  1. Why throw your PVP virginity away willy nilly? Why not save yourself for pvp until 65, lol.
  2. Thank you for your reply. Yeah, but what I'm saying is that if you have on a power relic and a crit relic, and then swap in the redoubt defense relic for the crit relic, your bonus damage goes up by more than 1% and that does not even require a relic proc. With relics they proc about 30% of the time and only for 6seconds. You'll get two, maybe three casts off in that time frame if you're lucky. That versus a 1.3ish % increase in base damage and bonus damage due to the high mastery value on the redoubt relic. It's not a tanking relic if it increases your base damage and bonus damage substantially, even without having to proc. It becomes a dps relic that just so happens to give 880 defense when it procs, lol. I just did some casual testing with a nearly fully geared toon and it looks to me like BiS is the power relic and the mastery relic. The mastery relic increases my crit rate MORE than the crit relic while moving my surge up only 1% versus 4%. That's a good trade. 42% crit with 66% surge with mastery relic, 40% crit with 69% surge for crit relic. The mastery relic does this while increasing my base damage about 90% as much as the power relic. I wouldn't bother with the crit relic at all for either dps or bursty dps.
  3. This is a deeply interesting thread, thank you, OP. I just hit 65 and am re-gearing my hatred assassin. I have one thing to ask and it is going to sound like min/max blasphemy but I'd like you to consider it after you get done laughing and let me know what your opinion is on it please, OP or anyone. I agree power augs are best. I agree, as does everyone, that the Serentipitous Assault relic is mandatory. One thing I found is that a couple weeks ago my defense relic (yes, I have a defense relic; I swap it in when I'm going against snipers and there's no sorcs around), well that defense relic has 169 Mastery on it in place of Endurance. HP does not increase damage so I actually considered using redoubt augs, and did, a while back to test, but the reduction in power isn't worth swapping some defense for some endurance on augs. On relics however, this 167 Mastery should result in something like a 1.3% increase in bonus damage which is substantial. That's on every single hit, and that does not even require the relic to proc! Granted when it does proc you're only going to get 882 defense, not power, crit, or even mastery, but the more than 1% increase in bonus damage even if the relic never procs ... well, it strikes me that it could be worth it. Opinions please.
  4. You miss out on every title, achievement, and that all-important Legacy-wide class buff that you would normally get at the end of Chapter 2, around lvl 40 if I recall. That's a big hit to take to get an instant 60 character. I would only take the free instant lvl 60 option if it was for a sister class to my class. I'm a sin. If I wanted a sorc really, really bad, I'd use the free lvl 60 to do it because I already have all those achievements, titles, and the only thing that really matters, that Legacy-wide class buff which we all need all four of in order to be competitive.
  5. First I would rightclick my portrait and try to reset all phases, if any were active. Then hit Play again. If that didn't work, I would attempt to abandon the quest and then pick it up again (I'm assuming this would work for the expansion as for other quests. I can't imagine the game would actually let you not pick it back up again after abandoning it, despite the ubiquitous ingame warning about abandoning missions. Abandon, start it again, hit Play. You might also check your bags and make sure you don't have every slot full or something. It could maybe thinly possibly be some weird quirk like that. I don't remember getting any essential gear I had to have bag space for, but maybe there was something. If those three things didn't work, I'd write a ticket.
  6. But only on instant cast skills cast while stealthed. Cast time skills unstealth you as you're casting them so it wouldn't be logical for there to be any sort of sneak attack there, but for instant cast from stealth I think it would fit with the classes' role as stealthers. It doesn't have to be big, not like the 3x and 5x bonus damage in some games. 1.5x damage would be nice. But only if it's truly a sneak attack as described above, and I do not contemplate attacks simply made from behind an opponent to count either, unless they're stealth instant cast, so behind or in front wouldn't even enter into it. Flame away. [EDIT: *hey, any chance of a mod moving this post to the Suggestions subforum? I messed up and stuck it in the wrong spot.*]
  7. Well, stealth is pretty crucial because it's great for guarding nodes, ninjaing nodes, and not dying when otherwise you would have died if you did not have a way to exit combat on demand by stealthing. So it is pretty important for maximizing the utility and survivability of that class, like cover in that respect, yes. Powertech only uses one gun, not two. Gets to run around and be mobile. No stealth, so nothing lost from the class if you don't use it, because it's not there. My main is an assassin. If I were to run around unstealthed a lot, without good reason for doing so, I wouldn't be playing my class "right" because stealth classes get to choose when they do combat, while non-stealth classes have to fight or flee. Maybe roll a couple different alts and see if you like the playstyle of one of them more than what you play now.
  8. You probably haven't gotten any replies from your class or its complementary class because these agents and scoundrels just don't know what to say to what you posted. It sounds to me like you don't really want to play a stealth class at all, so I'd consider rolling a non-stealth class. If you're not going to use cover while a sniper you're gimping yourself horribly. Cover is imbalanced for soaking up damage you would otherwise take and you can always reenter cover to get those ballistic dampeners back up x3 when they run out. You can also take that reentering cover opportunity to pop off an instant Snipe, probably your third best instant cast damage skill after Takedown and Followthrough. Likewise if you want to run around and pewpew but want to avoid your class's defining skill, stealth in this case, I would encourage you to roll a powertech probably. If roleplay is your only interest then do what you want but if PVP proficiency is something you want, you really want to learn your class's strengths, ideal skill rotations, and use them.
  9. I have an assassin and we recently got a skill for teleportation that's the same as yours for your class. It misbehaves exactly the same way you are describing. I submitted a bug report a couple days ago and hopefully others will too and hopefully it will get fixed. For me not only do I get rubberbanding or failure to cast (but with a burned cooldown anyway) if I don't have unobstructed Line Of Sight but I also experience a noticeable lag of a half second or a second when deploying the skill and having it come off. I have also stopped mid travel between me and my target and those times I ended up landing where the obstruction was. The check they should have on it is "Is player within 30m from target?" As it stands they have that and LoS check too and it's the LoS check that they must remove.
  10. Yes, something exactly like that. More things like that. As to Daewan's comment, Dragon Age was also Bioware and Bioware does immersive RP games. It would be natural for some similar style interactions to be in their other games. I don't personally remember any of my DA companions getting romantic with any other ones but had I neglected one and maybe angered another then I would consider such an event to work toward immersion and replay value.
  11. Yeah, so I was just reading a thread asking about companion romance and considered the amusing scenario in which, say, you've been romancing Ashara, but then either ghosted her or said a few things she disagreed with strongly. At the same time, Andronikos has been in the cockpit stewing for a year over some slight you've already forgotten but his conversation dried up some time ago and you didn't really miss it when it was gone. Then all of a sudden, you come back on your ship to find Nikos sneaking out of the engine room adjusting his pants. Could some sort of companion-companion interplay, not necessarily of the salacious type, but perhaps, be made to happen in future? It would add to immersion and replay value as well as underscoring that the player's actions have consequences.
  12. EXP is too fast. I didn't have early access so I was 60.99 when I started the expansion. A couple hours later I'm finishing Chapter 5 and I'm already lvl 65. No EXP coupons either. So, the EXP is too much. There should be some grind between levels not capping half way through the new expansion. Also, in Solo mode at least mobs are ridiculously easy. It's not so much that companions are overpowered perhaps as that when you're in an instance with a companion, you're probably in Solo mode and the mobs are a joke. Even elites are easier to kill than strong mobs should be. They cast slower than usual and less frequently. They basically stand there waiting for you to kill them. This could be worked on maybe.
  13. Hang on. Lemme check for you. https://media.giphy.com/media/10TI5vPyELuuHu/giphy.gif
  14. Anakin slaughtered younglings prior to his losing Padme. His embracing of the dark side was a process that predated the loss of his wife.
  15. I think this Midichlorian stuff has been pushed out of canon into whatever. It is viewed as a mistake and I don't think the franchise puts much stock in it. Yoda was small, yet strong in the force. Was his diminutive size an impediment in performing great feats of strength with the force? No, it was not. So maybe losing a limb or three didn't phase him that much. I would argue that it was his losing Padme that made him realize his full potential. Falling to the dark side is viewed as failing to fulfill your potential from the jedi perspective but from the sith perspective it is a necessary precursor to shedding the bonds of jedi training that would hold back a force user from realizing his full potential.
  16. Anakin didn't even reach his full potential as a force user until after he fell to the dark side so it makes little sense in my mind to hobble his potential by shackling him to his force proficiency back when he was a Jedi. Anakin came back as a force ghost and a creature of light after dying, but only after he fell to the dark side did he start on the path to true power. As a sith he realized his force potential, not as a jedi. I don't remember Qui'gon Jinn appearing to him when he was a Darth and telling him how to come back as a force ghost so I believe that means Anakin/Vader learned this on his own somehow. He was theoretically conceived by the force. So, Vader would pimpslap Luke if they both went balls-out at he peak of each of their respective powers, but we never get to see that in the movies because Vader wasn't going all-out because he was trying to convert, not destroy. We see how conflicted he was when he later threw his master to his death, killing himself in the process, so it's not as if the theoretical fight you propose would ever have taken place, or could take place. If Anakin had never fallen to the dark side there would never have been a reason for him to fight Luke. In fact had Anakin not started his path toward the darkside through lack of discipline and giving in to emotion, Luke would not himself have ever been conceived. Strange hypothetical.
  17. Beyond hilarious. I'm cleaning up coffee right now.
  18. You removed the "Throw the huttball" command entirely. Now the appropriate button only shows up on a popup window, button capacity of one, that pops up middle of screen when you are carrying the huttball. You added in its place 'throw the custom huttball' which is asinine and it only relates to a novelty ball some people have in their strongholds. Huttball, on the other hand, matters. So, replace the "throw the custom huttball" command, which is useless, with "throw the huttball" command. and remove that popuup new window from huttball on ball carriers.
  19. Exactly. And it's not even a week anymore. It was. Now it's half a week. This expansion is buggy as hell. Even those not playing it yet have been struck by the bugs its patch has introduced to their game. I cherish the opportunity for those with access now to continue to submit bug reports which will result in a less buggy experience when I play it in three and a half days. I was amused by someone in this thread or some other trying to plead impossibility as the reason for their inability to be subscribed at all required dates, on account of some internet outage locally or some such thing. So much thought aimed at such a wrong target.
  20. Yes, second biggest population to Harbinger. Ping matters for ingame experience. If you have an acceptable ping on Ebon Hawk and are thinking of transferring I would encourage you to do so.
  21. If I had the ability to kill companions my ship would be an empty space filled with silence except for Ashara who would presumably ask from time to time why the ship was so quiet between lovemaking sessions. HK-51 can stay. He can guard the ship in case Kaliyo, Andronikos or any other of my former crewmates try to sneak back on board.
  22. Hi, Dreadshots. I remember you, yes. /tipshat Viozaer, you misunderstand the reason for my transferring as well as what typically happens when I fight someone in a WZ or elsewhere. First off, I transferred due to terribly low population that does not allow WZs to run regularly, sometimes with hours in a row it does not run at all on whole server. Secondly, I'm not the guy who chooses servers based on some notion of wanting to be a big fish in a small pond. I wanted WZ pops to happen and going back to Jung Ma wouldn't make that happen for me. In fact, Ebon Hawk, though much larger population is a PVE-RP server so it's a bit interesting their playstyle and how it differs from Jung Ma players. I would say it's more challenging, not less, and that is exactly what I expected. Sounded great in your head when you typed it though. /clap And what's the actual reason for the post, you wonder? Well consider me like a honeybee doing a dance communicating to other bees that I have found a bush that has sweet nectar and I know the way, here let me show it to you...
