  1. The Golden Certificates you get from the Nightlife Event are not the same as the Cartel Certificates. Cartel Certificates can be used at various vendors in the Cartel Bazaar area of Fleet, and also at a couple deco vendors in the Strongholds area of Fleet. Golden Certificates from the Nightlife Event can only be used at the vendors in the Nar Shaddaa casinos (Club Vertica for Pubs and Star Cluster for Imps). You can get the Cartel Certificates as a rare(ish) drop from crates from the Cartel Market. IIRC, they used to be a ... less rare ... drop from the various types of crates (which also dropped reputation tokens for the various cartel factions, back before the devs rolled all the factions into one). Recently, with the Ultimate packs, the drop rate seems to be less, or maybe I haven't made the correct sacrifice(s) to the RNG gods. I think I got one certificate from the last hypercrate I opened. I don't think I've ever gotten more than two or three of them from a single hypercrate. I have one of those "playable" slot machines in one of my strongholds. I've never gotten a Cartel Certificate from it.
  2. No. Getting your personal starship, and the ship droid along with it, is not based on your level. Never was, and still is not*. You get your personal starship, and the droid, when you complete your Class Story on your faction's capital world. Back at launch, with the original leveling curve, it was normal to get your ship well before hitting level 20. (The capital worlds were designed for characters from levels 10 to 16, after all). Nowadays, it's probably more likely that you'll be well past level 20 by the time you get your ship, especially if you do all the "planet" or "side" missions on your starter world, plus the Heroics, and then go from Fleet to the capital via the Esseles or Black Talon FP. Or you can pretty much ignore the Class Story altogether, and level up doing PVP, Heroics, Conquest, and whatever else. I currently have at least one character at nearly level 40 who still doesn't have their personal starship & droid. *One exception: If you use a Master's Datacron to bump an existing character, that doesn't already have their ship, to level 70, they will also be granted their personal starship and ship droid.
  3. I don't recall ever seeing it at anything other than the "sale" price. And I've never seen anything else go "on sale" and give less than it did at "full" price, either. You could (maybe) see what you paid before by looking at your Cartel Coin ledger. Though it may just say "In Game Purchase" and the amount.
  4. Per this post back in 2013, there's no need to put "Scooby" in your character restoration request. Won't hurt, but won't help, either.
  5. I appreciate what you're trying to do, but don't waste your time. There are "bad" gathering nodes on planets throughout the galaxy. Back in the old days (right after launch) I submitted /bug reports on them whenever I found one. I'm sure I reported some of them multiple times, on the same and different characters. But after encountering the same bad nodes over, and over, and .... I figured they weren't ever going to get fixed, and stopped reporting them.
  6. Here ya go: Check this post, in the spoiler tag marked "Most Effective Companions By Stance", if you want to know which one is best in what role. (You may or may not have access to the "best" ones, depending on your ability / willlingness to spend Cartel Coins and / or slog through whatever game content to get a particular companion).
  7. They don't have a "primary" role anymore*. Since patch 4.0 came out over three years ago, they are all able to take any role, and in theory are all equally good at whatever role, if they're at the same Influence level. IOW, in theory, Corso is just as good a Healer as Gus or Risha, if they're all the same Influence level. And at the same Influence level, they all are just as good in the damage or tank role, as well. And the same applies to the other companions you can pick up as you go through KotFE/ET and beyond. At the same influence level, any one companion is just as good at heals or damage or tank as any other companion. In Theory. In reality, the theory-crafters have determined that they all perfrom differently in the different roles. Some are better than others, and they've ranked all the companions from best to worst in all the roles. I don't recall offhand which companion is "best" at what role, other than Shae Vizla apparently is the "best" dps comp, basically due to her copy of the BH's "Death From Above" ability**. That, and all the CM comps apparently are worthless, in any role (and doubly worthless, because you can't use them for Crew Skills). I'm pretty sure I read the full breakdown in a post somewhere here in these forums, but it was months ago. Mostly, I remember that there didn't seem to be that big a difference in them, except maybe for the CM ones. What I can say from my own experience is that I still use the ones I like best in terms of "personality" and how that "fits" with whichever of my companions, without worrying that they aren't the best in whatever role I assign for them. Sometimes I also consider whether they're "melee" or "ranged" and how that complements my character's class. And I don't really have any problems getting stuff done using a comp who isn't the "best" in whatever role I assign. *The original Story companions are still categorized as Melee Damage, Ranged Damage, etc., but that really only applies to the Legacy bonuses you get for completing all their conversations & missions. They still are very much "melee" or "ranged" but otherwise, they all can be tank, damage or heals. **I'm not sure if that's accurate, per the theory-crafters, or if that's just what I've seen over and over in Gen chat, and people are enamored of her because it's a "cool" ability, and not because she actually has better damage output.
  8. Just because their "default" role is heals, doesn't mean that's what they're "best" for. Certain companions are demonstrably better, or worse, in particular roles. Regardless of what they're "best" at, how well they do in any role depends on their Influence level. If they are high enough, they can put out significant damage or healing, in those roles. As tank, they won't heal, of course, and won't do a ton of damage, but they will pretty much keep all the aggro off you, while possibly taking little or no damage - if you have them at high enough Influence level. If they're still at Influence one, they'll be nearly useless in any role. I (usually) don't put my comp in heal mode on my main, because my main is a healer, so I put my comp on tank to keep the aggro off me. If I'm playing a tank character, I usually put my comp on heals, or sometimes damage, depending on the situation (how much damage I'm taking, or how quickly I want to get through stuff, mostly). On my dps characters (which would be most relevant for you, as a marauder), I tend to mix it up, sometimes I put my comp on dps to burn through stuff faster, sometimes tank to keep the aggro off me, and sometimes heals to keep us alive.
  9. Yeah, I logged in after I posted and checked on that, and sure enough, that vendor's gone. No biggie. I actually did get a couple of those old, pre-modded pieces in my last hypercrate. Not the Dire Warmaster's Body Armor, but other, equally "rare" (maybe) ones - Honored Master's Vestments and Wayfarer's Robe. (Both of them also "available" from the same, no-longer-in-the-game vendor).
  10. Thanks for the offer. Dire Taskmaster's Robe is not quite the same as the Dire Warmaster's Body Armor. I'm not fond of the "wings" on the shoulders of the former, which also lacks the cape of the latter. And I don't know how accurate those pages are, but apparently both items can be purchased from one of the vendors in the Cartel Bazaar on Fleet. So go ahead and put that "robe" on the GTN.
  11. It's simple, just type /who (or did you need something more than how to find the Who window?) If you type "/who name" you'll get a list of matches in your chat. If there are too many* results, the /who window will open to display them. *The default for "too many" is 4, but you can adjust it from 0 to 10 in your Preferences.
  12. I'm not particularly vested in getting another DIre Warmaster Body Armor, just (slightly) intrigured by the idea that I could get another one some day. I barely managed to get the one I have before they were removed from the CM. And then I kept it around for a while after that, because the character I wanted it for wasn't high enough level to use it yet. It definitely cannot be unlocked in Collections. I'm certainly not going to buy Cartel Packs thinking I'll get another. Though I do buy packs from time to time, just to see what random stuff I get, so, maybe I'll get one, and maybe I won't. I have gotten one or two "platinum" rarity items from packs, over the years, soo ... It could happen.
  13. Yeah, the crossguard doesn't really prevent one's fingers from "wandering onto the blade," if the wielder is determined to put them there. Many, many times had to tell students (or heard them being told) not to hook their fingers over the "crossguards" on their sai, or their longswords, in my long-ago weapons classes.
  14. Ooooh, wow. So there's still a chance for me to get another Dire Warmaster's Body Armor? Nice.
  15. Short Answer: Your Alacrity Rating is the number of points shown next to the stat up at the top of your character sheet, not the Alacrity % bonus shown at the bottom of the character sheet. Long Answer: To clarify, the stat Rating is the number of points you have in the stat, from gear mods, or abilities or whatever. This is shown on the line for that stat up at the top of your character sheet. The % bonus you get from that stat is shown at the bottom of the character sheet, and may include effects of more than one of the stats at the top of the sheet. This is a bit more obvious with the Critical stats. Your Critical Rating, affects both your % chance of getting a critical hit, and your % multiplier when you get a critical hit. A 2% bonus to your Critical Rating will not increase either of those things by 2 percentage points. Your critical chance (but not the multiplier) is also affected by your Mastery Rating. But a 2% increase in your Mastery Rating will not give you an additional 2% bonus to your critical chance, either. If you look at the Legacy bonuses you get from completing companion stories, there is one that gives you a 1% bonus to Critical Chance, and another that gives a 1% bonus to your Critical Multiplier. Note that these specifiy that the bonus is to your Critical Chance, or Critical Multiplier, not your Critical Rating. These will both show up as a full additional 1% on those stats at the bottom of your character sheet, and not as additional points in your Critical Rating up at the top. And if you mouse over your Critical Chance stat, you will see how much of it comes from your Critical Rating, how much from your Mastery Rating, and how much from other things. So on one of my characters, my Critical Chance includes 8.18% from Critical Rating (1059), 8.66% from Mastery (6996), and 6.00% from Skills/Buffs (1.00% from the Legacy companion bonus, and 5.00% from the Smuggler's "Lucky Shots" buff). But my Critical Multiplier only gets the 8.18% from Critical Rating and 1.00% from the "other" Legacy companion bonus. For Alacrity, I simply get 7.86% bonus from my Alacrity Rating (1355). Adding 2% to the Rating would bump it to 1382, and increase the bonus by something like 0.16%, making it about 8.02%.
  16. It used to be possible to set your time zone and whether to use Daylight Savings Time, but those options vanished from the forums years ago, for no apparent reason. (The change was not announced, and there's never been any official response to the many threads asking how to fix the problem). For me, at least, it seems to be set to the US Padific time zone, but permanently on DST (or GMT -7). So right now, while it's about 10:30 am here, my post says I made it at 11:30 am.
  17. Instead of doing that, you can go into your settings and add timer numbers to the ability icons, so you can see the cooldown time remaining without having to mouse over them and check the tooltip. How to do it: ESC Preferences User Interface Scroll down to Cooldown Settings Check the box marked Show Cooldown Text
  18. To elaborate a bit on the above, you can hug any "Wookiee Reveler" or "Wookiee Caroler" to (re)start the "Could Use a Good Hug" mission. Doesn't have to be one of the ones on Fleet, and no need to interact with any other NPC, either. After you hug ten Wookiees to complete the mission, you can continue hugging Wookies to increment the Wookiee-hugger achievement(s). You won't get any notifications, except if/when you complete an achievement, but if you have an achievement in your tracker, you can see it increment. And if you switch instances, you can continue hugging Wookiees, to increment the achievement(s) even further.
  19. To (re)start the Wookiee Hugger "mission", just hug a Wookiee. I think you can only do it once per day per character.
  20. A macro would also be against the Rules of Conduct and put you at risk of a ban.
  21. There is no "companion buff" for accuracy for having a particular companion with you. There is, however a 1% accuracy boost for completing all conversations and missions for one of the original class story companions with the "melee tank" role. That would be Qyzen Fess (Jedi Consular), Lord Scourge (Jedi Knight), Bowdaar (Smuggler) or Tanno Vic (Trooper) for the Republic Classes, or Scorpio (Imperial Agent), Skadge (Bounty Hunter), Khen Val (Sith Inquisitor), or Broonmark (Sith Warrior) for Empire classes. And there are other bonuses for unlocking companions in the four other roles: Ranged Tank (Max Health) Melee Damage (Critical Multiplier) Ranged Damage (Critical Chance) Healer (Healing Received) You can only get a bonus one time, no matter how many of the companions in whichever role you "unlock". But you do get an extra +10 Presence, for every companion you "unlock", for a total of +400 Presence if you unlock all 5 original companions for all 8 "base" classes. You also get an extra 12 seconds Heroic Moment duration, and one minute shorter HM cooldown, for each companion "role" you unlock, but only once for each role, for a total of one minute longer duration and 5 minutes shorter cooldown. Once unlocked, the bonuses apply to all characters in your Legacy.
  22. Once you've used the "favorite none" button to unfavorite Rocket Boost, you can safely hit "favorite all" and it will "favorite" all your mounts except Rocket Boost.
  23. Items you buy from the Cartel Market are bound to your character for 36 hours (1 day, 12 hours) after you "claim" them. Once the timer runs out the pieces will be unbound.
  24. Tech support forums are now at answers.ea.com There's a thread covering a variety of "Failure to Launch"-type issues here. There are also many threads covering specific error messages, but it's not possible to point you to the proper one(s) without knowing what error message you are getting.
