Being non-white insulates a person from any sort of criticism, which they use by whipping out the race card. That may work in the real world right this second, but it won't work for all time, I assure you. There are many of us already immune to such chicanery. So, even if he's annoying, challenges my authority, and praises the NPC who destroyed my homeworld, my empire, and killed a fellow Sith Council member, he is immune to criticism because he has an afro. Noted.
  2. Oh no, sir, I would spacing the non-humans. See, I'd still the Tellurites in one cargo bay, the Andorians in another, the Vulcans in a shuttle bay, all poised to repel invaders as part of a drill. Then I'd space them. Left on the Enterprise would be a 100% human crew. In this particular hypothetical, it would be more species realist than race realist. But the overall principle is the same. As you look around the Star Trek universe, it's really only the humans who pushed the Federation into being a multicultural organization. In contrast, when we look at the Romulan Star Empire, we see what? Romulans. And when cast our view toward the Klingon Empire, what do we see? Klingons. And of course Species 8472 is quite into preservation of their own genetic integrity so I figure all these three groups might be able to offer something to lend strength to my push to make the Earthlings worry about Earth-things, just as I would ask my own people here on Earth in real life to worry about ourselves, not others. While you might say, "Hey, Species 8472 and the Klingons and the Romulans aren't humans and aren't going to be natural allies." I would argue that some among them may well be sympathetic to my political objectives because it mirrors their own cultural beliefs. One of the things that puts such species off of the Federation is it's disorder, it's multiplicity of species. The Federation is like The Borg in this regard. And even if they didn't want to offer aid out of some sense of philosophical kinship, they would surely offer aid anyway since they know I would be undermining the Federation in the present so they'd like that. Only later once it was purged of non-humans would it be able to rise to become a threat to them, and then if we had this philosophical kinship then perhaps we would not be enemies.
  3. Yep. I was thinking along the lines of a race realist version of Section 31.
  4. If I were the captain of the Enterprise I would set up a safety drill in which everyone was locked down in various cargo holds and landing bays, simulating a boarding party invasion, would be my cover story to get everyone to participate. Then, using my command codes, I would space every non-human from the ship into the vacuum of space. Then I would then seek to form an alliance with various revolutionary sects on non-human worlds, Romulus, Kronos, Species 8472 perhaps. I would then seek to purge The Federation of its non-human influence through a combination of diplomacy, bribery, extortion and terrorist acts. You asked.
  5. Set your operating system to automatically adjust for daylight savings time, presumably. I'm assuming you must have turned that off at one point. It's usually on by default. I had some issues that I thought were related to a failed motherboard battery but it really wasn't the case. I'd bet it's not the case in your case either.
  6. You're actually extremely vocal about shutting them down. It's not to you to dictate what the community wants, any more than it is for them. It is however annoying that you and a couple others seem to be posting on each of these threads on each page of the threads urging everyone to shut the hell up about it, even suggesting they should be disciplined by mods. For what? Speaking about something you don't want to hear about. You disagree and you've had your say. Trying to prevent others from having their say is really piss poor form. Stop trying to dictate and allow others to have their say, as you have had your say... a lot.
  7. You make a conclusory and false statement in calling them spam. Glancing around now I see one thread on the topic of comically overpowered companions on page one and the next one in the list is back on page three, both made by two different original posters. So you call them spam and say it's the same person making them. It's not. And you call it spam because you disagree. And you said you were going to take a break earlier today because you're one of several people who've been dishing vitriol over people daring to ask developers for a companion nerf. You didn't take a break.
  8. I'm going to laugh my posterior off if you end up with a lvl 50 influence companion who has 120k HP, 3000 bonus additional damage, and 35% damage mitigation, then you slip up in a conversation and end up in a duel to the death with that companion. EA would likely not gift me with such ironic joy.
  9. What's wrong with companions, you say? Look, half the people in this thread are talking about a game balance issue that is an unreasonable change to the game, in their minds at least. The other half are trying to play like nothing's wrong. For those of you in the second category, I direct you to this other thread, the first page of which should totally clarify your misunderstanding: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=848524
  10. I would never buy a subscription for an MMO for longer than 12 months and I would only do that if they were obligated to give me a prorated refund on any unused portion of subscription time if the game closed down before the year ended. It just does not make sense because 99/100 MMOs will close down a few years after they start.
  11. I'm just gonna block you cuz you're dumb and throwing around attitude like a person who's correct might have, even though you are wrong.
  12. Review your own posts last page. You stepped to me with attitude. I simply returned what you projected. And I did provide proof. Actual proof. Why talk like it's not been proffered in acceptable form already by not just me but many? The person you're replying to summed up everything very well, I thought.
  13. On any of my characters? No. If counting alts, yeah, a bit, a year or two ago. Why would I do the same OP or flashpoint twice? I hate pve because it's all scripted and repetitive and mindless. It takes only pattern recognition and rote memorization to be good at pve. I come to forum to post so obviously my immersion is not without breaks and my concept of suspension of disbelief is not sacrosanct.
  14. For your perusal, sport: My dmg: http://i.imgur.com/LaFqwLO.jpg My ship's droid's dmg: http://i.imgur.com/IMcUHVH.jpg I'm in all 208 pvp gear, all lvl 40 overkill advanced augments, and the only thing I could do better gearwise, apart from wearing pve gear which is sort of pointless for what I do, is to use a better stim, I'm still on the old anodyne stim. But it doesn't matter, this is an issue caused by influence impacting companion stats.
  15. No, dips^it, it's a case of me having jacked up my influence with my ship's droid to level 14 because the game told me that he may have been plotting to kill me. Hence, super ship's droid. Talk about stuff you know about instead of guessing and making yourself look like an ***** trying to do the same to someone else.
  16. Crisis may be a bit dramatic but my ship's droid, the one who explained to me last year that he couldn't fight at all, now does more damage than HK and even more than me. He pulls aggro off me consistently while in dps stance. That's sort of funny and probably should never happen.
  17. I have a problem with alts because it breaks my immersion to have to do things that were already done (by me) in that game world. I don't even think once a player begins KOTFE they should be able to access the Imperial Fleet or their faction's homeworld. It is contradictory with the expansion's storyline to have a player be able to travel back in time 5 years on demand to a time when the fleet was still around and there was a thriving space station to resupply at. I think it breaks suspension of disbelief considerably to have to travel back and forth in time between SWTOR and KOTFE, which exist in two different incompatible time periods.
  18. So I got stuck a few minutes ago on Hoth, slid down a hill and there was no way out. Tried /stuck twice, slid right back down. Game thought I was moving as does in such cases, so I was unable to use quick travel to get out of it. I was however, even though "moving", able to use Travel To Contact from the new menu to get out of there. This is a great addition and a big convenience factor, and it sure beats waiting a day for a CS droid to move my character. Thank you.
  19. Hardly sunk costs. It's only WZ comms. And this can be tested at a targetting dummy. You don't have to keep the relics. You can try them out and then vendor them back and get your comms back. You have two hours. It only takes two minutes for you to test what I assert, which is that the 880 Master proc gives about 7% crit while the 505 Crit proc only gives 5%. Anyone reading this can go and confirm this right now.
  20. This is factually incorrect. I encourage you to visit the nearest targetting dummy to confirm.
  21. That is an interesting point. Perhaps the small increase in surge I seemed to observe on the Mastery relic proc was from it increasing mastery, which increased crit, which in turn increase surge slightly. I still think 5% surge is worthless unless you crit and the mastery relic will help you do that 2% more often than the crit one.
  22. I was in error when I said Mastery increased my surge marginally. I'm not sure what caused what I observed in that instance. But I am sure that 880 mastery gives 7% crit rate whereas 505 crit only gives 5% crit rate, and without the increase in attack damage that you get from the Mastery relic along with the crit. That's the math I used to come to my conclusion that the Mastery relic beats the crit relic.
  23. I realize you have a lot emotionally invested in this and I am appreciative of your efforts. That said, we gear ourselves to increase our stats. You can't dismiss a 25 or so increase in base dmg and bonus dmg because it doesn't involve proc'ing. It involves a gear slot, so factor it in. It does matter and saying it is outside of the analysis undermines your analysis, which I don't think you want. Also, I can assure you that I tested these relics and found I had a 7% increase in crit rate from the Mastery relic alone proc'ing, while the Crit relic only gave me 5%. And mouse over the Mastery stat on character window sometime; increasing it does increase surge, albeit not as much as the Crit relic. That's while jacking up your dmg almost as well as the Power relic.
  24. Swap in a Mastery relic with the same rating for that Crit relic. Go to the targetting dummies on the Ziost Shadow or elsewhere and get a proc of both relics and compare. With around 900 crit (I hadn't maxed my mods yet by swapping out accuracy from the mods that were there), that 208 crit relic boosted my crit percentage by only 5%. The Mastery relic boosted it by 7%.
  25. Yeah, there is a bugged elevator in KOTFE Chapter 6 that is preventing me from proceeding. I am to meet up with Senya so she can introduce me to her allies. The map indicates I am to take an elevator. I went to the elevator and it has no button. I have run around aimlessly for 15 minutes now.
