  1. Consular "Stairway to Heaven" Inquisitor "Communication Breakdown" Warrior "Immigrant Song" Knight "No Quarter" Smuggler "Ramble On" Agent "Gallows Pole" Trooper "Black Dog"
  2. I'm talking about Leaching Strike. The animation is just a simple little strike. Nothing flashy. Nothing spectacular ... and I have no problem with that but it does tend to throw me off my game a little. It's really a timing thing for me. That simple strike is over before the GCD is done so when I'm in sync and throwing attack after attack ... right in the middle of it ... I throw a Leaching Strike and the entire rhythm of the attack sequence is thrown off. It would be nice to add something there ... like maybe a little flourish or something to keep the attack visuals and timing in sync.
  3. The Juyo form is one of the light saber forms Marauders use in this game and because "they" believe Maul uses it he should be considered a Marauder. In truth, when you look at the double bladed light saber and even the resting motion ... Maul is an assassin. In fact, the dev's even said the assassin was modeled after Maul. There is always a "devils advocate" in a every group and while I welcome their take on things, in this case ... they are wrong. Maul is an assassin. Period. As a fun little thing to do while you taking a game break, Google light saber forms. Interesting reading.
  4. I rarely equip a complete set. I mix and match. Therefore I even buy sets I don't care for just to have the gloves ... boots ... belt ... etc.
  5. To the OP: I love this game! I thinks it's great from the start and unlike other AAA games the game doesn't start at max level ... the game starts at level 1. I love the stories. I love the combat ... esp the animations. I love the way the story progression is put together. I love the way I can play by myself and when I'm in the mood can just as easily play with others. I love how my abilities flow from one to another and the synergy the utilities bring. I love that unlike other AAA games, I'm not weaker as I grow in levels and require groups to make up for it. I love how it's not just another generic rehash of elves and fairies. I can see areas that need improvements ... there is no perfect game ... but they in no way take away from the overall feel and play-ability of this excellent game. Will I get tired of it? Yes, of course I will and when it becomes a chore more than something I look forward to I will leave, but for now it's my preferred game and the best of the bunch. I've played many AAA MMORPG's and have since Ultima ... and just like in RL, if you look hard enough you can always find flaws. I don't look for flaws. I don't look to nitpick the negatives. I don't see the bad in everything first then magnify it out of proportion. I look for a good time and to me this game is just fun for me. All of the negative Nancy's out there, no matter what drivel you post, will not convince me I'm not having fun. There are always people in the game community who whine and complain nonstop about this or that. They don't look at positives they are only into the negatives yet continue to play anyway. All that changes for them is the name of the game. I really don't understand these people and while problems with this or any game must be brought forward, to make a crusade out of destroying games is a mindset I don't get. Then again, I don't have to. All I need to know is ... am I having fun? If the answer is yes then I continue to play. If not I leave. It's not rocket science.
  6. I think the dev's are trying to get people to at least try grouping for a FP/OP and/or trying PvP. I'm using this time to max out my SW so I decided to go the PvP route because it's faster giving me more time to level my char in the double Exp window. I hate PvP. Now I don't. I didn't know how Huttball worked but I went in anyway and just started killing any Republic scum I could find. I died a lot but so did everyone else on both sides. We even won two out of three matches!. I never thought I would say this but I have the PvP bug now. I'm going to max this char out then start getting serious into PvP. If the dev's were trying to get us to try something new, it worked and it changed the entire game for me. YMMV
  7. First off, this IS NOT a single player game. When I log on I always see people running around and I can engage with them at will. Just because this game isn't all about gearing up for the next big raid doesn't make it a single player game. Sometimes I wonder about some of you. Also, all of the arguments I hear about grouping up for FP or OP's seem to come from the reluctance ... if not outright fear ... to put yourself out there in a group that will harshly judge your reactions. I call BS!! Yes, there are some "professional" guilds and teams out there who live and die for the perfect raid encounter and judge every move you make, but they aren't that numerous. For the most part the players you group with are just like everyone else. They want to do well but if they don't it's not the end of the world. In other words, they are just like you. Get in group finder, and let it rip. You may surprise yourself by how great you do and may be equally surprised that others have the same faults that you do. It's just a game. Play it the way you want. Run quests by yourself and wave at others as you run by or live in eternal group mode. This game gives you the freedom to do both. Take advantage of it and step out of your comfort zone. You may find yourself in a part of the game you didn't even know existed and have fun doing it.
  8. First off the MMO is not dead. It is however changing along the lines of Destiny for instance. The OP made an intelligent post but it wasn't "intelligence" based. In other words, there were no facts about an actual game. It was speculation biased with what the OP would like to happen. Yes, the post had facts in it but like I tried to explain to people during the election, just because a statement contains facts doesn't mean the statement is true. I would imagine there will be a big time SW game coming down the pike in one form or another. After all, the gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar play field and the holder of a SW game IP won't make the mistake of letting an opportunity slip by. An MMO however? Questionable. If I were to guess ... and like the OP that's all I can do ... I would think they would revamp this game first which would keep the cost down and the current players happy. Probably in much the same way Origins did with Ultima. Port the game over to a new engine and keep building from there. The SW IP might have success where the Ultima IP failed. Either way, I'll keep playing this game until it's not fun any longer and then move on. I suspect I'm not the only one.
  9. The biggest weapon against anything is the stomp. It's a waste against weaker scattered enemies but against the toughest it a sure fire kill. Just walk up to them and stomp. Use no other weapons ... just stomp.
  10. I think it should be a permanent option for Legendary Players. If you have played the class story for every class on both sides, you have run through these planet quests enough to know them by heart, word for word. At this point just doing the story to get to max level is the way to go. Think of it as a reward for being legendary other than a title and a flair.
  11. ... but it sure would be nice to have a double Experience / CXP event during that time. Just throwing it out there!
  12. I've read quite a few of these posts and I can say this ... if BW wanted you to care about the story ... mission accomplished. You may not like the choice but the fact you care enough to post about it tells me the story line ... though maybe not what you wanted ... succeeded.
  13. Khem, for all his words, is the most loyal companion any class has ever had. Khem all the way!
  14. If you look at how the dev's break down the DPS placement in their list, you will see that Vigilance/Vengeance Guardians are supposed to be at the top. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9333043 Yes, they are supposed to output higher DPS that the Sentinel/Marauder ... with the exception of the Watchman/Annihilation sub class which is supposed to be at the same level. I guess that's the benefit of using DoT's for damage. .
  15. DS Inquisitor. They may or may not have the highest body count but they drip pure darkside evil. What makes them worse is they will not only kill you but in some cases devour your ghost as well. Yes, these darkside freaks go after some even after death. The Warrior has a cause they fight for, even if it's revenge. They can be pretty dark but the Inquisitor is all about personal power at any cost and will stop at nothing to get it. In fact, the gather so much darkside power to them that they can't handle it ... so ... they have their bodies remade to contain the power and undergo mental training to control it. The Inquisitor is probably the closest thing to the Emperor there is in this game.
  16. I've played quite a few MMORPG's and I have never seen a dev team describe how they balance classes in such detail. Eventually, they will get the classes to where they want them at some level ... even though once achieved I'm sure holding it there will be harder. Until then its a wait and see thing. I think the player base has an expectation as to where on the "list" their class should fall and when it doesn't they attack the dev's for being idiots when in fact, it was the players expectations that were incorrect. Also, while the player base has done some excellent work in parsing damage, utility effects, etc ... the dev's have the best and most accurate data. Period. When these data points don't match, well, what source would you trust? Having said that, the biggest issue I see is they can't separate PvE form PvP in terms of abilities and that just adds an extra layer for them to deal with. IMO, until they can separate PvE form PvP in terms of abilities and utilities, this game will never be truly balanced and they will be called out by their player base because of it.
  17. I agree. Individual stories's are done. Its all one big story now applicable to everyone. Where it goes is hard to say.
  18. I'm thinking the best way forward is to somehow make Zakuul just another piece of the puzzle with the game focus put back on Empire vs Republic. One way to do that would be to have the Empire and Republic go to war over that entire system for the resources, eventually breaking it in two .... some follow the Empire some follow the Republic. In the end, we would have essentially, a new set of planets to romp across for each faction. The war would be delayed as both sides need gain more strength and repair from the Zakuul fallout. With Zakuul adding depth, we are talking years of future content potential. Besides, I think BW already had a game plan before Zakuul was even named. I doubt they are sitting there going "good god what now"?
  19. I like that. I'm going to steal your idea and see if I can't make a Male Inquisitor version of a Wraith.
  20. Euan Morton is the voice actor for the male and did the voice in the original as well as the expansions. If there is a difference it may be the way the actor reads the lines, though I haven't noticed it. Personally, I think the Male Inq's voice is perfect for the char.
  21. What if you added a damage component to Mental Alacrity / Polarity Shift? Any ability's used during that time would have increased Alacrity by 20%, Immunity to Interrupts and increase all damage done by X% As the player, it would be up to you to push the damage forward by choosing what to cast within that 10 sec window. It would add a little more skill to the rotation while increasing over all damage in Operations where it would be used more than once vs a normal PvE situation where it might be used once before the MOB is dead. IN PvP you would have to maneuver in a way to catch the timing just right for an increased damage output.
  22. Some great points. It may be the Wrath has no real option at all. If he/she doesn’t take the throne then either someone else would by force or the people would rise up and choose someone. Either way, there is no guarantee the new “ruler(s)” would be favorable to either the Empire or Republic. In that case, failure to take the throne could result in a three faction war that could destabilize the galaxy further. If you look at it this way, you can open the door for the Jedi to take the throne with a clear conscience. Decisions decisions. Sadly, as far as the game goes, taking the throne … or not … seems to be more of an after-thought than a solid and viable choice. So far, there doesn’t seem to be much of an effect in going either way. Maybe that will change.
  23. The Wrath is a warrior, not a politician. I can’t see how the day to day affairs of Zakuul would be of any interest to the Wrath at all. Keep in mind that he/she swore fealty to Baras … who betrayed them. The Wrath then destroyed the betrayer and swore fealty to the emperor … who also betrayed the Wrath. That emperor was destroyed. The Wrath now has total freedom to do whatever he/she wants to do and for the first time is not under anyone’s rule. Now, I can see the SI wanting to rule over all. Their search has always been about personal power and with the Eternal Throne and Fleet, their powerbase would grow … but the Wrath? I get the impression that ruling Zakuul would be the last thing they would want. Your thoughts?
  24. Disagree. Letting Windu seem like he won was the plan the moment Anakin showed up. Palpatine was no where near done which is why when Anakin cut off Windu's arm he blasted him with force lightning with ease. This not only killed him but made Anakin an accomplice in the death which solidified his allegiance to the dark side. Also later when Yoda and Sidious went at each other, it was obvious that Palpatine was an expert duelist. This is confirmed in the Book "Darth Plagueis". Windu was strong but he was not at the same level as Yoda and Palpatine. As to the OP ... All of the force users start off equal is seems. They are either gifted or the best of their generation or have extreme potential. The Knight/Warrior specializes in the saber skills while the Sage/Inquisitor spent their time studying the deeper aspect of the force. Keep in mind that using the saber also requires the force so all the classes are powerful in the force. To me they would be equal ... except for Darth Nox. He/she had an inborn ability to force-walk which when trained allowed them to gather more force power. Of course, he/she went too far and in the end ... and this is the main point here ... they had their body rebuilt by the Mother Machine to be able to handle more force power and their minds reconditioned to handle that power mentally. This is a HUGE difference and puts Darth Nox on a higher level more closely related to the emperor than his "peers". Most likely, Nox would be near immortal and if given the same time spent learning the secrets of the force the emperor had, he would closely match that power. Think of this as 4 cars all pretty much equal in power. Some had bigger wheels some had a better stereo. However, take one of those cars and put in a more powerful engine and better transmission and that car would pull away from the rest. Whether intentional or not, that is what the class story for the Inquisitor did. However between the Sage and Knight ... I would say the one who made the first mistake would lose. Other than that they would be equal.
  25. Disagree. In the Inquisitors story he/she had an "affinity" for it. It is something you're born with and needs to be developed. If you weren't born with the affinity then you can't do it no matter how much studying you do.That is why there were so many corpses laying there. The Ghost who teaches you even confirms this. Check out the story again and you will see ...
