  1. Either half the cast and cool down times of ambush or significantly raise the damage and defense penetration on it. Ambush is supposed to be a "big money attack" for snipers yet we are dissuaded from using it in most cases due to long cast times (referring to the base tooltip time) and the low payoff of damage after said waiting. Not to mention the giant advertisement symbol placed on the targeted player which allows for easy negation of this attack by simply running out of range or stepping behind a post (its not like this pulls you out of combat for a long time and really nothing more than a mild inconvenience to the targeted player). Slightly lower cast time of snipe ( this Is sometimes instant but not always) It is decent moderate damage attack would be good if it could be used a bit more often Allow series of shots to be used outside of cover (as well as in of course) With so many ways to knock a sniper out of cover snipers need a means to inflict some damage when out of cover. This is purely a defensive concern being out of cover shouldn't render us without real damage dealing options Fix cover pulse (fails me about 50% of the time) and give it a longer root Says it all it should work when I click it not simply give a puff of smoke visual effect. The root is a bit short, its not like we have a speed buff so we are not going to use cover pulse and run away. Run speed as you know is highly reduced while in combat. Fix entrench I shouldn't be able to be knocked back with it up Cant count how many times I have been pushed out of cover with entrench up. Some people say it never fails them, I am happy for them but this needs to work the same for every paying customer. Or I want some explanation from BW as to why this is happening. Increase damage mitigation of cover Make cover worthwhile not a limitation! The most popular PvP spec now is lethality which allows for the least use of cover! Snipers are strategizing ways to not have to use the core mechanic of the class! Doesn't this tell you it is not implemented properly! Cover is a dread state of sitting duckitude with an added problem of a giant neon sign that says "HERE I AM PLEASE KILL ME!", make getting into cover at least somewhat palatable! Come on you can do that! Increase range to 45m Really if we have to stay totally still to shoot anything and folks can simply run out of range or turn a corner to avoid it least you could do is increase the range. You can give this extended range only on some attacks. 35m is what five more than what most classes get? What's that 3 or 4 steps?
  2. None of what you mentioned is analogous to stealthing out of trouble. The above mentioned situations dont remove those players entirely and totally from harm. When you disappear out of combat (while under the condition of combat) your enemy can no longer attack you and you can not be targeted. The skills above afford no such luxury to the players using them. I have seen many assassin types in various MMOs stealth being disabled while in combat is pretty common actually.
  3. I got ya... but I think with the bazillions of dollars in this thing they ought to be able to multi-task improvements. The fact that the spec that allows you to stay out of cover longer is the most popular and effective speaks to this like nothing else..... .......LOL, failed implementation.
  4. Damage levels really are not a good indicator of a class's qualities...I don't get the "high damage in WZ so must be good" thing. It is meaningless. And for having to sit stationary with a big KILL ME sign in front of them to use most of their abilities..their defense isn't commensurate with having endure that limitation.
  5. The issue I have with the idea of increasing mobility with a certain spec etc. is while it may open some doors. The goal should not be trying to find ways to avoid using cover. Shouldn't cover offer a benefit that makes me want to use it? When I have to drop down into cover it sucks, it really only adds a limitation not a benefit and the idea that lethality is the way to go is based on the fact that it gives you more ways to avoid having to use cover. Which really shouldn't be the goal if this mechanic were implemented properly. Snipers should want to use cover and it is a shame that good strategy revolves around ways to avoid it. Cover is the core mechanic of the class, if most snipers are trying to find a a way out of it..then the mechanic is not well implemented and needs improvement.

  7. But the argument "if left alone" is not strong because this holds true for anyone. If you are not attacked of course you are going to do well anyone would.

Thats the issue it is supposed to be a "big money attack" for snipers yet we are dissuaded from using it in most cases due to long cast times (which you wait until you have changed via the conditions you mentioned) and the low payoff of damage after said waiting.... It should be a brutal attack...it takes (under most circumstances) long enough to cast..it should be stronger. Or lower the cast time (tooltipped base) and keep the damage as is. The other thing is that admittedly you say, as we all know, being in cover is not a good place to be! It should be so! Give cover more benefit!

According to the tooltip it says 2.42 seconds....meeting specific conditions doesn't happen every single time I am talking about the cast time which is common and prevalent..not occasional triggered conditions that reduce it. Tooltip reads..2.42 unless 100% of your ambushes are at 1.5 secs......

The above diatribe..is really hard to read as it's construction is really poor..but what I got was "I was talking to such and such and HE says..." I mean really...really? Grandstanding..and nonsense...

Stealth itself isn't necessarily OP (I think it is bad design though and purely a PvE construct that should never have made it's way into PvP) Being able to vanish out of a bad situation and escape death..is OP though and allows some players to avert all risk in confrontation. Stealth should be disabled when combat is entered.(like a lot of other MMOs).

  20. Thats a good point...maybe reduce energy cost to compensate? A player has time to sit and drink tea though when the ambush sign pops on them..it just takes too long.
