  1. I don't know what "Disparity" you are talking about. If you're a good pilot, you can defeat a fully upgraded ship in a stock one. This is a skill based team system, and upgrades give slight advantages. If you're a smart flier, you're fine. Also, converting your Ship Req to Fleet Req is a waste of coin if you just spend the time to gain it through Dailies and Weeklies. People who do it are impatient and/or don't have time to grind. So they unlock a ship before you? Big deal. How is it pay to win?
  2. I'm the same way. I only use the Sab Probe. It isn't a missile. Its not designed to kill your opponent (Although, I have finished a few off with it ), but it helps to keep that slippery bugger in line for you to blast at leisure.
  3. I think the bright mist that surrounds them is enough. A noise would be to much, and make them stick out like a sore thumb, in essence destroying their viability as a Sniper. Just see my above post for tips on avoiding being the Sniped.
  4. Communicate with teammates, recognize players who routinely use them, and use tab to cycle through the various enemies close to you. Also, look for the bright glowing mist that surrounds them when they charge their guns. Upgrade your survivability (Defense, Shields, Damage Reduction, Evasion ect ect.) as this will prevent the One Hit kills on you. Also, use cover, don't fly in a straight line, and be aware of your surroundings. Always assume a Sniper has you in their sights.
  5. EO/KoA's 2nd Birthday is coming up! Its a great time to join us! We've also got a TeamSpeak 3 server now, no more Ventrilo for us! Overwolf is awesome
  6. This is true. I use the Laser Cannon (Not the Rapid or Light versions). It is a little slower and drains much faster, but you hit so much harder. Combine that with Sabotage Drones, and your target is going to be hurting. Of course, it is best to upgrade the Laser too, helps with damage and range! Also, I don't have any issues with ammo. Make sure you utilize your crew to the best you can! I have a passive ability called Spare Ammo and another that affects my Ammo reload time. They help alot.
  7. For me, I fly a Blackbolt. Gunships can hit me hard, if I let them. Basically it comes down to what everyone else has mentioned. For Scouts (As I don't fly Strikers): -Don't fly in a straight line. -Use quick short bursts of speed, and force the Gunship to move (So it isn't able to snipe). This isn't a loss, you are preventing the Gunship from sniping your fellow pilots (Remember, this is a team game, not a lone wolf game), and allowing them to fly unharassed by the long range Railguns. -While pursuing them, SHOOT at them! Obviously, when they are dead, you can return to the dogfighting! I personally like to use Sab Drones to prevent them from escaping me. -USE your maneuverability. Upgrade your turning speed, and always make use of spirals, dives, and your engine ability. Don't sit in one place, and DON'T Fly in a straight line (Get the point? That's important)! -Close Range. Gunships whole thing is to sit back, and snipe at you from 15km away. Zip in there and force him out of sniping mode! Its hard to track you when your 5-1km away. The sniper mode is very slow to turn at such close range. -Make use of your blasters to wear out the shielding, and always get a lock to fire away your missile/Sab Drone. Rocket Pods are dangerous to use, because you need to be flying straight to hit... And the Gunship needs to be stationary. They are only really good if you catch one off guard trying to snipe someone. I know alot of those tips are repetitive, but the repeated tips are vital to understand if you are going to win against a Gunship. They can hit HARD with those Railguns, but you can win. Of course, if you don't know the Gunship is there, they are already winning, so make sure to look for them! Just be sure the fight is on your terms, close range, and moving! That is the scouts role!
  8. These are some true words right here. Nemarus is absolutely 100% right that EVERYONE should give Starfighter a chance. It is unbelievably fun, and new. It gives SWTOR a big breath of fresh air and can break up monotonous Daily Grinds. GSF Is really a good time for anyone. PvPer/PvEr doesn't matter. You give it a shot and I think most of you will enjoy it to some extent .
  9. I knew I didn't dream up that response lol. Thanks for the update! That is exactly what they told me at the NYC Tour .
  10. Its called Suspended Belief. Does anyone question how you never actually are killed even when you jump into the bottomless pits on the fleets? When you jump off, you respawn and continue with your day like nothing happened. When your Que pops, you go into space, and come back like nothing happened lol.
  11. BW already confirmed that Chat Bubbles will be coming out, when the issue is resolved. The issue with Nameplates was the same, and it was fixed for the majority of players. Note, Majority. People will always have problems with some part of the game, but it doesn't mean BW turns that part off just because the minority can't use it. So, Bubbles will be here at some point, and not in the too distant future. Of course with the ability to toggle them off for those who think it causes lag, or those who it actually does cause lag for.
  12. It does kill you if you go below the fog.
  13. Thanks for the Reference Luni! Yes, Esoteric Order would welcome such a character if you were inclined to serve Darth Shade, (Who is fiercely loyal to the Empire). We welcome Dark and Light sided Sith, as well as Agents, Soldiers, and "Mercenaries" (Drall as they may be ). You can look us up @ Esoteric Order/Knights of Atonement.
  14. This is something that would be difficult for them from a graphical standpoint. I asked them in person. It would be easier for them to do something like this with Lightsaber wielding classes, but Tech users are at some disadvantage on a technical level. Doesn't make much sense to me, but that is why we don't already have these options.
  15. Class stories are one of the most expensive things for them to make according to the questions asked at the NYCCT. I was pretty much told that the Story moving forward would be in line with Makeb style storytelling. Put Characters A and B in the same situation and have them reach the end result in different ways. I don't think we will see individual class stories like 1-50 anytime soon. I'd like to see them continue as well, but I just got the feeling they weren't trying to spend that cash to make that happen in the same way.
  16. We are indeed! Our Republic side is growing fast, and we welcome all Jedi and Republic citizens in our Knights of Atonement Ranks! Just stop by the site and drop an application off. One of our Officers will meet with you IG and we'll invite you .
  17. I'd like to see the Emotes where NPC's are "Holding" another NPC in some sort of "Dark Stasis" where the target NPC is Floating. Now I DO NOT want the emote to affect targets, I just want the stance. I'd also like to see the "floating" part of that as a separate emote, with the purple mist and smoke floating around you as you're lifelessly suspended in the air .
  18. I would love to see an official "recap" as well, but the way that the event goes down, the only real thing they could officially post would be the Q&A. That is mostly due to the fact that the majority of the questions I personally asked were privately asked (With drinks in hand mind you ) with the various dev's in attendance.
  19. I have an unofficial recap of the cantina tour in NYC if you guys are interested in reading it. EO/KoA Public NYC Cantina Tour Recap. Like I said, it isn't official or anything. Just what I got in my notes and my discussion with the various people around.
  20. Because it isn't "fair" was the response to that same question. They don't want to hear the raging of all the Blaster Users. Besides, most people wouldn't understand why it is more difficult for Tech users vs Force users to swap weapon styles.
  21. I've got a French Canadian in my Republic arm of the Guild . She's awesome.
  22. ((I Know Necro and all, but I hate to see this concept die!)) Rumor: A new company has emerged on Tatooine called Krayt Sands Corporation. There is talk that Darth Shade is connected to them, but no one knows for sure how. Perhaps KSC's services are valuable? Their holo-ads sure look promising.
  23. Well like Luni said, the best thing to try would be to Screen Cap and send the Guildmaster the proof of immature behavior. However, like you said, not all Guildmasters are as mature themselves as others, so I can see your issue. I'd say that if they are really doing something bad, and their GM won't take responsibility for it, report those involved and ignore them. If the trolls are not fed, they will starve. Ignoring the behavior doesn't fix the problem, but it can help curb the amount that goes on. If people see that they aren't getting a rise out of the population, they will tend to stop doing that sort of thing out of pure boredom.
