  1. It seems unlikely they would go through that since it only has limited reason for use. Really if all you are doing is gathering you shouldn't out level him that much. If you just play that much more than him then it wouldn't be a bad idea just to make another character. One you can keep with him and another you don't worry about. If you want the crafting on your main then just give the new character 3 gathering skills. Yes, a sidekick option would be ideal.
  2. I agree it is nice. I also like that it was variable. Feels more like the "punishment fits the crime" that way.
  3. The uneven XP spread. If you started at certain levels/quests even if you were of level you could complete only class quests and be under leveled for the next planet. Some planets rely on side quests a lot more than others. If you started low enough and use all the extra boosts(which shows that some places were still under xp) then you could hit 50 before even getting to Corellia. If I remember right around 34(was well into Taris) and 40-ish(was well into Belsavis) were the hardest to dig myself out of just because where I was in the planet quests by those points and the lack of new XP boost rewards to fill the missing gap from 12x. Once I did It was a close thing to hit 47 by the end of Corellia without side quests. Once you hit 47 you could go to Makeb and hit 55 easy. The mid 20's I had there was more than enough to make it.
  4. That sort of thing is kind of cool the first time, nice the second time, ok the thrid time, a drag the fourth time, plain annoying the 5th time, and "I'm now close to homicidal" the 4,540,654,840,897,089,045,640,894,090th time. Please no. I can skip the "kind of cool" first time so I don't have to deal with every other time.
  5. I think some of the restrictions hurt the game. I think it is more the XP, item restrictions, and nickle and diming things. As someone else said add value to subbing not just pay to remove restrictions on basic things. That would also give value to those of us that do sub. Part of the point of f2p is to keep people playing through times they would normally quit so that they will pay money or more money when they can. If you make the game such a hassle to play why should someone bother? The other fall down is subs. Because once you decide to sub all you are really doing is getting rid of the restrictions. Usually there is more of a point to have subs as well. The little stipend of cartel coins really doesn't do it. Part of the point is subbing is supposed to be getting you free things. It is supposed to pay for those improvements and item updates between Expansions. Except our money goes to paying for new items created to be sold in the cartel market. That is more than a little cheap to do to people paying subs. TLDR Stop with all the F2P restrictions and give some actual value to subbing instead of using our money just to make pay for items.
  6. They've had this problem since beta. The loading hangs on loading certain objects in the environment. For instance there is a light pole on Coruscant(think near the taxi) that hangs loading until it loads and it is one of the last things that loads. Some times the load screen will drop early, but you can't move. There you can watch it finally load that post then you can move. There are other spots, but that is the one that sticks in my mind.
  7. And two years down the road fewer people would have been upset with a nerf. And just like some people are not fine with the Certs some people would still not be fine with slots. Many people didn't even get a chance to get any value at all from the slots. I can more than see why they are upset. Especially when it feels like they gave in only because people where whining due to making less money "because crafting is ruined!!!". In a game where you don't craft, but press a few buttons and have it all done for you while you keep playing the rest of the game. I didn't even buy a slot machine and I'm upset about it because of what it continues to say about the game. [sARCASM]Because watching the devs have fun playing their own game makes everything better.[/sARCASM] I do love some of the streams where they run into issues though. I always think "now you see the junk we have to deal with".
  8. You would have to think about the pre-work involved in something like that. Each piece that can be removed would have to be made in a separate model and each hole that would be created filled with something that wouldn't clip. And they would have to do that for every new item(or all past items if it were to apply to current armors). It is possible because outfits are already build in pieces. However, It doesn't seem likely they would have the time to put to that when they already complain about enough time to do other things. Another thing against that is it cuts down on the number of variants they can try to sell you through cartel if they allowed you to remove pieces or mix match.
  9. People have been asking since beta for animations per form and nothing has happened. That doesn't mean you shouldn't ask, but the state of the game currently is likely the only answer you will get.
  10. Yes and no. A TOS cannot supersede local laws. In the US alone some states say it is binding, only certain items in a TOS can be binding, nothing about accepting a TOS is binding. Especially if they want to do business in a foreign country they are about by that countries laws no matter what they write and you click. That said I don't think the OP has a leg to stand on because most decisions to date have had nothing to do with individual specific items in a game. Especially when said items can change at any given time. I've not seen a law yet that says they are not allowed to make changes at any given time in this type of game. I don't think EAWare handled this well at all, but good luck proving anything they did was actionable.
  11. I wouldn't be on anything as unreliable as EAWare. It would bet like betting on a lame horse with two gun shot wounds because the owner tried to put him down and failed. Its amazing every time the horse even finishes the race.
  12. Companions? Because the free gear is ugly or not right for play style? I mean the free gear is great, but honestly I'll still be using comms to gear my companions at some point. Just lets me get away without it for a little.
  13. Because it ties into their accounting system which is ran through EA/Origin. I'm not saying that it would be impossible for them to create the option, but I doubt it would be in any way cost effective unless they had another reason to do so. Even then I don't think they would give a pay to change option because not many integrated web/billing systems take that kind of option into account. At most it would likely be some kind of one time change required for everyone when moving to a new system(billing or website) that would allow a different display name(which there are many of those).
  14. PvP may not be a focus, but it has had a big impact on the game and many decisions that have been made.
  15. I average around 300k. The most I've had at anyone time is 3mill(bought a white crystal way back when). The thing is if you play the game and want to enjoy some of the money sinks then you are going to stay broke. If you like to play the GTN, are part of a guild that can consistently run OPS/HM/NM/Raid/etc, or don't care about most of the money sinks then you can have a huge supply of credits. I craft, outfit all of my characters and most of my companions, and buy stuff for the Republic side of our guild. What little I have l have left I'm trying to decorate my main Stronghold.
  16. As to the first, yes a guild can buy a stronghold just like individual players. Sadly the guild leader can't use his own cartel coins to buy it. Why my guild still doesn't have the Tat house yet(too steep a price for my guild right now). As to the second I don't know personally as I haven't gotten one yet, but as far as I've heard it doesn't effect how many personal houses you can have.
  17. This: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_tearing? Or do you mean actual bright/white pixels in a horizontal line?
  18. Its been a while, but yeah I've had companions flag me for PvP in the past. The last time was before Christmas and Doc randomly decided he was going to chase down a Empire player. Strangest thing I've ever seen.
  19. You're missing the point that people are still trying to take examples to unreasonable lengths as proof that they shouldn't get in trouble for exploiting the game. All you can really do is ignore their sad attempts to deflect. Maybe they will be one of the people that did it enough to get banned.
  20. All of which still makes me angry they got rid of the legacy move speed increase from beta. They should have kept it and disable it in combat like those. Edit: As to the Legacy unlock itself, I do think it is a bit much to sell for cash something that should have been a normal feature. I can't see how someone would be surprised by this since they do that already with many things in the game.
  21. I think they need to increase the minimum credit to send. I would like to make more off the credit sellers. They need to make it at least 1000(or item as it is now).
  22. That is it. It is the interaction not the mouse move or clicking that is doing it. Your basically clicking a glowie so it counts you as not afk. As you note the difference is the game doesn't notice clicking on the GTN menu as an action so it will afk log you out if you don't move.
