  1. Well people do get their characters back though. Just google or check the tech support forum to see. But generally they don't make a character with the same name after their deleted one, then recovering the old after deleting the new. That's what I'm asking. I mean I know it's probably a stretch but I think it's worth asking and getting a definite answer from someone who's done this or attempted to.
  2. I'm rerolling a character on the same server. Same name. I've gone far enough on the character (level 23) that I may want to get him back. I'm a bit on the fence about this reroll, and may want to revert back to the old one. I'm pretty sure deleted characters can be recovered, right? If so, how long after they were deleted are they available to resurrect? And if the deleted one has been replaced by a character of the same name, would I still be able to do this if I remove the new character? This is really important, thanks. (And sorry if this was supposed to be in customer support. It seems like that's more for existing issues and not hypothetical questions.)
  3. Thanks for the tips. I was hoping to do a lot of quests even in Ord Mandell for LS/DS points. Any ballpark estimates on the number or hours it would take in full efficiency mode? Guess I'm looking for some numbers. The character I'm redoing is lvl 23 and took almost 48 hours /played, but that included a lot of exploring, screenshots, playing with quest options, getting lost, and failed heroic groups. General noob stuff. I was hoping it wouldn't take more than 24 hours /played to get to about lvl 25 this time, but maybe that's wishful thinking?
  4. Well most XP comes from missions anyways right? So I'd still be ahead?
  5. Hi, I am re-rolling a smuggler (scoundrel) and am wondering how I can shave off as much time as possible. How many hours can I expect it to take if I spacebar through stuff and already know where I'm going and what I'm doing? I will have full access to a level 25 friend to help me catch up to his level. He'll be running me through heroics up to Nar Shadda. Will I still get full experience for it in less time? What success have you guys had with grouping with much higher levels? Is there an XP penalty for it? I was also considering grouping with him with regular mobs so I can mow through them to get my quest xp. Has anyone had success with that or does it not save much time? Thanks.
  6. I think WoW was even worse in this respect. Almost all forest trees were giant sequoias on steroids. Cobblestones or tiles on the floors would be the sizes of bed mattresses, and many archways would be a couple stories tall for no explainable reason. I really do like the bigness in this game though, because the Star Wars franchise is fundamentally "larger than life." Also, the spread-out nature of the NPC's of cantinas is a shame, but the engine can only handle so many players in a given square footage at one time, so it makes sense to spread out. I don't know how much this applies to NPC's but they do take up a lot of geometry all the same, so I can see why they wouldn't want to make a smaller, denser cantina.
  7. Glad I found this thread. Was going to make one very much like it, actually. As a level 22 scrapper-spec'd Scoundrel, I tried out PVP and got eaten alive. I think part of it was the apparent Imperial-Republic imbalance (we didn't win a single game I played and there always seemed to be more red lightsabers at one time than total republic players in a given area). But mostly it's that fighting "in the fray" meant a few second death sentence for me. A few times, I was able to hold my own against a single target, but PVP is very cluster-based, and it seemed very rare to find an Imperial all alone. That said, I'm sure some of my targets had great gear (too busy to look, lol) but still, I had been expecting more noticeable burst damage out of stealth. Also, one thing I noticed was that in the endgame scoreboards, there weren't any other smugglers! Kind of... disconcerting.
  8. I mean, when I'm doing a 4-man flashpoint/heroic, there's no room for my companion. But my groupmates are still expecting good crowd control. This is about PVE events not soloing mobs in world.
  9. (FYI - I'm only level 21) Just having some problems controlling multiple, weak adds in flashpoints as a scrapper-spec'd scoundrel without Corso. Taking down a bunch of weak things is easy with my companion - Corso uses his AOE and generally takes aggro. I use my thermal grenade and pick them off with back blast and the like while it's on cooldown. Without my companion to gather multiple targets, I run into trouble. I use my thermal grenade to try to get them to attack me instead of the healer, but it doesn't seem to generate enough threat (as in, the ones that weren't my primary target keep attacking the healer, not me). My only other option for controlling a group like that seems to be flash grenade, but the cooldown is too high. I feel like there's something missing. Any tips?
  10. I see, was a little hazy on what hard mode applied to. Guess we all just need to L2P Thanks.
  11. Hi, Just got done with a failed Hammer Station run. We were lvls 21-23 so it should've been easy. It pretty much was until we got to the last boss, Battlelord Kreshan. 3 of us had run it before (separately, not as this group), no problem, but this time it seemed impossible. I had a theory that hard mode was switched on somehow. (One lvl 21 was getting a glitch message every once in awhile saying that he couldn't enter the flashpoint since the level was too high or something.) I'm new to this game and haven't run many instances, so maybe me and/or my group just need to L2P. I'm going to try it in a different group, but I'm also curious to know if this has happened before.

  13. First I want to say I'm a low level. Around 20. Also, this it the first time I've ever played an energy-based class. My spec is scrapper. Doing heroics, I notice the following: I can do great damage in trash mob fights, popping my grenades, and using back blast and blaster whip as often as possible. But in longer fights and especially bosses, I tend to run out of energy midfight, even after using my Cool head and Pugnacity, so I'm stuck with flurry of bolts until I slowly get enough to do another move. So... should I be pacing myself and interspersing my special moves with blaster fire from the start? I heard somewhere that you should be keeping your energy at 60%. That seemed really high to me so I ignored it. Though it seems like energy does restore faster if you have more, but I dunno. Also, are some moves simply not worth the energy for a scrapper? It seems like charged shot is an energy hog so I've stopped using it. Thanks, Stenrik
  14. Hey I know there's no way to totally customize your character after creation yet, but if BW wants to take small steps, how about a way to add scars to your character later on? From a roleplay standpoint, I've interpreted my progression like this: I'm a new smuggler who hasn't seen much action yet, so it makes sense that I don't want to be scarred until after I've done all the battle it takes to reach higher levels. I would also like to choose to get a scar after a pivotal point in my storyline. Adding scars could be free (from a reality standpoint, who would pay to be scarred? lol), but removing them could cost credits. That way it doesn't get abused by people always changing their look. Anyone with me here? (By the way I'm also for re-customizing total appearance, just trying to suggest something less drastic for now)
