  1. Really? Aussies are beta testing the half-developed character transfer process for us. Given the potential loss of character data I'm happy to let them do so.
  2. http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=85 There's the crew skills forum. :edit: It seems that everyone except the OP knows where the forum is!
  3. Bioware don't control fansites. And as for whether they should tell us everything, where's the fun in that? People spent ages working out where to get the Orokeet eggs or where to catch a taun-taun. I believe they have stated that same sex romances will be on new companions, not added to existing ones. So I don't expect this until they add a new companion to each class.
  4. FYI I agree that some way to bring players together (server merge or character transfer) should have been ready for launch. But it's worth pointing out that in the early access there were few servers with more added each day and the majority were full to the point of queuing. It's not as if they just randomly decided to have loads of servers.
  5. Way to preview before you buy? I'd just pull the mods personally. The WH gear should have the set bonus on the armoring so use a decent looking orange chest with an augment slot.
  6. There's no ingame combat log. You enable it ingame then find the text file in your documents folder / library (e.g. mine is in: "C:\Users\**Windows Account Name**\Documents\Star Wars - The Old Republic\CombatLogs") :edit: The file contains data like this:
  7. Sure, because when I'm deciding if a game is "awesome" I decide it solely on whether they have character transfers available at launch.
  8. It's nothing to do with the event. It's to do with area attacks (including a certain explosive infection) hitting flagged enemies enabling your flag, in the same way that if I targeted a yellow name (flagged enemy) and used a direct attack it would turn on my flag instead of telling me I can't attack them until I manually enable my flag.
  9. Because they haven't got a free pet yet? Great reason to leave!
  10. So the hype of GW2 is better than the reality of SWTOR? Big deal. I'll wait to see if the reality of GW2 is better before spouting rubbish.
  11. You don't check official communication methods like forums, dev tracker or website, but it's Bioware's fault that you didn't know? Perhaps they should have turned up on your doorstep and shouted through your letterbox?
  12. Yes. During a few operation runs since 1.2 we have had the whole team in TS say "lag spike" at the same time. People across multiple countries and ISPs.
  13. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=431785
  14. This. The problem is that using a non-direct targeted ability (i.e. ground target, PBAoE, cone, etc) ability with no pvp flag and having a flagged enemy run into that area will cause you to flag. The event was just another way to do it, but no more so than by running into an enemies lightning storm . death from above / etc.
  15. Not read all 27 pages. There's been a sticky thread in this forum since 17th April and the post is also in the dev tracker. Not sure what you were expecting, Bioware to turn up on your doorstep and explain it to you?
  16. If you are talking purely view-point, then you can zoom in. If you are talking about manual aiming, etc then you need to be able to track every single bullet fired by every single weapon and constantly check to see if it encounters a player or non-player character. In an MMO environment that's only possible when it's been designed around that kind of system (e.g. Planetside had large-scale real-time combat), it's not something that can easily be added to an existing game.
  17. That's fine then. If you are using frequency as (one of) your criteria then you are talking about reporting for spamming, not for trading on general. Personally when I do it there is never more than one of my messages on the screen at any one time.
  18. And I never actually said that you did, I asked your opinion on whether all breaches of chat rules should be reported or just some.
  19. Your statement is completely biased. I'd prefer a large amount of non-buggy content over a slightly larger community of ******s. See, I can be equally biased.
  20. But manning the guns and then just clicking "lock on" and pressing F1 once? That would be what it is using Eve's combat system. I'd prefer full control. In fact, some of the early Black Prophecy gameplay includes a small ship and using a turret on a bigger ship, check out the video .
  21. So what percentage of reportable chat / posts should you actually report? Just 50% of the gold sellers? Just 25% of the racist comments? If you think it's breaking the rules then clearly there's nothing wrong with reporting it.
  22. Bioware's opinion? Oh yeah, who cares what the developers say, what matters is how *you* think the channels should be used.
  23. Sadly, this will likely happen. Which makes limited-time events completely pointless.
  24. Eve combat isn't complicated, it's "tactical" instead of "action". But it's still as simple as clicking a target, clicking lock-on and pressing as many quickbar keys as you want weapons to attack.
  25. No. You really can't. I doubt it's the case on a PVE server and I'm certain it's not the case on a PVP server.
