand (and thus implement), I'd like to detail the specific benefits, and various methods, of adding a system that will allow players to dye their armor. Dyes should be obtainable in at least one of the following ways: - Crafted by players (I would guess Synthweaving would be most fitting for this, but we can put it wherever) - Dropped as loot (with stronger mobs yielding higher drop rates or chances for rarer dye) - Purchasable from an in-game Vendor for Credits - Exchangeable from an in-game Vendor for Commendations - Purchasable from Cartel Market Virtually all of these options help to stimulate the in-game economy. In the game's current state, an average player does not NEED to browse the Galactic Trade Network because most things, aside from very high-level equipment, are easy enough to obtain solo. Allowing dyes to be traded creates a demand for highly valued dyes, thus promoting more activity on the GTN, or acting as a new outlet for players to spend their Credits at a Vendor. Additionally, in a game where there is not a huge variety in classes, the way we differentiate players from each other, and the way we differentiate ourselves from other players, is crucially important. A fully-voiced game like TOR offers so much story interaction, and allows players to feel so connected with their characters, that it's almost an injustice to not allow players to dye their armor. Giving players this outlet to make their characters feel more unique will only help to make the game even more enjoyable. A game with a story as rich as TOR is highly conducive to role-playing, and as players we develop very fleshed-out ideas of what our characters are like, but with the current choices of clothing and color, players aren't able to fully express that concept. For example, many of the colors common to Jedi clothing (mostly browns and grays) are colors I would never envision my Consular wearing. Allowing players to dye their clothing and armor would give us more ability to express our character's individuality. And at what cost? We know the ability to match clothing hue to our Chest slot is already in the game. I'm pretty sure I remember that in an early trailer for the game, a brief clip showed color customization as an option, so I am confident that the functionality exists somewhere. If not, it is not a far stretch for colors to be changed beyond the colors of the chest slot. Fight cookie-cutter syndrome and let us make our characters unique, BioWare!
  9. I love how the trailer puts epic music beside menial (I mean, uh, exciting) tasks like Meal Preparation and Window Cleaning lol.
  10. Canonically I actually think Form VI: Niman makes the most sense for Consulars given the storyline. Niman is sort of an all-encompassing saber form that is usually best suited for diplomats; I don't think anyone would argue that the Consular storyline is all about diplomacy. Also, the use of Force-based attacks to augment your combat in Niman style was encouraged and even necessary in most cases. Reference
  11. Warzones on the Space Slug server won't be missing this Sage. I am here to stay. =]
  12. They did fix the bug. Then they made Deliverance worse on top of it.
  13. Despite the coming changes of 1.2 being much worse than I'd prefer, healing is just what I do. I've mained a healer in pretty much every MMO I've ever played and don't intend to stop any time soon just because BioWare dealt me a different hand to play with. Do I like the changes? No. In fact, I think they're awful. But after all of the dust settled for me and I got to thinking about the changes and how I could try to get around them, at that point I realized that I'd already committed to adapting to the changes (since I was already trying to figure out how to make the class work despite the changes). I enjoy PvP enough, and I enjoy the game enough, that I'm willing to roll with the punches and keep healing. Especially when you consider that a lot of people may be re-rolling soon, it's possible that Warzones may have a shortage of healers (of all varieties since healing was made harder across the board). Wake up, Seers. We're not in Kansas anymore. Being a Sage Healer is no longer going to be formulaic, and is actually going to start requiring some good judgment and quick thinking. In light of the Sage changes being awful, it almost pains me to say that I'm actually looking forward to 1.2.
  14. /signed The change to Noble Sacrifice is stupid. If I'm not mistaken, it now only causes you not to degenerate Force, which quite frankly, in the heat of battle, I don't give a damn about how quickly / whether or not my Force regenerates, I care about my health and about my Force pool at the moment. Changing Resplendence to not prevent the health hit of Noble Sacrifice renders Noble Sacrifice almost entirely useless. This, in turn, makes the points spent in Resplendence almost entirely useless. I can understand the change to not allow Conveyance to be used twice (e.g. Healing Trance > Deliverance supercombo) - this is fine. But to change the way it affects the heals entirely is unnecessary. Sages NEED the ability to cast a burst heal, otherwise Benevolence is the only heal we have and even if it crits with the added crit% currently in the game, it's still not good. Why remove tools?
  15. Personally I'd like more hair choices that are longer. Currently all the hairstyles in the game are no longer than shoulder-length at best.
  16. If all it does is cause Noble Sacrifice to not degenerate Force, I will take my points out and get Egress instead.
  17. So then what does it do? Can anyone confirm?
  18. Am I like the only person who enjoyed the story? I went in expecting to be a diplomat and got exactly that.
  19. CTRL+F Qyezen Replace with: Qyzen Otherwise, great guide!
  20. I actually had the most trouble against Sidonie Garen, the afflicted master you have to save on Alderaan. That might just be because I rushed through to try and complete Act I to get my Legacy name, and was thus incredibly underleveled (and undergeared) for the fight. Also: I did this fight the legit way, but what's the cheat/trick? I wasn't aware there was one. I did it as a healer, with Nadia. Just tried to keep Force Armor and Rejuvenate on her, and I'd use Rescue to try and take aggro from her if she was taking too much heat, then Cloud Mind to pass aggro back to her if I was getting too much attention. Saved my interrupts for ONLY when he tried to bring the cavern down on me.
  21. I'd put down good money that the Consular iconic ability is actually going to be Force Lift. Simply because it's the only thing that might actually be useful during your Heroic Moment - there's no use for a new damaging ability when each class already has plenty of their own. But think about the situation you'd need to be in to make activating your Heroic Moment useful in the first place - when you're overwhelmed and/or outnumbered. An extra CC might be critical. If it's not Force Lift, my next guess would be Force Speed.
  22. Frankly I don't see how that's a response to my post. I don't mean to offend, it just seems irrelevant. If you want to do those things, that's all well and good, but none of that has any effect on PvP. Logging more hours, having better time management, or contributing more to the game doesn't determine a player's ability. It's just a series of numbers that has no bearing on the player's ability to perform, nor should it.
  23. I absolutely agree with OP. If you want to determine a player's actual skill rather than their ability to log hours in the game to obtain the best gear, then the gear aspect has to be made uniform across the board. Guild Wars did a great job at this by still allowing you to customize your gear loadout at the highest level, but tailoring it to the particular stats that were most effective for your build or your playstyle. I think it's a fantastic idea, but unfortunately I highly doubt it will ever get implemented into TOR.
  24. Ask and you shall receive, I didn't see this posted anywhere else. I viewed the video in 720p, blew it up fullscreen and examined the text while pausing intermittently to take a closer look. Much squinting was involved. =P I compiled a list of the things that appeared in the flurry of info near the end of the trailer. This ONLY lists anything that was in the quick fly-text near the end of the trailer. New Lightsaber colors New Vehicles New Crafting schematics Ship Droids gain affection Extractable Tier 2 mods Craftable Augments Legacy Item Drops New Roleplay Emotes Increased Chance of researching schematics Reverse Engineer random drops Stackable companion gifts More craftable color crystals Trade Vendor in Corellia Spaceport Cybertech vehicles no longer bind on pickup Crystal Formations on Alderaan (not sure what this means, maybe like the crystal formation in Ilum?) Augments in craftable orange gear Companion gift cooldown removed Learnable Tier 2 item crafting COMBAT LOG I may have missed a few things but I am pretty sure I got most of it. Enjoy!
  25. This is the only time I spam NS -- if I am alone guarding a turret. Any other time it's not worth it. But if nobody wants to switch with me, I may as well get the extra medals, because in a lot of cases I can go the whole match without seeing any action.
