  1. I'm a confirmed solo player. I just don't buy into the old EQ crapola that says killing MOB's together is a social game. I tend to socialize in other ways. However .... In this game I have grouped more than in any other game I've played. There are always plenty of people online and in fact, for some quests, it gets very crowded when we are all going after the same thing. This game IS an MMORPG. I don't why some people are trying to nit-pick the term but while this game does have a single player story line attached to an MMO, it is ... without a doubt ... an MMO. I guess some people have to complain about something ...
  2. That's just it. There is no way to tell if a player is bad or not. No way to tell if a player lives up to your expectations or not. No way to blame a wipe on someone. No way to take control of a players char by telling them how to play, how to spec, what to do. For every elitist out there, I'm willing to wager there are many MANY more who are so disgusted with the mini-generals who try to control you that they simply stopped playing end-game content. Luckily, with SWTOR, it not an issue. Lets hope BW doesn't cater to these people and bring the game down to their level.
  3. The story line which changes from char to char. The combat animations. The fact that I can alter the story and my place in it, by just answering a different way. The worlds are diverse, well laid out and have a feel all their own. Until now, I gave up on grouping. With gear-score, parser's, mini-generals who tried to dictate your game play, etc it felt more like work and an obligation than game play. Now, grouping is fun again. I love the combat system. No elves! Youth. Yes, this is a brand new game that will get better and better over time and I'm in on the ground floor.
  4. I've had no problem seeing or finding people to play with. What's funny, is that I'm a confirmed solo player. I stopped grouping up to kill MOB's years ago since I didn't want to play at someone else's speed or be told how to play and spec. Oh ... the funny part is that I've done more grouping in this game than in any game I've played in years. That includes WoW, EQ2, etc. The "this plays like a single player game" rant is a card that seems to be played on any new game not called "WoW". Really. If you can, look at some of the other new games that have come out in the last few years. Its the same story. Makes me wonder if some of these people are hired to do so ...
  5. Some people just have to take a game and make it into a hardcore job. I play to have fun, not to have some no-life mini-general with delusions of godhood tell me how to play. Makes you wonder how people played before they had all of this gear-score, combat parser crap. IMO, if you're getting upset with not knowing your gear-score, how much damage you did or who topped the damage meter ... if you're stressed out not knowing if you wiped because your healer used the wrong heal at the wrong time ... then you might want to put the game down, go outside and breathe the fresh air. Oh ... if you do go outside, don't be afraid of that big round yellow thing in the sky. Its just your friend, Mr Sun.
  6. Love this game! I have had zero problems at all. Well, except for when I took on that elite MOB and didn't have my companion out but ... that's what I call a user error. Great story, great play, great world(s) design. I have no lag issues, no video problems no crashes ... nothing. Yes, I had to wait for around 5 min in a queue but that's a non-issue for me. It will get better as the game population sorts itself out. Always does. Love the way my Sin wields that light-saber staff. Fantastic animation. All in all, my favorite game at the moment. Great job BW!
  7. Well, I'm having fun. Fun, is what I pay for. Don't care about features ... which I do like BTW ... don't care about comparing this or that. All I care about is "Am I having fun"? Yes, I am. Happy customer. True ... its not a sandbox style game. In fact, there are very few of those left. There is a reason for that ..... As far as i'm concerned, I'm having a great time. If you don't like it, best to just leave and wait for the next "fix" that comes around the corner. Life is to short to play a game you don't like. In closing, thank you for the tears. I really do hope you find something you like. After all, that's what its all about.
  8. Its fun. Thats all that matters. Don't care about blah blah blah. Just about fun and this game has it in droves.
  9. I disagree with the OP. I've played most of the AAA titles and as far as I'm concerned, this IS the MMO King. Whats also fantastic is this game is going to get better and age well over time. Its all good. Just my opinion of course, but its the only one that matters to me
  10. You do realize that this game is expected to run for a VERY long time right? I'm sure you also understand that a month from now, all of this early access stuff will be history and a non-issue ... right? When you consider that a games launch will determine its over-all success, its a no-brainer for a company to make sure things go smoothly and by the book. Controlling the number of people who have early access, has the least impact when something does go wrong and gives them time to correct errors before the game really does go live on the 20th. You only get one chance at a launch. If that bombs, all of the fixes, corrections, content additions and game-play advances mean squat because you will never get those people back again. No game has ever came back from a bad launch. They got better, but they were never at the point they could have been if they did it right. IMO, BW is doing this right. Would I like in right now? Absolutely. Is it better to have me wait a while so the game can boast a better launch? Absolutely.
