(Anything in this post is opinion only. Do not take anything I say for fact unless cited as such )
Alright, so I see so much negativity on the forums, which is not uncommon in almost all MMOs. Why is this? Becuase only a SMALL fraction of people that actually play the game, visit the forums.
This causes great games to be ruled by the "elite few" who see themselves as helping the game, when in actuality they are helping destroy the game. Even when they have the best intentions. No player (especially at this point) knows more than the developers.
People will cry and complain about everything. When they ask for a change, and its changed, they will cry that they want it the old way again. When they get the old way back, they will cry and say they want a different way. Its just how it goes.
So, to try and help keep the game from falling down the same path that other games have fallen down, (In my own experience Star Wars Galaxies, but not limited to just that) I am saying what a lot of you already know.
Most people are in-game enjoying the hell out of it, and rarely ever come to the forums to post or read them. Its just how it is. Very few of these people who suggest anything know what they are talking about, and only want what they know from other MMOs introduced here.
SWTOR is its own MMO, and should not have to "conform" to others before it.
TL;DR
The forums are full of the vocal minority. These are the people that give the devs feedback, and in essence, are responsible for any bad (and sometimes good) changes done to SWTOR.
Also:
I'm not trying to offend anyone. Should someone feel offended, I apologize. I'm just trying do the exact same thing most of you do: Help make the game a better place. (And possibly have an intelligent discussion about this topic in the process.)
