  1. All I'm saying is that offering character transfers from one dead server to another to raise population is rediculous. because they have to keep the other server running for those who left and plan to return in a future date. If they simply did a server merge, then all characters where transfered and no one was left behind. What they are doing right now would have been better off as just doing a server merge, this whole thing of "FREE" character transfers from one server to a predetermined destination is a mask, a fiasco. Mainly because I already have toons on another server but they won't let me move over there to be with my other toons and guild. so it's not really a transfer, it's a merge for select players while everyone else gets left behind. Sorry if it's not making sence to you but it's a joke. If they are only letting this one server transfer to this other server and no where else, they should have just merged the two god damn things and gotten it over with!

    UR/GBF hack?

The fact that 4 to 5 people jump on this one guy and can't take him down within 10 seconds SCREAMS class imbalance. I know that's not what the thread is about but it's annoying when I last 2 seconds when I have three on me (a sage).
  3. on my dps sage I GET hit for that all the time but I have never been able to hit for that much and I am full battlemaster geared with one piece warhero
  4. What doesn't make sence is the way they are doing the server transfer. It's stupid. They are telling you, look, your in this server, it's a dead server, I'm gonna give you a free transfer if you want to this other server to raise the population over there. If you stay, you'll have even less people to play with, it will be even more dead then it was before. Wouldn't it have been easier to just say, "server merge" or is this there way of saying, look, at least we are trying to fix it with FREE* transfer's...but don't read the smallprint on the free part.
  5. Your pulling 400k to 500k damage in pvp on a 1v1 with no area effects?!?!?!?! I call ******** on that one. Sages spend to much time either healing themselves or running away, or trying to kit, or just running back from the spawn point to the battle to do that kind of damage on a 1v1. if you say 200k i'd believe. And there isn't that much of a difference playing scoundrel and sage, they are both range classes, just one is much more viable in pvp then the other.
  6. I played my sage all the way to 50 and she's in full BM. After 1.2 the damage we deal is laughable compaired to classes that shouldn't do half the dps we do because they are suppose to be tanks. I rerolled a shadow and a scoundrel and my shadow which is not level 50, takes down enemies alot easier then my sage ever did. He even hits harder then my sage. The scoundrel is the same, I have more utility, more stuns/roots and definately better damage then my sage. Not only that but I'm using medium armor. My defense is better and my dps is better then my sage. Because of the light armor the sage is suppose to have the best dps in the game, but it has the worse, and that's a fact. All you people that claim you do 500k per match are not stating one fact, all that damage is area effect damage, not direct damage. There is a big difference there, because you don't kill someone attacking you with area effect damage, you use direct damage because area effect damage is a laughable 400 points of damage per hit (Using force quake because it doesn't have a cooldown so you can spam it and doesn't have a timer but it is channeled which means your stationary for open for attacks). Like most of the sages spells, stationary low dps spells suck. If they where high damage then it's another story. the scoundrels stationary attacks are more damaging then the sages, while the scoundrels main attack while moving does the same damage as pebbles for sages which is stationary for sages. If you can't admit that sages are broken then you must be playing a different game or you know nothing about game balance like Bioware obviously doesn't.. Hell last night I thought about playing my sage, first warzone an op stealthed behind me, stuned me, did 3k damage, I hit our force push, my characater jumped into the air and then... she FELL FLAT ON HER FACE to the floor, where she stayed for the remaining 3 seconds it took the op to kill her. Not once did I have a chance to defend or attack. yup, sages are fine, sages are GREAT.......at being target dummies!
  7. oh, can I be a mindless whiner? We need to buff sage damage! you think it will work?
  8. Yea, lately I have been seeing more people cheating. It wasn't that bad a couple of months ago but now I see, in every hutball, one or two people using a speed hack. They have the ball and you see them running from center to goal line at the same speed as everyone else running with him. Sorry, but force speed doesn't last that long and last time I checked, non force users didn't even have force speed. I don't play those classes so don't quote me on it but I'm sure they don't have it. Either way, for them to run from center, around and up and all the way to goal line at normal speed like everyone else...it's cheating. If you go to youtube and do a search you'll even see video of people cheating after 1.2 with the speedhack. Last night I had one guy that I had down to like 10% health and all of a sudden he poped up to 100 percent health, and no, the warzone wasn't finished yet. That was the first time I experienced that cheat.
  9. Are you saying you can do 600-650k 'burn damage' which is 1v1 damage on a sage? Once again, I call ********! you do that with area effects, your confusing DPS with the stupid total numbers at the end of the match, those are two completely different things, don't confuse them or asume they are the same, that is not your true 1v1 dps output as the Marauder's is because they do not have area effects. If you want to compaire numbers then parse the damage for both classes on a simulation dummy and see what the dps comes out to for x amount of time. You may believe that's a cookie cutter view but that's the view that has always worked for every MMO out in the market, it's the balanced view and the correct way of doing balancing. And the fact that you said "selfhealing" proves that your high damage is because of your area effecting, that's the only reason you get high numbers. Go one game doing 1v1, you won't last long, you won't kill **** and you won't be on the top! I'm not complaining about area effects, they are useful tools, but we should not be relying on that for our numbers. And last I checked, area effects wasn't saving us from other classes that are range as well, and STILL do more DPS then us, just like you mentioned Sniper's. I love your idea of evolution, 'no, let's not have balanced gameplay, lets have a class that is weak, an easy kill, the readheaded stepchild that we can trample on in every pvp match. "Hey Joe, did you bring the vasaline? Vasaline? hell nah, that's a sage/sorc, no need for it, their used to it already!"' Great 'evolution', in the wrong direction. Yes, playing with no tree is also playable. So now you admit that sage/sorc do not have the burst DPS they are suppose to have which is why you suggest for us to go Sniper. Well, there is a problem with that, I have invested alot of time into my character and would like to have that character fixed so he can be a viable oponent in PvP. Besides, starting a new class doesn't solve the imbalance issue at hand, just like you spreading your lies doesn't help. ummm, did I miss something here? Didn't you just admit that our dps tree, the lightning/tele tree, was not viable? hmmm, let me check..... yup, it does sound like you said it was not viable, playable though, which i agree playing any class with no points in tree's is playable...but like you said, not viable So why are we the only 'dps' class, that CAN'T 1v1????? Especially when you said.... So you can focus burn down your targets with the balance tree, not our burn tree spec, and you can 1v1 effeciently with no problem...hmmm Wait a minute, didn't you just say that we wheren't a 1v1 class? Honestly, you need to make up your mind here. Are we are are we not a 1v1 class? No offence taken, after all, this is only just a game we're talking about. However, if mine was weak, what does that make yours when your are contradicting yourself? /shrug
  10. Sorry, but I cannot believe that you have a 50 sorc/sage. Flat out don't believe it. Your complaining that on your marauder the dps was just ok or on par with sorc/sage at 400k dps? You are aware that your talking about a Maurader, who's damage is all 1v1, doing 400k damage while sage/sorc is doing, according to your post, 300k damage and that's using area effect damage, not 1v1. So you are aware that because the marauder is only dealing damage to one opponent compaired to a sage which is doing damage to multiple opponents, your dealing alot more damage overall because 1v1 damage is much more effective at removing enemies from the field then area effect damage is, area effect is only useful for keeping enemies from planting/capping. If that sage was to focus fire on just one apponent like you do, he will get half of what you get. And last I checked, area effect's don't help you peel enemies off of you and doesn't kill the enemy faster, if anything it's slower because it's smaller damage just focused out over several people. If anything on this post you confirmed that Sorc/sage are underpowered in 1v1 combat while marauders are doing to much damage since a dps sorc/sage should 'technically', and in past mmo's that "class" (caster) should always have the best DPS because we have the worse armor class. As a Marauder with medium armor, you should have better tanking abilities then us, which you do, and should be doing half the dps we can do on a 1v1, which is quite the oposite as it is now. If you ever played EQ, think of it this way, a caster, wizard, up against a DPS melee, such as a ranger, rogue. Wizard does insane damage while melee tries to reach him, but once he gets reached then the caster is out of luck. In theory, what the caster looses in AC, the melee gains in armor, so by the time the melee reaches the caster, he's only down to half health, which is fine because now that caster has to deal with interupts and a melee wailing down on him and the caster's ac being as poor as it is, his HP will drop twice as fast as the melee's hp's. You see? it balances itself out. However, in this game it's not properly balanced. And anyone that actually plays the class would understand that. Which is why I call ******** on your post of making a level 50 sage. If you did you wouldn't be talking garbage about sage's being fine, cause we're not!
  11. And yet another post of someone under 50 that doesn't understand that once you hit 50, that Op you where delaying for 20 seconds, at level 50, will crush you in 6 seconds if he knows how to play his class. I have seen and been victom of an op stunning me long enough where he killed me while I was permastunned, unable to move or retaliate in that short time where he destroyed my toon with over 1200 expertise. Pre50 has no comparison to the unbalanced pvp of the 50 pvp zones. I remember my sage in 48 and 49, I felt like a god, then came 50 and even now with full battlemaster gear I still feel like the group ***** that everyone jumps on because its easy to take me down. And it's not a L2P ******** that keeps on spewing out of people's mouths, get your sage to 50 then come back and say you have no problem kiting someone around for 20 seconds. Hell, it took the guy in the video 50 to 54 seconds for the first and second kill in the video. On top of that, the sentinel wasn't even that good, he's snared and running snared towards your opponent who is casting slow on you, sorry, but if your slowed and force leap isn't up yet, you move out of his range which is easy to do since the sage has to stop for 1.5 to 3 seconds in order to cast anything effective except for pebble, if the force leap pops back up then you move back into his range to use the force leap, what that sentinel was doing is like seeing an enemy's area effect circle on the ground and running towards it to get hit. If the sentinel would have played smarter then the fight would have been dragged out way longer then 1 minute and the sentinel would have won more then just half of the battles like the original poster of the video said.
  12. Are you really that dense? Warzones you have little to no room for kiting. Look at how much ground he had to cover to kill one person. Now put him in a warzone where the enemy see's a sage and say's 'oh, easy kill'. Do you really think you'll be at a one on one with him? No, other enemies will be attacking you as well. The only time you have a one on one is when your guarding a turret or door and even then one of the two sides get's reinforcements, normally the enemy side which double up on you. Not only that but in a warzone you DON"T want to kit around like that if your guarding a door. You need to remain near that door or near that turret to keep anyone stealthed from capping/planting. I am not saying it's a good idea to leave a sage/sorc guarding but you know how it is, if your the last one off the platform/door, your the guard. Or are you encouraging people to leave the door/turret in order to do that 1v1 kill far away from everyone else? if so, that doesn't make you much of a team player, or wanting to win for that matter.
  13. Sorry, I stopped reading here. I mean no disrespect but you can't compare your sage at level 48 to level 50 gameplay. At level 50 you can't "live in the bubble". You cast the bubble on yourself and your teammates, but in the 50's all the other classes are hitting so hard that many times, they break the bubble in one shot and I still take some damage. In the RARE cases when my bubble doesn't come down in one shot is because I'm up against another sage/sorc since we don't hit that hard. When you hit 50 you'll understand what I mean. Think of a pillow fight, where sage/sorc are the dumb ones that actually bring pillows, everyone else brings bricks, bats, sledge hammers, ect. Then everyone say's learn to play, you have to kite, easy for them to say when pratically ALL of our spells require us to stand still for 1.5 to 3 seconds cast. Then they say, learn to play, you have to use force run, so I use force run just so the enemy can either root me down as he jumps at me, or they stun me, effectively stopping my 'running away', which by the way is oh so much fun! I use to love level 48 and 49, I felt godly until I was hit with the ugly reality of level 50 pvp. It almost feels like at level 50 all other classes get a superhero buff in their damage while the redheaded stepchild (sage/sorc) was left out of the buff. And sage more then sorc because of our stupid animation delays. Again, nothing personal to you, it's just a different game at 50, that expertise makes one hell of a big deal.
  14. I know this wasn't aimed at me, and as healer, since I personally have not played a seer, am not sure of the answer. However, as a DPS sage, this is possible to do but the sentinel and the sage have to be on the same page. Bubble myself, Bubble sentinel, start battle, snare maurauder, stun healer and pray he uses his CC to break stun, meanwhile sentinel should be after marauder keeping him off of me. once Op uses his CC, which you have to pray that he does, you then use force lift on him to keep in at bay just long enough for you to heal and help dps the maurader down, by the time the maurader is down force lift should have ended and you can then attack the Ops healer. However, any 'good' player would know that force lift is coming after the stun, so they won't use the cc for a short timed stun. So if he's a good player, then they will rip us a new ******e
  15. I was going to answer this with details as to cast times and stuff but everyone else preatty much answered your reply. I'll just make this simple. Those two casts your talking about doesn't hit 1 person for that much unless that person has NO GEAR. even then I seriously doubt it will do that much damage to one person. either way, my point is while you claim I can "burst" damage with two attacks which are NOT instant, they have cast times on them and have prerequisites in order for them to be instant cast, ALL OTHER classes are doing that kind of damage in ONE attack, while it takes two (according to you) for me to do. Meanwhile their attack is on a single timer or is instant while mine is on a longer cast timer and is normally interupted because of the animation giveaway unless we are lucky to get the proc for the instant cast. My point still stands, even with your wrong analysis, Burst isn't 8k damage in two attacks, burst is like everyone else who does 6k damage in one attack with no casting time or very little, uninteruptable casting time. So while I do 8K (which I am still calling ******** on), they are doing 16k, on a sage that has 15k hitpoints. Thank you, play the class before you talk.
  16. My biggest problem with all of this is the feeling that BW/Ohlen believes that sage's should ONLY be healers. I'm a DPS speced Sage. In EQ1 and 2 I would play a wizard, in shooters I would play a sniper, i like the long range attack. A sage should be like a wizard, which are high damage, should be the hardest hitters of all classes, but the weakest when attacked. Right now, the DPS sages are the softest hitters and the weakest of all classes. And it seems we are this way because BW believes we shouldn't be doing DPS but we should be healing? If this is the case then why the **** do they give us a tele and balance tree? It almost feels like the DPS sages have to wear a crutch because of the healers. I'm getting pounded on for 4 to 6k in full BM gear while all I can dish out is 1.5 to 2.5k? The only reason we hit large numbers at the end of the warzone is because of our area effect's, and because people see those large numbers they jump to conclusions. But last time I checked, it wasn't area effects that killed your opponent, it's the 1v1 burst damage which sages are missing and they are suppose to have because of their class. And as for the large heal, IF, and that's a big IF, you can ever get it to cast because your constantly being interupted and it fails because it's to long of a cast timer on it, it normally heals you for half of what got dished out to you in one shot! It's just upseting to see everytime someone says "sage" everyone thinks Healer. Not every Sage is a Seer (Healer), some Sages are just that, Sages (DPS). And it seems like even BW can't seem to wrap their minds around that concept, it's almost as if they only want sages to heal and nothing else.
  17. I don't know what class you play, but why does a sage HAVE to be a healer? I play a sage, and I'm not a healer, I'm a DPS speced sage. As such, I should be able to 1 vs 1 against a Sentinel. I have always played wizards or some sort of caster (in shooters I'd be a sniper normally) in all the other games I've played, and as a caster your suppose to hit harder then melee classes because of the armor discrepency. But in this game it's the opposite, the melee have the armor and the damage while the casters have a joke. I'm in full BM gear and I get hit costantly for 3k-5k damage. Meanwhile as a DPS speced sage, the hardest I have ever hit is 2500. What good is my bubble which defends me from 3300 points when i'm getting hit for 4k? I'm still taking damage on the first shot with bubble up! We have a joke for defense and we are a joke for offense. When a Sentinel or BH who loves to spam those *********** missles at you, we last normally 4 hits, just long enough to say, "oh ****, where is he can I can run the oppos...........................****, now to run back!"
  18. Seriously, lets be honest here. Do you really think he plays this game? After spending an entire day looking at source codes for this game, design concepts for this game, and doing whatever he does on the back end for this game, the last thing on his mind is actually playing the game. He knows how each class is suppose to be working on paper, on a graph on his screen, and that's about it. That's where he gets his information from. He doesn't play this game, he probably doesn't even like the star wars universe and thinks that vader is an ewok.

    PvP needs more PvP

I know what you mean about objective vs. fun as well. Sometimes I wish, and some people that know the game might think i'm silly, but sometimes I wish they made pvp in this game like the old delta force PvP matches. For those who never played Delta force in the PvP mode, they had large maps, and the warzones where either 16, 32, or 64 player based. The 64 player based ones where the funnest and they where ranked as well. but instead of objectives, the win goes to the team with the highest kill ratio if you played in teams. if you played solo then it's just a rankings warzone. But I think it would be cool to see 32 reb's fighting against 32 imp's in one warzone, like a real warzone, everyone trying to kill eveyone instead of trying to cap a turret or something.
  20. at end game we are not feared, nor are we a dps machine. Sages are known as the 'easy kill'. we are good as a support class, as a healer class, but not straight up 1v1 dps like some other classes. When you do see a sage with some impressive dps numbers at the end of the pvp match it's because they where most likely area effecting a node/door/bomb ect. area effects is where those large numbers come from because your hitting 5 targets at a time instead of one target. however, your kill ratio 1v1 will always remain the same, Slim to none. That's my take on a hybrid sage
  21. You see, this person plays a sage, and you can tell. and normally the big numbers people see at the end of the battle is not one on one direct damage numbers, it's large number coming from this: "using Quake to stop the turning of a node" When I turn big number is because I'm using all of my area effect's either protecting that bomb/keeping enemies from planting a bomb/or taking a turret. Dots don't give those numbers, our area effects do, and our area effects don't take down players, they are only there as a tool to defend objetives.
  22. right.....Just reading this part is obvious to anyone that plays a sage that you obviously do NOT have a sage/sorc and are just BSing because you don't want anyone more powerful then your own class. We cannot run doting, our main dot is on a two second cast. the only dot that is not on a two second cast timer is PITA for damage. Our dots are an anoyance only, never enough to take them down much in health since it does less damage then a combat attack heal can heal. It is very hard to properly manage distance in this game with all the stuns and pulls and leaps in the game, normally when you hit force run to get that distanced your either pulled back, stunned or leaped towards with an attack. Two slows? I know of one slow that we have that lasts 8 seconds. are you counting pebbles as a slow? because its not a very viable slow since your oponent will normally reach you before your done channeling that slow because you have to stop to do it, that's why it's called Channeling, and if you know pvp then you know that STOP=DEAD and everything a sage has to do, they have to STOP to do it except for one slow, one DD, and one pitiful Dot that does NOT stack with our main dot. 3 ranged stuns? We have one stun like everyone else. Force lift doesn't stun in PvP from what I have seen, in PvE it stuns for two seconds unless you do damage, and the third stun I am thinking is if you are full balanced? which not many people are???? Fast knockback? the sages are plagued with animation delays that hurt our abilities. When I hit my "knockback" which is suppose to be instant, the oponent see's the animation and uses their knockback which has no animation delay which in turns nulifies my knockback. Which means I used up a knockback that didn't knockback anyone because of the stupid animation delay. This has happened countless times. Or I run in front of someone with the ball in hutball, hit my knockback, by the time the animation is done my toon ends up pushing the enemy closer to the goal line. yea, great knockback we got there, and mind you, it's suppose to be instant! And finally, my favorite line which makes everyone realize you do not have a sage or a sorc. "You can dot any ranged class and run away to los starting healing watching him dying" Riiiigggghhhhtttttttttttttt.......Our two dots don't stack (i'm a hybrid sage and I only have two dots which do not stack). and honestly, the damage our main dot does, is NO WHERE near enough to kill any class. oh wait, you said any ranged class, like a sorc???? yea right, I forgot, they will just clense it and remove the dot....try again. and while we heal? really???two second casting time which is almost ALWAYS interupted and if your targted while your healing, your normally dead before you can get a heal off. Honestly, I'd like to hand you a napkin...so you can whipe your mouth off cause your talking ****! Play the class before you try to get them nerfed so it actually sounds like you know what the hell your talking about.
  23. The worste part of the OP's post, is the fact that he actually took the time to write such a long post of misinformation in an attempt to nerf a class which is already considered by all as the 'easy kill', the only class which normally are the first ones targeted in a pvp warzone because of the 'easy kill'. For everything sages do, we have to STOP in order to do it with the exception of one Direct Damage spell and one useless dot which barely does damage and doesn't stack with our better dot which is on a 2 second cast time. All other spells we have we have to STOP in order to cast it, which means interupts, and death. In PvP, you do not want to stop, you want to be moving around, not a sitting duck! And I love how he is trying to compaire us as a class of 31/31/31 against other classes using regular point counts. *********** joke!
  24. ummm, sages don't hit hard, we tickle people....with rose pedals...which is why we are the first ones targeted. sith hate roses I guess.
  25. you know, you guys laugh at it, and I wish I was recording that warzone match but I didn't, but we did have an instance where we where loosing, no way to three cap, so all 8 players moved over to left turret which was under our control to get defender medals when a maurader came over, All 8 of us starting attacking him, hitting him with everything we had except for maybe stuns because it was 8 against 1, and he lasted a good 10 seconds against 8 players wailing on him. I don't know about you, but when I get jumped by three players, I last about 2 to 4 seconds, he has 8 on him and lasted a good 10 seconds at least.
